"Fried dough is at its finest at Knead Doughnuts, where bakers transform butter, sugar, and flour into glorious old-fashioned, brioche-style, and cake doughnuts. Since opening in 2016, the business has been steadily growing by delivering its artisan sweets to many coffee shops around the state. Pair an airy vanilla-glazed brioche or a dense chocolate chip old-fashioned with a Bolt Coffee nitro cold brew (Bolt co-owners Todd Mackey and Brian Gibb are part-owners of Knead). While the Elmgrove Avenue outpost has a neighborhood coffee shop feel, stop by the West End’s Cromwell Street location on the weekend to get a peek at the production space." - Jenna Pelletier

Google
Tried the Knead mill location for the first time. Pretty interesting place. Went with a glazed donut and a bacon jalapeño scone. Thought they were okay. Good, quick service. Street parking was okay.

Google
Looked up and visited the top rated donut spots in Providence while on a trip this morning. The place itself was cool and the guy at the counter was friendly, I just wished the donuts i got tasted better. The cranberry corn crumble was very sour tasting and the Oreo old fashioned seemed like it was a few days old. I wanted to like them. Might have just been a bad day for that spot.

Google
OMG this place is eclectic, fantastic...I can't rant enough not only the open, airy atmosphere, but the delicious, fresh and tasty both Vegan and Traditional donuts and pastries. This location on the West End is an incredible paradise that is a must see to experience and feel the vibe alone!

Google
I'm from out of state and was told to come here for the best breakfast pastries, savory & sweet! I cycle a lot and knew I should make the trip. They just came out with some seasonal flavors like their Tropical Frosted doughnut pictured. I also see they craft their laminated croissant dough by hand from the windows and needed to try a Chocolate Croissant pictured as well! Careful of the open schedules and get there early for the cream of the crop. Twinkie my Doxie was so excited with all the smells. Will go back!

Google
Great place for doughnuts. Please try the Brown Butter Pecan….. also have great coffee and vegan options. Very friendly service. Would give it 6 stars if I could. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Google
It takes a lot to get me to write a review... good OR bad. What a thorough and expensive disappointment this place was. The cinammon roll was okay, despite being a bit dry - like 4 pm dry, instead of 11 am moist. The cherry fritter was more like day-old dry. But the real losers were the apple cider donuts which were just rubbery and terrible. I've honestly had better donuts from Hostess at a fraction of the price. The barista was nice, though. The gold star is for him.

Google
Yum! Hand made right in their kitchen. Everything is freaking delicious. The cinnamon bun will blow your mind, the best there ever was. All fresh and creative scrumptious treats. Vegan options too.

Google
Pretty good vegan donuts, not quite as plump or soft as a regular donut would be and maybe a little too sweet but overall tasty.

Yelp
Knead Doughnuts is a must try for donuts in Providence. This brick building houses wonderful donuts. There are also vegan and flourless options. The staff were very friendly and were patient with us as we discussed what flavors we wanted to get. I first came here in January 2022 and ordered half a dozen treats. We had the gingerbread, chocolate chip old fashioned, vanilla, jelly, butter croissant, and cranberry corn crumble. Each of these ranged from $3.50 to $4.00. They threw in an extra gingerbread one which was really nice of them. The chocolate chip old fashioned is vanilla based, made with mini chocolate chips and finished with white chocolate. The jelly brioche is filled with seasonal jam, rolled hot in granulated sugar. The croissant was also very flakey and buttery. My favorites were the chocolate chip old fashioned and jelly, but all were good. I like how these donuts are not too sweet. Can't wait to go back and try their other flavors!

Yelp
First off--I have heard of these "upper end" donuts for years--today was my shot. Smith Street--perfect coffee shop ambiance--even had real mugs!!! I got a Maple donut with a SMALL coffee. The donut was delicious and the maple frosting delectable. The coffee was excellent. Price point? Are you serious. Over $8 for one donut and a small coffee. Is it me?? LOL

Yelp
I have been to a different location before in the past while visiting providence, and those donuts changed my life. I visited this different location recently and I was not as impressed, Donuts were average to good but not what I remember, maybe they were not freshed, I don't know, but I need to go again to confirm, I'm not giving up. The place by the way was super nice and modern so worth stopping by.

Yelp
Not only the best vegan donut i have ever had, but the best donut i have ever had. And i don't play around with my donuts. I would rate 100 stars if i could. I can't wait to try the rest of the flavors! Staff was also incredibly friendly beyond expectations, friendly and made you feel like family. Will be returning every chance possible. Building was super cute, and the cafe inside was clean, sleek and modern with lots of natural wood charm.

Yelp
Visited the Providence area and my husband and I always look for local donuts. Based off the reviews we tried KNEAD- and we are so glad we did. The donuts were some of the best we've had- if you like thicker donuts with more dense-ness to them these are the donuts for you. We tried 8 different donuts ranging from carrot cake old fashioned, chocolate Oreo peanut butter, funfetti, butter pecan and all were delicious with a great amount of glaze or toppings depending on the donuts. Loved that the dough didn't seem to be exactly the same for all donuts. They're not cheap, but they are worth it. 10/10 recommend!

Yelp
I love the donuts here omgosh. I do this know what else to say. I think i already wrote a review about here too lol. But yeah their donuts are very fresh & delicious. Full of sugar, just how i like it. The environment is soothing & the workers are friendly. They also sell these donuts at coffee connections locations certain days of the week, just a fun fact!

Chu H.

Yelp
I ordered the iced coffee, chai latte, vegan peach and jalapeños bacon scone. Everything was on point. I thought the scone would be dry and hard but it was not at all. The scone and donut paired well with the drinks! I thought the doughnut would be on the firmer side, but it's actually soft which is what I prefer more! I also liked the local artist artwork that's displayed around the cafe. There's a cute little children play area, too!

Stephanie R.

Yelp
The donuts are delicious and it was very covid-safe inside. Masks are required and the number of people allowed inside is limited. There are so many flavors to choose from (including some seasonal) that it can make your choice tough. The employees are very friendly and will give suggestions. I highly recommend the maple sea salt-the perfect combination of salty and sweet!

Yelp
It was my first time visiting Providence and I always love to try local bakeries since I have a big sweet tooth. Knead Doughnuts definitely hit the mark! I stopped by the shop on Saturday afternoon and there was no line. It was hard to choose what to get since they all looked so delicious. I decided on three different flavors. The banana coffee cake was a cake doughnut and reminded me of a banana bread. It had great banana flavor with hint of cinnamon. The vanilla brioche was very airy and had a vanilla bean glaze. The passion fruit was a yeast doughnut covered in a bright fruit glaze. All the doughnuts were amazing! They weren't cloyingly sweet, which is a plus. Next time I'm in Providence, I'm definitely stopping there again.

Kat D.

Yelp
Amazing!!! Ambiance, service and donuts were fantastic! Thank you so much! The variety you had blew my mind!

Lisa L.

Yelp
The yeast donuts were wonderful- kids got vanilla and sprinkles and husband got passion fruit. I got the lemon poppy seed and it was a bit dry and chewy. Service wasn't great. Nothing overtly bad but felt very much like an inconvenience for simply being there. No smiles, very short, and when asked for suggestions gave very short curt response. Didn't ask if we wanted coffee, made no attempt at true customer service. Parking is street parking but is free.

Nicholas G.

Yelp
Awesome doughnuts fancy flavors and og flavors locally owned. The staff is absolutely amazing.

Thomas A.

Yelp
Bought 4 doughnuts from here yesterday...3 chocolate chip cake and one glazed. $17...yikes! The glazed was good but the other 3 were terrible. They were overcooked and tasted like the were made in old oil....honestly, ended up throwing 2 of them away. Most likely, I won't ever be returning. If I'm spending over $4 for one doughnut, it should be the best ever...I'm not one for leaving bad reviews....but....so bad

Yelp
Knead continuously amazes me with their consistency in product as well as their outstanding customer service. As a vegan in Providence, there are fortunately quite a few options now a days for vegan treats. However when I am craving something sweet I immediately think of Knead. They have been killing it for years and I've always been a huge fan but today was something else- I ordered a vegan donut for myself and a regular donut for my roommate. I paid online and went to pick up the order where the person at the window handed me a box FULL of vegan donuts, explaining that the shop had made extra vegan donuts that day. I know that bakeries can often have a surplus of product at the end of the day, but this is a small business operating the best they can during difficult times. I hope they know it was so, so appreciated and I will always support businesses like yours

Fiona G.

Yelp
Donuts? Amazing. Staff? Beyond amazing. Everyone that works here is super friendly and clearly loves their job. There is one employee however, Tucker, who makes every weekend a little bit brighter, sunnier, happier etc. He has the best energy and is so kind and loving and even my dog who is terrified of people adores him. It's a great example of how an employee can make or break an establishment. And it doesn't hurt that the donuts are to die for.

Alissa D.

Yelp
Knead donuts are delicious not hot. Add in the warm delicious goodness of having a hot, fresh donut, the Night Crueller is a must stop on a Friday evening. They offer 3 or 4 options for hot and fresh announced on their instagram earlier in the day. Parking can be difficult because it's street only and can be limited availability but it's worth the hassle for these donuts. Trust me!

Jon G.

Yelp
We Ordered doughnuts in advance and picked them up today. Not only was the register worker and employee friendly and welcoming, but he replaced one of the doughnuts they had ran out of by giving us 2 instead of just 1. He let us pick out an extra couple of doughnuts #Win! Kind employees and the doughnuts made for a wonderful start to the day

Yelp
Knead Doughnuts recently opened its new production bakery on Cromwell Street in Pvd. This location is open on weekends 8am - 3pm and you can see doughnut making in action via windows looking into the kitchen!! And the Cromwell location also has a FRIDAY NIGHT DOUGHNUT WINDOW called the Night Cruller where guests can enjoy fresh, hot doughnuts from 6 - 9 pm! Do yourself a major favor. Hit this location ASAP!

Rick S.

Yelp
Yum! This place is great. Had a blast at the yelp event, get a good history of the business, and found out the have a window to buy warm donuts. Great donuts to choose from, and so good. Plenty to park,

Stephen G.

Yelp
The BEST old fashioned donuts I've ever had. Great variety of flavors. Love how they always have new specials! Always look forward to getting them. If you haven't tried the old fashioned chocolate chip it's a must. The location is great. There's a ton of seating so you can enjoy your donuts!

Leah A.

Yelp
Worth the trip to KNEAD Doughnuts in Providence today! They taste amazing & are well worth the drive - especially if you have an egg or dairy allergy because their vegan doughnuts are incredible! The first box is vegan vanilla glazed, the second box has carrot cake, key lime & glazed (all non-vegan). They have other vegan options, but this is what we like

Amanda B.

Yelp
I will start by saying I am a fan of knead original donuts. I like that the vanilla is thick and moist. I think it's made with sour cream? I have no idea. I do miss the earl grey one though. But today I tried the pick up window at the Cromwell street location. I am glad they are able to keep their employees working and paid. But I felt extremely uncomfortable with the location. It's in a very very low income area. I could NOT imagine living there and watching people strut by me in my own neighborhood with a box of donuts when I myself couldn't afford even one single donut. I think it is very poor taste. I understand the window is temporary for the time, but having a line that stretches into blocking people living there's drive ways and personal front doors is tasteless. These treats are a luxury item and it felt extremely wrong having them flaunted in this neighborhood especially at this time.

Erin P.

Yelp
Knead provided our wedding dessert and favors! We were able to select several flavors and donut bases to suit our party's taste. The Knead team was creative and flexible- when we suggested doughnut holes as a favor, Brit helped us getting them bagged and stamped with a custom sticker that we ordered online. Overall, the doughnut quality was excellent and the customer service was prompt and delightful. We highly recommend Knead for your dessert catering!

Danielle C.

Yelp
Just when I thought I couldn't possibly enjoy Knead Doughnuts more than I already do... Introduce "The Night Cruller" - made to order and served warm. I had the Vanilla Glaze tonight. Only downside was the guy in front of me got the last cinnamon bun, and they were only offering them tonight. So bummed, but no use crying over missed doughnuts I suppose.

Jason T.

Yelp
I love this place. They have a great selection of doughnuts. They have vegan options, as well. The raspberry filled doughnuts were excellent. Knead is a weekly destination for me. Treat yourself.

Ruben G.

Yelp
Delicious fresh donuts with no more than a 10 minute wait (and that's because they were making the next batch). Came by on a Friday evening at 7p for a box of deliciousness, and as always, no disappointment. Had missed the other two location times because of work during the day so this was perfect.

Greg J.

Yelp
Such a cool spot! Knead has always been a favorite but this new location is really cool. Same delicious donuts. The passion fruit is a fav of mine. Really cool atmosphere and if you can catch a Night Cruller night, totally worth it.

Andrew L.

Yelp
Glad they opened up a location even closer to me. The hours are limited. I've gone early on Saturday mornings and have never seen another customer, which is perfectly fine with me. Am in and out in 1 minute. Seems like they have lots of seating and would be a nice quiet place to to some work or read. One star off when 4 donuts costs over $15, but hey the donuts are delish.

Cilka C.

Yelp
I tried the Night Cruller donuts (served 6-9pm on Fridays) and WOW!! I've never had a hot donut of this quality before and it was so amazing. I tried the chocolate cake and the vanilla brioche. Both were great, but the chocolate cake was insane. I don't donuts think will ever be the same for me now.

Rebecca O.

Yelp
So awesome to have them closer to me. This location serves up the same goodness. Donuts are always fresh and taste amazing! This new location is great. I have way to many favorites. I can never choose just one! Brown Butter Pecan, passion fruit, Boston Creme, pineapple coconut. So so good. Definitely check this place out!!
