A delicious spot for coffee and a quick bite. We enjoyed the chill ambiance and kind employees. The bacon was cooked to perfection, Brava 🥓

Got the avo toast, it was pretty good! Although a little salty but I'm just used to not having salt in my food. The coffee was not bad either. Just made a quick stop on my way to the border. I would probably come back again if I'm ever around the area. There's lots of seating inside and it's nice and quiet to study.

Beautiful establishment. I met a group of friends there for 9am coffee and conversation. The waitress was nice and very patient with my undeceive ness. I ate the #11 Caniff sandwich on a croissant. I also ordered the Butter Cookie espresso.

Stopped by Kitab Cafe after hearing about it on Instagram. We ordered the iced chai latte and the brown sugar oat milk latte—both were delicious and perfectly sweetened. I loved how the cafe blended modern decor with the rustic charm of the city. It was bustling, so we ended up mixing and matching seating in a few different spots. Definitely a must-try cafe!

Great little cafe with excellent coffee. I got the brown sugar latte which was surprisingly good hot. Halal food options. Prayer room was super convenient. Really nice place to sit down and enjoy the ambiance. Free Qurans in the waiting line. Honestly 10/10 can’t be beat.

I love this place, specifically this location. If you're running around the area and want a quick pick-me-up without having to wait for it to brew or for all the bells and whistles, this is the clutch spot. Numerous times I've made it in and out in no time at all and for me the black n tan is where it's at. I would expect to wait if you are getting food or something warmed up to eat. If it's just a cold brew then your in and out.

Kitab has a wide variety of delicious beverages. I have tried the matcha honey latte, the brown sugar oatmilk draft, brown butter pumpkin latte and the caramel draft latte. The coffee is delicious and smooth. The vibe is fantastic as well. They have outdoor seating and books for sale as well. It is a bit pricey but worth the price in my opinion.

Pleasant atmosphere, my Carmel salt coffee was wonderful. My family and I felt safe. Business here is Excellent I ordered and went home.

I have been here (both Midtown and Hamtramck locations) multiple times, both for regular business hours and events hosted after-hours. Absolutely wonderful staff, owners, and atmosphere. If you are a reader, their selection of books is always incredible. If you're looking to be around fascinating people, you'll find them here. If you're looking for a comfortable place to work for a few hours, this is your spot.

What a cute coffee shop! It's so bright inside and they have lots of indoor and outdoor options. I also love their collection of art of books for sale. We got two of the oat milk lattes, one brown sugar and the other the lavender draft. If you want something not as sweet as a traditional latte, the drafts are a great option! The staff here are very friendly and it was nice to see it so busy since this business has great values.

A great addition to the midtown neighborhood, replacing a beloved institution. Great coffee selections, warm and inviting interior that makes a better use of the space than Avalon did. Feels like a place where you could spend an afternoon reading or catching up with a friend. The later hours are a big plus, too.

This cafe is so popular! Very cute with lots of seats that surprisingly get full more often than not. Tried their grandmas golden tea twice and love it each time. It tastes like a cider mixed with a lemonade with less citrus. Great light iced drink for the hot weather 9/10. Ordered the breakfast sandwich croissant loved the flaky croissant and the melted cheese 10/10

Very fresh, excellent light sandwich. Perfect for lunch. The place is halal and very nicely decorated on inside. Plenty of seats. The service was excellent as well. I would definitely go back. I think the aioli in buffalo chicken was slightly over powering, loved the spice though and a little too much mayonnaise in the turkey sandwich

This cafe is their 2nd location in midtown. Mostly college students here given proximity to campus. The menu is identical to their Hamtramck location. They serve La Colombe coffee and their pastries are from Zingerman's in Ann Arbor. The oatmilk draft latte is my go-to. It is so creamy and frothy. I recommend adding a bit of simple syrup if you like more sweet drinks. Their sandwiches are all really tasty and fresh. The Holbrook sandwich is my favorite and has a bit of a kick to it. I appreciate how you can choose the type of bread for the sandwiches. The space inside has plenty of seating and feels bright.

One of my absolute favorite coffee shops because they carry La Colombe! The oatmilk draft latte will forever be my favorite. I can't get enough. The interior is absolutely adorable- the concept is a cafe/bookstore hybrid. During my last visit, I had what I think was a brioche toast coated in an orange blossom syrup- it was perfect with my draft latte. I'm slowly making my way through their pastries but they do rotate items quite frequently. The staff are always super helpful and accommodating.

Had the oat milk draft latte and pour over and both were good! Egg and cheese Sandwich on sourdough was nice as well. Appreciate that they open early and have a lot of outlets.

Love having another Yemeni spot close by and the draft options are great. Only suggestion would be to change the name of the "black and tan" - I know it's not intentional, but as someone with Irish roots and a rebel streak I can't order it on the name alone.

I visit this shop daily as the location in HamTram is a bit farther for me as I live in New Center. They know me by name now i go so much. I think this is a great addition to the area both location and diversity wise. Most coffee spots in this area have sparse indoor seating and less of a variety of syrup options. Theres so many syrups to choose from here but I'd definitely rec the 5-spice. I often go through phases of visiting various spots in this area, but between the hours (6:30AM) and consistency of the drinks from different baristas I love this place for before I go to work. It gets too busy later in the day, though. But this isn't necessarily a bad thing (: keep up the good work

Great coworking space, but gets busy quick! Fewer books than the Hamtramck location, feels like a more open cafe with lots of space.

We love Kitab Cafe! Good food, drinks (oat milk!! included), service, atmosphere, and community support.

I had a great time at Kitab reading and yapping with a friend. The vibes are surreal, Kitab makes Detroit feel less shitty. The nicest baristas served us some La Colombe coffee and Zingermans Bakery items. The sandwiches are made in house. Great for if you're already in Detroit but not worth driving to experience it.
