I recently had the pleasure of discovering Kitchen Combine in Arlington, Texas, a delightful family-owned and operated BBQ smoke spot that truly stands out in today's inflated market. My advice? Skip the overpriced restaurants and head straight here for a meal that’s worth every penny. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with friendly service that made me feel right at home. The portions were incredibly generous; I left with a to-go box because I couldn't finish everything on my plate. The chef's recommendation of oxtails was music to my ears, as it's one of my favorite dishes. Their version, smoked and BBQed to perfection, did not disappoint. The dirty rice was out of this world, packed with flavor, and the sweet beans were so satisfying that dessert wasn’t necessary. I paired my meal with an ice-cold Coke while the attentive staff ensured I had everything I needed throughout my visit. If you’re looking for a place that combines outstanding food, friendly service, and hearty portions, look no further than Kitchen Combine. I highly recommend this eatery – it’s a hidden gem in Arlington that you don't want to miss!

Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by friendly personnel, which set a positive tone for the visit. The music choice was great, though it was too loud for comfortable dining. Unfortunately, the menu did not match the advertising, which was disappointing. I tried the Rasta Pasta dish, and it was just okay, nothing exceptional. The sweet potato pie, however, was overly sweet, with sugar being the dominant flavor. While the food was just average, the friendliness of the staff stood out. I might give this place another shot when a different restaurant takes over. The people were wonderful, but the food was just “okay” .

This Review is for Kjs Kitchen. Customer Service was awesome everyone was very sweet. I love my potatoe salad sweet and flavored and this potato salad was the opposite. The greens were bland with no seasoning. The dirty rice was decent. The macaroni was on point. My Oxtail looked excellent but was very bland and unseasoned, that was very odd because the ribs were some of the best ribs I've ever had, they had a sweet and seasoned taste to them that should have been shared with the Oxtail. I absolutely recommend the ribs.! Overall this establishment was Just Okay.

I dined at this establishment during service from KJ's BBQ & Soul Food. The oxtails were amazing! The mac n cheese was good, a little heavy on the garlic, but it was still very good. The baked beans had good flavor but way too much sugar for me to eat them. My husband tried the brisket and loved it. He also tried the wings which very salty for some reason. I messaged the owner about it. He responded quickly and offered to refund me or provide us with a new meal. That kind of service will get my business any day. So I went back for ribs a couple days later and they were great. I think the quality of the plates are worth the value. If you eat oxtails I urge you to give these a try. Chef KJ don't change a thing about the oxtails! I also want to commend Kitchen Combine for doing this wonderful service for small businesses as well as us hungry consumers. This is awesome stuff!

Catfish Connection- Arlington/Mansfield Area vs. Catfish Connection - Dallas/Oak Cliff…. they are sisters not twins in comparison. Dallas/Oak Cliff establish has been on Kiest for decades. That cooking equipment is what you call seasoned holding flavor, lol! My dinner consist of Real Catfish not SWAI. My order was 3pcs Catfish Fillet; which does not mean 3 Catfish Fillets. The portion was 1 1/2 fillets ranging $18 total. This was my first visit (my 5yr old son accompanied me inside); we had a clean table to wait 20-25 mins for our order while listening to 90s R&B playing softly. Other customers were polite and patiently waiting…many online to go orders were in/out quickly! Nevertheless excited about not having to drive to Cedar Hill/Desoto/Dallas/OakCliff for decent fried CATFISH. May this establishment be blessed to continue serving our community, serve 100% Catfish consistently Fried with each order, & serve with a smile so that I feel welcome with each order.

This place was seen by a coworker in GA. So I decided to patronize the place. I ordered the ox tails. Please see the pic below. The total cost was 40 bucks plus tax. Although the food was good it was not worth the amount of money paid for the small portion. I would have rather had smaller oxtails in a larger portion. The dirty rice was dry and the greens could have been seasoned a little better. But again it was good just not worth almost 50 bucks

Came through to try yabettatalk2mellc. We ordered the gumbo which I was hesitant about because I’ve never had it with turkey. The wife had the crab legs and corn and I had the Gumbo, crawfish, corn, potato and the seafood dip. Now my only regret was not buying a bottle of the hot sauce to take home it was delicious. The gumbo, crawfish, and the crabs were all worth the 35 min drive.. I highly recommend this place. Every thing was seasoned really well and the place was spotless.

The two young people that were taking orders were very knowledgeable of the menu. I love the concept of a featured chef and menu every month. I ordered the jerk chicken nachos. Although tasty, I did not taste any jerk flavor on the chicken. This the only reason o didn’t give it 5 stars. I will definitely go back.

Yelp
My first time hearing about and trying out this location. They have a rotation of black chefs that come and sell their food monthly. This month was anime munchies who puts a soul twist on traditional Japanese cuisine. The ramen i had was delicious and very hearty despite the small bowl. It was cooked very well and the collard greens, sweet potatoes and fried chicken paired well together in the ramen.

Yelp
My experience at Kitchen Combine was great! I love the concept of having a different chef every month. For the month of May they have a chef offering fresh crawfish. I drove almost an hour just to try it out and it did not disappoint! The crawfish were all good sizes, fresh, well seasoned, and juicy. I paid about $61 for 5lbs of crawfish, 2 drinks, and 2 corn on the cobs and potatoes. I think that's a fair price for the amount and quality. The restaurant itself was very clean (including the restroom). The staff were friendly and attentive. I'm shocked that they have such low ratings but I attribute that to having different chefs each month, which may have different quality of food and options.

Yelp
First time trying kitchen combine ,but third time trying passion cafe . I must say that I've had a much better experience the previous times from passion cafe . Very underwhelming experience this time unfortunately. To start, kitchen combine features a new black owned restaurant on a rotating schedule each month. Passion Cafe has been a familiar place that Ive tried and enjoyed the quality and freshness each time . This time I could not attest to that . Salmon was dry, my wife said the steak was dry and majority was burnt . Wing prolly were the only highlight of the meal. Sad things is I payed $50 dollars for something that I didn't really enjoy and didnt feel was worth it. Restaurant in itself was quaint and accountable . Staff was friendly and courteous . I wish I could give this some more stars but all in all, it was a no for me.

Yelp
Unacceptable. The word that they sold out in 2 hours isn't because of quality of food, it's because they had short supply. $65 for a oxtail plate, a brisket sandwich and 2 drinks. These oxtails were NOT falling off the bone tender. The brisket was REHEATED and so were the sides. Mac N Cheese was so cold that whatever this white stuff is isn't incorporated in the food. The Pineapple Citrus tea is the star! Family, In the words of the great philosopher, Flavor Flav, DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE! When content creators come to restaurants, they get PAID to make food reviews. They usually the get best version of whatever the place sells. Customers arrive and get subpar experiences. The staff was courteous and the place was clean but the food, subpar. Beware out here.

Yelp
I hate giving small businesses bad reviews, but I also hate wasting money on food that is so bad that it's inedible especially paying $15-$20+ per plate. The hot chicken sandwiches were DELICIOUS, but for $15, at least you shouldn't be stingy with fries. The catfish was so horribly seasoned that my husband wouldn't even eat it. The lemonade and sweet tea were so sugary, that I feel like it gave me diabetes...my husband couldn't even drink the sweet tea and didn't recognize the flavor as even being sweet tea. I really hate giving this review considering they take pride in cleanliness and are incredibly friendly and polite. Obviously this is just my review based on my taste buds, but I had to share considering the circumstances.

Yelp
Such a great concept! The Chef changes monthly. A great opportunity to get their up and coming food out and you can be one of the first to try it. Of course, then you're going to want to follow up on your favorite chefs to see where they wind up in their permanent location. In the meantime, try to hit them up at least once a month and see what they have going on. March is Caribbean. Great food.

Yelp
Decided to give Kitchen Combine a try- truly wanted the BBQ oxtails- that chef was there last month, so I missed out... I ordered a 2pc catfish platter- which was just ok- poorly seasoned fish, soggy fries, pickle slices, ketchup, tarter sauce, $15.50, not the best. Excellent customer service at the counter- fiid just ok (my humble opinion). I'm good- :-;

Yelp
This new restaurant has been through sort of a rebrand I would say... It was a catfish place, which I think was sort of a franchise, although I had not experienced it previously. Now it's a new concept which I'm not sure it totally appeals to my unwillingness to try new things, well I would say it's not really unwillingness it's just that I am a creature of habit. If I like something I will return and if I have to keep starting over that causes me a little bit of having to come out of my shell to do something differently than I would normally do. So this restaurant now is going to feature a chef for a month, and then, after that, it will have a new chef. Since they've only had one so far, it appears to me that a lot of these are chefs that may cater or they've had a dream of being a chef and they do private meals for people, but they're just not out there enough to have their own place. So Kitchen combine is stepping up and offering them the opportunity to have their own place for a month. I think the chefs come up with what menu they want to serve and this restaurant ownership helps them put it out there so that people know about them and their business. I went on a Sunday and the options were more limited than during the week so I ended up just picking up a cake bowl by Cake daddy. I looked Cake daddy up and apparently there's a restaurant in Dallas where Cake Daddy is open a couple days a week, but it looks like he has been on several shows, and he sells these cakes to the public only on two days of the week. This cake bowl was amazing. I got the red velvet because again I'm a sucker for red velvet. It was moist. The icing was right and it was just delicious. I ate on that bowl because it's so large for about a week. I had to go to Michigan for work and I thought that the bowl Would have to be thrown away if I didn't take it with me so I took it with me so I didn't miss a beat. It looks like Kitchen Combine is one of the restaurants of which this cake is served. Now this is not part of their overall schematic of having a monthly chef, but they do distribute these cakes and, if not for anything, I will be back to pick up another cake bowl. Will definitely take a look at each chef and figure out if there is something that drives me to come in and try a new menu. For you adventure seekers, food adventure seekers, I say go to Kitchen combine and check out the various chef's food menus. With this sort of new concept, you are always sure to get something different and never be bored with the same old standard meal. The staff seems very knowledgeable about the meals that they're offering and all were very nice. They have lots of tables if you want to eat your food there. They can also package it for you to take it home. I say try Kitchen Combine as it seems like the next thing in restaurant concepts!

Yelp
I have been wanting to try the catfish at this restaurant, so I finally went and at first I thought the price was a little steep for some catfish but when I ate the fish it was the best catfish I've eaten, it was worth every penny I spent, I will definitely return. Customer service was also amazing.

Yelp
Drove from one Dallas to Arlington to try them out only to get there and told they were out of everything. I appreciate being told that but after standing in line for ten minutes at least give a voucher or something. Will never be back and I can't even review the food since they were out

Buford G.

Yelp
I usually give this place 5-stars. But today they get 2. I only ordered 10 wings and it took them over 30 minutes. They need to do better and more of a variety this month. The last two months have been AMAZING! Should offer more of a variety of sides.

Yelp
Gumbo Greens. Salmon and smothered potatoes, Fish, porkchop plates. Also the Jerk Nachos. Everything was good. I will be back.

Yelp
The Good: I ordered the whole catfish plate. The fish was big and it was catfish and it wasn't nasty. The tarter sauce was good. The fries that weren't soggy was good. The Bad: It wasn't seasoned well and the side that it was laid on had accumulated all the grease so one side was crispy and one said was soggy. Also it was laid on top of the fries which made half the fries soggy. Lastly the grease it was fried in had to be old because it was a burnt taste to the skin but up under the skin the meat was white and flaky but bland. The Conclusion: Considering this is a new location I don't understand why they aren't using fresh grease and leaving the fish in the grease to long. Secondly season your fish I had to do a little doctoring to make it tasty although the meat was good. Also let your fish rest and the grease drain off the fish before plating it maybe after the drainer rest on a paper towel. Business needs work and a kitchen manager who knows what they are doing. The receptionist and service was excellent, now if you can just get the food to match that quality I would.be a regular. As for now I think I'll drive to Fort Worth to seafood market unless and extreme emergency comes up then I'll try it again.

Yelp
Firstly the presentation of the food is fantastic BUT the prices for the food you get is outrageous! We got the blackened salmon and dirty rice and let me just tell you NOT WORTH IT. They give you a little piece of salmon and the rice is very salty not worth $20 and up. My friend got the catfish and fries , the fries were soggy and sort of remind you of five guys fries but not nearly as good. The catfish on the other hand was the only thing that salvaged this place . The catfish was crisp and well cooked. Other than that they need to lower their prices to what the food is really worth. We may try it when the chef switches !

Yelp
I loved the concept of the store and as a citizen of Barbados living in Arlington, I was excited to see a business that offered Caribbean food. I paid $17 for a medium-sized order of brown stewed chicken with 2 sides of jasmine rice and cabbage. Unfortunately, the only item that came close to the mark was the rice it was fluffy. The chicken and the cabbage were just seasoned mainly with pepper. I tasted some other spices that tried to prevail but that was hard as the chicken was boiled and that was clear from the consistency and depth of flavor in the sauce. To stew is a slow cooking technique that includes the addition of liquids at a slow rate. So disappointed! Customer service was a 5/5.

Kim G.

Yelp
I was hoping this was not another 'catfish' restaurant that serves SWAI, but it's not. As soon as I saw the curled fish strips, I knew it was Not catfish. Additionally, the prices are too high, for this cheap and mushy textured fish. The name should be The SWAI Connection. Giving 1 Star, because the app doesn't allow zero. Very Disappointed.

Rae G C.

Yelp
The catfish is real catfish not swai! The service was great, food came out pretty quick. I will be returning, I wanted to give them a review because the others were not to my experience at all.

LA H.

Yelp
Very mid. I ordered around noon and the food felt like it was cooked at 11. Fish has to be fresh. I might give it another shot
