DiGiorno-Little Caesars Mystery Left Twitter Angry and Confused | Eater

"The store received customer complaints about having sold expired DiGiorno pizzas, and because it was near closing time the manager instructed an employee to temporarily store the affected boxes in a cooler next to the adjoining restaurant for disposal the following morning, which explains why a cart of DiGiorno boxes appeared at the site." - Brenna Houck

I really wanted to visit Kmart again as it was my go-to store before my local one closed in 2016. We were immediately greeted by a mannequin outside and then by a recorded voice and a human upon entering. Unfortunately, the store was very small and had a very sad inventory. I really wanted to buy something at the last Kmart but was unable to find anything. The employees were nice but I really don't know why this store is still open. Ourselves and one other customer were in the store the whole time we were there. Sad what Eddie Lampert has done to two once great stores, Kmart and Sears.

Google
Visiting Kmart was a mix of nostalgia and surprise. It’s not like the original store I remember—now it feels more like a dollar store with a smaller selection of items. That said, it was still fun to browse and find some good deals. While it’s a far cry from the classic Kmart experience, it’s worth a visit if you’re nearby and want a quick shopping trip.

Google
One of only three, but soon to be two, Kmarts left in the continental United States. This store has recently moved into the former Garden Shop and At Home will be occupying the main portion of the building. This Kmart was somewhat empty although I assume they were preparing for their move into the smaller section of the store. They still had some great merchandise with pretty good sales as well! There’s still toys, clothes, shoes, homewares, electronics, automotive, food, beverages, beach items and other services available at customer service among others. Store was clean and the employees were happy, friendly and helpful! I hope this store stays open for a while now that they have a smaller footprint. They still have good quality merchandise and some of the best staff in retail! If you are around the Kendall/ Miami area stop in and see what you can find and how much you can save! I really recommend shopping here!

Google
Last k Mart in north America! Had to stop by. Not a pile of stock left, probably not many days left in its life. Will miss k mart

Google
(8/7/21) Came in there 2 weeks ago during my visit in Miami, definitely clean and definitely stocked. Hope this location stays for many days to come despite the company falling apart over the years. Great store 🏬 Update: As of the year 2024 this is now the final Kmart left in the contingent U.S. and it has been downsized since my last visit here

Google
Growing up with Kmart felt good to be back but this experience will never be the same as the original Kmarts but it was a blast from the past and great experience for me. But the one lady in here was complaining about me taking pictures and videos of some thing from the past that no longer exists which is Kmart and she threw a fit over me and I’m 15 years old lol well there no sign saying no recording but the older lady here god bless her she did not care that I was videoing she was so nice gave 10 Kmart bag to keep as memories. Kmart for life 😊

Google
My dear Kmart, You never showed up. I remember walking those faded aisles, the smell of cheap plastic and popcorn lingering in the air, blue light specials flickering like little beacons of forgotten hope. You were always there in the background quiet, humble, comforting. Not flashy like Target, not chaotic like Walmart… just you. I waited for you to make a comeback. I hoped, really hoped, you’d fight your way back into our lives. But the shelves went bare, the lights dimmed, and your doors closed quietly, like you didn’t want to make a fuss. I still drive by your old building sometimes. It’s something else now—cold, unfamiliar. But I still see the red K clinging to the ghost of the past. I still remember what we had. You never showed up. And now… it’s too late.

A Muncie Experience

Google
Fairly well stocked for one of only two Kmarts left in Florida. The other being in Key West, FL. Pretty clean store, we’ll managed and some of the best employees you’ll ever meet! Helpful, knowledgeable and friendly staff! Highly recommend a stop at this Kmart if you’re in the greater Miami Dade area!

Yelp
Ordered online and delivery was fast! Product was great too. Some items are high priced but I think it will get better!

Yelp
This is the saddest review I've written. K-Mart was the place to shop growing up, but they didn't update to the times, and now they're almost gone. I had to stop by this one before I flew back home to N.C. So long old friend. I've got some great memories.

Yelp
The only Kmart left in Florida! This store has already made history. It is near Miami and I was very lucky that there was one an hour away south of my paternal grandmother's house. I was so glad that there was one so near by that I paid a visit to this rare Kmart that is still open today (actually, I visited on Tuesday August 22 while vacationing). While they did downsize recently, it is well stocked and very neat + clean though there weren't a lot of customers in that store. The so-called garden center (that surely used to have plants, gardening supplies and more) is the section where clothes, back to school supplies and summer merchandise are sold now. The store registers are now relocated in the garden center as well. I couldn't resist making it here just because I loved Kmart and that there used to be one in my hometown all the way up in Vernon, Connecticut before shutting it down for good back in 2019. The last time I was in a Kmart before that Miami visit was the Holyoke, MA store in early 2020 shortly before it closed once COVID pandemic started. This shall be, as considered the last time I'm ever stepping foot in a Kmart. Thank You for letting shoppers make memories at America's Favorite Store of the 1970's and 80's when KCafes used to exist in those stores. Blame Fast Eddie (a corrupt CEO for Sears Holdings / Transformco), Walmart and Amazon for the collapse of K-Mart in the US. Long live with all of the memories treasured!

Yelp
One of the last K-marts in the US. I think there is one more in NY still open. This one in Miami (Kendall) moved all the merchandise into the garden section and leased out the main building. I got to see the main building while it was empty before they moved an At Home store into it but i did not take pics of the inside. It was very backrooms. I have very fond memories of Kmart. It was my grandmothers favorite store and we could never get her out of there The food court was awesome too.

Yelp
Went on Black Friday 2024 and a few people were shopping in the store. It was clean and organized picked up a few things. The bathroom was beyond clean. I hope to visit again soon and regularly in 2025. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Last one standing....between this and the last Blockbuster in Oregon, once they leave so does much of our childhood memories.

Yelp
Love shopping at kmart better quality items and jewelry I miss having kmart in California wish the company could make a comeback the nostalgia is priceless

Yelp
People keep saying that this Kmart is dirty and customer service is terrible which I understand is true. But really you have to understand that Kmart is going through chapter 11 bankruptcy. I find it cool though that, that pacific location is still running, showing that the company is still trying to stay up. Normally I would expect is to close fully but no they lead the main building to AtHome and Kmart moved to its former garden shop, guess it really puts the "mart" in Kmart , get it? bc mart stands for small little stores. Today there are only two remaining Kmarts today, counting Kendall, and you can't expect it to be clean, that store opened 1992 and since they have be try less money they can't renovate or update the stores. I'm writing to much, I like exploring abandoned places such has closed Kmarts, and yea.

Yelp
This Kmart is a piece of Americana, it is really Kmart last stand. In some ways like Blockbuster in Bend, Oregon being the last one, we have this Kmart. There is just one other Kmart in New York but I don't know for how long. Kmart signed a new lease on this downsized 9,883 square feet location giving up the larger portion to At Home Store. There were many Kmart locations that became At Home Store maybe more Kmart should have downsized and possibility survived. None the less this is really the last stand for Kmart. The selection and value is great most everything was 20-40% off in the entire store. I flew to Florida just to visit this Kmart. I visited it once a day for the three days I was in Florida spending $100 each day. I then randomly gave those items away to people I walked by in the area and asked them to support their local Kmart.

Yelp
Ya no es el mismo kmart grande que había. Ahora es uno pequeño , que no hay casi nada. No vale la pena ir . Fuimos creyendo que era uno grande.

Paul T.

Yelp
Yes, I miss K Mart. Many of my clothes and small home furnishings (especially when KM carried the Martha Stweart line) came from here. All those have hekld up exceedingly well. I have a blazer and two long-sleeve shirts with classic styling that I bought in the mid 1970s.

Jonathan L.

Yelp
this is the best Kmart ever they really need to add more locations and I do think Kmart should reopen I will shop there a lot and I will even donate to Kmart some how if I could just to help it the value is great the selection and all of that with deals like normal so nice.
google avatar

Gage N.

Yelp
This store should be registered with the National Registry of Historic Places. I hope Kmart comes back one day.

Chris F.

Yelp
Really nice people, but the store has undergone a massive change. It's now only the size of the garden section, and it reminds me more of a Walgreens/ Goodwill / NYC Bodega than a Kmart. It's a shame. I enjoyed coming here and grabbing things over the years, and was my go to shop for hoodies. Hopefully it stays open in its current form, but from what I hear Marshall's or Homegoods is taking over the main store. A lot of memories gone now

Braden A.

Yelp
This place is dirty and the staff are very rude and unprofessional. I have no idea how they're still standing.
google avatar

Amparo M.

Yelp
A bit disorganized and staff isn't the friendliest but they always have good promotions and one of the last kmarts in the area as they are going bankrupt
google avatar

Monica G.

Yelp
This Kmart is the absolute WORST Kmart I've ever been too. For years this place has been on 88th street and no matter how many times they "update" it it'll never change. The employees are awful and it's so dark you'd think you're entering a cave. I put in an in-store pick up because they advertise "order now and pick up in-store today!" Well I'm STILL waiting to pick up my vacuum... 3 days later! I ended up just going and grabbing the vacuum off the shelf myself. The place is empty, what the heck are the employees doing? Standing around in the back talking amongst themselves. Get your stuff together Kmart!

Yelp
I wish this Kmart would just close already so a Sam's Club could open in it's place. In Kendall we have Costco, BJs and Walmart but we don't have a Sam's yet and this spot is being wasted on this awful Kmart. Better yet, a Whole Foods, Fresh Market or Trader Joe's in its place would be awesome as we do not have any other those either. I've been here many a late night in search of small necessities many of which they keep in stock. Ie water, bath soap, tweezers, and snacks. Whenever I've come by looking for anything more specific I've found that they do not have it or it is priced above Walmart, Target or Amazons prices. I recently placed an order online to be picked up in the store. I was supposed to be notifed via email as soon as it was available to be picked up. Two days after expected arrival date, I finally got the email. The email said to show the barcode at any register and an associate would retrieve the item. Wrong and wrong. You can only pick up online items at the Customer Sevice desk and they don't need the email, the barcode or Order #. They want your ID instead. Regardless, they couldn't locate my item in the store. In and out it took more close to 40 minutes for something that should've been 5 minutes since the store was pretty much empty. The novel...er....receipt that prints for just one item purchased is ridiculous. No exaggeration, 4 feet long. This place is outdated, insufficiently stocked and just sad. I saw some tacky lawn decor (I'm talking 1980's style) for around $90! Mind-boggling.

Yelp
I was in Miami a few months ago during Superbowl weekend. I was actually stopping to pick up lunch at a local restaurant chain and looked across the parking lot and saw a Kmart that appeared to still be open. I decided to drop in since all of the Kmarts in my area went out of business over 5 years ago. When I stepped in to this store, it was so dark, dingy, and dirty that I thought I was in a Thrift Store. The only thing that stopped me from immediately turning around and walking back out was that the racks were full and many items were 50%-70% off. I walked around for quiet a while noticing how "dead" the store was. I honestly felt like I was the only customer in the store, but I continued on since it allowed me to reminisce about my childhood trips with my mom to Kmart, which was my favorite store growing up. I remembered how nothing could beat the icee frozen slushes and freshly popped bags of popcorn, along with the constant announcements ATTENTION KMART SHOPPERS and the BLUE LIGHT SPECIALS. Unfortunately, this KMART was not like I remembered at all. It was so eerily quiet and dead ( a good thing for social distancing though) in the store that it just felt weird. When I went down the cleaning products aisle , I finally saw another woman who was a customer and pushing a shopping cart like me. She actually stopped me in the middle of the aisle as we passed each other and said "I FEEL LIKE AN AXE MURDERER or OTHER HORROR MOVIE KILLER IS HIDING OUT AT THE END OF ONE OF THESE AISLES, AND IS GOING TO JUMP OUT AND GET ME. I just looked at her and laughed and said. I DON'T FEEL LIKE IT'S THAT BAD, BUT I DO FEEL LIKE I'M IN A CRAZY DREAM. I did find quite a few nice clothing pieces and hard to find beauty products at great prices and actually ended up spending around $200. I don't think I'd ever go back to this store, but the two cashier's (one Cuban and one Black American) who were working that day were extremely nice and pleasant.

Yelp
This store always has some kind of discount that I like. Most of the people working here speak Spanish, which makes it easier for the people that only speak Spanish around this neighborhood. They have a little caesar pizza station here too, where they sell the famous $5.00 cheese pizzas. They have a good amount the cash registrars and they all tell you about the reward program Kmart has. The restrooms in here were dirty and they looked bad.
google avatar

Supawat J.

Yelp
Typical Kmart store..clean and organized. .however some electronic tuff can't be found here. Toys and beauty products are on sale sometime.

Elsa C.

Yelp
The store is pitiful, not only is empty of items, there is no customer service,or employees to help you out, look like the place is closing, They have an 80 year old woman in one of the registers, that she should retire already, the garden shop is closed, the Pizza is closed, the store is dreary obsolete, dark. The prices are too high for the merchandise you carry. Please either close or remodel the store.

Liliana M.

Yelp
HIGHEST QUALITY BEST PRICED HOME GOODS!, most organized, CUSTOMER-FRIENDLY and helpful department store in Kendall. There is a reason this is the only remaining K-Mart in South Florida! I love shopping here and during COVID they keep having such great deals you can't find ANYwhere else. Has saved me a bunch during this hard time. Give this K-Mart a visit on your next dept store trip, you will be absolutely delighted. Thank you K-Mart KENDALL!!
google avatar

Anthony C.

Yelp
Still as the great store as I remember it, Little Caesar's is still here, I'm shocked of the menu items they have now and I cannot leave without ordering one of there hot n ready items.
google avatar

Carlin I.

Yelp
Went to this kmart today, bought a couple things got home to find five pieces missing. I checked the entire car. Took the receipt and customer service tells me that they see they have us everything. Uhm No you didn't and their answer well there's nothing we can do. HORRIBLE, I wouldn't take my time to drive back all this way if it wasn't things I had bought for my girls. I leave in the brickell area. Absolutely upset and disappointed at the fact that I not only lost money but the fact that the things my girls had picked is now with someone else probably. I'm never returning. The store can disappear if it was up to me ... Status: Pissed offffff!

Yelp
Just a heads up: this K-Mart gets one extra star for making great pizzas most of the time. If there's a main reason that I keep coming back here (Beside the nostalgia factor), it is their pizzas and crazy bread. They tend to make them better than at regular Little Caesar's locations. Plus, there's a soda and icee machine as well - but I'll get to the cons of that later. As most everyone agrees, Target (And some would argue Wal-Mart), is superior in their customer service and quality. There is a real lack of cashiers, so there may be times where you have to wait in the check out line awhile. The place is not very well organized (Merchandise is all over the place) and some of the employees are not the nicest or most helpful. In their Little Caesar's, while they are in need of new tables and chairs, their pizza is great (Much cheaper than Pizza Hut at Target), so you might not really mind that at the end. However, not everybody who attends you there is friendly, so you have to come on a good day for you get decent service. The soda and icee machines break down all the time, but if you take your pizza to go, that's not really an issue. I also think they need someone at the fitting rooms (Like Target). The place is a mess and they just leave clothes thrown everywhere. Returning something is also a mixed bag - sometimes you have no problem, sometimes you do and you have to wait a while - sometimes it takes even three people to exchange or return an item (!), Like i said, another reason to keep coming back is the nostalgia factor. Everything kind of looks as it did when it first opened, and that might put off some customers. If they could only improve customer service and store maintenance - make it look better, some people might actually start to come back. Some things they sell are sometimes cheaper here then in Target or Wal-Mart, so it's best to look at their Weekly Ads. It's extremely sad to see K-Mart letting their superior competition get the upper hand. It truly used to be a good place, and it can be a good place to have a good pizza, it just needs to improve their maintenance and customer service, perhaps remodel the store if they could. Even a little improvement might go a long way.

Karen K.

Yelp
This store is poorly organized, the shelves are not stocked and the selection is slim. My biggest complaint though, that seems to be a theme for Miami, is that the customer service is atrocious! I asked a simple question of two different employees and neither one could help because either they didn't understand enough English to figure out "where is the tape" or just didn't care enough to even try and help. I spoke to the manager and showed her a cartful of items was about to purchase, but decided to leave because I was so frustrated. She apologized, but I am doubtful anything will be done. I am not going back to that location.
google avatar

Moe P.

Yelp
Open late & for a wednesday no line waiting. Lots of selections at cheap price.. its isles are full of great items & clean.
google avatar

Nikky M.

Yelp
i am really annoyed with them i had an interview and they are so unprofessional a whole bunch of people who do not speak english cant even tell me where the interview is going to be and also i am walking around the store looking for the dam manager when you call someone for an interview and you tell them to come at a specific time be at your office its so unprofessional and the other employees are rude like they dont want you to get a job there no wonder some k mart have closed down they hire a bunch of rude people
google avatar

Mercy A.

Yelp
Great place for those of us who still respect Americana institutions like Sears & Roebuck who took a leap of faith to buy Kmart instead of buying from the Monsanto thieves of WalMart. Thanks Moe P! Marilyn A move elsewhere down the road trashy Wal Mart and high priced Target. You are the types that complain about American companies with American products closing. Support Kmart! It's legacy is over one hundred years old. (And there is no Samsung, lg, thy can beat Kenmore products)

Móvil Am M.

Yelp
This is the WORST Kmart in which I have been, the employees have no idea what they do, one day I went to buy a ring and the lady did not even know how to find the size, the worst thing is that it did not work for me and I had to go to return it and you know what, supposedly because of an illogical jewelry policy I could not return it, honestly if you want to buy something go to Walmart
google avatar

Luly R.

Yelp
I seldom come here just not to deal with the checkout lane. It is so slow! It a pity because sometimes there good deals going on. I would highly encourage staff to open new register lanes when the are busy
google avatar

Pete O.

Yelp
There's a reason i prefer Walmart to this place. Try to avoid not bad for a last resort though. Nice sales but may not be worth the terrible customer service.
google avatar

Charo E.

Yelp
Bad customer service, many items are not labeled.... Rude cashiers. The item I wanted was not labeled so they just look for another one (more expensive) and they wanted me to pay for that even when I showed them the price difference online! Even the manager had bad attitude

Brian B.

Yelp
This is the worst Kmart in the United States without question. We waited 25 minutes in the customer service line - a line of three people - while the one customer service person continually messed up every return while muttering "oh, I need a break. I'm so tired" while the assistant manager stood by reading a magazine. No attempts were made to help out or relieve the complaining worker and when the assistant manager was asked to help said the other register was broken and went back to her reading. When I complained louder I was met with retorts in spanish. When finally our turn we were told to fetch a similar item from across the store so a bar code could be scanned (rather than just scanning the receipt). Another altercation resulted in the manager denying any knowledge of the insibordinace displayed by her and the rep. The store is filthy, poorly managed and a prime example of why Kmarts demise is looming. Fire the assistant manager? Don't bother, close the store.
google avatar

Ellie H.

Yelp
Stop by to pick up a soda stream since they were offering the best price. The lines were long, the cashiers looked tired and ready to call it quits. All except Jammie. She was wonderful. The best part of being in this store was going to her lane. We left happy and grateful to know there are still people who provide excellent customer service. Hope her boss is aware of what a great and valuable employee they have. Hopefully others will put the same effort and learn from her. Dedicating the 5 stars to Jammie.
google avatar

Ivette R.

Yelp
This is the best Kmart I've been to it's really clean and the staff is friendly and this Kendall Kmart is way better than the one SW 8th St.

Eileen P.

Yelp
Cute clothes for girls prices are descent employees could be friendlier but they are not rude

Jose M.

Yelp
Worst customer service ever. I got to this store to buy a Gas grill they did have the best price. I select the grill I wanted. There were 4 of these same model assembled on the floor. Clearly all are for sale it not new that you buy a gas grill assembled I mean home depot walmart and lowes all sell assembled grill. When i'm at the register some girl who works there but didnt seem to be doing anything other then standing around yells at me from about 20 feet away hey you can buy that cause its a floor model. I tell her that she is in correct that there are 4 of the same grill on the floor all for sale and the this even has a tag that says this UPC is for Assembled grill. She dosen't bother reading the tag that clearly said it was for sale. insteadt tell the cashier not to ring me up and to call a manager. the cashier dose what she says mean time an other worker names joseph looks at grill and gose to the back then come back and puts a stick on the grill that says not for sale. I tell him what are you doing there are 3 grills left on the floor that you can put the sticker on that says not for sale floor model. Then he leaves then a lady named roth comes by her tag says supervisor she tells me we dont sell assembled grills. I tell her please use common sense the tag on this grill says this upc is for assembled grill. I tell he if you didn;t sell aseembled grills why would you have about 4-5 assembeled grils for each model.? She dosen't use common sense and just leave and says you have to talk to the manager. So by this point I had been standing there waiting for a manager about 20 minutes. the whole time I was at the register they kept ringing people up since I was waiting for a manager. I got tiered of waiting and told the cashier to either ring me up or call the manager again but I was not going to step out ofline and wllow more customers to be ringed up in front of my since I had been waiting so long. he calls the manager tracy and she comes. after I had been waiting 30 minutes. I tell he the issue I was having I tell her how clear it was that this grill is infact for sale since it had a tag that said this UPC if for assembled grill She says of fine just sell it to him. I tell her you know I have talked to 4 of your employees two of who were very rude to me been made to wait for 30 minutes for you to show up and all I get is yea sell it to him. I tell him I am a customer and truly no customer wants to have to get angry to buy something thats for sale. the whole time talking to her she has a smerk on her face and just shrugs her shoulder. I looked at her and tell her you dont really care do you. she resonce what do you want me to do I'm selling you the grill. How about I am so sorry you had to wait. I am sorry we have not trained our employees better. I am sorry our employees are not aware we a re a retail store and everything is for sale here. I walked out of the store I didn't buy the grill that was a good grill and was at a great price. because I vote with my money and I will not spend money in a place that treats me thi way.
