The Best New Restaurant Openings in NYC, April 2023 - Eater NY

"A first-time collaboration for this husband-wife team, Andrew Yuan and Seven Gu, has resulted in Knock Knock. It serves Korean barbecue wings, chicken truffle dumplings, and wagyu beef dumplings in the kitchen led by Mike Mulcahy, by way of several Miami restaurants. For brunch, expect dishes like chicken and ube waffles. Cocktails by Sunny Ng, an alum of Fushimi in Brooklyn, includes drinks like a lychee martini; a daytime coffee program is in collaboration with Coffee Project NY, which opened last year in the space. The bi-level dining area also includes a private events room." - Emma Orlow

As the rain came down and we tried to deal with drinking far too much the night before, we were treated to some really good brunch food that was a smorgasbord of fusion. The oxtail soup: Chinese and Southeast Asian. The curry: Japanese and Indian. The shrimp shumai: Chinese and Japanese. The pineapple bread: for sure Hong Kong. The food was very very very good. The only knock was the milk tea, which tasted watered down. Actually, I come here often for their really good coffee and buns. I might try the milk tea again. If it's better, then the whole place is for sure five stars. As this is a day/night, my recommendation for the coffee drinkers is the flavorful and well-brewed drip. Yeah, the drip. The notes are actually there. The espresso is good too. Also get the buns, they are pillowy and slightly sweet.

I enjoyed my dinner here - what a gorgeous restaurant! Initially was looking for coffee shop near my work and ended up coming here for dinner with family on my bday. It was three of us and shared several dishes along with drinks. Every dish was delicious! The portion is on the smaller but expected as Izakaya style inspired restaurant. Soft lighting, great selection of music that is not overpowering, pleasant service, this place provides peaceful and soothing ambience! Esp. Loved the industrial vibe with high ceiling! This place would be perfect for couples, great gathering with small groups of friends over tasty drinks, & for those who enjoy quiet dinner night out! I will definitely come back to try their coffee!

came on a Thursday night and there was no waiting The waitress was super helpful with recommendation for top picked on food and drinks. Ordered a few dim sums and cocktails. The dim sums were pretty legit with the chicken feet, soup dumpling, char siu bun. the rice with egg slurry was tasty. The cocktail were made with such care and artistic feel. Appreciate the ambiance and decor the place. The staff were very attentative and friendly.

Came here with friends to grab drinks and foods. Drinks were alright and foods were nice. What I liked the most from this place was actually its ambience. Cute interior and high ceiling was pretty nice to chill and chat with friends. Compared to regular dimsum places in chinatown, this place feels very much that of modern restaurant/bar.

I was very happy when the coffee project opened a new location in Long Island City. I appreciate their standards, quality and great coffee. I had their special latte with oat milk and it was excellent. Service was very friendly too. I was surprised how big their space was and with the number of people working/ studying from their with their laptops.

This place is the hidden gem in LIC. We went for cocktails hour, the drinks was perfect and so creative. I highly recommend 4244, was so fancy. The staffs was so welcome and nice. We decided to go back for brunch since they were located in my neighborhood. The foods and vibes are on point. Would like to go back and try more on the menus

Knock Knock has this environment that’s suitable for relaxing, eating, drinking, or just spending time with friends or significant other. It’s not your traditional Chinese dim sum place; more of a refined, upscale dim sum restaurant in a modern city with cocktails like you’ve never had before. Shumai, chicken feet, shrimp dumplings are also a must have! It’s slightly more expensive than your regular boring bland dim sum place so don’t miss the happy hour specials from 5:30pm-7:30pm.

We have noticed this place many times while passing by, but we never had the opportunity to try it until today when we decided to stop by for lunch. It was absolutely delicious, and I highly recommend it. The service was great, and we received a warm welcome. The decor is warm and modern, and just so you know, I'm a fan of CB2, and I could recognize that most of the plates are from CB2. Haha!
