KöD - Review - London - The Infatuation

"KöD is a Danish steakhouse serving meaty mains and sides like truffle mac and cheese from a dimly lit room decked out in corrugated steel and orange neon. This Soho spot will be their second restaurant, with the original in the City. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Couldn’t believe the amount of food I got from the 3 course signature menu. It was a really generous portion and everything was very tasty. I started with the smoked salmon which had some really complementary flavours coming from the herbs and avocado. The steak was cooked as requested and the chips were flavoured with thyme which was a nice touch. The bearnaise was really good and the Caesar salad which came as a side was excellent. Crème brûlée and raspberry sorbet were both brilliant. The atmosphere was a bit lacking but the service I thought was mostly really good. A shoutout to Rachel who was attentive. My only gripe was not being able to take anything home for leftovers for health and safety reasons. Very odd given nearly everywhere else does this. Felt like needless food waste. Would recommend!

Would definitely recommend & we will be back. We had the Xmas feast, great presentation & very tasty. Steak was a little tough but overall we enjoyed our meal very much. We arrived for 5.30 on a Wednesday so wasn’t very busy but by the time we were leaving people were arriving & it had more of a buzz. Thanks to the lovely staff too for looking after us, & wearing such a gorgeous perfume 😆

Went for the pre theatre dinner, we really enjoyed it for the price. The prawns were delicious as well as the steak tartare For mains we had the steak which was well cooked and was a decent quality. The dessert as well was very enjoyable. The service from the staff was always brilliant. Thanks you

We were underwhelmed by the experience. The prices are high however the quality is not there. Extremely slow and inattentive service, average meat and extremely small portions. What you see on the picture was a dish for two and in total we paid for that, some chips and two soft drinks - over a £100. I know some great steak places in town, you pay good money there but you get the best quality meat, large portions, a great deal of sauces and a glass of wine for the money there. We found this place being quite a con and probably works for tourists, I would be surprised if they last long. We are certainly not coming back.

My recent Sunday lunch at KÖD Soho was an absolutely exceptional experience from start to finish. Every element of the meal was cooked to perfection, resulting in a truly delicious feast; in particular, the cabbage was a highlight and was nothing short of amazing. Complementing the outstanding food was the service, as the staff were consistently lovely and attentive, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. KÖD Soho offers a top-tier dining experience that combines expertly prepared dishes with fantastic hospitality.

A Steakhouse Gem in the Heart of London Located in the lively heart of Soho, KöD offers an elevated steakhouse experience in one of London’s most vibrant neighbourhoods. The atmosphere is modern yet warm, with a sleek Scandinavian touch and a lively buzz that makes it perfect for both special occasions and a night out with friends. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Sophie, the manager, who not only welcomed us but also took the time to explain which options were Halal. I really appreciated the attention to detail and the thoughtfulness in making my dining experience Halal-friendly. We began our evening with Garlic Prawns and Buffalo Chicken Wings. The garlic prawns were plump, juicy, and infused with just the right amount of garlicky richness, while the buffalo chicken wings had that perfect balance of tangy heat and tender meat – a starter selection that set the bar high for the rest of the evening. For mains, my friend opted for the Japanese Wagyu Sirloin (not Halal) paired with truffle fries. He described it as “sensational” with a melt-in-your-mouth texture and deep, rich flavour. I went for the Halal Australian Sirloin, served with creamy mashed potatoes and steak chips. The sirloin was cooked to perfection, tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, and I enjoyed it with a vibrant Chimichurri sauce that added a fresh, herby kick. The kitchen also ensured it was completely Halal-friendly by removing any bacon or non-Halal garnishes, which was greatly appreciated. Desserts were a treat in themselves. I had the Danish Rød Grød, a classic berry dessert that was refreshing, fruity, and beautifully presented. My friend enjoyed his Fried Apple Pie, which had a golden, crisp pastry shell encasing warm, spiced apple filling, comfort food at its finest. To accompany our meal, we sipped on delicious mocktails and homemade lemonade, both refreshing and perfectly balanced. A huge shout-out to the fantastic team – Sophie, Kanice, and Yacine – for making the night special. Sophie’s warm welcome set the tone, Kanice’s recommendations were spot on, and Yacine made sure we were well looked after and enjoying our drinks. KöD Soho isn’t just another steakhouse; it’s one of London’s finest, with excellent service, mouth-watering food, and Halal-friendly options that make it inclusive for all. Highly recommended!

Absolutely loved it! Came here after going to the restaurant in Copenhagen. Really enjoyed the Sunday Feast, great variety, plenty of it and perfectly cooked. Our waiter was very friendly and informative about the menu. Really, really nice and would definitely return & recommend.
