All the Restaurant Openings in Houston, July 2025 | Eater Houston

"Want to drink like a rock star? Maybe don’t drink exactly like Koe Wetzel, who is known to be a Texas-style party animal, but visit the second location of his bar chain (the first is in Fort Worth), which is now open in Midtown. It’s got all the beer and liquor you can imagine, and for bar bites there are Chicken Wannnngggs (please, ask for them exactly like that) with Buffalo hot sauce, lemon pepper, or barbecue sauce; a couple of salads if that’s how you roll; a couple of burger options; a chicken tender platter; fried pickles; and a chicken sandwich called the Cluck Norris." - Courtney E. Smith

Great vibes! Plenty of room to dance, and the DJ kept the energy high all night. Perfect spot for line dancing. The food was excellent, and our waitress was super friendly and quick. They even have an upstairs with different music, plus a bull at the front that’s perfect for fun selfies. Definitely need to come back so I can grab some souvenirs before heading home!

This bar is crazy cool! Probably the best build out I’ve ever seen. Every inch of this place is photo worthy! Vibes are off the charts. Added bonus they serve my favorite hard seltzer Happy Dad!

Stopped by Koes new bar after seeing him in concert on Saturday night! Great atmosphere and great drinks! Bar is very well decorated and a great time! If you love Koe I highly recommend if you are in the area! Had chicken tenders and a few drinks! Chicken tenders were 10/10!

Went for the line dance lesson. First time there. We really liked the modern western atmosphere. The staff was friendly and fun. Our bartender was great and makes good drinks. We did not try the food, but heard it was very good. The curly fries my friend ordered smelled great. Look forward to our next visit.

A Whole Vibe from the First Step In 🔥 Koe Wetzel’s Riot Room in Houston is exactly what you’d hope for—fun atmosphere, killer decor, and food that absolutely delivers. Every detail in the space is thoughtfully bold and unapologetically cool, just like the name on the door. The vibe is lively but welcoming, the kind of place you want to hang out for hours. And the food? Way better than you’d expect from a spot with this much personality—legit fantastic. Whether you’re a Koe fan or just someone who loves good food and good times, highly recommend giving it a try. It’s not just a restaurant—it’s an experience.

Unique spot in the Midtown area. It's a country bar but definitely plays everything. You will be able to get some two stepping, line dancing and a little booty shaking. Good drinks, good food and a lot of fun!

I came here from out of state (AZ), beyond excited as a country fan and country bar lover — and this ended up being one of the worst bar experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I walked in, in my cowgirl outfit, I was made to feel judged, mocked, and completely uncomfortable. The bartenders were behind the bar laughing, making eye contact with me, and clearly talking about me and my bomb outfit instead of helping us. The one in the blue sweatshirt flat-out ignored us even though we’d been waiting our turn behind another couple. She stood right in front of us, moving caddies around, playing on the computer, rearranging checkbooks — literally doing anything BUT taking our order. The short bartender with heavy dark makeup then decided to just stare me down like she was trying to intimidate me. Jokes on her, true pretty girls don’t get intimidated. When I asked, “Can we order?”, she just kept staring. I even asked, “Are you okay?”, and she goes, “Yes”… still staring. I asked again, “Are you sure?”, and she finally says, “Yeah, what’s up?” — as if I was the problem. I ordered a Ketel One and Sprite with lemon and lime. She takes the drink to the other side of the bar, moving things around it with her hands in a way that seriously freaked me out, then brought it back missing the lemon anyway. Meanwhile, the little guy bar manager with glasses sat there watching this whole thing go down and didn’t lift a finger. At that point, I was so uncomfortable and uneasy about the drink that I took it, sat in the back, and didn’t even touch it because I was worried it wasn’t safe. I left my $11 drink sitting there and walked out. Two women came in excited for a fun night at a country bar, and instead we got laughed at, stared down, ignored, and made to feel completely unwelcome. Absolutely disgusting customer service. Worst bar experience ever. Outfit photos for reference. NEVER AGAIN. P.S. Some random door guy thought he was doing me a favor by saying my outfit looked good and that I should “appreciate it, since that’s even coming from a guy.” As if I care. Do better lol.

This area is perfect to bar hop. Went out with a group of my friends for my BIRTHDAY, we made our way here around 11pm on a Friday night. It was DEAD, less than 20 people there. They would not let my man in because he was wearing a tshirt & they had a “dress code”. The bouncer then proceeded to let 4 other guys in wearing a tshirt. He even let someone else WITH US, also wearing a tshirt in. When i pointed this out he said “it was the collar” & it look like he “just put a shirt on to go out”. I tried to explain to him it was my birthday but he didnt care. I could understand if it was a high class bar but it’s not a nice enough bar to have a dress code & its not like there was anyone else there to impress.

Yelp
The chicken fried steak had no seasoning at all--super bland and not tender. Service was disappointing; it took forever just to get menus and no one came to take our order, so we ended up going to the bar ourselves. The sides weren't any better. The elote was overly salty and the mac and cheese tasted like something straight from the microwave. I didn't even bother trying the drinks after that. The only saving grace was the environment. The music was great and the place is definitely cute for pictures, but overall the food and service were not it.

Yelp
I did this buildout , it came out very nice and everything but the owners are thieves , they screwed me over , they didn't pay us . Great looking place but very bad owners.

Yelp
Pretty standard chicken fried steak. Not very tender or big, but great for the price point of $15.95. Good black beans and rice. The cornbread tasted like it was cooked with used, rancid oil and had an off flavor. Pretty decent meal for the price, but not amazing.

Yelp
Second try m, drinks have little or no alcohol and are poorly made - food is totally bland and the servers spend more time talking to each other than waiting on customers . It has been less than 19% full since opening and won't last long! Bye Coe

Yelp
Horrible experience. We saw UFC 317 and spent money at this location. After the UFC event we left to explore some other bars. When we tried to enter once again, an Asian bouncer would not let my friend in. Stating he did not fit the look. Why was he allowed to enter literally an hour ago. Asian bouncer definitely profiled us
