⭐☆☆☆☆ – Extremely Disappointing Experience at Kocinao (Philadelphia) I honestly don’t understand how Kocinao in Philadelphia has a rating over 4 stars because this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in the city. We were told our food would take about 15–20 minutes. It took over an hour to be served. Even our drinks — two acerola juices and one Sprite — took more than 30 minutes to arrive after placing our order. There was only one family ahead of us in the restaurant. We ordered: Two steaks with onions and yellow rice (menu listed at $18 each) One mofongo with churrasco (menu listed at $24) First, the churrasco was extremely disappointing. Churrasco should be tender and flavorful. Instead, it was very chewy, hard to cut, and had a strong, gamey taste. The mofongo was dry and hard. The yellow rice looked like it was a day old and tasted reheated. The two steaks were just as tough and chewy as the churrasco. To top it off, our total came to $103. When we questioned the bill, the waitress told us she had to “modify” the price because the menu was old. Why wouldn’t that be clearly advertised beforehand? That’s unacceptable and misleading. Long wait times, poor food quality, questionable pricing, and no transparency. Definitely would not recommend.

Perfection. If you live in the area you especially need to go dine in! We left satisfied with the portions, the atmosphere, and the taste of the food and drinks. Tip: Live guitar singer on Sundays! They speak English don't be hesitant if your not familiar with the culture the menu has translations. Whar a great vibe for Mayfair!!!!

Very nice and friendly place, I just had a coffee but the smell of the food made me regret not having time to eat here! The staff is very nice and sweet!

Don't go here! I so regret it. Restaurant is near my house,. So I took my life to support a local business. They had one waitress. Fruit drink was nasty. Had to return that. Seafood menu! But ran out of fish!! Two of my family members got sick later on.

The service was good and they were friendly. The decor is modern and pretty . They forgot to put my beans in the bag and ran across the street to give it to me. I ordered the lunch special which was 4 meatballs, salad, and rice with beans on the side for $12. The food was tasty but it was kind of pricey and my container of beans had like 5 beans in it.

The worst food and more expensive I ever had The steak was like rubber tires. Now I need a doctor to fix my jaw. Never again

Visited for lunch today! Quaint atmosphere, clean, wonderful customer service, and the food oh my! Absolutely delicious!

This place is so clean and the set up is very stylish. I ordered oatmeal and a cappuccino & they were both perfect. The customer service is great & I would recommend stopping in to try something.

Went here for an early lunch, so it wasn't super busy, but that's exactly how I like it. As someone who has been to the Dominican Republic, this is definitely an authentic spot. Not one of these fast food taco spots. This is a great place to take your wife out for a romantic dinner. A great little spot that I'll be adding to my regular haunts for sure!

Good food, decent service, and plenty of room to sit. Food was prepared as advertised.
