San Francisco Chef Melissa Perello Says Parklet Issues Could Delay Reopening of Frances Restaurant | Eater SF

"A tiny restaurant in Albany run by Carrie Orth, a former Berkeley public school teacher, Kitchenette 625 serves sandwiches and snacks, boasts a single outdoor table, and also conveniently serves food to guests of its next-door neighbor Ocean View Brew Works, which is co-owned by Orth’s daughter Veronica “Vonnie” Davidson." - Dianne de Guzman

Google
A real gem! We tried their Four Cheese Melty and the seasonal Winter paninis. So delicious and really hit the spot. Can’t wait to try the other things on their menu next time.

They have food for land and sea food lovers alike. The smoked white fish paired amazingly with the pickled onions and pickles. The ham pannini was bomb. Will come back again.

Love this place! Great place to grab a quick lunch to go or snacks if you’re drinking at Oceanview next door. Great service and great food. The folks here are lovely.

Google
Not a cafe; it’s a bar/tiny pub with a kitchenette making bar food-ish next door. Super cute for that! Indoor outdoor and sunny. But I came for a cafe since it comes up on Google for that, and no. Smell of beer in the air, no backs on any chairs, no one there at all in the afternoon..come for beer later!

Google
This place AMAZING. The food is fresh and delicious. It’s a cozy place to get a bite and treats, not to mention the warm owners who are an adorable mother and daughter team! Highly recommend checking this place out — so excited for their new toasts!

Yelp
Came here for brunch and it was a little interesting in the fact that you can order in here (basically a kitchen with a very small store front) take it to go, eat outside in front (1 table and 2 chairs) or eat it next door at the brewery. Honestly it was pretty confusing and I didn't really understand. They also didn't explain it I had to ask if they had a back patio and she said next door. Prices were kind of high, wait time was awhile, there was only one person making the food. They also don't have lattes or espresso here (next door does). No parking lot, just street parking. Service was okay. Overall, pretty average experience.

Yelp
We love this place!! Wow! Such creativity with all the sandwich choices. The only difficulty here is that it's so hard to decide which thoughtfully crafted, tasty, scrumptious sandwich you will order. But you can't go wrong, each offering is spectacular. And the shakes, OMG!! We make up reasons to drive across the bridge even when the traffic is fierce, just so we can go to Kitchenette, you should too!

Yelp
This little spot has a simple delicious menu. I had ordered the hot dog and they tell you to wait for it at the brewery next door, so added bonus in giving me no choice to have a tasty brewski! The hot dog was delicious!! 10/10

Yelp
The menu isn't big but it has good diversity, the food was delicious and reasonably priced. The ladies making it were incredibly friendly and quick, they even offer to bring it next door for you if you want to enjoy a beer at the microbrewery since there isn't much space to sit inside Kitchinette. 10/10, would recommend.

Yelp
Kitchenette 625 is a "micro kitchen" in soft opening mode. it's next to Ocean View Brewery. Carrie Orth is a food veteran in the bay area. she co-owns 625 with her partner who brews artisan Indian coffee. offerings: bagels, paninis, snacks. canned eats, artisan eats, Indian coffee. . eats: smoked salmon bagel (9.50) made with boichek everything bagel, smoked salmon, tomato, red onions, cream cheese, capers,cucumber,.. -tasted fresh and delicious. freshly made. take outs: -limited seating in front, more seating available at Ocean View Brewery's patio when they are open. -panini bread freshly made here also. -more hours available. not posted on window.

Yelp
I'm addicted to this place. This is amazing quality, delicious food in the East Bay. My new go-to spot in the East Bay If you like Bartavelle, Standard Fare, or Chez Panisse, you'll love Kitchenette! Make sure to try their baguette/focaccia sandwiches, whether it be their veggie sandwiches that make vegetables crave worthy or their italian sausage loaf sandwich! Food is made with attention to detail, like buttering up the baguette to my sandwich and making a homemade herb mayonnaise. Every time I come to Kitchenette every section of my sandwich tastes so good, whether it be the lemon dressed brussel sprouts or the crisped to perfection bread. Wonderful, welcoming, and warm ambience. Veronica and her mother are so sweet and the space is lovely and put together with so much thought.

Yelp
I so appreciate how accommodating they are with adjusting menu items for kids. I like that the menu changes frequently and usually includes options with lots of veggies. I always enjoy the sandwiches , toasts, soups and tots I try! Love hanging out at Ocean View and enjoying the food with a beer. All in all, an exemplary Family-run business and I feel lucky they are in the neighborhood.

Yelp
My Wife and I were greeted with smiles and service from Carrie and Veronica. Family run crafted eatery that gives detail to eye appeal and flavor. We were impressed how they go so many items on our lil' charcuterie platter. We got one of each and shared. With the beer from next doors pub (also family) we were stuffed, but pleasantly so. Its always a please to meet people that enjoy their work and customers. Cheers. It was delish.

Yelp
What a delightful little spot. I got the Big Easy, which was delicious and Carrie who runs the place is one of the nicest business owners in the Bay! Plus, it's extremely well priced. Worth a stop!

Yelp
I had the best avocado toast and a delicious coffee while sitting at a table on the sidewalk in front of the kitchenette. Everything was glorious. I also bought a loaf of banana bread to bring home, which I expect will hit the senses in a just-as-amazing way.

Yelp
My partner and I were looking for a place to grab lunch after walking around the Berkeley Rose Garden area, and this place was at the top of Yelp's recommendations for us. While it was a lot smaller than I was expecting, and with an unusual way of doing seating, what we ordered was tasty, fresh, not overly heavy, interesting, and extremely reasonably priced. The Ambiance: this is a small cafe with a relationship with the brew pub next door (Ocean View Brew Works). Kitchenette is tiny, and has no indoor seating of its own (a small table and two chairs sits outside of it), you are directed to take your table number into the pub next door if you want to be seated inside, or in the pub's spacious outdoor patio. The atmosphere is funky and cozy, and very informal. You can order a tea or water from either the kitchenette or the pub, or order a kombucha, cider or beer with your lunch from Ocean View Brew Works. Food: We had the mushroom toast with soft boiled egg on top, and the Autumn Harvest (?, I think that's what it was called) panini. Toast was perfect, mushrooms well seasoned and a little garlicky, and egg perfectly cooked. Panini had a great mix of crunchy veggies, purple cabbage slaw, and meat. Bread for both items tasted fresh and yummy. I'd definitely came back again with a group to eat here, and have drinks at Ocean View.

Yelp
This place has the most delicious and creative paninis!! It has become my Thursday lunch routine. I've had their mushrooms & asparagus on focaccia, lentil salad panini, ham & cheese on baguette, and The Nest (house-made spread, boiled eggs, cream cheese) on Boichik Bagels. Everything has been absolutely yummy and made with love and magic dust. It is a small, charming place next to a brewery with friendly staff and many other offerings from local artisans. I look forward to seeing this place flourish as I am loving my new weekly lunch routine! ;)

Yelp
Cute place next to the Ocean Works brewery on San Pablo. Very good sandos or bagels. It's a thoughtful and very good yet simple sandwich spot. Can take food into the brewery. Super nice people. Food quality is very high. Selection is small so that they keep quality high! Selection changes frequently. I like it

Marc E.

Yelp
Absolutely killer sandwiches. Very nice folks. Beer garden next door where you can get food brought to you. Beautiful symbiosis.

Yelp
I highly recommend this spot! The food is so fresh and incredibly tasty. I can't wait to go back for another panini sandwich- with a side of house made pickles that are to die for! Such a savory and satisfying lunch. And it is run by the nicest people you will ever meet. Take my advice- you will love it.

Yelp
Their panini sandwiches are easily the best around town. And when paired with the delicious Kaveri coffee that they serve, it's a delicious combination. A real hidden . Highly recommended!

Yelp
Though the food took a while to be ready on a Saturday afternoon, it was outstanding. My husband had the tuna sandwich, which was neither fishy nor predictable. My hot dog with caramelized onions and blue cheese was subtle and delicious. (My only recommendation would be for them to use a firmer bun with so much topping; it was really messy.) The fries were perfect- not so garlicky that you're tasting it hours after. And the shakes were excellent- flavorful and rich. Eager to go back!

Yelp
The food was delicious--down-to-earth but still a little elevated. Loved the strawberry milkshake with chunks of strawberry. The owner was super friendly. We'll definitely be back!
