Where to Eat and Drink in Oceanside

"The restaurant/artist gallery gives diners the space to savor meals while surrounded by works from local artists. The rotating art pieces inspire plates on the menu. Try the bacon-wrapped New York strip steak or cornmeal fried rabbit, along with cocktails like “Ignorance is Bliss,” made with Batch 22 aquavit." - Helen I. Hwang

Google
An interactive sensory experience featuring local art and amazing food. The bartender was the star of the night-everything was beautiful and tasty with some really surprising combinations. The food matches the art! I’d go back for the duck in a heartbeat. I can’t wait to come back for the next artist.

Christina Coons

Google
Love the concept and experience that aligns the menu with the artists work. The food is creative, fresh, and delicious. A variety of options for heavier or lighter appetites. A fun cocktail offering to choose from as well.

Danielle M

Google
I just heard about this new place opening up. I love the concept of art paired with food and drinks which changes every few months. I was only grabbing a cocktail this time but I'd love to come back to try the food! I had the dahlia cocktail which was delicious and beautiful: tequila, violet and egg white. I loved the art as well. Definitely check them out!

Louis Garcia

Google
I had a fantastic experience. Not only does the place beautifully showcase art that can be bought but the drinks were an art in themselves. Thanks to our amazingly talented bartender Rico, we had some of the best drinks we’ve literally ever had. 10/10 would recommend.

Google
Love the concept, love the cocktails and love the food. The concept features local artist with menu and cocktail creations inspired by the art. So it is a new experience with every installation. Brilliant!

Google
Bottom line, KNVS is a great place to see local art (and buy if you're feeling it), as well as sip good cocktails and grab a nibble. Service - The service was good. I would say it was exactly what should be expected. We were visiting because our friends own a rum distillery and they got their rum on the menu (Clever Fox, you should check them out). The bartender and server were both polite, but we did have to remind the bartender of our second drink order. Noise/Sound - The music was good. Pleasant volume and good selection. Food/Taste - I ordered the Poutine and my wife ordered the Veggie Ratatouille. Both were delicious and good portion sizes. Drinks - We only drank the Foxtails. Initially because we wanted to support our friends, then ordered seconds because they were very good. Price - The cost was fair. I'd say they're right on par with what you'd expect (generally speaking) and on par with everything in the area. Will we return to KNVS in the future? If we lived closer we'd come often, but will likely only return if meeting others in Oceanside.

Google
Great concept paired with good food. Brought our 5yr old here and they catered to her neediness within reason of the menu. We will come back again.

Don't pause, RUN to this new spot to enjoy cocktails and small bites inspired by the rotating installations of fine art! The ambiance and craft here are beyond comparison. It makes our small beach town feel like a cultured urban center where you can enjoy artist collaborations of your dreams. Visual art meets the arts designed for refined palates, with a mellow and friendly ambiance accessible and joyful for anyone lucky enough to visit. I truly love this place!

Yelp
This is the BYST place to HYT the OSide in the last year. You may think KNVS is an acronym but it is really a blank canvas for themed cocktails and cuisine in NCSD, an actual acronym. We visited during the new exhibit; focused on the band Sublime. A call for submissions in the community, in addition to art contributed by former frontman Bradley Nowell's son lined the walls to view and/or purchase. What I got... Cocktails: Superstar Punani Cuisine: Main - Smoked 4 Joints Dessert - The Greatest Hits and Finale - a Slow Ride I stuck to Vodka and Whiskey and enjoyed the pork rolled tacos and citrus flan, so much I was ready for seconds on EVRTNG. Exhibits will rotate approximately every quarter with a new theme, but goals of building community will be at the forefront of each show. Many to include live music and a chance to give to charity. We sat in the window seats. A band played Sublime tunes, while surrounded by patrons inside the small business enjoying the ENVRNS. Get your 40oz. of Freedom here and it's on menu. Look forward to the next rotation. They even offer colored pencils and a blank canvas to create your own art. #YelpOside #Sublime #SoLoveTheOneYouGot #BradleyNowell #KNVS

Yelp
I agree with Shay C. This place was very unfriendly and almost caustic. The food was underwhelming for sure. A friend of mine told me last week that they had closed. I don't know if that is accurate but it doesn't surprise me. PS. We phoned them and their phone number was disconnected

Yelp
FABULOUS meal here at this great gallery-bar-restaurant in a boutique hotel in Oceanside. If you haven't been here yet, Yelp fam, you're missing out! I first read about this place in a local magazine - a Marine veteran and firefighter, Kevin Shin, has become a restauranteur and has 4 concepts in this hotel. This one has changing art installations every few months - and then the food and bar menus for the season are inspired by the art. It took me a few months to try it out but I'm so glad I did! Very serious bar program and tremendous creativity in the kitchen - and so chill! KNVS is next to the coffee shop in this hotel, and then the Switchboard Restaurant has a bigger menu. We were planning to eat outside & had made reservations - but the outside chairs at KNVS have half-backs so we decided to eat just next to the window inside, since the restaurant has large windows open to the patio and it felt as COVID safe as outdoor dining. There are two different menus here - the "Haetae Menu" which is Korean street food and which remains the same. I got the vegan Pajeon (pancake) - which was 3 huge vegetable pancakes for $9. SUPER!! Then from the current KNVS art-pairing menu, I also got a COCKTAIL, which was honestly one of the best I've had (read my reviews - you'll see I'm picky about my cocktails). SO well balanced. The owner Kevin came out and was giving some tips - he also recommended the Ignorance Is Bliss, which is made with Aquavit. But I opted to go for the A Sailor's Life, which is gin + aperol + lime + coconut +angostura bitters. LOVED everything about it. It was a pretty pink from the aperol but also so complex and bitter and refreshing and not too sweet at all. Just sniffing the lime on the top (which had more bitters on it? or something else) was a real joy. I'd totally come back here for this and/or try other cocktails. Main courses: my sweetie got the "Crucial BBQ" from the current art-themed menu (2 nathan's original hot dog sliders 2 wagyu blend | aged cheddar cheese burger sliders pickled red onions | housemade cola mustard housemade pomegranate ketchup | potato nest) and I got the SURF CHECK (peppered ahi tataki sashimi chilled sea bean salad | jalapeno ponzu). I had wanted to try the vegan Carl Sagan's Shrooms dish - but they were out tonight. Still I saw the Surf Check on their Instagram page and thought it looked good, even though I don't normally like cold entrees. It was extremely flavorful and a lot of fun. I loved the sea bean salad and the tuna was excellent. The spice level hit me at a certain point and I couldn't finish the sea beans, but I definitely recommend this dish. Now, the Surf Check is still light, even if the Pajeon was huge - and I was drinking - so of course I needed dessert! They have just two items - but one was profiteroles, and I'm a sucker for profiteroles! Loved that they were not huge - $8 for two cute little mini profiteroles rather than big eclair size ones. Cookies and cream ice cream in the middle, excellent pastry, and super chocolate sauce. I approve! Loved coming here - and y'all should too, because clearly more folks need to KNOW. Parking is also so much easier here than downtown Carlsbad - or North Park. Try it out y'all - the bar program is great and the food is fun and serious! Thank you chef Michael Mitchem, Jessie and Eve who served us tonight, Rico who designed the drinks - and the owner Kevin!!

Yelp
Art + cocktails, two of my favorites in one place! KNVS is a great concept. We visited around 8pm on a Saturday night, and the small bar was about half full. The artwork looked dreamy and the menus tasty. The cocktails are excellent. They're creative and inspired by the Astronomy art collection, which made for moody magical vibes. A great cocktail bar that serves food, even better! And the food is very good. We sampled a couple items from their permanent Haetae menu, and portions were large and everything flavorful. Reading all these reviews about icy service had me a little apprehensive, but the bartender and server were both super welcoming and friendly. We asked a few questions about ingredients, and they were patient and knowledgeable with their replies. I loved the casual atmosphere; this is a great place to chill and chat over beautiful drinks. I recommend coming on a warmer night since they keep their windows & door open, even when it's quite cold out! KNVS would definitely benefit from a few space heaters, otherwise pack your coat. Looking forward to their next exhibition and menu!

Yelp
We went during the Sublime tribute theme and loved it! The live music was amazing and the drinks were incredible!! Great service too, everyone was very nice. Such a fun spot to go to with friends for a casual yet fun night out.

Yelp
Let me start by saying the fact that this place does not have 5 stars is malarkey- this spot is AMAZING! Do not sleep on this spot if you are in Oceanside or live in the north county/San diego area everything we had was amazing. My husband and I enjoyed our Valentine's Day dinner here and had a beautiful time enjoying amazing food, quaint ambiance and Kevin (owner) and Rico (bartender) were amazing company! We had the beef taco and vegan pajeon from the haetae menu - both were excellent and so flavorful. From the seasonal menu we had the pigs in space, chicken nebula and the bambalone for desert. Usually there is one dish I would leave out but honestly everything was so delicious it's going to be tough coming here again and deciding what to try because the whole menu looked amazing. I have no doubt we would have left feeing the same no matter what we ordered. Both cocktails we ordered (pink nebula and stardust) were well made and balanced! I'm kicking myself for not trying this place sooner! Do yourself a favor and make a reservation and enjoy! It's places like KNVS that make me feel blessed to live in Oceanside!

Yelp
Oh My Freaking Goodness!! You're about to read one of my best reviews ever. a friend of mine took me to this place and did not explain that this restaurant brings in concept artists every four months. Welcome to the Sublime engagement! Sponsored by the Bradley Nowell foundation Menu is called Bradley's House! The food was absolutely amazing, the tacos, the wings, and every drink we sampled was exceptional. Finished off with some old fashions while I was sitting under his original fake ID. You MUST stop down if you have a chance

Yelp
Very unique artsy bar! My friend and I had a fantastic time there today. We were looking to rest and have a drink and a bite somewhere with AC since the heat wave and long beach walk made us so lethargic. I found this place (difficult name to remember, thought) on Yelp and we found parking just by the door, so all perfect. Then the magic started when we saw the artwork of artist Margaret Chiaro and she herself there being super charming, beautiful and humble. The talked to her and another artist who taught me to paint with oils in a mini free class! The amazing things that happen there! The menu is pretty singular, matching with the art on display subject. In November, when they will change the exhibit to something more celestial who knows what starry dishes we will get! I love the halibut and shrimp ceviche in tomatillo sauce. They have different type of beers, cocktaild and also you can get Korean style tacos there (second mini menu). Don't forget to call your inner child and play with the colored pencils in the Moscow mule cups to unleash the artist in you. Fun and lovely bar.

Yelp
We love trying new places and I REALLY wanted to love this place. When I saw this show up as Hot and New a few months ago, I couldn't wait for when we would get the opportunity to go. The concept sounded really unique and fun... something that is always welcome in our fair town. We had a reservation at 5pm and showed up about 15-20 minutes early. The door was open so we walked in. There were two men inside that said they hadn't set up yet so come back in 20 minutes. There are some shops close by so that wasn't a problem. We were seated and given the menus when we came back. The waiter explained the concept. After that he brought some water out. I asked for some sparkling water and he corrected me saying you mean Soda Water? Um... ok... I guess soda water? It all kind of started to go downhill from there. We ordered the charcuterie plate and the shrimp nebula with polenta and chili oil. We also ordered our dinner, which was the chicken, the octopus (which they didn't have- only fried calamari) and the lemongrass dusted salmon. Everything looked delicious, but the proportions were kind of off on everything. They put so much cheese on the plate but very few crackers and bread. The cheese was delicious and I asked for more crackers and I got an uhhhh. I said I don't mind paying for more. He went in the kitchen and came back telling me no. I couldn't have any more because everything is portioned out. Huh??? I mean, do they just get everything in some to go box and can't break up the set? That was such a bizarre answer, but no big deal I guess. I still had dinner coming. The calamari was on a long plate of almost emptiness with a pile at the end. My chicken was a piece of chicken with potatoes and a giant pile of spinach. Spinach wilts a lot when you cook it so man, it looked like they gave me one family sized bag on my plate. I like spinach, but wow. Waaaaay too much lol. My daughter had the salmon with potatoes and she said everything was so dry, it was making her cough in between sips of water. I'm going to preface this part saying that yes....sometimes I ask stupid questions. It's not on purpose I swear! Once I asked a man in a pizza place that told me they only had 18" pizzas what size the 18 inch pizza was. Oops! I'm slow... Each item on the menu apparently has some space reference mixed in with the actual ingredients of the item. I ordered the filled donuts and asked what something listed meant. The waiter looks at it. Stares at it... then says some comment like I don't know I didn't learn scientific terms. I'm not a scientist or something like that and starts walking away. At that moment I realized it was not an ingredient but man.... thanks. His general attitude with correcting me earlier and just the general tone throughout already felt off and unwelcoming but now he's making me feel stupid. At that point I was ready to get our food and leave. When he brings the bill by, you know the tip recommendations that are sometimes on the check? 15/18/20 percent along with the calculations. They have 20/25/30 listed. Seriously? That made me laugh. I'm a very good tipper and he generally when I see a 15/18/20 tip suggestion, I end up giving 25 or more. Suggesting 30%. Maybe give service that deserves something higher if you are going to put something like that. All in all, the concept is cute, but the food was so so and the service was not cute. I've been to some pretty amazing restaurants all around the world and by far, this one had the most snotty and unwelcoming service I've ever experienced. Oh and I noticed after we were walking out that everyone else had paper and colored pencils on their tables except for us. What's up with that? sigh....

Yelp
As a local, i loved it! Not new hotel pretentious but not a dive bar either. Cool, comfy vibe you can dress up for date night or go casual in jeans and a tank. Features art and pairs food and cocktail menu around it. Was just going to check out the live music we heard from the street and have a drink but ended up getting the spam and pineapple crème brulee- yup- pineapple- amazing - why has no one thought of this before?? Was craving a Manhatten with Amaretto , no amaretto but turns out that was great luck because they suggested one with macadamia and now im obsessed. Great singer, friendly and attentive bartenders and servers and great cocktails and dessert.

Yelp
Great mocktails and the wings are amazing. If you like to express yourself through art, and have a good time, this is the place to go.

Yelp
We had really great, personal service. We came in on a rainy night and there were few other guests. The food came quick and was delicious. A few items surprised us. We will definitely add it to the date night rotation.

Yelp
Yelp says KNVS is closed on Monday's. Place was most definitely open, with live music. Decided to come in with a reservation of 11 for a friends birthday dinner. All of the food was amazing. Short ribs had some spice to them, but we're to die for. Chicken and waffles were delectable. Our server Clint was new, & did absolutely amazing. We're never been here before, but we'll definitely be back!! Thank you Clint!

Yelp
Walked in at 6:30. Had to call the server over to even get noticed at 6:50 after thebhost/owner told us to sit anywhere and someone would be with us shortly. Wife and I ended up ordering 2 drinks and 2 apps. Server didn't write anything down. Came back 2 minutes later to ask us what we ordered because he had forgotten already. Drinks came fairly quickly. Left at 8pm still not having our apps come out and our server coming by twice asking if we needed anything. Both times just told him we were just waiting on our food. Second time he AGAIN asked what we had ordered. Left cash to cover the drinks and walked out. Took 10 minutes to walk to the car and drive back by on the way to actually get diner. Our glasses were still on the bar outside where we left them. Who knows if they ever even noticed that we were nice enough to pay for the drinks. Someone walking by on the sidewalk could have easily taken it, but IDGF at this point.

Yelp
We had a great meal tonight at KNVS. The food was unique and delicious -- we had the pork rolled tacos with smoked salsa and the vegetarian tostadas. Both were excellent, and beautifully presented. We ended with profiteroles filled with strawberry shortcake gelato -- incredible! Loved the small plate portions, loved the service (Justine was great), loved the live music. Loved that the owner, Kevin, hand-delivered our cappuccino & mocha from Switchboard next door (excellent BTW!). Love the philanthropic mindset . They were between art installations, so can't wait to go back to experience the art/menu pairing concept. Hoping the chicken mole nachos will still be on the menu so we can try those, sound amazing. Fantastic experience!

Ed J.

Yelp
The lamb lollipops looked amazing, were cooked perfectly, and tasted more amazing than they looked! The original artwork is also incredible - loved the stormy rhino... Very attentive service as well. You'll love this place after a day at the beach.

Yelp
KNVS is a true neighborhood gem and such a unique place to feature local artists that inspire the food and drinks! Brady Willmott is the current artist and the art is truly mind blowing! The lamb lollipops, The Lurkers (bacon and cheese stuffed tater tots) and drinks Ignorance is Bliss and An Old Big Hippo are our favorites and definitely on repeat. Service is fantastic, they're very knowledgeable about the art too. They have live music occasionally. Next door to Switchboard, another favorite!

Yelp
Normally I like going to bars where I might catch a glimpse of a little black dress, but here I come for the little black book. It's sort of the opposite of the bartenders choice, it's a bit more like Russian roulette, but with your liver. Stephen Kitridge Cunningham has a bar book that I'd say half the bar professionals I've know the last 20+ years have and here you blindly pick a page and a receipt while they thumb the pages. You get to pick your own poison. Perhaps it's a little less curated and a little more industry than many guests would like, but it's inviting tradition to say the least. Oh yeah they have some dope art, and they are BOOKED out, think 2024 people in case you want to get your friend in here. I'd be more apt to buy the art if they threw in some free drinks though, just basic sales technique, rt. Buy a painting and we'll throw in a bottle of Champagne and some caviar. Do it like the old car dealerships use to do it. Wyatt, the man who brought you the bar program at Switchboard also helms this groups same endeavor, so you know it's gonna have a fire menu. I've only had about half the menu, don't forget their HH. Food is limited, but various, ceviche and duck make a surprisingly eclectic, but balance meal. The duck is served warm, not hot, it's not supposed to be hot, that generally means it's overcooked, duck can be finicky. I really only go it because I was craving Rouennaise sauce and though most places who serve duck don't do it, duck itself is enough to conjure my own memories. They are closed Wednesday and Thursday which is odd for even industry places, but it seems to draw enough interest from foot traffic and others. Prices are, along with the city on the up and up, but not overpriced. Staff is friendly and attentive. I'm a big fan of their glassware, but not their bar seats, just a little bit uncomfortable, should have 1 less seat at the bar. The decor and back bar are bright and inviting. A great place to change of pace that's surprisingly un-Oceanside. A nice addition to the half dozen new spots in DTO that isn't CLTVT.

Yelp
Been here a few times with groups so we made a reservation for Friday. Showed up early and explained that to a server, she told us to have a seat at a table set up for four with a reservation sign on it... I told her "no it's ok that's for four people we're just two" she explained to us that it was fine and they would just figure it out. I worked in the industry for decades and that immediately made me uncomfortable (I didn't want to mess up someone else's night by sitting in their spot), but we sat down anyways. We sit for about ten minutes and didn't have menus or water yet (super busy night), and that's when another server came and told us that the table was reserved for four people and that we needed to move (I freaking knew something was going to happen). I explained to him that the other server told us to sit there. He got pretty short about it and super condescending and told us "no, you're at 7 they're at 6:45 you need to wait outside." ..... Now, I know customer service is a dying art these days, but that is not how you handle a situation like that. It wasn't our fault that the other server didn't know (care?) what was going on, and instead of apologizing for the confusion and asking us to wait outside kindly, we get attitude for a mistake that wasn't even ours to begin with. We both grabbed our coats, walked out and went somewhere else. They didn't even flinch about it. Sad to say we wont be coming back here. There are way, way, way too many options in Oceanside nowadays to have to put up with that kind of incompetence and flat out rudeness.
google avatar

Danielle B.

Yelp
This place tries to be so cool.. Maybe that explains that everyone who works there is extremely rude. It would be a good place to grab a nice drink but not if you have to pay $18.00 dollars for one drink and horrible service experience. I did give one star because the bathroom was clean. This place is one and done for me.

Yelp
6 stars - tried this place with my wife and son based on word of mouth - it's absolutely amazing. Great people - the host/bartender was kind, welcoming and warm and walked us through the concept of the art/food mantra. The owner must have spent 20 minutes with us throughout the evening, he was awesome. Great Ambiance - the entire theme is art that correlates with artistic food. So many great things to see, taste and talk about. Great Food - it was my wife, my son (18) and myself, we all had different and fun dishes that we shared. Great drinks - the art mantra Carrie's through everything and the drinks were as amazing as the people, food and art. A great date or group spot, you will not lack for conversation topics - Bill M

Yelp
One word!!! Eve is absolutely AMAZING! Listen... one of the BEST old fashioned I've ever tasted! My husband ordered a Paloma and my friend ordered a Martini espresso and they both raved about it! Eve provided stellar customer service and we will be coming back when she is working! She is simply AMAZING!!!!

Yelp
Our experience: Complete Belittlement. KNVS made their error into our problem, complete with condescending treatment. Context: We set a reservation via the Open-Table App for four at 6pm, and showed up exactly on-time. We were excited since the accompanying exhibit was "The Astronomy" which we've spent time discussing the subject with our children, and now we'd have an opportunity to introduce a pairing cuisine with the subject matter. Upon showing up, another larger table was being seated as we patiently waited. The bartender greeted us from behind the bar, which turned out to be the last of the niceties. As we awkwardly stood in the middle of the establishment for some time, my wife approached who appeared to be the maître d' and stated our reservation and arrival. We were met with confusion, then unraveling of action. What ensued: 1. At this point the maître d' explained they "have no record of our reservation and it mustn't have been for this evening." It was, exactly as written. 2. Left standing with our children dumbfounded and in an awkward stare off, he rudely doubled down to pose "well then what's your reservation number?" I showed him on my phone the positive reservation and the OpenTable confirmation (and confirmation number). 3. Faced with these facts he continued "well we don't have it on file and you must've just made it" - which wasn't the case (it was made the day before) and was furthermore an invalid statement since even had I "just made it" clearly one would still have existed, for that day, at that time. Total red-herring argument. 4. The unprofessional interrogation continued with "are you sure it was for today," it was and I showed him (again) the reservation on my phone. 5. We then pointed to an open pair of tables and asked if we could be seated at them to which we were informed, "we have a reservation coming for those in an hour, you'd need to be done and gone by then." We explained our money was as good as theirs and we did not intend on feeling rushed out - especially since we had a reservation of our own. 6. We were then told "well you can go outside and eat at one of those tables" - it was a chilly evening and we had children who were not dressed to eat outside since that wasn't the plan nor part of the reservation. Additionally, the "exhibit" was inside which was essentially our reason for being there. 7. At this point it was abundantly clear they had no intention to adequately make us feel comfortable with such snippy responses, coupled with the futile and antagonistic attempt to make us feel incorrect; we had heard enough and felt alienated enough by the staff member. 8. We exasperatedly thanked them for their time which was met with a hollow "yeah, sorry" from the member as we turned to walk out the door. We're easy to please and love supporting local businesses. I was stunned there was zero effort to own their mistake nor attempt to build toward a concession. We would've happily taken an impromptu table set-up in the corner - it would've been a low maintenance solution. Note to KNVS: Your website directs reservations to OpenTable, you should likely pay attention when they're made, then anticipate the customer's arrival. Silver Lining: we walked across the street to Masters, now without a reservation, and in the tale of two establishments, they created room for us, happily welcomed our businesses, engaged with us frequently, esp our children, during the dinner...made paying for our $300 bill that much more satisfying going to an Oside staple rather than a pretentious pop-up.

Yelp
What a beautiful, special, unique place. I love this little bar and restaurant that showcases local artists and has food inspired by the art. L love the ratatouille, berry cured salmon, ceviche, and the duck. The cocktails were amazing too. I can't wait to come back and enjoy the food, drinks, and art!

Yelp
My friends Savannah and Orlando are regulars here and introduced me and my boyfriend to this place. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The ambiance is immaculate and Rico the bartender is an artist! All of his drinks were delicious!! We also had some food there, but I can't remember exactly what we ordered. I do remember the food being amazing. 10/10 recommend!

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time and it was great! Loved the ambiance inside, the art was amazing and the drinks were excellent. The food was great, especially the Korean wings. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
So cool! A unique restaurant that combines art and cuisine! Every three months a new artist is featured with work displayed on the walls, and for those three months, the food and cocktails are specifically designed and created to reflect the themes, the colors, and the style of the art represented on the walls of the establishment. I've been to KNVS several times since it opened and loved their first artist's work and how the chef and the artist combined art and cuisine for a fun, artistic, delicious experience. I look forward to the future rotating art shows and menu selections that reflect the featured artist! Dean LeCrone

Yelp
Extremely professional and contemporary looking bar. The wall art is absolutely fantastic for all of you space lovers. Speak easy vibe and just an absolute gem in Oside. Food and drink is the icing on the cake. The bar tenders are extremely professional and very knowledgeable.

Yelp
Came for the Korean street food and left after 2 hours when the waiter/bartender asked us if we needed anything else for the 3rd time. The owner greeted us and said if we sat outside rhe waiter would come by, ok fine it was pretty busy and all the inside tables were full. After maybe 45min we had to go in and flag the guy down at the bar to place a drink order, je said he'd be by later to take our food order. Fast forward another 45min and we get to order food. That's basically it. Waited 2 hours for two tiny drinks. Zero service will not come again. Easy enough to avoid this kind of review by literally just writing the order down and giving it to the kitchen/remembering to make the drinks.

Yelp
We read about KNVS, a themed, artsy bar, and restaurant, and chose it for a mother-daughter night out. The art was "Astronomy" and most intriguing. The cocktails and food were coordinated with the theme. The most enjoyable part of our evening was Rico's ultimate collection of "Astronomy" cocktails. I had the "Stardust", and my daughter had the "Space Race"! To describe my Stardust, I couldn't directly taste the coconut, the pineapple, the spicy rum, or the dry curacao, let alone the nutmeg, because after the ingredients were blended they became one of the best cocktails I have ever enjoyed. My daughter felt her Space Race was $15.00 well spent.

Yelp
5 stars for concept, service and drinks. But sadly the food was a bit disappointing - not only from selection but the Korean street too. I love the concept of supporting a local artist and changing the food and drink menu a few times a year, and the descriptions were creative to say the least. Our server was friendly, attentive and described menu items well. We ordered the Lurker (tater tots), Korean fried chicken wings and the pork belly. Disappointed there was no chicken dish or a vegetable option (don't confuse this with vegetarian, because they has a mushroom entree for that) - by vegetable I mean a salad or side of veggies or something green. The biggest disappointment was a tie for the wings (thin coating, not all that fried and barely any sauce - you can see one of the naked wings in the picture. Only one side is lightly rubbed in sauce, we asked for more and they did accommodate) and the porky belly. The pork belly itself was amazing, crispy and tasty but disappointed it wasn't sticky rice and the presentation was poor because the pork belly fell off. The rice is heavily seasoned with seaweed flakes (my husband liked that, I did not, so thought it would be worth noting since it isn't described on the menu).

Yelp
Great concept but pricey food and drinks. Hopefully they work the menu out. The app we ordered was very disappointing and the drinks are expensive.

Yelp
Great meeting place to come with friends. It's a creative space to host socials, meetings, have drinks, talk...friendly staff. Catered for comfort and casual intellects. Unassuming space you can definitely feel at home...and plenty of street parking!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places around the area. Great service and great drinks. Kyle the bar tender made some really good drinks. Got an old fashioned. Best one I've ever had. Tried the purple potato chips with buzz buds they were very good. Go stop by.

Yelp
If you want to be surrounded by gorgeous artwork near the beach, KNVS may be just for you. The newly opened restaurant/bar has an open, welcoming vibe. The bartenders are friendly and mix artisanal cocktails paired with some delicious choices from the menu. We chose the charcuterie board for our early afternoon repast and it was delicious! Make sure to walk around to view Maggie Chiarro's stunning artwork which is available to purchase or just to appreciate. With the combination of gorgeous artwork and delicious food and drinks to match, this is a unique experience that is not to be missed.

Yelp
This is an amazing new and unique spot! They theme the food and beverage around the current art exhibit. I have tried everything on the menu and, while everything is delicious, the ratatouille bouquet, shrimp ceviche, berry cured salmon, and white chocolate lemon curd are my favorites. The cocktails are inventive and fun. The presentation of the food and drink is visually beautiful and is well thought out to go with the artwork. If you get a chance, ask the bartender or chefs about their inspiration. The current artwork is presented by Margaret Alexis Chiaro, with her series The Floral Guild...beautiful and thought provoking. Spend some time looking at art while eating and drinking art!

Yelp
What a creative bar to make their dishes and drinks an art along with beautiful paintings on their walls. Its like going to an art show with incredible drinks and dishes. No other place like it.
