We were recommended Kiti Panit General Store by our hotel concierge and the front desk team when asking for a place that offered authentic Northern Thai flavors but in a comfortable, sit-down restaurant setting rather than street food. It turned out to be an excellent recommendation. The restaurant is housed in a beautifully restored teakwood mansion dating back to 1888, and you can immediately feel the history and character of the place. The atmosphere combines heritage charm with a modern touch - elegant, cozy, and full of local details that make it special. We arrived without a reservation around 8:30 PM, and the restaurant was packed. A large group occupied the main table, and every other table was full. Still, the staff was incredibly kind and efficient - they found us a table within minutes and made us feel welcome right away. We ordered several main dishes, including the pork satay, Northern-style pork curry, and grilled chicken, along with their homemade lemongrass and hibiscus iced teas (which they kindly prepared without sugar upon request). Everything was served promptly and beautifully presented. The flavors were fantastic - rich, balanced, and distinctly Northern Thai. You could really taste the freshness of the ingredients and the care that went into each dish. The pork curry was especially delicious - full of depth and perfectly spiced - and the pork satay was tender and flavorful. For dessert, we tried the grilled mango with sticky rice, which was a creative twist on a classic. The combination of textures and the subtle smoky flavor from the grill made it a memorable ending to a great meal. Overall, this restaurant perfectly captures the essence of Northern Thai cuisine in a charming, historic setting. Excellent food, quick and friendly service, and a warm atmosphere - it’s easy to see why locals and visitors alike recommend it. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Chiang Mai.

Amazing service and atmosphere. The food was good but I would rate it 4/5 given I don’t think any dishes were extraordinary. Was also a bit disappointed by the Larb Gai which was in Northern style (more dry, quite peppery with lots of spices) instead of being more juicy. That wasn’t the restaurant’s fault and just a personal preference. Enjoyed the Khao Soi and a Thai tea, alongside other dishes. Loved all the vegetables too! Overall, would recommend trying this place! Must get a reservation given they are quite busy and we tried to walk-in for dinner and failed. We booked by calling their number for lunch.

The food was not so authentic and disappointing. The fish that we ordered lack freshness as the meat has turned very soft rather than succulent. The chargrilled flavour is not soaked in and thus is not aromatic. Service was generally good as we walked-in but the fish was a little late. Atmosphere was fine.

Excellent food, everything was amazing. Cocktails are also great. Would definitely come back. The only downside was that waitresses were a little too stressed running around (need to hire more?). We felt that, it wasn't great. Also they've forgotten about our order or for whatever reason it took them more than 30-40 min to cook mushroom salad. If you coming for dinner, make sure to book it, especially on Friday or weekend.

A friend introduced this place to us. We walked right by it because the Google maps pin was one building over. Look for the pictures and follow the building facade. The food here was immaculate, the northern pork curry was so tender the meat fell apart in the dish. The tomato relish was delicious when paired with the chincaron we also had the fermented tea salad which was interesting and the star was the grilled omelette. So divine. You must try the rice ball dessert. It so good!

Beautiful historic restaurant with exceptional Northern Thai cuisine. Kiti Panit offers a truly elegant dining experience - the restored heritage house is stunning, and the atmosphere feels both refined and welcoming. The food is outstanding: rich Northern Thai flavors, beautifully plated dishes, and high-quality ingredients. The service is warm and attentive without being intrusive. A perfect place for a special dinner in Chiang Mai. Highly recommended.

Very well executed versions of all the Chiang Mai and Lanna classics. Hung lay moo, northern sausage, and crying tiger were all excellent. Absolutely worth the extra couple dollars per dish. Cocktails were great as well. The decor has that really cool combination of modern and centuries old that you get in the nicer Chiang Mai restaurants.

One of the best stir-fried chayote dishes I’ve had! All the dishes were authentic and delicious, though the pork satay was quite dry and took almost 20 minutes to arrive. That said, the place itself is beautiful and full of charm.
