Reach the shop around 7.30am , no queue, i like the intestines rice which is more flavorful and the taste is perfect match with soysauce. Add some chilli flakes to increase the taste. Very very good breakfast.

We got very lucky only waiting in line for 15 minutes. We ordered the beef bowl and the intestines mix bowl. We would highly recommend the beef bowl and the addition of an egg inside. The flavours were very well, balanced, not too sweet. We only wish that they gave more sauce to each bowl to help soak the rice in the delicious flavours with the juice.

I don't think I’d come back just for this. Honestly, it's not worth waiting in line for. I'm usually not picky with food, and my husband is quite particular—he had one bite and couldn’t eat more. I didn’t find it tasty either. Even the regular gyudon didn’t feel special or particularly good value for money.

Came here Monday Morning of June around 9ish, around 10 ppl in front of me, took less than 10 minutes before I got my order. I had the beef bowl and raw egg as well as the tofu. Consider it s only 800 yen I think it’s ok, but wouldn’t recommend if you have to wait long queue in line. They accept cash only. There’s only 4 seats and the around 10+ standing bar. The lady did forget my add-on tofu and I have to go remind her. The other staff near the cashier was very helpful.

Came here on a Saturday morning—there was a long queue, but it moved quickly so the wait wasn’t too bad. I ordered the gyudon (beef rice bowl) for ¥800 and added an onsen tamago (soft-boiled egg) for ¥100. It also came with a complimentary glass of hojicha. The beef was tender and flavourful, with the sauce nicely absorbed into the rice. The onsen tamago added a rich, creamy texture. Overall, a satisfying and enjoyable meal that’s worth a stop if you’re in the area.

The beef bowl with soft-boiled eggs was delicious and exceptional, priced at 900 yen per bowl. The flavour reminded me of the Taiwanese Lu Rou Fan. The queue was short during lunchtime, which made the experience even better. I will definitely try it again if I am at Tsukiji Market.

Located in the hustle and bustle of the iconic fish market, somehow this street level restaurant is able to accommodate tens of rabidly hungry customers in the middle of a chaotically busy sidewalk, with patrons having to navigate around oncoming two way pedestrian and a snaking line to get to a standing dining area. It’s quite the sight to behold and believe it or not they have eyes on dining patrons to ensure that there is a spot available before serving the next customer. As for the food, the horumon-don (cow intestines) rice bowl is the obvious must-have. Tender fattiness makes for a rich broth that apparently has been stewing for years if not decades or longer. Very palatable and delicious! Also was a very pleasant dining experience despite the chaos. Everyone was very accommodating (pedestrians and fellow patrons).

Say what you will about this place, the rice bowl is legit great. There are no doubt a ton of tourists, but not just foreigners, also many local Japanese tourists. And the beef is so good one is not enough. I ended up having 2x bowls in one sitting. It opens at 6am, but I think the best time to go would be about 7am because there are always people waiting for it to open, but then after the first wave, it quiets down a bit until the next wave. So 7am is perfect timing.

Been to Tsujiki market a couple of times. Most goes for the sushi, tamago or fresh strawberry. This is one of our favorite places to eat at the market. Japanese street food with few counter top seatings- most people are willing to share. The gyudon is delicious with the chocolaty sauce. Be brave enough and try the intestines. Really goes well with beer but they provide you tea with you meal. Cash only. The line is usually long but moves quickly.

Our first stop at Tsukiji before a single stall was open in the market. We arrived at 6:30am and the line was about 100 deep! This must be some beef bowl! A simple menu: there's really just two options to choose from with some a la carte add ons. We shared the beef and rice bowl with an egg and the fried tofu so we could save precious real estate. I'm sure this beef bowl is comforting on a cold day, as it's one of the handful of establishments that offers a hot food item that's more a meal than a snack. We found it just fine but I wouldn't get up and race to stand in line this early again. We saw many getting the intestines. Maybe that was better, but neither of us felt brave enough first thing in the morning for that. We also realized most were pairing their meal with a bottle of beer at 7am! Hey, I'm not judging... If you time it right, you might be able to snag one of the 4-5 stools in front. Otherwise, the makeshift standing tables made of crates off to the side is the only other option to eat.

One of the best deals for a beef rice bowl in the Tsukiji market. There are only 2 versions, one with beef and one for beef internal organs. I suggest adding the soft-boiled egg for extra richness. The beef is super tender and cooking in the same pot, it is super beefy in flavor. Definitely should do it. The line seems long, but it does move fast, so don't be discouraged.

You have to get to Tsukiji market before 9 to wait less than 2 hours for this delicious beef bowl and intestines bowl with an egg. I got there a bit before 9 and waited about 80 minutes. It's well worth the wait and so delicious. The egg is an add on and it's a must for the full flavor of this meal.

Kitsuneya is a popular rice bowl spot in the Tsukiji fish market. They don't have a corner location, so the line that forms gets awkward. If you come early, you might not have to wait long! The menu on display is in Japanese, and Google translate camera wasn't very helpful. We didn't see the English/photo menu until we were at the front of the line. I got the #1 beef bowl because it was recommended. It was def worth the wait! The beer was so refreshing in the July heat. A small bowl of innards was ¥700. I spent ¥2170 here. They have like 3-4 seats directly in their kitchen area. There are other tables on the sidewalk area. I recommend first to order your food, then take your food to the seating area.

The renowned Beef Bowl and Beef Stew spot in Tsukiji Market. Unsurprisingly, there was a line even early in the morning but it went by pretty quickly. Menu is small because they only specialize on their Beef. I went with the hearty beef stew bowl with internal organs and a soft boiled egg. Truly a filling and comfort meal. The flavors of the stew melded together well. I wouldn't say it's worth the wait but glad I got to try it.

While walking to the Tsujiki Fish Market, we struggled thru a gauntlet of people crowding by one specific outside vendor. Usually, I don't like massive lines, but approached the business to check it out. A very small venue, with a very large pot and the chef stirring the pot. It smelled so good, and seemed so authentic, so we got in line which was about 50 people. They only serve one item, their famous Horumon-don, which I thought was a sort of beef stew over rice. it was priced at 900 yen and the egg was an additional 100 yen. 1000 yen is about $7.50 as of this writing. When we got the order, there were a few small shared stand up tables to eat on. It was so tasty and filling. The meat was so flavorful and slightly chewy. After research, I found out that the meal was intestines and lungs. Good thing I coudn't read Japanese before I ordered it, or else i might not have done it, LOL. But so glad that I did, as it was one of my favorite experiences of the trip. They also served it with a small glass of hot tea which was a nice touch. Bus your own tables, and clean up the tables Japanese style and on to the next meal!

When its chilly outside, nothing really stands out at Tsukiji because most of the food stands serve cold seafood/sashimi. This teishoken spot serves hot meaty rice bowls at a very affordable price of $6 USD a bowl. The line is long but it does move fast. We waited in line about 15 minutes around 9 am. By 10:30 am, the line more than tripled in length. The beef gyudon bowl was very average in my opinion. It was missing that sweet and salty punch in the marination. The beef lacked depth in flavor and was quite bland. Honestly the frozen gyudon I usually buy from H Mart is better. The service was very sweet and friendly otherwise. $6 USD is a great deal but it wasn't worth the wait to me. If you're in the area already and you're looking for something warm and cheap, I would say come here. If you want to save your stomach real estate for a delicious meal, I would skip this.

For the first time in my life, I actually stayed in a hotel located in Tsukiji Market. In the past, I've stayed at hotels in Asakusa and Shinjuku. However, as I was staying in Tokyo for a prolonged period of time, I stayed in a hotel with a washing machine. There was one in Tsukiji Market, so I stayed at that hotel. As a bonus, I did not have to worry about waking up early to drive to Tsukiji Market, so I could get my pick of the best food Tsukiji had to offer. I had read that many places in Tsukiji were overpriced. However, I noticed that Kitsuneya, a small vendor that opens early, had long lines of local Japanese people. Granted, Kitsuneya specializes in beef bowls, in a market known for selling fish products. However, with how long the lines were at 6 AM, I had to stop by. I got the horumondon with a soft boiled egg. Horumon is basically beef innards (intestines). The sauce for the horumon was amazing. It was very savory and full of flavor. The beef intestines were super tender and juicy. I don't even like beef intestines and I loved this place. The runny soft boiled egg helped improve the flavor of everything. For 1000 yen, it was an absolutely amazing deal. It's out of the way to go to Tsukiji, but this is definitely one of the best hole in the wall Japanese places/beef bowls I've ever had.

Come early! We got here right before it opened and didn't have to wait. It is a street vendor so it's just a stall type of store front. There were very limited seats and you have to just eat your own meal fast (they don't rush you) and respectfully move on for the next person to enjoy theirs. I personally really love liver and intestines so this was SO good. It's a very "homemade style" warm breakfast stew, rich in flavor, over steaming rice. PS, There is no sharing, each person must get their own bowl.

Believe the hype! We initially saw the line and thought we would skip it to check out the market until we got hungry. When we came back around the line was double the size. There is no sit down eating area (you have to stand and eat on aluminum tables) but you bet we stayed and waited in this massive line, on the street since sidewalk was full of pedestrian traffic, with a tantrum throwing three year old in a stroller, to get three bowls (one with innards, two regular). It came with three cups of tea. Seasonings are on the table. We squeezed I. And started digging in. HOLY COW. I've only had second rate beef bowls before this heavenly version. The beef was cooked down so it was super tender and the rice was glistening with the sauce and fat from the beef. The onions were perfectly cooked down, almost caramelized without the char. My three year old ate half my bowl and I tried my friend's bowl with the innards and it was really good, a bit thicker and denser, and it came with konyaku so the texture was more gelatinous. Not gamey at all. If I went again, I would add the egg.

Unless you're playing it safe with the gyudon, you either need to be adventurous or already have the palate for this place's specialty - horumon stew. Offals galore stewed to succulent perfection! No videos allowed, but disrespectful people don't listen. There's always a line and well worth the wait. You order, wait only a few seconds, find a seat (very limited at the stall) or stand, and eat the deliciousness provided to you. By far one of the best dishes that I had in Japan! From what I know, this place didn't move after the inner market moved. But it's been over a month now and have no clue as to the status. But definitely would recommend to anyone visiting the market. I know it's not fish, but it's so good that it draws many tourists' attention! I don't think any other non-fish stall would be able to do the same.

The one and only non sushi and non sashimi joint at Taukiji Market. I've been meaning to try this as there's always a crowd but only tried it when I arrived early and came for breakfast before heading to the office. Cash only and no photos! So I had to sneak to take one of my beef bowl.

SO good. What a way to start your morning in Tsukiji. I had the Horumon. Beef innards cooked in a delicious stew, served in a bowl over rice. YUMMY! What ever sauce they cook it in, it tastes like heaven. Does not taste gamey at all. Very tender, yet chewy. I don't know how they do it, but it was amazing. The lines are long, but it moves very fast. And they include a glass go delicious barley tea. Really hits the spot. You must start you Tsukiji Adventures with this place. And come early. This place can close as early as 12noon.

This place is unreal and definitely worthy of the hype and line. The lines moves very fast anyways so that is okay! We got the #2, which is the intestines and it was from the pot that was cooking in the front of the restaurant. It cost 850¥ and was flavorful and delicious. And I like the chewy texture of it all. I would highly recommend this place if you come to Tsukiji Fish Market and mix it up with your sushi meals!!

The last time I was in Tokyo I attempted to come here to try their motsu-don only to find out they were closed for the day. Determined to try this legendary bowl of yumminess, I made sure to come for bfast during my last trip. They don't have an English menu so if you don't speak Japanese, come prepared and bring a picture of what you want. I waited no more than 5 minutes for a seat at the counter but ended up getting up to eat at a standing table behind to give a family a chance to sit and eat. Words cannot describe how tasty that bowl of motsu was. Add a half boiled egg and I was in heaven. Will have to try their gyu don next time as I saw other patrons ordering that as well. If you don't want to wait in a 2+ hour line for Sushi Dai and want something non sushi related .. hit up Kitsuneya for a bowl of motsu w/ a half boiled egg!!!

This is one of the 1st food stands we saw at Tsukiji and the smell attracted us. They have a huge pot of meat braising in its juices and they serve that over rice. The taste is way better than the smell so you know its really good! They have signs to not share the food... but when they get busy you can do it sneakily ;).

We had no idea we were going to eat offal. This shop has a long line of people wanting to try the delicious smell of the Horumon Don aka Beef Guts bowl. If I had known it was offal,i never would have lined up. but im glad i did, you only live once fits here perfectly.I also didn't know they were serving Beef bowl too which is Gyudon in Japanese. I am filipino and I think if i were too compare this dish, it is quite similar to the taste of our very own Bopis. Bopis is mostly composed of pork liver and pork lung. So that's probably it has similar texture and taste to horumon don. The lady was very nice to us and made us seat right in front of her cooking pot! I was lucky enough to take photos as well. We were quite full already when we got out of the sushi restaurant so we weren't expecting to be eating again but the smell was so good and the line was even more enticing! Would i eat this again? I probably would and would even like to try their other bowls.

Not sure how we ended up skipping the long lines and grabbing two seats by the small stall, but we did! The gyudon (750 yen) is #1 on the menu and horumon don (850 yen) is #2. If you are eyeing on the massive pot of goodness bubbling away, that's #2 horumon - innards. I tried both bowls and can't pick a favorite. They were both so good! The beef and innards were tender and flavorful. And the rice.. the rice was so fluffy and soaked up the sauce really well. These bowls were pretty filling, so plan your Tsukiji Market eats accordingly. And I'd say it's not the best environment to enjoy a beef bowl standing up and with tons of people buzzing by, but it's all part of the experience. I would recommend to give it a try if the line is not too long.

If you're thinking of skipping this place due to the line as other reviews have mentioned, don't. One, there's a line for a reason. Two, it took me all of sixty seconds to order, pay, and receive my food so the line goes quite quickly. I was maybe 8th or 9th in line and waited maybe 10 minutes tops. Food comes out quick and is frigging amazing. Best gyudon I've had since I got to Tokyo two weeks ago. The broth it comes in is so delicious and although I usually leave some rice (gotta watch those carbs!), I felt it would be a crime to leave anything left of this amazing meal. You can get toppings on it like onions and egg, which I neglected to do and only realized after I saw others with these toppings. Big mistake on my part but it just gives me another excuse (as if I needed any) to return here. There is a line that starts several feet back from the counter which might be easy to miss initially. Standing room only but honestly you won't even be thinking about that after the first bite.

I was hoping a could get the half beef and half intestine bowl but wasn't able to. :( So I opted for the intestine bowl since everyone said it was so good. For the amount of money you pay the portion wasn't as worth it as you think it would, but it was really good. They only open for 6 hours! So get there early! I was able to get some after waiting in line at sushi dai for 6 hours!

As others stated, you have to try the gyudon and horumon. Amazing! Its pretty easy to find since its the only place that has a giant pot of stuff cooking. There always seems to be a line here and it's mainly because it moves VERY slow. Considering how efficient and fast most places to eat in Tokyo are, this place is the total opposite. And it shouldn't be since all the food is already cooked. But like most places at Tsukiji Market, there's only like 2 people working there. There's only 1 guy that takes your order, tries to figure out what you're trying to order if you don't already know, tries to explain the menu to you, rings you up, takes your money, gets your order ready and puts everything on a tray including water.....and does all this before moving on to the next person in line!! I waited about 30 min. in line and there were only 10 people in front of me!

I finally had chance to have their Gyu-don. It was delicious but I thought 850 yen is a little too much for the small sized bowl. But I probably will come back and try the famous Hormone-don. There is a sign says "No Sharing". I wish two people are able to share a Donburi so that we can try other stand-up meal as well at Tsukiji.
