Our first introduction to Knights Steakhouse was on a random weeknight and we just had drinks at the bar. We were welcomed by the bartender and enjoyed the sports bar/steakhouse vibe, drinks were great. Upon our second visit for a weeknight dinner, we felt just as welcome even without a reservation. Once seated, we were greeted by our waiter who got our drink orders in and got us set up with menus. Some rolls were set out with our salad and they were very tasty, could have used a tad more butter. We normally like a mix of steak and seafood so we ordered the halibut with honey glaze, rice pilaf, and asparagus as well as the 6oz filet medium with veggies, risotto and an additional side of mashed potato. I loved the honey glaze on the halibut and the rice pilaf was a great starch to go with it. The steak was cooked to temp and had a fabulous crust, which I always appreciate. Asparagus was alright but fat, so don’t be surprised if you get 3 or 4 big pieces. Didn’t love the veggies that came with my steak as much, they were fresh but pretty plain. Mashed potatoes were great with the steak, a straight up scoop of potato, nothing else needed. I wouldn’t come here expecting eccentric flavors, food trends, or white tablecloth attitudes. It’s a straight up American sport steak joint for dates, dudes, dads, and families visiting their college kids. We were very pleased with the food and impressed with our waiter who was attentive but not attached and agreeable but not pushy - we felt like we were in good hands. Our orders were correct and the food came out hot. I do think they could improve on presentation or zest up their vegetable game. The bartender makes a mean last word, so they made an instant fan of me from the start.
