Kitanda Espresso & Açaí Review - Green Lake - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Whether it’s running, biking, playing basketball, or attempting to walk your dog while repeatedly stopping to let strangers pet her, chances are, you’re near Green Lake to do some kind of physical activity. If you want to eat clean after working out, the best option is an acai bowl from Kitanda. Kitanda is a Brazilian cafe where you’ll find these frozen berry bowls topped with really good homemade granola." - Aimee Rizzo

Very friendly and quick service! Açaí bowls come in large portions! Comes in a plastic tub but I would say it’s study enough to be kept as a reusable container, which is nice. I got the Frutas, if you like an assortment of fruit/medley, would highly recommend this one! They give lots of sweet and fresh fruit, and the dry toppings are a nice balance/crunch! Got a flan as well, just the right amount of sweetness. Nice and smooth texture, with a good amount of sweet sugar syrup to go with it! I accidentally ordered a hot espresso using the self-order screen but I quickly went up to them and asked for an iced one which they were able to quickly change for me. Overall, very open well-lit store and low-key/chill atmosphere. Will be back to try some of their bakery items, frozen items, and take a closer look at the stuff they have in the other small room on the side! First time coming here today since my husband asked me to pick up a coffee for him, he said it was really good and he’s usually pretty picky about his coffee. Looking forward to coming back again with him!

Best drip coffee! To be honest i did not expect it because it was in a thermos but it really was delicious! Also they had the coconut treats. I'll post pictures of it they were very yummy too.

Nice neighborhood cafe with some light food options and snacks! Also has a supermarket area where you can buy all sorta of Brazilian goods. The smoothies and coffee are great! Really loved the Acai smoothie I got. The lattes were also both very pleasant and not too bitter or over diluted with cream. The smoothie wasn’t overly sweet, which I loved. Thought the sandwiches were good, but I wasn’t a fan of the sour tasting meat pockets. I generally like them to be savory, but that could be a Brazilian thing. The bread though was very soft and fluffy. I really liked the chicken sandwich: the bread was very stretchy and there was a good amount of cheese with arugula. Sort of like a Costco chicken bake on steroids.

Save yourself from expensive acai bowls which they refuse to fill up all the way, leaving the container half empty. Not worth the money and when I brought it up to the customer service lady, she demanded I pay more in an unkind manner. I asked for honey on a separate container and I got it with a side of insects. Dirty unprofessional establishment. pease refrain from stepping foot here, and go to Nektar instead where they dont try to upcharge for substitutes and actually fill your container. Not to mention, equally priced with far more yummy fresh ingredients

It was awesome. The "Pão de queijo" sandwich was just like what I remembered from a trip to Brazil a very long time ago, both in flavor and texture. The staff was very friendly and authentic. Highly recommended.

Really nice place! Friendly and helpful staff. Mini market has a bunch of Brazilian items (like Mate gourds and loose leaf!). The Spinach, Egg, and Cheese Kitanda Bread looked and smelled so good I ate it before taking a pic. The pão de queijo 'bun' was amazing. I've only been to the Alderwood location previously and wasn't too impressed, but this location changed my mind.

I was very disappointed by the treatment I received at this cafeteria. The food may be good, but the way I was treated was unacceptable. When I came in to order coffee, I waited for more than 15 minutes while three employees stood at another counter. Two Brazilian women arrived after me, and one of the employees immediately went to serve them, completely ignoring me. When I politely asked for help, the employee called the manager as if I had done something wrong. Instead of taking my order, the manager began questioning me and then said, “It’s okay if you don’t order anything.” As a Black customer, I felt humiliated and discriminated against. No one should ever be treated differently because of their race. I hope the management takes this matter seriously and provides proper training to ensure equal and respectful treatment for every customer.

Been coming to this location for a bit now. Mobile orders are always done on time. Staff is always friendly and attentive. Food is delicious. Interior is clean and well lit up. Keep up the good work.
