Knot Norm’s - Norwalk

The lobster roll was one of the best I've ever had, they certainly don't skimp on the portion, you get what you paid for. The steak and cheese roll was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the whole belly clams were perfectly crispy and delicious. I also highly recommend trying the Captain Zip summer ale; it paired really well with the food.

This was my first time experiencing Knot Norms and it was so good. I had the lobster bisque while my friend had the pork belly roll. The lobster bisque was so delicious I almost placed an order to go.

Fresh food. Clean restaurant and awesome service. Quality and taste amazing! We ordered the steak and cheese, shishito peppers and of course a lobster roll. Definitely a must try. Hidden gem. Yeah the lobster rolls are $38…. A bit much. Way too much for a sandwich. Could have been a steak somewhere else.

I dream of this place, and when I can come back. We travel from Brooklyn and it's worth every bite. Casual cute little place with fresh seafood and nice service. The lobster rolls are overflowing with tender meat, the bun is lightly toasted and buttery. The steamers had right amount of juiciness and bite - perfect flavors. Lobster bisque - never been a fan - but this is a bowl of liquid gold- generous chunks of lobster in silky soup. Knot Norm's serves food that makes you do a lil dance in your seat it's so freggin delicious.

We had a great time there. Lobster roll was terrific. Staff is gregarious. Chef is CIA trained. Wirth the trip.

Really good seafood restaurant in the Norwalk area. The restaurant is clean and has a nice small town ambience. Food is really good and portion size is sufficient per person. Lobster roll and fish salad really stood out. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Definitely will revisit

Outside and inside seating available. Food was okay, it was pretty pricey for a lobster roll that comes with chips from Costco. I got the fries and they were delicious for an up charge. Nevertheless, the lobster roll really didn't need the extra grease with the aioli, I was hoping it had like a bright flavor, I was disappointed. It was basically just mayo. No thanks. Service was fine, and it's a cute spot. I especially liked the salt and pepper holders. Gave the place more character. The oysters were pretty fresh, but lacked flavor as we got the cooked not raw oysters. The pork belly roll was fine. Next time, I would like to try a bowl.

Very fresh lobster, melts in your mouth with warm toasty bread! Awesome ambiance if you sit outside, light breeze and you can see the action.

The service was excellent and only surpassed by the quality of the food! We loved sitting outside. Totally recommend the lobster bisque and Copps Island oyster!

I was expecting more given the other reviews. The lobster roll is market price and today's price was too steep for me so I tried the fish tacos. It kind of felt like they took Gordons fish sticks and put them on stale tortillas. I do have to say the slaw and salsa were both fresh and very tasty, but the tortilla was hard and made the meal really not good for me. I'm sorry to leave this review because I was expecting so much more.

Was looking for good seafood close to 95 in Norwalk and Norm's fit the bill. We found parallel parking on the street close by. Sit down service or takeout, with a small indoor area. There is some limited outdoor seating too. The clam chowder ($10 as of October '24) was delicious, as well as the lobster roll (market price was $38). The lobster roll was a split top, buttered bun with lightly mayo'd meat. Came with coleslaw, pickle slices, and chips. My friend ordered the fried oyster roll and reported that it tasted very good, but didn't have very many pieces of oyster in it.

Every thing was great, seafood was fresh. Lobster was sweet and tender. Fried oyster wasn't greasy. Was crunchy, light and the coleslaw lime and dill are the perfect accompany. The bread is soft and fluffy. The wings were good and messy this is a nitpick but I wish there were at least two flats. The only other issue I had was the table was sticky. I believe the wood finishing didn't cure correctly, this is a pet peeve of mine. But enough critiques the staff was great, food was great. Go and enjoy!

First off this place is small, but has real big flavors. I had the lobster bowl, and was surprised on the depth of flavor not just from the lobster but everything else in it. Service was great. Street parking is available. A must try if your in Norwalk

SOOO GOOD!! Came here for the lobster roll and they did not disappoint. It was $40 for the roll but they put the whole lobster in it, two claws and the tail. It comes in a warm butter sauce and has a special aioli spread at the bottom of the bun. Delicious!! I would come back for sure. Lobster roll was served with cape cod chips but you can switch it out for fries. We also got the lobster bisque to share and it was also amazing. So flavorful and has chunks of lobster in it. Comes with soup crackers. Service was super friendly and youthful. They're fast and it's a nice place to quickly sit down and enjoy good seafood.

BEST LOBSTER ROLL!! Plus the shrimp tacos were pretty amazing as well. Stopped here with my family on our way to mystic ct and WOW! We've been in CT for a full week and have eaten many lobster rolls and we all agree the one here was the best! Cute and small inside with a Lovely staff. Highly recommend!

Easily one of the best lobster rolls I've ever had and definitely the best one I've had in Connecticut! They have a ton of other options that looked great as well - we tried the steak and cheese which was so good and flavorful. The clam chowder was are also very tasty. Great vibes and attentive service as well!

This place is an absolute gem! In my book, it serves the best lobster roll in Norwalk, Connecticut. My boyfriend devoured the pork belly roll and loved it. Their menu has some real winners. Despite its cozy size, it's a hidden treasure worth discovering. The staff is friendly, however they are often very busy and they forgot to give us menus as we sat down. You can choose to enjoy your meal in their charming outdoor nook or cozy up indoors. Parking might be a bit tricky on the small side road, but it's manageable. I'm definitely marking my calendar to return here before summer slips away.

The portions were just right and I didn't find myself overwhelmed by the amount of food; the lobster was really really good and fresh ; And the wait staff was nice Would return but probably just for pickup because I don't enjoy the stools as seats ; hard when you have a back injury. It might be cognitive dissonance. At $38.00, I am not giving the lobster roll anything less than five stars. But we all thought the lobster rolls were fantastic before we knew the price. Toasty, buttery and filled with a ton of claw, knuckle and tail meat. The price includes a bag of Cape Cod chips, and tiny cups of pickles and slaw. It seems like most patrons upgrade to fries. Every order that went by featured the lobster roll, so accompanied. You might get a sweeter lobster roll in Maine, but not a more generous one. I had begun with the clam chowder, a bacony broth more similar to Maine versions than Boston style. Unlike another Yelp reviewer I preferred the lack of cream, it seemed to have been enhanced with a light roux. The cup was garnished with fresh chives, it could have been a little hotter. The feinschmeker and LA Portena shared an order of baked oysters and gave them the thumbs up. I had a draft which was identified as a watermelon ale. It was refreshing. A New England vibe in the New York metro. Friendly, efficient service completes the picture. Give yourself a few extra minutes to find parking.

Soo yummy! Had to try the fish tacos, oysters, lobster roll, and calm chowder. All were super good. Staff are nice, and the outdoor seating is pleasant. A little expensive but it's good quality seafood so I can't complain about that.

We arrived shortly after they opened around 11:45 am and the restaurant was not too busy. Things started well enough but the server soon informed us they were out of 3 of their 5 daily specials. We ordered a beet and apple salad to share as a starter. The waitress delivered the salad and said she would bring us some plates. A few minutes later she had not brought the plates so I had to go ask for them. She apologize and brought them. The salad was good, although it had 0 beets. I told another server that our beet and apple salad was missing beets and he said he would find out why (no apology). He also informed us that they were out of the pork belly roll we ordered as well. About 2 minutes later our entrees came. It would have been nice if they told us they were out of pork belly earlier so we could have ordered a substitute. Instead, the substitute entree came out a good 10-15 minutes later, after we had pretty much finished eating. I asked the server a second time about the salad and he admitted he had forgotten about it. He eventually removed the salad from the bill, which I appreciated. We also had to ask for our water cups to be refilled. I do have to give props to the one server (a dark haired woman) who was attentive in bussing the table, but I felt 2 of the 3 servers (blonde woman and a dark haired man) were not really on their games, especially since the restaurant was not particularly busy (maybe 6 or 7 tables total). The food was actually pretty tasty. We ordered the beet and apple salad (which came with no beets), a crab roll, steak and cheese and brisket roll. The rolls are small but have a decent helping of protein. They are served with a big of chips and tiny cups of pickles and coleslaw. The food is a bit pricey for what it is. I would try Knot Norm's again, but probably get takeout to avoid issues with the inattentive service.

This place has the best lobster rolls on the planet earth, and the fries are killer too! Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area and craving seafood!

Very interesting this place has the most expensive lobster roll I have ever seen at $40. For that price I'd expect the amount of lobster to be absolutely enormous and heaping. How can they justify a lobster roll at $40?

The clam chowder was execrable. No cream. They used a roux to thicken the soup. Just as well the portion was the size of a lab specimen cup. Inedible. Now for the bad news. The portions are hobbit-sized. Glad I ordered a bowl. At least the rice was filling. The others ordered rolls, one fried chicken and one lobster. Tasty rolls but child-sized portions. And the chips? By the beard of Zeus, why low fat potato chips? Did I mention the Cole slaw? The size of a Burger King catsup container. Hard pass. Cannot account for the photos showing lavish portions.

The food was fantastic, I had the fried oyster roll, my wife had the lobster roll. Both were full of meaty fish. I'm a beer guy, and to have Industrial Arts Wrench on tap, which takes some doing... someone knows and cares about the draft beers selected. Great food, great service, great ambiance! We will be back! I can't post a food pic because I inhaled it before I thought about posting...

The best lobster roll, hands down! I never order lobster rolls bc I can never justify paying so much money for a hot dog bun sized meal. I really craved one while we were in the area one day and glad this was the place I chose to go to to satisfy it. Now anytime I bring the kids to the aquarium this is a must stop by before we head back home. Sooo good.

Cute little place. Food was delicious. Service was nice and friendly. We split a lobster roll (so good) and cooked oysters (wouldn't get them again). He got the brisket sandwich (which he said was pretty good, which is huge coming from a picky eater) and I got one fish taco. Let me tell you about this taco. For some reason I wasn't expecting fried/breaded fish, and I definitely wasn't expecting something that looked like an extra long fish stick. I sighed and thought, well, it's not like I'll ever eat here again (since we live several states away). I took a bite into the taco and OMG!!! So freakin' good. It definitely didn't taste like a fish stick. The sauce and flavor combination was an absolute delight. Fries were addicting. This place is definitely worth checking out for a taste of New England.

Terrible customer service- we were waiting for good half hour to get anything- including water. No one came to the table during the meal or towards the end to even clean the plates. The food is mediocre and not worth the price we paid. $38 plus $4 fee for French fries makes a lobster roll $42. Probably the most expensive lobster roll I've ever had- including in the nicer establishments. Clam chowder was sub warm and fried oyster were tasteless. Maybe this place was great when first opened up but not worth the money and time. Really wanted to like it but was highly disappointed

Restaurant Feel: The ambiance was good, the restaurant had a very costal feel with kitschy décor. The octopus salt and pepper holder was very unique and a nice detail. Food: The Lobster Roll was very good, the lobster was well cooked and well seasoned and a good portion size with a bag of chips as a side. The market price at the time was 38 but still seemed on the expensive side for the region. Service: The service was good however there were a few things that could be improved upon. The servers couldn't decide whether or not to dim or turn the lights on, it was confusing and a little disconcerting. The severs also could not decide on whether or not to leave the door open which caused a number of flies to enter the building. Overall the service was good just a bit disjointed.

Fast service on a Saturday night. We are brand new in town and really wanted to try a CT style Lobster roll. They didn't disappoint! The Lobster roll was warm and delicious with the perfect amount of melted butter. We also tried the fried whole belly clams which were great. I would go back.

Knot into Norms! I wanted to like this place so desperately but we went on a Wednesday which is apparently the day they get shipments, and they were out of pretty much everything, including their famed lobster roll. It also felt like the parents left the kids in charge of the restaurant. tables were not bussed and it was pure chaos. The icing on the cake was waiting over an hour for our food.

Great, high quality food and ingredients. Friendly staff and casual atmosphere make this place a joy to eat at.

Destination lunch for us today. Went specifically for the lobster rolls. I knew the price ahead of time and hoped the amount of lobster would not disappoint. We ordered a fried shrimp dumpling for an appetizer and it was delicious. When the lobster rolls and chips were brought to us I was blown away by the amount of lobster. We both thought they were delicious and we realized we would only need a salad for dinner. We were stuffed. The only disappointment were the beverage selections.

Lobster rolls and a nice selection of draft beer. The owners came out to the patio and introduced themselves and brought our dogs a treat!

Sunday June 25- at 2:10pm 2023 Service from the host and waitress is awful. I was really really hyped about trying this place for the first time and was disappointed with the greeting and customer service my family and I were given. No hello, no eye contact, or smile, I said "hello do you have a table available for my grandmother and gf? It's our first time here ". Place wasn't super busy and a few tables were open. The host with a lost and lazy look on her face then handed me 2 wrinkled menus- With no direction on where to sit. When I said hello to the other server to see if she would direct us - she just looked at me like she ignored me. She didn't even say hello back. After standing there confused for 5 min of not being taken care of , I turned around and gave the menus back to them and we left. They were so rude. Price is not an issue for me if the service is at least welcoming and friendly. I will not go back. I will also not recommend this place to friends and family which I'm sure the owner would like to discuss on what transpired. It's your establishment. Please check your employees. Place looks nice.

Came here again on Mother's Day and was not disappointed. This time started with the NE Clam Cowder and hubby the lobster bisque and both were delicious. Clams still tender, and I liked the smal.bits of bacon for texture but thought it took away from the chowder a bit. The lobster rolls were again excellent as per the ladt review - perfectly cooked and just the right amount in the roll. I'm so glad the quality is still there!

Our second trip here was every bit as good as our first. Only difference was crowd size since it was a weekday & lucky for us since we were with family visiting from Hawaii. The food is innovative, fresh and remarkably tasty. Price point seems high but given the quality and the wonderfully friendly service it is certainly worth it albeit a splurge for special occasions, which this happened to be. Do not miss the roasted oysters !!!!

I swear to god this has got to be one of the best New England styled seafood restaurants I've been to. Went on a Tuesday night visiting the brother and came in at around 8pm. Restaurant wasn't packed - we were the only table there other than Norm and his family there. We got two lobster rolls (with chips or fries), two tacos, a Narragansett beer, and fried oysters. We were royally stuffed at 83 bucks which is a decent price considering the quality of food we got. AMBIANCE: Its a small shop, its very low key, but the staff (Norm and his family) were incredibly accommodating and friendly! We definitely had a really good conversation (albeit brief) tonight. PROS: Highlights definitely were the lobster roll and the tacos! The lobster roll is immaculate! It was SO juicy, the bread bun it was in was toasted to a perfect buttery crisp, and the lobster was incredibly fresh! The cilantro and zestiness from the lemons broke down the butteriness of the bun and lobster which made a great balance. Not too salty, not too peppery. Hands down one of the best lobster rolls I've ever had. And for 23 dollars (its market priced) I think we scored an incredible deal factoring the size (its BIG), the amount of sides, and the freshness of the roll. Fish tacos were incredible as well! For ten dollars you get two tacos with a side of chips. The fish was very fresh, and the mango salsa on top made it an interesting and fresh texture. Also check out their fries - I am not a huge carb fan but having their fries - light, airy, crispy literally blew my mind away. CONS: Oysters were decent, but I wasn't too big of a fan of how cheesy it was. For the tacos and oysters I recommend the chefs adding a touch of heat to it as I think that would definitely elevate a lot of the flavors in it. MISC: Check out their plate of hot sauces. Norm's wife recommended the Turks and Caicos Ghost Pepper Sauce. If you want smoke coming out of your ears from hot sauce greatness, that's gotta be your go to. OVERALL: YES! Will come back for fresh seafood! Incredibly grateful for such a great meal from Norm and his family. Looking forward in being hungry for more of Knot Norms!!

A fun,friendly, casual place. Yes, the price of the lobster roll has gone up but it is meaty. Check the price before you order. This is inflation and it sucks for everyone- restaurants included. The fries were flavorful. My complaint is that the fish tacos were long breaded fish sticks on taco shells with some herbs and canned pineapple garnish ( different from my previous experience). My friends got the lobster bisque, chicken fingers, pork belly roll- no complaints. Hope the restaurant weathers this storm!

I'm not sure what the hype is or why all the positive reviews. Our usual spot was closed on a cold Saturday so we decided to give this place a try. We left feeling very underwhelmed. Originally we went in for lobster rolls, but at a whopping $35 price tag "their market price for the day" we said no way. That's the highest priced lobster roll I've ever heard anywhere. Instead we had a buffalo chicken sandwich (which was very salty) and a shrimp salad sandwich, which was tiny and served with plain 'wonder style' bread slice. Both came with a bag of chips. If you're going to charge $17 for a chicken salad sandwich, why not make your own side? Also comes with a tiny spoonful serving of cold slaw. At $17, it's way overpriced. Ordered a bowl of clam chowder to share, and that took about 15mins to come out. That was actually pretty good, but not enough to give this place another try. We left still hungry and had to dine elsewhere. For better quality food, experience and price, we will stick to Ripkas.

Good service good food and it's in a nice spot in Norwalk. I would recommend this place and the next time 95 blows up in going to stop bye.

Had lunch here after a morning at Stepping Stones Children's Museum. Very cute, small spot with a variety of things to try. Lobster bisque was too thick and needed a little something - salt, hot sauce, both? The lobster was well cooked and a decent portion Fish taco was like a fish stick - just ok Lobster roll was overly salted but was cooked well and on delicious bread The Copps Island roll was the winner. Tender meat, very flavorful with amazing aioli on the same bread as the lobster roll. Both rolls came with delicious coleslaw and (presumably) housemate pickles Kids grilled cheese with fries was very well received. Very reasonably priced for the amount of food we got. Definitely a must visit when in the area

Really love this cute spot which is conveniently located next to mr frostys. We've had the lobster roll, lobster & chicken bowl, Pork belly roll and the fries which were all great! I would give this a 5 star but both times we went service was super slow, one time they forgot one of our friend's dishes and the other had a slight mixup. I'd recommend going off peak as I'm sure it will be quicker service!

We killed it! Lobster rolls/chicken wings and shrimp taco was amazing. So yummy our first time but we will be back. We ate every morsel. Loved it!

OMG - I cannot wait to move to SoNo and become a regular here!!! Best lobster roll I have ever had and the pickles! I don't know their secret but damn! They have an extensive collection of beers for people that like that sort of thing - loved that they had choices for people like me and the Loyal Lemonade could get you in serious trouble since you can't taste the alcohol at all! Yikes! I want another lobster roll right now ....

Great food. Casual, beachy atmosphere. Definitely recommend the "bowls". Nice mixture of flavors in the bowls.
