"The young chef at this long-established restaurant popular with locals and tourists alike has been at the helm since 2019. Here, guests can choose to eat in a winter garden or in the dining room, where there’s often live music during the colder months. The menu features classic favourites, such as the Krempita dessert which has been served here since the restaurant opened in 1946, and traditional Serbian specialties (there’s a 25-minute wait for the savoury Gibanica dish), with the occasional interesting, personalised touch and a focus on careful presentation.Since its opening at the end of the Second World War, the restaurant has served as a gathering spot for writers, journalists, and politicians. It continues to host cultural events, including exhibitions and concerts.Careful attention is also paid to sustainable practices such as reducing food waste." - Michelin Inspector

"Klub Književnika, more than 70 years of history for this emblematic Serbian eatery; one of the most popular cultural cafés to emerge after World War II. The atmosphere is traditional with a cozy decor. A must-eat here is the Gibanica, with cheese and aromatic herbs – 25 minutes waiting time but all worthwhile!" - La Guida Michelin

We stumbled on this lovely restaurant which we visited for my birthday. From the beginning the service was outstanding and they were extremely accommodating.
The food and drinks were exceptional, from the little light appetisers they bring out to the main courses. I must stress that this is a restaurant everyone should visit when in Belgrade.
The atmosphere was beautiful but there is smoking allowed inside which did disrupt eating there, but hopefully they can create a separate area for this.
Nonetheless, an amazing group of people working there!

One of our favourite places in Belgrade. We had a lovely lunch last year but this year we decided to go for a seven course menu and we weren’t disappointed. Everything was delicious and food was amazingly balanced. Servers give you enough time between courses so you can enjoy every dish and have a little break between.
The only dish which I expected more from was the dessert - it was a crep with some condensed milk which was not impressive.
Otherwise everything else was delicious! Definitely visit this restaurant if in Belgrade!

We had a nice dinner. A pitty that the wines are relatively expensive. Also the food was nice. Unfortunately the main dish was a bit cold. We mentioned this to the waiter. He asked if the taste was ok. And no action was taken.

The food was absolutely amazing and delicious! The chef was really friendly. I was there with my family and we were amazed. The service was perfect in every way. If you are visiting Serbia you have to go to this restaurant.
Thank you “Klub Knjizevnika” for the beautiful experience!

This is easily the best restaurant we have been to in Belgeade. And of the best ever, actually. The food was delicious, big portions, creative but traditional at the same time. The onion soup, lamb main dish, and the chocolate mousse were to die for. 🫠
