First visit was quite pleasant 👍🏾. Ordered a few dishes including the fried squid (RM40++) The second visit, however, the fried squid portion looked less - but perhaps because it was also undercooked 👎🏾 (definitely had less lettuce as garnish). The last piece of squid eaten was undercooked enough to cause discomfort for a couple of hours (but nothing left of the dish to show for it). Mentioned to restaurant lady, but she could not accept due to "lack of evidence", even with unwell patron in front of her .. (the dish was shared with others who also later informed upon questioning that it tasted slightly undercooked, but none had thought to mention anything before the last piece was eaten too .. ) Could be a once-off incident.

Saw the intro in tik tok and paid a visit since it’s just opposite baba hotel. Very local and authentic family restaurant. Cost rm300 for 5 pax, not sure if it’s cheap or ex. It’s a halal peranakan place. Rendang chicken, chap chai, Ngioh hiong is good.prawn omelette subjective as my pov is so so but my partner thinks is good. Assam fish, otah and sambal sotong so so. Dishes can be more flavourful. Ambience seems like a family restaurant and like the cozy decoration. Place also looks clean and hygiene.

Sambal petai prawn was very good, in depth flavor. Itek Tim and Ayam rendang was ok. Asam fish was not fresh. Environment and service is good.

Not bad. Can make reservation via WhatsApp. They have a round table to fit 8 of us. Air con environment. Dishes not salty. The Chendol was very good.

A Nonya Restaurant serving really authentic peranakan cuisine not the commercialised Nonya food for tourists. The food reminds you of home cooked food. Portions are fairly generous. Our favourite dishes were Lemak Nenas Udang, Ayam Rendang, Steamed Ladies Fingers & their Cendol Prices are value for money considering the quality, taste & portions The restaurants has nice antiques which lends to a meal in a peranakan home

Pineapple Curry with Prawns ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It came in a bright yellow curry filled with pineapple cuts and prawns. The curry taste was mild but there was a distinct pineapple taste to it at the right degree. It's neither acidic nor sweet so I like to assume that no canned pineapple were used. That's good. The prawns are still fresh, deveined and easily shelled, making it a more pleasant experience without using your fingers. Kangkung Belacan ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quite oily as expected but it was oh so good! It was so savoury and fragrant with the Belacan. The kangkung was soft but not mushy. Fried Chicken ⭐⭐⭐ This was average as the chicken was the frozen chicken type that you could taste it once you sank your teeth deep into the meat. It would have been much better with better chicken meat. Chendol ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Now for this I gotta say it's good. It was rich in santan taste, rich in Gula Melaka taste and the red bean was not the overly sweetened type of red beans. So what you get with every spoonful is a good balance in taste. What's even better was that the same taste was not diluted even after the shaved ice have all melted.

Is there a change in Chef? Yesterday, we had our dinner but all tastes were off the chart. Sad The chincalok omelette came with any of its taste but they replace it with another that was way too salty. The service is good though.

Came for late lunch and restaurant is still relatively crowded but still managed to get a table. Pie Tie is a must order. Sambal Kang Kong is also very tasty. Overall a pleasant meal in a traditional old shop house. Authentic. Highly recommended
