Kitsch Bar

Cool spot, came here on a Monday looking for a place that stays open late, this place blew my expectations for a regular bar, we had a DJ playing house music, the strobe ball was cool, great low lit ambience, felt like a goth bar with a modern kick to it, booth seating was comfy and spacious. Drinks acceptable, had a few beers on tap and Espresso Martini, this is now my mid week go to spot. Definitely will come back.

Be careful I came to this place two days ago with my friends. When I ordered drinks, the bartender asked if I wanted to keep my tab open — I said yes. At the end of the night, when I asked for the bill, it was $75 for 5 or 6 drinks. Today, I checked my bank app and saw that I was charged twice: one charge for $100 and another for $46, even though I only used my card once for $75. I’m very disappointed and confused about these extra charges. I hope this gets resolved. Or i will report to the proper authorities

Great cocktail bar and lounge with music and events pretty much every night. Great bartenders, nice redlit ambiance, and a nice drink selection. Staple Costa Mesa watering hole.

This bar has all the newest top 40 and rnb hits playing! I loved that the bartender could listen to what you want as a drink and recreate it perfectly. Will definitely be back!!

This is a cute bar. The drinks were all short and fine. Not great. They were fine. The Long Island Ice Tea I ordered was almost all ice, served in a short glass and not very good at all. It was also $16. The drinks are very high priced but you’d never know because there is no drink menu or prices in sight. The bartender that closed that night made the worst drinks. His name is David and could be heard yelling on his cell phone that there was no one in the bar so he was closing early. Maybe if the drink was as stiff as the bill more people would have stayed. The restrooms were filthy. I won’t ever go back again.

Love the redesign, totally improved. Friendly crowd, EXCELLENT music the last time I was there. I will definitely be back.

I've always loved this bar. They don't really advertise, so locals love that it's an (almost) hidden gem. Drink prices are cheap. No food here, but they allow you to bring in outside food. The DJs here are top notch. Depending on what's going on, there may be a cover charge. Parking is the only potential negative. Often we have to park across the street and do the run to Kitsch.

Haven't been here in years, and the new remodel is really nice. Selection is great, and so is the service. Will definitely come back some other time when in the area. Parking can be terrible on a busy night with other popular restaurants in the area.

Our bartender was juan, he was the chillest coolest bartender i've had in a while! Usually I have bad experiences with bartenders because I got usually get attitude, but with him, he was patient, nice kind & have I saidd how creamy his espresso martini are!!

It's a diamond in the rough. Juan, the bartender, draws me there. He sets a remarkable example for how to treat the clientele. He's interesting, engaging and has a gift for making exceptional cocktails! The music is diverse and eclectic, very reflective of the atmosphere. It's a unique place to chill out or dance the night away. Juan makes a ridiculously good Gin Old Fashioned! Make sure you pitch yourself up at the bar when he's there. Side note, he has a wicked sense of humor that will have you laughing out loud.

Overcharged and bullied by Juan. Ambiance and bar patrons were great all night, but service was definitely lacking. Juan also under poured every drink I ordered. 1.25 oz is not a shot guy. I didn't mention it because we were trying to have a good time, but i think someone needs to learn their counts if they aren't going to use jiggers. This was my first time at kitsch bar and my last. I'll be sure to let everyone know about the discriminatory service they provide. I'm shocked to see such a high rating on here. Must've been pre-Juan days..

Looking for a dive bar? Then look no further. Came here on a Saturday night around 9pm and the place had only a few tables taken up, plenty of bar space. Music was really good. 90's hip hop and R&B which is my jam so I was loving it. Sofiea was our bartender and she took great care of us. We ordered a couple of rounds and only told her what spirit we wanted and she whipped up some delicious drinks. Her drinks were a reflection of her and so she made sure we enjoyed our drinks. Pretty cool and hard to find from a bartender these days. Gave us the feel that we were regulars but it was actually our first time here! We will definitely come back.

Environment was great. Dimly lit and a disco ball over the dance floor displaying great club rotating colors throughout the bar. Clientele was cheerful and diverse all of which proved to be having a great time. Drinks were good and prices were surprisingly low for a night out. Bartenders were friendly and quick. The five stars was difficult to give because I would have preferred a bit more variation in music but that is just a personal preference and I am old at 54 (almost 55 lol) but I did know most of the music and did a lot of couch dancing and could barely keep from getting out on the dance floor. You can dress up or down and fit in. All-in-all this new find was a positive for us. We will be back for sure!

Out Homegirl was djing last Thursday night and it was an absolute blast It's a quaint little place with a busy parking lot so beware but I love that they do have fortaleza. BONUS POINTS! Service was excellent. Shoutout to the bartenders for taking care of us and they have a cool little keg urinal in one of the bathrooms. Very creative! There wasn't any food but we did buy some chips across the street and I brought them in haha! If I'm ever in the area for a dope little dive bar I'm always down to visit. Especially after some manpuku or kitakata.

I love this spot!!! Super fun, karaoke and the best drinks!! The bartender Juan is awesome. He was very attentive and had an amazing convo all night. His humor was contagious and made the night even more fun!! Come here for a great time!!

Found this place on Yelp because it was one block from my hotel. I walk in and they have happy hour til 8 and karaoke too! Where do you get a bottle of beer for $4 in OC?! On top of that an amazing bartender named Britney who also sang great. A very cool small dive bar.

Love this place. Location's great parking is always a breeze, ambience is very chill. Karaoke sundays is always a good time with Heather. Juan and the other bartenders are great, drinks are well-made with good selection.

Juan was an awesome bartender and heather with the karaoke has the voice of an angel and puts on the most fun karaoke shows. If you want to take some cute pics too the lighting and decor is so cute 10000/10 recommend this local lounge bar

We have been there twice since their renovation and had a good experience! The place is small, and only has a few tables, but it is a fun atmosphere! The service (bartenders) are quick. Get there early if you want to be able to talk, as the music gets loud!

Have not been back since the remodel. The first time myself and my husband came back we met a cute brunette on Wednesday who served a Britney Bitch drink I think she said it was her drink it was amazing! I came back with my friends this last Friday and she was there her name is Brittney she was still smiling while so busy. My friends were not fond of a short male bartender with glasses he was not friendly. Brittney was working so hard still so attentive. Ask 4 Britt! She's the savior of this bar we will be back! what a hidden gem! came on a thursday, so it wasn't too busy. the bartenders are quick and the drinks were good! i love the ambiance of the place! has a good amount of seating and the sofas are pretty comfy

I found this place on Instagram and have been absolutely dying to check it out. I finally got the girls together for a night out on a Thursday night and we came here. They have a vinyl DJ and the jams were absolutely amazing. Interior was beautiful, everything looked beautiful and clean. There was a male bartender who was pretty lukewarm and didn't seem too happy to be there, but I can understand. It was completely dead and there were maybe a handful of people there aside from myself and my friends. We had one drink and left , I might've stayed longer if the bartender was more welcoming and there were more people, I will give it another go soon.

Great experience at Kitsch! A huge part of that was thanks to Sofia, the bartender. She was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and went out of her way to make sure everyone was having a great time. Whether it was recommending the perfect cocktail or just making conversation, she made the whole experience feel personal and enjoyable. The drinks were expertly crafted, and the atmosphere was just right--cozy yet lively. If you're looking for a place with great drinks and even better service, I highly recommend stopping by and saying hi to Sofia! I'll definitely be back.

My friends and I came by several days ago after searching around for a bar to chill at late at night and we stumbled on Kitsch Bar and decided to check it out! Kitsch is located in a usually busy plaza next to great restaurants like Manpuku and Kitakata and is easily missed if you aren't looking for it! When you walk in, there is plenty of seating and tables surrounding the large bar table which is shaped in a U style. There are plenty of screens on the wall/bar showing sports and live tv. Local DJs will also play certain nights of the week/weekend to keep you entertained. The bartenders here are great and ours was super friendly as he made us his special cocktail which we all enjoyed and we had fun conversations with him throughout the night. This spot is a nice place to relax and chill and it wasn't too crowded when we showed up on a weekday but I'm sure it is popping on the weekends!

Relatively small & loud inside - not place for large groups or to have a conversation. Wasn't really my vibe, but that's ok! Pretty good drinks for a bar though! Overall experience was fine, but I wouldn't come out of my way to go here.

Nice bar, good drinks and wide menu options. Trivia night is super fun and the drink prizes are great. Bartenders are also great and helpful with trivia hints' Parking is a little rough at times.

Cute place with yummy drinks! We came here for a fun cocktail night for a new business. I love that they host events here! The staff were really nice and the drinks weren't too expensive at all! The vibe in there was fun and moody. I love this place! I've taken all my friends here and it's a great date spot!

Charged a $5 cover charge to enter. Not worth it. It's 2 by 2. Just blaring music. We didn't even stay after paying a cover it was that not worth it.

Very small but cozy atmosphere!!! You can tell that the bartenders have regulars and it was fairly easy to order. They don't go to you, so you would need to approach the bar in order for them to take your order. This is a great place for smaller groups- I would say this is for a more intimate one on one place. There are alot of booths as well as seats at the bar. They do not have any flavored margaritas but the regular marg was stronger in spirit. I liked how he gave two limes instead of one. Will come back again for a more one on one vibe or just catching up with a friend :)

Never been to this bar but my friends wanted to meet here. It's pretty small but it wasn't crowded Saturday night. There are tables and seatings. Music was hip hop. Really loud. Drinks were cheap!

Cute Bar. We came cause Inga was bartending the night and it was for a good cause. I got the Bee's knees, the Paloma, Coffee Espresso, and the Merry mojito. What a fun night. Parking was tough. Place was hopping!

Cute bar, not too busy. Dj playing on a Friday night and lord of the rings on the tv screen. Wasn't too crowded and the staff were nice. Parking can be pretty tough due to the location. Be mindful earlier in the night ~7pm but we came back later around 9pm and had better luck finding parking.

The bar may be running well, but is missing what it was named for. The Kitsch bar when it opened an early 2000s was a bar that had a charm like being in the back of a luxurious airbus. It was small quaint, and had showcases of things like GI Joe, strawberry shortcake, or even old Coleman appliances with pictures. Now, it is just a bar, no different than any other bar. Only two beers on tap and average drinks. Kitch bar should rename itself to average bar.

Came here last night after dinner and it was karaoke night! Apparently karaoke nights are only on Wednesday's but due to popular demand they had it on tuesday as well! Once me and my friends had enough liquid courage they couldnt kick us off! LOL THE HOST WAS AMAZING! He really kept the party going, everyone was having such a great time! Also the drinks are amazing!! I didn't know they had specialty drinks by mixologists! I should've known by my margarita it was crafted sooo well. Can't wait to come back another Wednesday! Also, the place is really nice, new red leather couches, with huge bar set up. Very cool atmosphere, I highly recommend!

Small and unassuming but awesome! We randomly showed up here on a Wednesday night after dinner and were pleasantly surprised. They had open mic karaoke and everyone who sang was amazing! They were also really welcoming and encouraging of new singers which made for a really fun atmosphere.

The bartenders here are super kind and quick to help. Seating is really comfy. Good drinks.

Came by for their happy hour on Friday early in the evening. We were served by a female bartender who was fun and nice. She made a couple thoughtful suggestions for the menu and suggested some alterations to the drinks based on our preference. As someone who doesn't love the taste of alcohol I enjoyed the mixed drinks! There's plenty of comfortable seating inside. This place is a bit small and intimate. The parking in the plaza is a headache though so it might be worthwhile to consider carpooling or taking a taxi.

Our group was looking for a bar to hang out at after the OC Fair, and found this place through Yelp. Kitsch is located in a small plaza next to the Residence Inn Marriott -- it's easy to miss because it has the smallest sign I've ever seen for a business! Once you walk inside, you'll see that there's a U-shaped bar with tables and lounge chairs lining the circumference of the room. Weirdly enough, they ran out of tequila and other liquors when we were there. Lots of people were dressed up - maybe they were coming from another event? All in all, it's a nice chill spot.

Not as expected. Hidden in a strip mall, had to ask someone if I was in right parking lot. The bouncer did not charge me and two of my friends a cover charge, but within 5 minutes, charged my other three friends cover. Place is very small with food tent outside.

Such a pleasant and enjoyable place. It is hard to find the place to have fun at on Sunday night - and it was amazing. Harissa made it feel exceptional - nice drinks and great music. And the drink is so pure - exactly what you need to distress. We will definitely be back!

When I was there, 90s hip hop, cool vibe, and GREAT DRINKS. Bartender was sweet too. No food, but it's actually better that way. Happened upon this spot will be coming back. Monte Carlo is delicious.
