Google
First time trying this place after seeing several positive reviews on social media, and I had to check it out. The location is on a busy corner, and it’s strictly takeout with space for about 5-6 people to stand comfortably. In my opinion, adding 2-4 tables outside could boost their revenue by giving people a place to sit and eat. I ordered a 10-piece Honey Lemon Pepper wings, a side of fries, and two drinks, which totaled $30—a bit pricey for one person. However, the wings were fantastic! They had a great crunch, tasted fresh, and the flavor combination was on point. The fries were just okay; they could’ve used a little more seasoning, and probably would’ve been better if I could have eaten them hot. The only downside was the size of the wings—they were larger than I prefer, and I wasn’t given the option to request all flats. 9/10 for the wings. Overall, I’d rate this place an 8/10. The guy taking my order seemed to be working solo, so customer service was a bit lacking, but it wasn’t terrible. Thank you, KoChix Chicken, for the great wings—I highly recommend and will definitely be back!

I discovered this spot on TikTok before my trip to DC and knew I had to check it out—and it did not disappoint. The restaurant was easy to find, clean, and offered quick, decent service. The food was fresh and hot, and I tried the honey lemon pepper wings with fries, which were crispy and absolutely delicious. I’m already looking forward to returning to try other flavors. I’d definitely recommend this place and hope to visit again soon!

Google
I just had the best chicken wings in Washington DC. While driving through the city, I noticed this small Korean restaurant on 400 Florida Ave NW. People were coming in and out. I continued driving because I had to meet with one of my friends a bit further from this restaurant. Then I goggled the restaurant’s name and found great reviews. Gave it a try…and have no regrets. I placed my order through their website. It was easy and simple. My order included a combo of spicy honey garlic wings, and drumsticks. Also, I ordered onion rings. They were cooked to perfection - all tasty, crispy and flavorful. I’m glad I found a new spot for my chicken wings in DC. One hundred percent recommended. Don’t forget to tip the hard working people at this restaurant!

Google
Best wings I’ve ever had, are you kidding? I couldn’t believe how good these are, shoutout to Tik Tok! Lol. Got the Honey Lemon Pepper & Soy Garlic. Perfectly crisp, tons of flavor, highly, HIGHLY recommend. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Google
Best korean wings ive had in a long time. Try the soy garlic and honey lemon pepper so fire. Lots of meat too thats all i had and i cant say nun else

Google
The food is amazing. The wait kinda sucked but it was worth it. The wings were crispy and flavorful. Must get. The cheese corn nuggets were delicious. If you're a lover of kon-chijeu, it's a must get. The mandu were okay, I'd probably skip those next time and try something else.

Google
After an extensive search to find the best fried chicken this location continually pops up. I tried to visit one time prior but they were unexpectedly closed. Ordered two orders of wings with fries and a steak and cheese. Let me clear they hype these chicken wings are no wear near as tasty, crispy as Bon Chon. Really reminded me of frozen wings and fries vibes as there was nothing about the taste that said best of anything. I thought the food was relatively bland and tasteless. As always go see for yourself but was not a fan!

Google
Tried this place HOMECOMING WEEKEND! You can't resist a nice crunch on chicken wangs!! But overall loved the taste on the honey lemon pepper. Crunch was on point even after waiting to eat 30 mins later. I prefer no sight of any pink, but it was not bloody..THANK GOD! Small place with just room for a few. No dining. Takeout only.

Yelp
Utterly surprised I don't already have a review for one of my fav spots in DC! Kochix is a locally-owned Korean fried chicken spot. This should become one of your regular spots for ordering out. Their drumsticks and wings are ginormous and delicious. My go-to orders are the 10 wings, half hot honey spicy and half honey lemon pepper. They're always nice and crisp and easily heated up for a future meal in my air fryer. I don't love their fries, but their onion rings are tasty. Even better are their corn nuggets! They're corn fritters with whole corn inside, a corn lovers dream lol This is a crowd pleaser as I've served them to friends and coworkers. Alas, there isn't really space to eat here aside from a short counter against a wall. It's located near the corner of Rhode Island and Florida, so not the most scenic corner of the city, but very much worth the trip or delivery order!
google avatar

Thuy L.

Yelp
LOVE Kochix! I crave these wings often. Ordered on DoorDash but have also been to pick up an order on my own after that. The wings are a great size, as a ton of wing places are skimping and giving you the tiniest scrawny little wings. They're so crunchy and the sauces are good, definitely recommend the honey lemon pepper and soy garlic. They're not your typical wing joint chicken wings as they're more Korean style. Love the wings and will be ordering again in the future! If you want to grab them, be warned not a lot of parking in Shaw and no indoor seating or anything, just a counter. Great quality though!

Yelp
I really don't understand the hype. I walked in your typical hole in the wall and was immediately greeted. Instagram and the world HYPED these wings. I ordered 10 fried high ended up being $20. Shocked the heck outta me. The "ADMIN" fee really bothered me. I can only imagine if I had a larger order. The wings were much larger than one would expect, came out piping hot but overall AVERAGE. Lacked seasoning. Simple carry out wings. I opted out of the sauce and I could do without honey and soy sauce on chicken. Decent spot but to expensive for carry out wings to me.
google avatar

Yelp
Hands down the best Korean fried chicken I've had in the area. Crispy double fried juicy chicken and the sauces are delicious.
google avatar

Chris K.

Yelp
This isn't an eat in, but the service was good and to the point. Again, another restaurant that I've passed repeatedly and hadn't tried. I'm going to assume the owner was who took my order and he was very friendly, loved his energy! The food was great! Be prepared, you will smell like a fryer if you sit in and wait for your order lol; it's a small space. We got honey spicy and soy garlic wings.... SO GOOD. Got fries too... they were fries. I'll be back!
google avatar

Morgan S.

Yelp
I've never tried Korean chicken and unfortunately, there's very few Korean restaurants where I flew from (Florida) so after picking coffee for a relative and while it was almost 8pm, I decided to visit and try some of their Korean chicken wings. I love me some chicken wings, but THESE wings? The best chicken wings I've ever tasted in my life! I myself am trying to eat more Korean dishes but wow, their chicken wings are immaculate. I kinda wish I took a photo of the wings but I was starving when I got my hotel lol. Thank you, Kochix! I'll be back next time I visit D.C.
google avatar

Yelp
This shit slaps. As long as you're not an idiot and order your wings with sauce, you cannot be disappointed. Crunchy and sticky-- this is the best korean fries chicken you can get in DC. Garlic soy sauce is the best imo. Service was fast!
google avatar

Kojo B.

Yelp
Yeah this was not good, yeah the chicken is huge but the flavors were not good. i ordered the spicy and sweet spicy, couldnt tell the difference, heavily sauced up. I did place my order to go and the was a line out of the door. I threw most of it away.
google avatar

The Angry Foodie ..

Yelp
Great wings! I absolutely love their honey lemon pepper wings. As someone from Georgia, you know we put lemon pepper on everything! I highly recommend trying their lemon pepper wings--they're a must-have!
google avatar

Chris D.

Yelp
It was good and surprisingly quick. The meat portions for the wings were meaty. The flavors offered are more sweet than savory, but I think that's more so on me. I ended up getting lemon pepper and soy garlic. The soy garlic was too saucy and more of a glaze. I guess I could have had plain. Would go back
google avatar

Don B.

Yelp
Some of the most hype chicken wings in the city. Kochix definitely lived up to the hype in my opinion. I ordered the honey lemon pepper flavor. The wings were made to order, so they came out nice and hot. They're Korean style fried chicken, so the corn starch batter makes them EXTRA crispy. The lemon pepper seasoning wasn't too heavy (I hate when they overdo the seasoning, leaving the wings way too salty) and the honey added a nice sweet balance to the flavor profile. I ordered 15 wings and it took about 10 minutes for my order to come out. There's only take out available, so if you don't live in the neighborhood, you might want to eat your wings in the car to get the fresh experience (or at least try 1 wing right away like I did.. lol) overall I give these wings a 9/10 and I can't wait to go back and try all the other flavors.
google avatar

Monica S.

Yelp
Such an amazing hole in the wall korean fried chicken restaurant!!! It is a total must try for korean fried chicken lovers. I tried the soy garlic, hot spicy honey, and honey lemon pepper. My favorite was the hot spicy honey flavor, but all three were delicious. I will definitely be back. Fyi, there is no seating. It is an order and go place, so you will need to find somewhere to eat your delicious chicken
google avatar

Yelp
When I say these wings are good, they are beyond good. The sauce was perfect - not too salty, sweet, or greasy. And once they take your order, it's no more than 10 min to get your food. When I went, it was around noon and the inside of the small shop was packed. Folks were visibly upset due to the wait, but I didn't mind. It was just a single, older man working the front and getting orders out. With the chicken being so good and the spot getting a little popular, it's bound to be a wait, so give him a little grace. Also, the chicken is still good cold. It didn't get soggy and maintained its crunch. I have zero complaints and I'm already trying to figure out the next time I drive into DC. Recommend 10/10
google avatar

Nia P.

Yelp
So the service could be better but to be honest they were swamped. I saw this little spot on tik tok and when I tell you the line was out the door! Now Tik tok definitely did not disappoint because the chicken was super good. I'd definitely recommend the lemon pepper with a side of rice. The fries and not good at all. And sauce like blue cheese and ranch cost xtra so bring cash.
google avatar

Tracy A.

Yelp
Hits 10/10 EVERYTIME! My personal number one spot for wings and I love getting white rice on the side
google avatar

Sarthak S.

Yelp
I have been wanting to visit this place after I saw a Youtube short endorsing the place and having driven by the place a few times. The food however was quite underwhelming and didn't live up to the hype. The coating on the chicken, while crispy, was too thick and not flaky. The hot honey spicy and soy garlic sauces were barely distinctive with the former being barely hot and the sauces being too sweet. The honey lemon pepper sauce was overtly salty and lacked enough sweetness. In addition, this hole in the wall joint has no seating, which is fine if the food was any good. I wouldn't recommend this place.
google avatar

Jack H.

Yelp
I got the boneless wings, which were excellent. It was rather busy when I went, so it wasn't an option to wait inside for food - maybe a better pickup/order system would help out. I'll certainly be back!
google avatar

Felicia W.

Yelp
Underrated Korean fried chicken! Hits every time. Order some giant drumsticks and drink a beer while you watch a K drama and you have the perfect evening.
google avatar

Julie W.

Yelp
No dining area, but excellent Korean Fried Chicken! Neighborhood is a bit sketchy, but since you do t stay long, that's not a problem.
google avatar

Donyiel C.

Yelp
I don't know what happened but I recently stopped by as I hadn't in awhile and the chicken just didn't taste the same. It lacked flavor. I called it in ahead of time and it was ready when I arrived. I did my usual, half and half. I was definitely disappointed. Oh well!

Yelp
Once again...I pass by this spot all the time. Today it was time for me to STOP!! I saw quite a few folks walking out with heavy bags in their hands. My younglings like crunchy Korean wings...why not!! . Where I am: @kochixdc . Location Reviewed: 400 Florida Ave., N.W. Washington D.C. . Menu Includes: (Sauces-Soy Garlic, Honey Mild, Honey Hot, Honey Lemon Pepper, Honey Old Bay) Wings, Drumsticks, Cheesesteak, Chicken Cheesesteak, Bulgogi Bowl, Burgers, Fish Sandwich, Dumplings, Onion Rings, Fries, & Bottled Beverages. . Items Reviewed: Their Honey Lemon Pepper Wings (6 wings $8.59). STAMP!! Crunchy, fried hard, sauced perfectly!! Their 12 wing/6 drum combo (soy garlic wings/honey hot drums $36.99). The Soy Garlic Wings...DELICIOUS!! Crunchy, plentiful, hard fried, I just needed a more pungent sauce. The Honey Hot Drums...LIKE THAT!! Again crunchy, full drumsticks, tasty, but not hot at all. Their Fries ($3.50). PASS. Lackluster, & the got cold quickly. . Customer Service: DECENT. The greeted me, they asked how they could help me. It just felt...cold. . Online Navigation: Easy. . Parking: Rough'ish, depending on the time you're there. . Recommendations: Get the Lemon Pepper Wings & napkins!! =STAMP =LIKE THAT =DELICIOUS =DECENT =PASS =NAH #Bigschlimsreviews

Yelp
One of the best wings place in town! The portion size is HUGEEE!! Great service; Recommend 100%
google avatar

RENEE H.

Yelp
Owner at the register was 2 welcoming. Parking was difficult. It was a hole in the wall and sometimes they have the best food. The wings were just okay, nothing to write home about. I was glad we were hungry and hadn't eaten all day so it didn't go to waste.
google avatar

Thomas G.

Yelp
Huge, crispy wings! The price per wing seems pretty expensive, but considering the size I'd say it worth it. I had the Hot Honey wings. I enjoyed the flavor but didn't find them to be spicy at all. The service was quick (it took about 5 minutes for my order of 5 wings) and they were piping hot.
google avatar

Ashley B.

Yelp
Ordered via UberEats and received pretty quick! Although it states that the meal includes drumsticks, I for some reason thought it was a drumette, but no, it is an actual drumstick lol.

beverly m.

Yelp
Another TikTok disappointment!!!! Don't do it- the I tried all four flavors and they are all in the GARBAGE- 40.00 down the damn drain- WINGS ARE HORRIBLE- maybe I'm missing it- but IT IS DEFINITELY A NO FOR ME-

Jonathan B.

Yelp
If you can, get it for takeout. Delivery may mess with timing/food quality and for these wings you're going to want them fresh! Large, meaty, and flavorful wings/drums for a fair price given how tasty they are. I've only had the chicken that everyone raves about and stand by that these are the best wings you can get in DC. We got the hot honey and lemon pepper and couldn't pick a favorite. The crunch was audible, and the experience overall was memorable. Will definitely be returning! Don't expect to eat inside, there is standing room for about 8 people. They are working incredibly hard here and the work shows; this is some of the best food the DMV has to offer tucked away in Shaw!
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
Gem!! Went up on their prices so I haven't been as often as I was going, but always good. Big wings, but are always cooked throughly and crispy! Friendly staff and the spot is small so don't expect to eat in.

Julie M.

Yelp
This is regarding service. I placed a pre order on DoorDash at 8:44am this morning for a 12:50pm-1:00pm delivery. I received a confirmation email that the order was scheduled. I've been patiently waiting for this order and at around 1:25pm pm my dasher informed me that the restaurant is too busy and they decided to no longer take orders. My dasher was there waiting for 15 mins. They didn't even want to talk to him. If they can't complete pre-orders made online then they should just take themselves off doordash.

Yelp
I've definitely walked by this place before without giving it much thought. The other day a friend told me that this was one of the best Korean Fried Chicken places that was even better than the well known chain, BonChon. I absolutely love BonChon, so I had to give it a shot. Like I said before, it's easy to walk past...It's a hole in the wall spot for sure and it's take out only. Upon walking in, you see the menu, as well as award winning reviews in papers. Prices are slightly less than BonChon, but let me tell you it really is one of the best Korean Fried Chicken places I've ever had. Though my home is 20 minutes away in VA, it was still hot and crispy upon eating. There is so much depth in flavor in one bite and you just want to keep coming back for more. Be prepared for sticky fingers and sticky cheeks, but it's so worth to just dive right into it. I got the combo 12 wings 6 drums, half soy garlic, half honey spicy (Koreans don't joke around with spice...). No extra side sauce needed, the entire chicken is coated well with sauce. I will say next time I eat it, a side of white rice would be the perfect pair as well as a cold beer. I am absolutely excited to go back - I will challenge myself with the Hot Spicy sauce, as long as if there is ice cream waiting in my freezer for me!

Felipe L.

Yelp
One of the best Korean wings I've ever had, seasoned perfectly, and cooked just as well, and if you are not in the mood for wings they have other great items there as well, I have tried getting something new every time I go and have not been disappointed, and to top it all off the customer service there is the best, They treat you like you've been going there for ages, if they had dessert and a signature drink this would be five star, but I appreciate them sticking to what they know best.
google avatar

Scotty M.

Yelp
Wings and chicken are incredibly crispy , flavorful, and juicy. I appreciate them opening up on Sundays!

Yelp
Today was one of those days....undecided about what and where to eat. I'm a little upset that I didn't stop by this establishment sooner. It's a real hole in the wall in appearance but these wings are torch!! I was highly impressed. I ordered (5) of the honey Buffalo and (5) of the soy garlic wings. I also had two blue cheese dressings but they were absolutely unnecessary. These wings need absolutely nothing but wet wipes to clean your hands and face. I gave this place (4) stars because I like for my chicken to be "well done" and they failed to cook the wings to my specifications. I was also glad that parking was not too bad on that side street. This makes me more likely to come back again (yes, DC parking at some of these spots is the worst). (8) of the ten wings did me just fine. $16 for (10) wings is not as bad as some other places that I've visited in the area. Ledo's charges $20 for (10) wings. Mandu and BKK should be ashamed of themselves for selling (8) wings for about $24-25. This place is definitely another option and better priced. I do have a spot in Georgetown DC that has the most vast selection of wings, Wingo's. You can get a (10) piece for about $13-14 bucks. Kochix isn't the prettiest, nor did it look the cleanest but I'll say my grace and be back again soon.
google avatar

Letese' C.

Yelp
These are some of the best wings in the city. Seriously some of the best Korean fried chicken I've ever had. The chicken was tender with just the right amount crisp and sauce. I ordered delivery via DoorDash the 3 wings 2 drumsticks combo with the hot honey spicy sauce. UberEats gives you an option to add two sauces and they're prices are a little less but I have a DashPass. The food arrived hot. I also ordered French fries and those were pretty good. They have pretty nice size menu and options are great if you're ordering for yourself or a group. They have more sauce options than some of their competitors which I like. I'm looking forward to visiting this place more often and trying out the different sauces and the dumplings everyone raves about.
google avatar

Christelle S.

Yelp
Wanted BonChon one night but didn't feel like waiting so long for delivery so I gave this place a try. Flavor was good and the wings were super crispy! I would order from them again!
google avatar

Vanessa L.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to go to since moving to DC and love supporting small businesses!! My friends live nearby so we would stop by here at least once a week to get our korean friend chicken fix. We would usually order the 7W 4D combo in soy garlic to feed about 4 of us! With it would be a side of rice and occasionally we would get the dumplings. The dumplings have a slight sweet glaze to it that makes it enjoyable. The wings got that crunch on the outside and juciness on the inside that is a MUST for fried chicken. I've been here multiple times already and definitely plan to continue visiting.
google avatar

Gary M.

Yelp
Tasty, meaty wings. Excellent bulgogi platter. Friendly service. Check the website. There are several more options for wing sauces than the Yelp app menu listed!
google avatar

Audra H.

Yelp
We ate here the other weekend with super high expectations for the Korean Fried Chicken. This place gets great stars and the reviews are pretty good so we thought we couldn't go wrong. Sadly we were left kind of disappointed. I love the flavor options for the wings, so that is a plus. But they came extremely soggy and not crispy fried like we are used to getting. Half the chicken pieces were fried and some seemed like they needed to be fried a little longer. The sauces were good but nothing completely outstanding. Like I said , maybe our expectations were too high but needless to say, we won't be trying this spot for a second time.

Jason R.

Yelp
I tried this place while visiting DC and now that I'm back home I have to deal with bonchon. Both have great fried chicken that is just so crunchy but to be honest I preferred KoChix!! I rather support small businesses over a chain and the chicken from KoChix just tasted like it was cooked with love! Definitely will double back next time I'm in town

Tiffany B.

Yelp
Best wings!!!! And the most polite and amazing service!!! Nice little corner spot 1000% recommend if you're in the area.
google avatar

Evelyn C.

Yelp
If you're looking for a joint with the thin crispy fried batter layered over the chicken, this isn't for you. This is the OG style of Korean fried chicken from the early/mid 90's. The thicker fried batter wraps around the chicken and dripped with sticky and sweet sauce. Do NOT expect the same kind of Korean fried chicken that you think you know if you've only had BonChon or KyoChon! Because that's a more "new-age" version of KFC. If you remember and long for the nostalgia of old school KFC, look no further than KoChix. Personally, it brings me back to the early 90's when I would get KFC take out from the mom and pop shops of Seoul with my grandma and enjoy the savory treat with Korean cider together... Sweet memories. Tip: If you do take away and find it a bit soggy when you get home, pop into the air fryer for a minute and you'll find it pleasantly crispy and delicious!
google avatar

Yatta B.

Yelp
This chicken is WAY BETTER than Bonchon and no where near as much in price. Only thing they need is more side options but other than that the chicken alone is great.
google avatar

Miesha D.

Yelp
Today I ordered two orders of medium wings half Spicy honey half hot honey the wings are goodt crispy and sweet but big I don't really like big wings but they were fulfilling saucy and good kinda expensive I paid 37.38 for two med wingettes which is 10 plus 10
google avatar

Yelp
Hands down my favorite Korean restaurant in Bloomingdale which was recently voted as the historic neighborhood in DC. This is a small place and has no dine in space so it's something to consider when planning a visit to this restaurant. Limited menu compared to other fancy Korean restaurants which makes it special because everything in their small menu tastes absolutely delicious. I love their Bulgogi and Bibimbap. But their chicken wings are amazing. They hot, honey hot and buffalo flavors. Don't remember the rest. We always order their wings for watch parties like super bowl, oscars, and other gatherings. Everyone loves it. It's so unique because it's not only deep fried but also has an extra crunch and kick to it. I wish I could describe the actual taste but you know what , you should try it yourself to see how delicious they taste. It's very affordable. The wings are huge unlike small wings from dominos or papa johns. Definitely recommend this place.
google avatar

Isabel R.

Yelp
best chicken wings I've had in DC over the past six years of living here. Hole in wall we've never bothered stopping at but so glad we did. Ordered the soy garlic and hot honey spicy.

Alexis N.

Yelp
Yes! Great wings, quick service. My favorite flavor is the honey soy but you can't go wrong w any flavor. If you haven't tried it yet, check it out and tell a friend!
google avatar

Matt B.

Yelp
Wings are bomb. So this place is consistently on top wing lists in dc, and it hit the spot. Very crispy/juicy wings that come with a lot of flavors to try. Old bay and soy garlic were ok, but the hot honey and mild honey were bomb, a must try in dc if you like Korean style wings. Second to choong man still as choongs has a little less breading and a little more juice, but if you are near u st, a must get
google avatar

Cham K.

Yelp
Heard about this place for years. Tried to stop by once and couldn't find parking. Never tried again. I went to Bon Chon for years. Upgraded to Chi Mc because I heard it was better. Then recently I discovered Choong Man Chicken which now became my favorite Korean Fried Chicken spot (their tikkudak style is on point). I've been raving about CMC when eventually I ran across people saying Kochix is the best. Now it was CMC vs Kochix, I became adamant on seeing how good Kochix actually was. My girlfriend and I head there and of course, there's no parking. I wasn't going to have that stop me again so I emergency park on the side (try at your own risk) and I got my hands on their soy garlic KFC. Kochix sauce was thicker and stickier than your average KFC, but that added to the flavor which I fell in love with. Each wing was incredibly crispy and perfect. I was extremely impressed. So who is the best now? Well CMC has more of a variety which I like, but Kochix has now become one of my favorites so it's a tie. I definitely need to try Kochix a couple more times to see who's really the best!

Yelp
Guys this place doesn't look like much on the outside but let me tell you they no how to cook some chicken. They go a combination of wings or drums or you can get just drums if that's your speed (mee!) This has been on my list for the longest and boy I wasn't disappointed. This place is better than Bonchon if anyone was ever wondering or even considering it I've never had it but people who've had both tell me it's not close. The chicken was seasoned pretty well, crunchy and juicy I only wish that their Hot Honey spicy was actually well.. spicy. The wings are pretty huge so no false claims of jumbo wings only to be met by baby chicklets using bones as crutches these are big wings. My only gripe is that they don't combo their wings and fries they make you pay separately and it's an additional $3. I mean seriously what wing spot doesn't include fries in a combo. Other than that it would have been 5 star 5 star!
