Knori Hand Roll Bar

This place is such a gem! They need your patronage! Their sushi is so incredibly fresh. We love Stephanie, she is oh so sweet. We love the Toro w/Caviar and Kampachi to name a couple. But all the hand rolls are so good and fresh. We come here once a week usually!

I enjoyed dinner here on a Monday night. My partner and I were celebrating, so we chose the Chef Tasting Menu which notes on the menu it comes with an appetizer, fresh fish and handrolls. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised! The appetizer had an array of 3 hearty bites featuring fresh seafood. Second course was nigiri which tasted really good and were large pieces of fish. The handrolls were great quality too, and at the end of the meal my boyfriend and I left full. I recommend the counter seating, specifically the one facing the kitchen curtain (so perpendicular to the work station), because we got great views of the sushi chef!

The fish is SO fresh! Will definitely come back if I’m ever in the area. The bowl is small but mighty I felt pretty full after. The atmosphere is super cozy with great music.

Fabulous new hand roll spot in greenpoint. Service is top notch, the flavors are truly well balanced and impressive. Will most definitely be making this a regular stop in greenpoint! Best hand rolls I’ve ever tried in NYC. We had the premium sampler with scallop, kampachi (my fav), toro (second fav), salmon and snow crab (real crab). So light & refreshing. Must try! Our waiter Colby was super attentive and knowledgeable- fantastic experience overall.

Love it ! Greenpoint needs more restaurants like this. Simple menu serving small sushi tacos / hand rolls. Great for lunch or dinner. The owner was there and was so kind and committed to serving healthy good sushi.

Knori is such a great surprise. I had walked by this restaurant a few times and finally decided to sit at the bar for dinner. The setting is unpretentious and low key, yet the food is remarkably elevated. The hand rolls have layered, subtle flavors that don't need soy sauce. But I also have to note the soy sauce, ginger, and wasabi are clearly high quality. The wasabi was very gentle, fresh, and bright (definitely not the powder type). I ordered the following hand rolls: salmon avocado hand, scallop, shitaike mushroom, and snow crab. ALL were divine. The service was great too. The sushi chef explained what was included in each hand roll, and the server was really kind and attentive. I highly recommend. I will be back!

Pleasantly surprised and satisfied with this new handroll spot on Greenpoint Ave. it's a great addition to the neighborhood. A friend and I enjoyed this delicious meal during a Friday long lunch. We both ordered the $36 Classic 5-piece set (tuna, kampachi, salmon, scallop, shrimp) which also came with a salad. We both LOVED it. Tip: they allow small dogs during lunch hours (unsure about dinner)

I was not sure what to expect (like would the appetizer be just a serving of edamame??) but I was pleasantly surprised! The appetizer had an array of 3 hearty bites featuring fresh seafood! One of the pieces was a toast with toro, uni, roe, and caviar!! I needed to take several bites to eat it, which was fine with me because I wanted to savor it. :D Second course was nigiri which tasted really good and were large pieces of fish. The handrolls were great quality too, and at the end of the meal my boyfriend and I left full. I recommend the counter seating, specifically the one facing the kitchen curtain (so perpendicular to the work station), because we got great views of the sushi chef! The service was on top of it as well- cleared our plates when we were done with courses and brought more water etc. I do wish the sushi chef shared more about each of the bites once he handed them to us, ie. the type of fish/seafood or the ingredients that were paired with the nigiri.

RUN don't walk to Knori Hand Roll Bar in Greenpoint! This spot has the best of both worlds - fantastic a la carte hand rolls and a 10 course omakase with a delicious dessert at the end. I sat at the counter and got to see how fresh the fish was for every single dish! The chef and staff here are incredible and attentive and the atmosphere is ideal. Above all, the food was truly impeccable - and you absolutely cannot skip the A5 Waygu, the snow crab, and the shrimp hand rolls! I also cannot recommend the "chef tasting" enough to get the best of their whole menu, including the crepe cake which was off the charts amazing! I'll be back soon to revisit every single dish I tried!!

Borderline scam place. The portions are super small and they are selling as 'hand rolls' what amounts to just one peace of sushi size wise. 15 dollars (plus tax it is 17) for that thin slice (see picture). I almost walked out of this scam. There is a good chance the current reviews are fake as I can't. Believe this place is liked by anyone.

Nice addition to the neighborhood. The service was great and the portions were generous. I tried one of the sets of hand rolls and appreciated the chefs attention to detail with providing the rolls in a unique way to keep the seaweed fresh and crispy.

The hand rolls are buttery fresh and delicious. They have sets or you can order individually. I tried 6 different rolls and everything was 10 out of 10. The service was incredible as well. They were so attentive to everyone and the vibes are so chill. I come grocery shopping over here and this will have to be a regular stop for me.

We just went to Knori for the first time tonight and it was delicious. Food came out quickly and it was fresh and light. The staff was nice as well. We will be back soon!

We showed up around 6pm and were seated at a table. We ordered shortly thereafter and got four of the premium sets, the scallop carpaccio, and the seaweed salad. The scallop carpaccio was great (just whole scallops, not sure if it should be categorized as carpaccio) and the seaweed salad was standard. We were told we couldn't switch the garden salad which comes with the handroll set for the miso soup (miso soup was $5 vs the garden salad was $8) because it's a palate cleanser before the hand rolls. Somewhat odd but rules are rules and if the chef thinks it goes well then great. We receive the garden salads at the same time as the appetizers - didn't like the dressing it was not light and refreshing nor was it the more classic orange dressing. We then proceeded to wait 45 minutes before our handroll sets arrived (mind you, the restaurant is not at all busy and they appear to be sending out some mobile orders before the in-person orders of the ~7 people in the restaurant). Palate, no longer cleansed. The soy sauce that they brought out was a tiny drop in a dish and two out of four of us ran out and wanted more - bizarre item to skimp on. The handrolls themselves were served like Nami Nori with the plastic on because we were not sitting at the counter and was fine but nothing special. If you like Nami Nori, you'll like it. Service needs work - would have been nice for them to at least apologize/acknowledge waiting an hour between ordering and receiving the handrolls was ridiculous.
