I wish I could say my experience was just "bad," but honestly, horrible might still be too kind. I'll spare you the full dissertation and give you the cliff notes:
* Bathroom? Not working. Always a strong start.
* Cornbread bowl with crab and lobster? No crab. Okay, shrimp then? Four minutes later--no cornbread either.
* Pineapple jalapeño cocktail? Made with pineapple, tequila, jalapeño, and Tabasco... except mine arrived with zero jalapeño and zero Tabasco. They brought it out like I wouldn't notice two key ingredients missing. Spoiler: I noticed.
* Chicken & waffles? I asked for wings. Got drummettes. Cold, soggy, and unseasoned. Waffle was sad and bare, nothing like the menu photo. Also, no silverware because "the knives were being washed."
Now, credit where it's due: our server, Leilani, was doing her absolute best. She spent the entire meal apologizing for things completely outside her control. If I could rate her separately, I would.
Meanwhile, the other staff looked more focused on their lip gloss and outfits than on serving customers. When we checked in, we said we had a table under a name, and the hostess said, "We don't do reservations." we're literally on the list! Critical thinking should've been on the menu. She also tried to argue about adding a chair for our party of seven at a table she had set for six.
What makes this worse is that my first visit here was actually great! Food - , cool vibe, hot music. That's why I came back. But now? It feels like the place has hit rock bottom. I don't know if it's new management or just bad luck, but I won't be returning.
Sometimes restaurants run out of ingredients or have an off night, I get that. But when everything is broken, missing, soggy, or argumentative? That's not a bad night, that's a pattern.
