Where to Find the Best Milkshakes and Milk-Based Drinks in London - Eater London

"Yes this exists, yes it is delicious. Salt cheese tea has taken over Asia in a way not seen since, well bubble tea, but has yet to really take off in London. Kissaten, along with dessert parlour Yi Fang, are one of the few places tentatively introducing it. It’s well worth trying, salty cream cheese often works well in desserts, both counteracting and accentuating sweetness, here it balances out the cloying notes of nutty, roasted hojicha milk while providing a fluffy head to sip it through." - Jonathan Nunn

Really enjoyed the tea from here, I had the lychee rose with rose boba, and my husband had the hojicha with salted cheese. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed it. Was a little more on the pricey side compared to what I'm used to in Sheffield and drinks took a while, hence 4 stars, but still would come again! (Also is wheelchair accessible, managed to just squeeze through the door which was great!)

Tasty Bubble Tea But On the Pricier End. I was pleasantly surprised to hear and see that a Kissaten had arrived in Manchester. My first experience of Kissaten was in London which is always super busy but with good reason, the bubble tea is really good. I decided to visit Manchester’s branch whilst I was visiting during a hot day. Firstly, Manchester’s branch is much bigger than the branch in London. There is lots of space to walk around and there some seating available which doesn’t take up much space at all. They also offer various Gachapon products in-store, one purchase is Ā£6 each. Gachapon capsule products vary from popular shōnen to random funny items. Gachapon is basically a lucky dip for an item from a chosen selection you’re interested in purchasing. There are a few touchscreen kiosks available to make an order, there a lot of options for drinks and you can customise your drink with various toppings. I ordered the Large Taro Oolong Milk Tea w/ honey tapioca which costs Ā£7.75 in total (+70p for a large and + Ā£1.10 for honey tapioca). It’s definitely more on the expensive side for bubble tea, an additional Ā£1.80 for a large drink with toppings or Ā£5.95 for a regular size without toppings. Despite the cost of the drink, it’s definitely one of the best bubble tea drinks I’ve tried in the UK. The taro that is used is not just pure milk but also has the taro texture which tastes amazing, the honey tapioca is also nice and adds a bit more sweetness and chew to the whole experience. Something that I was a bit disappointed with was the lack of service. The straws provided are recycled and when I tried to pierce the lid using the straw, the pointy straw end had broken and therefore I could no longer use the same straw to pierce the lid. At this point the store was empty, I went to the counter to replace the broken straw and because the store relies on people ordering through their kiosks there is no staff presence at the front of the store, there was no way to get the attention of the staff for help. I was waiting there for a good 5-10 minutes for somebody to come and help. Overall, I’d recommend the store for the bubble tea despite the expensive prices but it’s unlikely that I would go as often as I do to other bubble tea stores because of the price and lack of service.

If you get confused with all the options and questions like me at bubble tea shops, you’ll like the screen ordering service. You can take your time and read the descriptions and recommendations on your chosen tea and sweetness levels. The shop interior is quite interesting with the gatcha machines and minimal decor. Will probably pop into this place every time I walk past.

(This is a review for the London store) Very cute little place with gacha machines, bubble tea and Japanese skincare products. Some of their current gacha are Haikyu!! chibi figures, sleepy Pokemon, Battle Cats - most of them seemed to be £6 each and they're all self service - they also had some more expensive figurines in a glass case such as a very cute Pokemon Cityscape blind box set (£12.50 ea or £75 for the set of 6) that you apparently have to ask the staff for. Tried the Uji Matcha Strawberry Milk Tea (£5.65, about the same as other bubble tea places in the area) - it was very good, a nice mix of bitter and sweetness. You can customise things like tea strength and sweetness and you order at a self serve kiosk. Staff were super friendly too - love this place, would highly recommend it!

Saw many people carrying Kissaten drinks on the day I visited London, thought I should also try something new. Bubble tea is originally from Taiwan, but looks like the drinks from this shop have been mixed with Japanese flavours? It’s interesting to order your own drinks with a machine, however it could take longer time to order your tailored drinks when you are not familiar with the machine. Would be great they can also have a staff to take customers’ orders at the same time. I ordered the Blend milk tea, not bad, but it tasted that they used coffee mate or milk powder to make the drink, with this price, they should at least use fresh milk to make the drinks. Overall, it’s interesting to try it but it’s overpriced(The most expensive bubble tea drink I’ve ever had in my whole life.),not worth visiting again.

Had both the peach fruit tea and lychee fruit tea with passion fruit popping peales and they're pretty good! Decent serving of pearls but they get a bit sickly after a while Only complaint is I wish there was better alleged and dietary information on the menu as sometimes staff aren't available- would love to know if the jelly is gelatin free and what exactly the non-animal but also not a nut milk lactose free milk is Gachapon is kinda expensive but it's nice having one and they change it often enough

I visited yesterday and already I can’t wait to visit again! The staff are super friendly and I love the touchscreens for ordering! I opted for the Uji matcha honey milk tea which was unreal! If you like good quality matcha then come here. I also bought a cute animal gachapon too which was so fun!

I came in Kissaten for first time and there self service to order the drink and makeup separate. I was confused when I use self order that it didn't go back to drink menu. The Customer told me to use another machine that it's for makeup. I decided to pick Warm Strawberry Milk Tea with pudding that I would love to drinking it. 9.5/10 I highly recommend to try this bubble tea!
