The Best Ramen Shops in Chicago | Eater Chicago

"Hailing from the city of Kitakata, this Japanese chain has a busy local outpost in Hoffman Estates. The signature shoyu ramen is soy sauce-based and made with pork, while the flat wide-cut noodles are “hand crumpled” in-house, giving them a distinct texture. It’s all topped off with slices of chashu, braised pork belly marinated in soy sauce. There’s another location in Lombard." - Naomi Waxman

Google
During our evening stroll around Lombard, Chicago, we discovered Kitakata Ramen Ban Nai, and it turned out to be the perfect end to our day. The Japanese ramen was rich and satisfying, with a flavourful broth and tender noodles. The warm, comforting dish was exactly what we needed to cap off the evening. If you're in the area and craving authentic ramen, this place is definitely worth a visit!

Google
Must try! It was amazing food and they have 2 separate menus so don’t get worried like we did when we didn’t find the Hawaiian food. Huge portions and great taste

Google
Visiting Chicago and it’s hard to express how special this place is. I lived in the OC for 8 years, where the other locations of Kitakata are, and let me tell you… they are so dang good! I even went to Japan to have this ramen, and Kitakata absolutely holds its own. They are so consistent, and there is no broth cleaner — yet still so flavorful — than their Green Chili Shio Ramen. Such a big fan, and can only pray it comes to North Atlanta soon.

Google
Drove 25 minutes for this amazing ramen place. The food is definitely authentic and the best ramen in the area. Recommend the spicy miso ramen with a boiled egg on top and the karaage.

I decided to stopped in for lunch on a whim and was completely blown away by the quality and flavors. My server, John, was the perfect amount friendly and attentive you'd want in a server. He gave great recommendations that all tasted amazing. The chicken nanban was crispy and so well seasoned all while being the juiciest piece of fried chicken I've ever eaten. The portions are so generous, you'll never have to worry about being unsatisfied :)

When we lived in Japan, there was a Bannai Shokudo in the mall near our apartment that we visited a few times a month. It's the kind of ramen I really dig -- thick noodles and succulent pork. The presentation of the Chashu Ramen is exactly what I crave: a bed of meat covering the entire top of the bowl. I missed this. Only reason for four stars instead of five is that the price is twice what it is in Japan. I'm sure there are solid economic reasons for that, but I don't have to like it. --- Edit below --- A couple of weeks later we were making the Pittsburgh to Madison run again and timed our drive so that we'd pass through around opening time. On our first visit, I watched plate after plate of fabulous-looking karaage emerge from the kitchen and wanted some. And it tasted as good as it looked! Ignored the dipping sauce and just enjoyed how juicy each piece was on its own on top of the strong crunch. Price is steep but worth sharing with the table. I also wanted to try the tonkotsu ramen because having Bannai's thick, wavy noodles and chashu pork in a bowl of pork broth is about as decadent as I'm able to get in the US.

20/10!!!! I had the spicy miso ramen and it was magnificent! This is my new favorite place to get ramen for sure!

Google
I recently ordered from Big Kahuna Hawaiian BBQ, and it was a complete disappointment. First of all, the food arrived cold, which was a huge letdown. But the real shocker came when I took a bite of the chicken— it was still raw! I couldn’t believe it. Not only was it inedible, but it also made me question the restaurant's food safety standards. For a place that’s supposed to be known for quality Hawaiian BBQ, this was absolutely unacceptable. Definitely won't be returning. Avoid this place unless you want a food safety scare.

Yelp
Favorite ramen spot in the suburbs! They cater well to vegetarians and have a good spice level for their ramen. I usually get the spicy miso ramen and it's 10/10 with a good mix of tofu and vegetables. We also love the cucumber appetizer! Definitely recommend this spot for solid ramen.

Yelp
This is one of our go-to lunch spots. They offer a variety beyond the basics while maintaining a decent balance between flavors and quality. With that said, we have enjoyed and tried several items: Juicy fried chicken Kitakata ramen Kitakata miso ramen Tan tan noodles Ban nai curry Hawaiian barbecue chicken platter Matcha latte Food quality is consistent and portions are generous. The fried chicken is crispy. The ramen broth is rich. The barbecue chicken retains tenderness while having a good char. We normally dine in for weekend lunch and it is generally quiet and not busy. Food delivery and service was efficient even if they only had one wait staff on the clock. Restaurant is clean and organized.

Yelp
Ambiance - modernized, Japanese ramen spot that also offers Hawaiian food (?????) Service - service was fairly slow, seems like there was only 1 server on a Sunday night, we weren't given utensils and also didn't get enough after I asked Food - fried chicken was super crispy, tonkatsu ramen wasn't as rich Overall I still prefer their Hoffman estates location

Yelp
Have been a frequent customer of the location in Roselle and the food and service was spot on. Edwin is awesome and took great care of us. His previous kitchen experience combined with his great people skills makes a great combination.

Yelp
In this neighborhood I wasn't expecting a solid ramen place that sold something other than miso or shoyu ramen. But I was thoroughly impressed when this ramen place showed up as a result the morning after a wedding when we needed hearty broth. I thought the space was very well decorated and the ramen was spot on. I do wonder if this is a chain but even if so, I thought that the branding was polished where you would think that it's an independent small restaurant with a creative presence.

Yelp
Kitakata has to be one of my favorite ramens around the suburbs! I love how bouncy the noodles are and how deep the flavor is in their tonkatsu broth!! AND their kaarage with the dipping sauce is to die for! I love the atmosphere inside! They greet every customer as they walk in. They also have a Hawaiian plate lunch menu that is fantastic! Such a great option if you are indecisive or just in between choices; also great if you have a partner who's willing to share LOL

Yelp
20/10!!!! I had the spicy miso ramen and it was magnificent! This is my new favorite place to get ramen for sure! As soon as I walked in I was greeted and immediately given my order. I decided to take it to go and eat in the car on the go and they made sure to keep the noodles warm for me. (When you take it to go they chill the noodles to maintain their texture.) The noodles are made in house!! I love that I can get away from the "factory" noodles with this business. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, I will be coming back when I have more time to dine in.

Yelp
I was so happy to get back here this week; this is my favorite ramen place in the area! Love their noodles and the Kitakata Ramen broth is mild if you don't want something too soy-forward, or too rich (as much as I love I love tonkotsu, need a break sometimes). The pork is meltingly tender and the only other topping is green onion, though you can add others. On a week night it was pretty quiet but picked up before we left. They have added a Hawaiian BBQ menu, but it's the ramen that will always draw me back!!

Yelp
Michael, Michael, Michael. Our server was professional, courteous, and super friendly. Very knowledgeable and understanding. Thank you Michael for the great service. The food was extremely high quality, the meat in particular. Kind of cool they had both a ramen and a hawaiian BBQ restaurant in one, so we ordered off both menus. The chicken from the hawaiian BBQ menu was amazingly and surprisingly juicy.
google avatar

Randy W.

Yelp
So they finally get the Hawaiian BBQ done right! They stopped burning it to where it's inedible... Thank you so much as I have missed having it. I did not post a 2-star review for burnt inedible chicken as I didn't want to hurt Kitakata as they have the best ramen hands down as I have always been a raving fan. Luckily, this location is bouncing back and I may actually go dine-in again soon.

Yelp
Great, unique ramen experience. I've been to the store in Hoffman Estates and the quality is consistent. My miso broth was flavorful, good chew on the crinkly noodles, and egg was cooked perfectly. Chashu was fatty and tender. Although the bowls are pricey, the additional toppings, even extra chashu, are reasonably priced. Service is good and there's plenty of seating available.
google avatar

Melissa T.

Yelp
Great flavor, great chew to the noodles. Excellent service! Also had the Hawaiian style chicken and beef. The beef was good but couldn't differentiate the karaage from the "Hawaiian" fried chicken. Was hoping for more of a soy garlic flavor but was still delicious.

Yelp
Incredible!!!! Can't believe I haven't been coming here this whole time... delicious ramen and amazing service, highly recommend the Tan Tan Ramen with Tahini broth, absolutely delicious, the best ramen broth in all of Chicago!

Yelp
decided to be spontaneous and try a Ramen restaurant. Ramen always seemed to be intimidating to me because I never knew what to put in it lol or what would be good. Upon entering the restaurant it's definitely a very nice place to grab a bite to eat. It's not overly formal, but you definitely feel comfortable sitting and eating in the restaurant. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I asked the waiters opinion on what to order and I definitely wanted to try something spicy and he suggested the Ramen that is pictured below . This restaurant is pork based Ramen just an FYI .The Ramen was so good. It was flavorful and seasoned to perfection. They give you so much food, you will definitely have 1-2 days of leftovers and it taste just as good as it is when I was in the restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised since I've only had Ramen two times in my life if you want some Ramen and you're in the area, definitely check this place out. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
This is the best ramen I've had in the western suburbs. The pork pot stickers were on point too. The sauces at the table are a soy sauce blend with a hint of toasted sesame oil and rice vinegar for adding to your pot stickers, then there's a reddish oil sauce for spicing up your ramen or whatever you want, really (I'm guessing it's a chili oil), and there's a reddish seasoning which I also added to my ramen but I would add that to the pot stickers next time I visit. The people working there seemed happy to be there. They were attentive to my needs and requests. I liked the vibe. I dined here alone, and I sat along the bar which gave me a view of the kitchen. I liked that tbh. I'm from Yorkville where we don't have any good Asian fare. But my brother lives in Lombard. So I'll have to visit this place with him and my sister-in-law next time I'm out that way.

Yelp
I saw some people complained about the prices. It's a tad bit expensive but nothing that will break the bank. Honestly, if people complain about spending $20, I would hate to see them go to a $$$-$$$$ steakhouse in Chicago. That will probably give them a heart attack. Kitakata is located near the movie theater. Lots of parking. Plenty of seating. Service could be improved, more attention to the customers. -Chashu ramen 5/5. Generous amount of meat -Miso ramen 5/5 -juicy fried chicken 5/5. I like to get it in the bowl. They give you a lot so you can take leftovers to work the next day. -Gyoza 4/5. Still pretty solid.
google avatar

Yelp
for transparency, it's a 4+ stars for food always. their food is always consistently really good 3 stars for the service :( we've loved Kitakata when it's only location was in Hoffman estates. was so happy when it moved closer to us in Lombard. But the last 2 visits we had at this location, the service just doesn't sit well. they can't get my order right! lack of attention to detail in service. almost like they don't care. and prices are high! so tips ideally would be high, but the service doesn't match. i usually love the spicy miso ramen if you like spicy. we love the gyozas pan fried. and chicken karaage is yum yum. so tread lightly. come for the food, but service is lacking.

Yelp
I'm another vegetarian here to say there's only one main dish option (vegan ramen) and one side (edamame, your choice of regular or spicy). I concur with other reviewers that the broth is delicious - I'm not a miso fan, but this was very tasty, if a bit bland, and the tofu was nicely spiced too. I'm glad there's a vegan option, but it's a bit frustrating to have ONE on a four-page menu. Vegan ramen includes fresh spinach; cabbage (more than I needed), grated carrots, noodles (regular or wheat-free), crunchy garlic and sesame oil. There's a full page menu of items to add to your ramen; I think ramen should always have green onions, so I added them (generous portion), pickled ginger, and a mix of chile and sesame seeds. The table has chili oil and soy sauce; if I come back, I'd add boiled vegetables and try more chili oil. The regular size was filling for one hungry lunch diner; I ate all the noodles I could find and about half the broth. Setting is a bit spare, chilly with hard wooden seats, fancy minimalist lamps. Service was attentive and the ramen came out very fast. Parking was a bit full at lunch but cleared out by 1pm. Ramen with adders plus green tea (a mug of hot water plus a tea bag) was $25 plus tip. No cash; you can't split the check more than three ways.

Yelp
My two companions LOVED this place. I am not a ramen fan, so I am relying on them. I will tell you spicy means SPICY.

Yelp
Amazing food and service, Allie was wonderful!!! Order the gyoza, it's so good. The ramen was delicious

Yelp
I'm a fan of Kitakata ramen and was so excited that one opened up closer to home, rather than going all the way to Hoffman Estates. I've been to the HE location plenty of times so I had high expectations. I really wanted to give more than 2 stars but then I'd be lying. The gyoza was pan fried with a yummy crispy bite but lacked flavor. Fried chicken and dipping sauce was really disappointing. Though it lived up to its name "juicy fried chicken," that's all that it was. It LACKED flavor big time. The sauce normally has this umami flavor and it was just missing something. I even added the gyoza sauce to spruce it up and it was just meh. I ordered the regular size Kitakata ramen with a soy sauce egg, and an extra 5 pieces of chashu. Again, disappointed in my meal. The broth tasted like it could have used hours and hours of more simmering. Instead it tasted like a light pork broth that just wasn't ready to be served just yet. The service could have been a little more attentive all around, and not just at my table. I noticed people had been sitting there for a while waiting to put their order in, while a table needed bussing. Though they could've been short staff too, regardless they were kind and did their best. It was really cold in the restaurant too. A couple walked in, sat, and left right away at how cold it was in there. You had to eat with a coat on. I'm indifferent about coming back to the Lombard location. This is the 2nd time and it hasn't been consistent. Hoffman Estates has been true to their flavors every time.

Yelp
This place has the best ramen i've ever had. I go pretty much every weekend and look forward to it all week. The vegan miso ramen is so good and when you order additional toppings they give you so much more than most places. ^_^
google avatar

Dennis W.

Yelp
Most filling ramen place I've been to so far. This is also the best tasting one in my opinion. Quality- the green chili shio packs a lot of heat and still tastes fresh and hearty. I liked the added touch of green onions and lettuce to offset the meat broth and pork belly. The ramen is also thick and absorbs taste well. The fried chicken is juicy and crispy. It did not disappoint! However, it felt cheap with the peanut sauce in a plastic cup. I suggest getting rid of it. The sauce did not taste fresh. The spicy miso is tasty too. I liked the spinach and carrot flavor with some hot thick pieces of spicy ramen. Everything blended together well. The green tea matcha kinda sucked. They didn't even fill the cup and tasted cheap. Quantity- u get a crap ton of ramen for the price. Atmosphere- feels unique and open. Service- pretty fast.

Yelp
Kitakata Ramen is a Japanese chain restaurants with locations in California and Illinois. This location is tucked in a strip mall near Oakbrook, but you won't just pass by it. The interior is clean and modern. Staff was friendly. The Ramen is good but a little different than the usual yellow noodles with Tonkotsu soup based. They also offer a Hawaiian bbq menu that is close enough, considering there are very few to no Hawaiian food in the Chicago area. The place was relatively quiet on the weekend but busier during wekday lunch hours.
google avatar

Charlie S.

Yelp
This authentic Japanese ramen shop had place in New York as well but unfortunately closed during pandemic. Still a few in Chicago area and CA locations doing great. I just wanted quick ramen dinner but ended up with a draft beer and gyoza in addition to kitakata ramen. I asked to make ramen after I finish beer and gyoza and it did exactly as I asked. House made gyoza tasted great but small size looking a little poor, so I wish to make it a little bigger. Ramen looks as I liked, and not too salty soup but noodle was a bit over cooked. Possible cooked noodle held until I'm ready. Soup was hot though.

Yelp
Noods noods noods... The only kind I want in my DM's LOL This spot has pretty consistent food. Service can be spotty which is similar to the other location in Hoffman Estates....but for the most part ok. Enjoy the crispy chicken and grilled pork to eat as apps or with my ramen. On my most recent visit tried the curry katsu and it had a lovely flavor...not too salty, bland, or spicy. Ample parking since it's in a strip mall.

Yelp
I stopped in for lunch on Sunday and was able to be seated right away. There was plenty of seating in the restaurant. It seemed like people were coming & going also for pickup orders. There is a vegetarian ramen, which is always a good sign of a menu. They also had a Hawaiian menu - I'm not sure if it's part of their restaurant or if they're working with a different restaurant. I ordered the Tan Tan Ramen. I was looking for something spicy. There were quite a few spicy options. I had asked the server for a recommendation and this and the Spicy Miso were the ones she recommended. The regular bowl is pretty ample in size! I would say get the large if you're hungry or sharing with more people. I had enough leftovers for another meal! The prices on their menu on their website do not reflect the current prices, so be aware if you're looking on the website. Everything was around $15-17 for a regular bowl, then $20+ for a large bowl. I'd definitely come back again!

Yelp
This food was out of this world! I never would've guessed this unassuming ramen restaurant in Lombard would be as amazing as it was. The employees were kind, the chef came out to chat with us. Cannot wait to go back

Yelp
Prompt service, clean environment with delicious food. We will return. The chicken and gyoza were excellent, as was the ramen.
google avatar

Jeremy B.

Yelp
First time trying this place and have to say the rich miso ramen was excellent. Suggest adding a seasoned egg and the umami chilli for some kick. The service was good and everything was fresh. Another unassuming strip mall restaurant that delivers big time. Will be back soon.
google avatar

Rita B.

Yelp
Wow - I love this place and we've been back three times in 2 weeks. The ramen and gyozas are really good. Be prepared for some really fatty pork in the noodles however it really adds to the flavor. Gyozas are one of the better ones we've had in the area. The juicy chicken was good but what was phenomal was the sauce that came with it. I couldn't really tell what it was but some miso type sauce. It's in a strip mall so parking was plenty. We took bar seats the first time we were there so we didn't have to wait Overall a fantastic place to dine with great customer service

Yelp
Came here with one of my girl friend and omg so glad we did. Perfect for a cold night in Illinois. They seated us even though the kitchen was closing in 20 minutes which was so kind of them. Ordered: spicy miso ramen with a side of corn Portion: amazing size Flavor: delicious, flavorful, good amount of spice Noodle quality: their noodle is different than string noodles. The noodles were bouncy and kinda thick. Service: quick and kind They do give a good potion of pork belly and of course vegetables.

Yelp
Kitakata is a must try for ramen in the area. Chicagoland has been slow in the diversity of ramen shops that are so prevalent on the East and West coasts. Here we have something beyond the basics. Noodles are made fresh in-house, and you can taste the difference! Also the different broths also stand out from other places which tend to lean on the salty, over developed side. If you try the Kitakata or chashu ramens, you'll see what I mean immediately. Same for the miso stock! Don't sleep on the chicken appetizer either. It's a must, and can be shared! Don't overlook the don bowls, which have lots of umami as well! Kitakata is one of my new, favorite ramen spots!

Yelp
10/06/22 - I met up w/3 of my buddies/former co workers for lunch today. It's been just about 1 year since we met up. One of my buddies had never eaten Ramen before? Go figure? Talk about a sheltered life. I suggested Kitakata for Ramen in Lombard as 2 of da guys work out in Oakbrook. I had never been to this Kitakata in Lombard but had eaten at the Hoffman Estate location on numerous occasions and knew that they had excellent ramen. I called to make reservations and was told they don't accept reservations by a young lady named Akiko. From the first time I spoke to her on the phone w/her Japanese sing song voice I had a gut instinct that I was going to like her. When I arrived 2 of my buddies were already there. Our forth friend arrived and we proceeded to order some Sapporo beers while we perused the menu. As my instinct told me Akiko greeted me at the door & she was such a cute Japanese lady so friendly & likable a perfect person to be a greeter & server. I ordered the large chashu/pork belly ramen which comes w/large portions of tender succulent pork belly. The texture & flavors are excellent so delicious tender w/just the right ratio of pork meat to fat. 3 of us ordered the large portions which are very generous portions. We brought home enough for another meal The food as expected was excellent. Kitakata has become my favorite place in Chicagoland for ramen. They have excellent ramen & service. The restaurant is spotless & clean. Kitqkata Ramen Ban Nai originates from the northern part of Japan. Kitakata City in Japan where the Japanese love their ramen & Ban Nai in particular. With a small population of 54,000 people Kitakata has over 130 ramen eateries. Kitakata has more ramen shops/capita then and other place in Japan where ramen is king & part of their daily staple. I will be back when I'm in the area, but alas I live 24 miles away in Chicago. Highly recommend for excellent food & service. Thanks Akiko for making the meal much more pleasant.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try ramen since moving to the burbs and Kitakata DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! First of all - the service is above and beyond. We entered and they were so kind and encouraging and then the server provided a very detailed explanation of the menu and recommendations. It was definitely a wonderful experience just based on encounters with the staff. Tried the vegetarian ramen and it was incredible. The portion sizes are so large, the taste was savory and the tofu captured the flavor of the ramen. The other dishes we tried were also quite flavorful, large and enough to have for a second meal. The ambiance, quality of food and location is great. Definitely recommend coming here for your next Ramen experience!

Yelp
I don't get blown away by food & service often, so when I say I was WOWED here at Kitakata Ramen, I mean it!! First off I wanna say the service here is impeccable. Everyone greets you with a smile and is incredibly attentive and sweet. They'll be here to answer any of your questions and give you recommendations. The place itself is more spacious than it looks like from the outside and is super clean and authentic looking. Ample parking, as well. The food.... moment of silence, please. Their ramen, gyoza, and fried chicken rice bowl were 10/10 out of this world. Portion sizes for the ramen are huge, even when you order a regular. I got the aburi miso ramen with more bean sprouts and an added egg. Easily one of the best ramen I've ever had. Not too salty, so much flavor, and stacked with noodles and assorted toppings. It was my first time trying chashu, as well, and it definitely set the bar high for all the other chashu I'll try in the future. The pan fried gyoza were perfectly fried and crispy. With the dipping sauce or on their own, they were the best gyoza I've ever tried (my server recommended dipping the gyoza in the ramen and it was AMAZING!) Their fried chicken rice bowl also blew me away. I didn't even think much of it until I tried it with the special sauce it came with. Literally superb!!! Needless to say I will be back. I don't have anything negative to say about this place. The food is impeccable, and so is the service. So so happy they opened up a second location here in Lombard. If you want some delicious ramen, gyoza, and fried chicken, Kitakata is the way to go!

Yelp
With only a hand full of locations in the US at this time (and growing) and a decent number of locations in Japan, this place is legit! Been here several times over the past year and their business is growing. Use the waitlist feature in Yelp to save a spot during weekends! My daughter is a picky ramen connoisseur and this is her favorite spot in the country so far. Great value for the money, great appetizers, and also the list of addons for your ramen. Veggie, meat and chicken options. Water and hot tea are served automatically. Heck even their hot tea is good by itself!

Yelp
AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING PLACE. I defenitely recommend this place is you like Ramen. I have tried ramen at the Michelin star resturant but honestly this play has best Ramen. I went with my girlfriend and the staff is very friendly. We ordered Vegan spicy ramen, eemamme, Fried Gyoza and Juicy Fried Chicken Bowl and everything was super super tasty. We were served the Hot tea in the begining which was also amazing. As i mentioned earlier, the staff was very friendly and helping and took good care of me and my girlfriend. The place has a decent ambience and traditional decor. Unfortunately, they do not have any desserts in the menu so we had to go somewhere else just for the desserts. Suggestion: I would have liked if they would have asked for more tea or placed a kettle to refill. Definitely recommended this place to everyone. They will customize the food for you too.

Yelp
The service in this place is really good , everyone is friendly and smiley . Our server gave us recommendations and showed us what are the best sellers on the menu . We got the fried chicken with rice , octopus teriyaki balls , dipping ramen and spicy ramen . The last one was my favorite, the broth is very flavorful , And the noodles are chewy but not over cooked at all . I couldn't eat it all and took the rest home , can't wait to eat it on my lunch break !! The fried chicken is also amazing , cooked to perfection .

Yelp
I started Kitakata with the Hoffman Estate location and love the ramen and karaage. This location in Lomba used to be as good. A month ago, I visited the restaurant and the quality of food and service has gone downhill. The spicy miso ramen tasted bitter, the karaage was just like any plain American fried chicken. The Japanese taste and service vibes were gone. I will try the Hoffman Estates location maybe to confirm my experience.

Yelp
Hidden treasure! Kitakata Raken is tucked away in an unassuming strip mall but is worth the trip! Ample parking. Tasty ramen! Portions are ample. The pork belly is amazing. The egg is probably the tastiest add on. Apps are good too! We like the gyoza and fried Chicken. The sparkling plum wine was an affordable and refreshing add on. Can't wait to get back and try it again!

Yelp
First...let's talk about the soybeans...AMAZING. Of course you'll want to order a noodle bowl. Handmade in house noodles and broth. And you can add on whatever toppings suite your mood. You won't be disappointed with whatever you pick. The only problem is that you'll also want to order the chicken bowl. Equally amazing. Don't know how you'll make that decision. Never mind, order them both. The staff was kind, helpful and cheery. The kitchen timing was great. Everything was clean and bright. And-there are vegan options!

Yelp
We normally dine at the Hoffman Estates location and absolutely love it there. We were in town for a Yelp event and we were searching for something local and pleasantly found this location. My husband had his usual favorite a large bowl of Chashu Ramen and I ordered something brand new that I never tried before it was the same Chachu pork but it was cooked a little more and served over rice. I ate it about halfway through and my husband kept looking at my food like he wanted to eat it, so I let him have the rest. It was really delicious and I highly recommend it. Everybody who works at this location is extremely nice and took really good care of us. I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try... you will not be disappointed

Yelp
The best Ramen Noodles I have ever eaten. Brought the family here for dinner Saturday night. Service was prompt, polite and attentive. We started with edamame and everyone had a different main dish. I had the Umakara Tan Tan Ramen and can say without a doubt that the combination of the spongy, chewy noodles, the flavorful broth and the Cubed Toro Chashu is brilliant. I am already looking forward to our next visit :-)

Yelp
Food was good I did pick up the chicken was a lil burnt just some pieces not all tho. The Mac salad tasted okay it wasn't hitting on much it was missing something. Everything else was good especially for the price.

Yelp
This place was pretty good. I had a combo and the chicken was awesome but the beef was sort of tough and stringy. Ramen was a little oily for me as well. Service was nice and pretty quick. I ordered take out but the place looked clean and had seating there.

Yelp
Unassuming spot with utterly delicious ramen! I have literally been showing people pictures of my ramen, encouraging to imagine how delicious it was- I doubt if imagination comes close. The tan tan ramen is topped with chili oil and has bite sized pieces of the most tender pork. I added a seasoned egg for the ultimate bowl of comfort. I can with a group of friends after a long week and we agreed that the ramen felt like a hug from the inside. Service was quick enough and there was plenty of seating for all.

Yelp
Legit delish!! 6 stars! We had the spicy miso and the tan tan... I have had ramen several times and always found it underwhelming... that was not my experience today! I will be back. The tan tan was ahh maz ing! I am sold! It was incredibly delicious! The restaurant was fairly steady, clean and straightforward... albeit it felt a little warm inside. The food was quick and the service was good! I do have a tiny suggestion if the restaurant happens to see this.. I would suggest listing possible allergens on the menu. It seemed as though the tan tan may have contained peanut?? Honestly! This place was fantastic! I will be back! Thank you for the delish food!
