We had high expectations for Koch und Kellner, given its Michelin star, but unfortunately, the experience was a major disappointment. The 9-course menu took over 4 hours to complete — by the time the last dish arrived, we had digested the earlier ones twice over and couldn’t even enjoy it anymore.
The dishes themselves were underwhelming for a Michelin-starred restaurant. I’ve been to several in Spain that not only cost half as much but also delivered a far superior culinary experience. The wine pairing was limited and felt overpriced, adding little value to the meal.
The ambiance and facilities were also far below the standard one would expect from a Michelin-starred establishment — dated and unimpressive. Honestly, I’ve dined at many non-starred restaurants that offer much better food, service, and atmosphere at a fraction of the cost.
Overall, this was the most disappointing Michelin-star restaurant I’ve ever visited. Poor value, slow service, uninspiring dishes, and an atmosphere that doesn’t match the price tag. A big letdown in every aspect.
