Koch und Kellner

We had high expectations for Koch und Kellner, given its Michelin star, but unfortunately, the experience was a major disappointment. The 9-course menu took over 4 hours to complete — by the time the last dish arrived, we had digested the earlier ones twice over and couldn’t even enjoy it anymore. The dishes themselves were underwhelming for a Michelin-starred restaurant. I’ve been to several in Spain that not only cost half as much but also delivered a far superior culinary experience. The wine pairing was limited and felt overpriced, adding little value to the meal. The ambiance and facilities were also far below the standard one would expect from a Michelin-starred establishment — dated and unimpressive. Honestly, I’ve dined at many non-starred restaurants that offer much better food, service, and atmosphere at a fraction of the cost. Overall, this was the most disappointing Michelin-star restaurant I’ve ever visited. Poor value, slow service, uninspiring dishes, and an atmosphere that doesn’t match the price tag. A big letdown in every aspect.

Outstanding restaurant. I walked over on a gloomy, wet evening past rubbish, graffiti and douche bags on electric scooters ignoring pedestrians. Entering the restaurant was a joy! An oasis of good taste, civilisation and the search for excellence. Unpretentious, brilliant, creative food - stimulating for the palate and the brain. An excellent wine list and great advice from the “boss”; a charming, enthusiastic and professional host. Really a great pleasure and a wonderful restaurant.

We had a beautiful 7 course meal here. Exceptional food - a really wide variety of tastes, textures, cultures, and ingredients. Every dish was an explosion of flavor and the waiter even brought my husband the bone from our veal cutlet to get every last bit of flavor! Speaking of service, it is also exceptional. Attentive, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable - even having to translate the complicated ingredients to English for us! Would absolutely eat here again.

I visited Nuremberg at the beginning of December 2023 and I tried to find a good restaurant for dinner. I asked to make a reservation for four persons to this restaurant for the same evening and I was "blocked and cheated" as they pushed me to accept a guarantee payment (without they to mention any amount) but no confirmation received from the restaurant, eventhough i have given them my phone and my email. A clear rapture of 400 euro, without any reason. A very bad experience from a restaurant , supposed to be a high quality and reputation one.No reply from them for all the above.

The flavor of the dish was quite good. There weren't too many famous ingredients, but there were a lot of composite flavors that were concocted. These are flavors I've never had before and it was impressive.

What an amazing place with an a.azing creative cuisine. I will be back!!

Small portions of really good food. Very special place and believe me... You can trust on their selection of wine, they know what they are doing. Just say: chose to me.

The food was good, but the service was disappointing. The 'Kellner' was unfriendly and we didn't feel confortable being there. I don't understand what Michelin sees in this restaurant.

This is a very interesting restaurant with very little ambiance, but the food & wine make up for it. Mr. Kellner is a joy discussing his experiences & how the restaurant has evolved. He is very helpful with good wine selections that are not expensive. Any and all food & prep - outstanding.
