"Korean barbecue is meant to be a communal experience, and several places in Annandale (as well as a growing number in D.C.) are natural fits for larger groups. For those in the D.C. area’s Koreatown, Kogiya is an excellent option. Online reservations allow for groups as large as 24." - Missy Frederick

Much anticipated visit as we celebrated Mother’s Day. We had the premium combo for two and ordered pork bellies of spicy and normal set up. Our servers were great. Food was good. Seats were not comfortable though.

Wei-Ai Tai

Google
Bustling Korean BBQ restaurant in Annandale. The AYCE option is quite reasonable, and the meat selections were decent. We tried the brisket, marinated beef ribs, and pork belly. The green onion pancake was very average, though. Fast and efficient service. Small parking lot.

Oh em gee. Hands down the best food I’ve had since my wife left me. Really lifted my spirits. Even my server, Peter, gave some of the best service I’ve seen. So young and mature. Can’t believe the professionalism he presented. Stand out guy.

Ryan Barrett

Google
It's smokey inside. There are extraction hoods above each table powerful enough to make the front door slam shut, but you'll still want to hide any jacket or coat inside of your chair so it doesn't pick up the smoke.

Google
<3 the food but today we had a server named Jay and he was so awesome and attentive. I think today's service was the best our family has gotten since we've been coming here. He took the time to cut the slightly charred/burnt parts for my son and he's the the only server there that's done that for us!

We had a fantastic experience at this KBBQ restaurant! The atmosphere was inviting, the staff was warm and attentive, and the service was impressively fast. One standout feature was the built-in storage under the seats, which kept our jackets from absorbing the BBQ smell—a thoughtful and much-appreciated touch. The meat was fresh and tender; we ordered pork belly, brisket, and spicy pork belly, all of which were delicious. The sides were also exceptional, especially the kimchi and chayote. Overall, we loved this place and will definitely return when we’re in the area!

Google
I don’t usually write reviews, but Kogiya is hands down my favorite Korean BBQ spot in the area. The food is consistently delicious, and the service is always excellent! My go-to dish is the galbi! It’s incredibly flavorful and always cooked just right. I’ve had a few different servers help with the grilling, but Mason stands out. He cooks the galbi to absolute perfection every time. If you’re craving Korean BBQ, I highly recommend this place!

They have an hour and a half time limit, but they can apparently kick you out whenever they want anyway. My wife booked a reservation here at least a month in advance for 6 pm on a Tuesday to celebrate my birthday. We arrived right on time and were seated immediately. Everything was going fine and the food was decent until 7:04 pm when a gentleman who was not our server came to us at our table and told us there was a party that needed our space and we had to leave. While we were a bit shocked, we remained calm and respectful. My wife reminded him that we had made a reservation for an hour and a half. He said "I know, I'm sorry." We said we're not done eating yet (we still had a TON of food to get through). "I know, I'm sorry." We asked if we could at least have the food to-go if we were going to be kicked out before our time was up. "No, I'm sorry." Wow. Can we get some sort of discount taken off our check then? "No, I'm sorry." You've got to be kidding me. Finally I asked when this next party was arriving. He said he would go ask his manager. A few minutes later he returns and says not to worry about it, they had found another place to put the party. This whole experience was just WEIRD. Punishing a current customer to appease future ones? Offering no incentives to do so? Again, we were not walk-ins or in a situation where it could MAYBE be justified to treat us in this manner. We had a reservation for a certain amount of time. It is NOT the customer's fault that you as a restaurant don't know how to properly manage your own space. Thanks for ruining what was a long planned out and supposed to be special night .

Yelp
We did the Option A all you can eat for $33 per person and had a great experience. I hadn't been here in 5+ years and my experience made me miss eating here! The meats were all great quality, our favorites being the miso pork belly and spicy bulgolgi. It comes with unlimited meats, unlimited sauce, rice and veggies. The sauces were very good and one was unique and lemony. My memory had always been that you need a reservation, and this time we went for lunch right when they opened on a Sunday and we were fine without one. It started filling up around 2pm.
google avatar

Katrina D.

Yelp
Came here with a big group since they offered reservations and I hadn't been here in a few years. Staff was attentive and food was good. Took a bit of time to get things started but once they did... everything happened so fast! Everyone who ordered cocktails enjoyed them and aside from AYCE there were a la carte options like ttukbokki that was super delicious and my friend even said the best he ever had! I probably should have sat in the middle of the table to help my friends that were more inexperienced with Korean bbq know what to do. But I ordered sides like the egg soufflé and some lettuce for wraps that seemed to help. Some of the meat was a bit fatty. But the marinated ones had good flavor and the chicken seemed to be everyone's favorite. Except me. I'm a brisket girl. The chairs were interesting that you could put your jacket and purse in it which was nice because it was a cold night and it kept everything organized and away from smelling like grilled meat. Would definitely go again!

Yelp
Service is great. Quality of food is good. The banchan is yummy. My clothes smell like KBBQ even tho I stowed it away in the seat. The soybean soup and egg souffele were the unexpected stars of the show. We opted for brisket, soy garlic brisket and soy garlic pork. Brisket was a blank canvas to dip into sauces or pair with banchan. The soy garlic brisket was flavorful as was the fattier pork. We didnt order anything else. We should have replaced the rice with lettuce but my son loves rice. The potato salad is evil (it was delicious). $33 per person AYCE with option A.... not bad. Not good if you can't eat a lot.
google avatar

Yelp
The BEST all you can eat (AYCE) Korean barbecue in Northern VA. Best vale at $33 for Option A lunch (this was a weekday). My go to: 1. Brisket. Thinly sliced. No marinade. Moist. Deeeeelish!! 2. Pork Belly. Thick. No marinade. Yummmmy. 3. Egg soup (pardon for not knowing the name) Other meats - like chicken - are available already marinaded. Calling all Carnivores. Lol. Staff cooks right in front of you on the grill that's on the table. Awesome customer service. They kept the meats coming quickly. Complimentary unlimted sides: rice, veg, egg soup. Visit this small business. We'll be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Over ordered but worth it. We opted to not do AYCA to have higher quality meat and we're not disappointed. We added a corn cheese side which we finished and a bibimbop bowl - not needed, took to go. Solid rec from a KBBQ lover!
google avatar

Sheridan S.

Yelp
We went here for a work Thanksgiving lunch and had a blast! The all you can eat is the perfect option to have with a big group without worrying about splitting everything up at the end. The banchan was perfect and each cut of meat hit the spot. I personally loved the soy garlic ribeye, the miso pork belly, and the spicy sliced pork.
google avatar

Mila F.

Yelp
Yes! Great meat and they cook it for you if you ask! The 3 of us were wondering if getting the 2-3 group meal would be enough if we were hungry. YES. We had leftovers. And the servers were friendly, the sides were plentiful and I loved the cuts of meat we chose ! Family friendly ambience and clean space! Would def return! Also well priced for the quality
google avatar

Amanda Y.

Yelp
Perfect place to come with a big group of people to truly chow down. Servers were fast and consistent with the banchan which i deeply appreciate. We got the baseline all you can eat, which provided plenty of meat options!! Would highly recommend this place and am sure i'll be back!
google avatar

Maria K.

Yelp
Solid kbbq spot - we got the AYCE option A which was good and the meats we got were tasty. However I wish the portions were a little smaller, there was a lot of meat for just the two of us and I wanted to try more different kinds. Service was fast and efficient. I also liked the chair design to keep items away from the smoky smell. We came at 5pm on a Friday as a walk in and were seated immediately, but around 6pm the place was packed. It does get quite noisy within the restaurant when full.

Yelp
About a 1-1.5: We had come here as a group for an early dinner, and our table opted for the A option for the AYCE - We stuck with the chadol, the marinated chadol, the miso-marinated pork belly, and the veggies. We had to constantly remind the staff to cook the meats at the requested and appropriate temperature - some of the meats were undercooked, while others were left on the grill too long. The meats, especially the chadol, had an off-putting taste to them - kind of like a 'gas'-type of an odor and taste, due to the grill - not sure if the gas that was being used was not calibrated properly, but the taste permeated through the meats, making it super unenjoyable and almost inedible. In terms of the soup and the steamed egg, I wished the restaurant was more mindful in terms of the number of party in the group and actually provide the correct servings of these. In addition, there were no additional bowls or soup spoons to use. Honestly, it seemed as if we filled up our bellies more with the side dishes, rather than the meats, if we were able to get them. Trying to flag our servers down and getting refills on the banchans, rice, water, and even silverware was such a pain. Note that there is a time limit to your dining experience, where a great percentage of this time is waiting around for service. The place does accept reservations. Sorry, Kogiya - we'll be opting for other KBBQ places. +funky-tasting meats +slow and inattentive service +meats not properly cooked +reservations accepted +parking available in the lot

Yelp
Fortunately, our area has several all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ restaurants, and this one is among the best! They offer various meats and side dishes at a reasonable price, and their service is excellent. To avoid the crowds, we usually visit right when they open. It has been some time since our last visit, and we eagerly look forward to dining there again soon.
google avatar

Yelp
Almost every time I visit the DMV, this place is a must stop by. You can chose to grill your own meat or have one of the servers cook your food. We almost always go with having someone cook our food that way we can focus on eating. Very important especially when you're doing AYCE. The all you can eat is a great price point $33-$38 dollars depending on option A or B. AYCE is timed but pick right and you'll be stuffed!! The banchan here is delicious. And always plentiful. My only gripe is I wish that when you're with a big crowd, that they would give you a bigger serving so you don't have to ask for refills as often. The meat is always fresh and delicious. The marinated meats are some of the best I've had at any Kbbq place. The place can get very busy so just know depending on the time of day you may have a wait. They do take reservations online.
google avatar

Eric W.

Yelp
I was craving some all-you-can-eat Korean bbq, and this is my go to place for that. Food - they are great, I personally like option a for the samgyeopsal and the brisket. The middle sauce is my favorite here Service - good, they are very nice and friendl Parking - they have a relatively small parking lot outside Overall, this place is great!

Yelp
Great food great service. We chose b option B which had more to select from than A but costed $4 more per person ($38 vs $34 I think?). We opted for the servers to cook for us and they did a great job. Ended with free ice coffee.
google avatar

Yulee K.

Yelp
Please make a reservation ahead of time especially during peak dinner times on the weekends. The line is literally out the door. We thankfully made reservations and were seated immediately. The all you can eat meat quality was very good and we were pretty satisfied. The 양념 차돌배기 was very good so I would recommend that. They also give you a small iced coffee as dessert at the end of your meal that is really good and kind of a highlight! The vibes are great with the steel interior and pocha like chairs. It can be quite loud inside because of all of the people but it was a fun experience for me and my friends on a weekend.
google avatar

Clara S.

Yelp
Great meat, but very busy and the ventilation isn't the great so my eyes got a bit sore from the smoke.
google avatar

Orquidea R.

Yelp
Quick and attentive service. Great amount of food for the price. The ambience is not too noisy and waiter was very prompt bringing out good items for us to cook. He made sure to check on us frequently in case we needed anything else. Good meat quality.
google avatar

Jenny T.

Yelp
This place is overhyped. There's always a wait, it seems. But the meat packages aren't that great. We came on labor day and they were super understaffed. Everyone was literally running around and while I appreciated the staff themselves... this is just not a good way to run a business. Staff would drop food and literally run away. We didn't get our water until way late..I was sitting by the sunny window and sweated my life away. The banchan was good - I liked the kimchi and fish cakes. The steamed egg was good. The spicy pork belly was good. The chicken wasn't good - it was pre cooked and came out on a hot plate. Didn't have a lot of flavor, was kind of dry. The vegetable option came with like 2 broccoli, 2 mushrooms, a slice of onion,1 tofu, and a slice of sweet potato - we had to cut everything up and spread it out‐ kind of wished they cut it up.... Overall the place is really small, the options are limited, and I wasn't super impressed.

Yelp
Not worth the drive from DC. We were very excited to make the hike from DC to Kogiya after reading it had won many of awards and recognitions. I fortunately we were very disappointed. Meats and cuts disappointing. We ordered marinated chicken to grill and instead of fresh chicken they brought us a dish with a gnarly looking chicken stew. Service was not great. But we're used to this and will tolerate if the food outperforms service. Not here. Brisket was all fat, hardly any meat. Garlic pork super sweet. Soybean soup flavorless with tons of onion. I can go on and on. Honestly. If you're in DC. Iron age will do the job. Service okay but decent cuts and well marinated meats.

Yelp
Decent food for the price. Their soup is catered more towards the taste bud of Americans than Koreans. I don't really see much Asians here but!!! It's a great spot for all you can eat. I enjoy their beef and intestines, even though the intestines are not even close to comparable to (GopChang Story). Staff and service I received was on spot, and made me happy. They were prompt filling up sides (veggies& sauce). Even though their soup wasn't that great, hey. For the price and all you can eat, I can't really complain too much. But I will add, I was a little blah about the food taste being catered more towards the American people than keeping it traditional. Oh, and please keep the wasabi sauce? That was a nice little kick surprise. Perfect pairing for meat!
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Overall I enjoyed the flavors and options of the All You Can Eat (AYCE) Option A dine in menu. It was $33/per person which is about standard pricing for AYCE. I do wish their a la carte options were cheaper and came with less meat (like a sampler set) because I never feel like I can eat my money's worth at kbbq places as an average height woman. They had good service, coming to check on our table multiple times over the course of the evening to see if we wanted to order more meat. We went at 6pm on a weekday and there were only 2 parties there including us, but by around 6:30pm the whole place was full. Kogiya was able to do AYCA vegetables for $23/per person for the vegetarians at our tables. In addition to the banchan, they grilled tofu, broccoli, sweet potato, and onions. My favorite meat was the miso pork belly, but I also enjoyed the spicy pork belly a lot and the soy garlic bulgolgi was flavorful. Tasty, I just wish they also had beef as part of option a AYCE and more banchan like cheesy corn.
google avatar

Yelp
Haven't been here for a minute. I love this bbq place because it opens late but also the meat quality is THE BEST. We got the pork bellies which are seasoned very well. What I like about here is that they oil their pan so the meat doesn't stick to the pan and the pan don't get dark quickly. The potato salad is okay, not my fav. Needs to be a bit sweeter. The service here is quick and the server are always so friendly. They also open super late so perfect :) Place is big and can fit large party. They also take reservations.
google avatar

Jo L.

Yelp
FOOD Kogiya is among the best KBBQ restaurants in NOVA (if not the best). They offer a great variety of a la carte options and a great variety of options within their Option A/B all-you-can-eat (AYCE) as well. Unless you can eat 5+ plates of meat per person for the AYCE, I would recommend going the a la carte route to you the mental calculations of making the most bang for your buck. They offer three sauce options to dip your meat in, but do note that one of the three has peanuts in it, so if you have allergies, be on the look out of that. SERVICE The staff are kind and friendly. There is a tab where you can flip up or down to indicate if you want to grill the meat yourself or have the staff do it for you. When completing your meal, you can pay at the table or take it up to the front (if someone is present) to pay there too. They also give you a yakult to-go post-meal. AMBIANCE It's very loud and lively inside. It's a great atmosphere to catch up with friends over a nice meal, especially on a cold winter day. PARKING A small parking lot is available in front of the store that is shared with one or two neighboring vendors.
google avatar

Samantha H.

Yelp
I have been here a handful of times to try different menu options - AYCE and premium sets. On busier days, I park in the adjacent parking lot, and it has been better to go with a reservation to avoid wait time. I like asking for lettuce to eat with my meat and they are very nice when it comes to refilling your sides, so don't be shy about asking. I do like that when you order a set and an a la carte entree you get to bring leftovers home because I don't finish my rice but am happy to take it home. The beef set I had recently was very delicious. Even though I've been here before I don't remember the iced coffee after the meal, maybe because I don't drink caffeine late in the day. However I asked about it and found out that they sell a 16oz cup for $4 so I bought one to drink the next day and really enjoyed it! By looking at it, I could tell it was rich and strong, sort of like Vietnamese coffee.
google avatar

Ellen C.

Yelp
My mom and I came to try the AYCE Option A. We were allowed to choose from a variety of different pork belly and pork flavors, chicken, fatty brisket, tofu, and veggies. I definitely recommend this option if you like pork. Otherwise, there weren't many beef options. You have to order those a la carte. I think if we came back we would try Option B, which provides a lot more types of meats for $5 pp more. The AYCE also came with unlimited sides - kimchi, radish, rice, etc. You can also choose whether or not to cook yourself or ask the servers to cook for you. The servers came around quite often - there was always something cooking on our grill (unless we asked for a break) and they were super quick to attend to any additional orders + requests we had! The vibe of this spot is kind of industrial - the seats and tables are all metal which makes it feel kind of cold.
google avatar

Christin K.

Yelp
We got 3 orders of kalbi and we were so impressed by the quality quantity and the service. You get x2 rolls of kalbi per serving and i thought it was more than enough for one person. The staff is also amazing grilling the meat and very tentative to you while you're dining. I also love love love that they take reservations. We had their bibim naenmyun and it looks spicy but it was a perfect balance of sweet tangy and spice. Highly recommend this place if you're in the mood for korean bbq
google avatar

Jenny M.

Yelp
Selection of food is quite limited compared to the other AYCE, however the quality of side dish and meat was on top. The service was also outstanding, very hands on and the staff that was designated to us (more than 6 pax) such a superstar navigating from one request to another. The place was quite spacious not colorful, really simple but for what we want and need this was a good pick. The kimchi was so good!

JJ T.

Yelp
We had beef combo for two and shared between 3 of us. I shouldn't have done that! Their food was so good, I kept wanting for more even when I was actually full! Normally, I steer away from AYCE buffets for my preference for quality over quantity. I would be coming back here again for their Buffett dinner one of these days!

Yelp
I'm in search of the best all you can eat KBBQ spot in the area. So far, this spot is my top, but that's not saying much since there are so many to try after this. I'll go with what was great and what was not so great. GREAT: SERVICE -everyone that came to our table to cook our food was super friendly and watchful of the food on the grill. They even asked us how we liked our pork belly and made sure they cooked it the way we liked it MISO PORK BELLY -this was particularly my favorite! Super tender and flavorful PANCHAN -appetizers were plenty and unlimited. Our favorites were the kimchi mixed with the potato salad, and the bean sprouts YOGURT -they gave yogurt drinks at the end of the meal which was awesome! NOT GREAT: CHAIRS -okay these chairs are so uncomfortable!! Theyre not stable and they made me feel like I was sitting on a squatty potty how low to the ground they were. Scoot a bit and you may accidentally pull apart your DIY chair SPICY CHICKEN -this was oddly not what I was expecting. It didn't go on the grill and it was pre-made. It was spiced strangely and it was the least enjoyable CHOICE -I like that they give a lot of options, but I didn't like how they split it into Option A and Option B. This is the first time I've seen that... YOGURT -though it was complimentary, it did not taste good...tasted off, kind of like cleaner (throwing up emoji) Overall, it's a no frills KBBQ spot. You get what you come for, but there are some things that can be improved. Parking is tight so be aware of that, but a pro is that it's walking distance to a nearby boba spot if you're looking for dessert.

Yelp
Go in hungry and you wont be disappointed. The inside is packed full of tables and noisy and smoky- and teaming with life in general. You can tell folks com here to enjoy the meal as well as their company. Service is excellent and extremely attentive. The portions are huge, and the food all excellent- I only wish I could take some home since it was so good. The dipping sauces just serve to enhance the meal even more. Its a great meal and well worth a few visits!
google avatar

Daira R.

Yelp
I was definitely a little underwhelmed here. Came with friends and it was definitely disappointing that a significant amount of the menu was unavailable to me due to a food allergy I have. They put shrimp flakes on everything apparently! Outside of that, I was disappointed they didn't have rice paper - oh well. Our group really enjoyed the radish paper and kept asking for more. We finally asked them to just bring a bunch of it and instead we were brought a refresh of all of the sides and only a few pieces of radish. I'm sure it was just a miscommunication but it felt like we were being a burden constantly asking and asking and asking. The meat was fine, nothing special. Overall, I would not return specifically because of my allergy and how difficult it was to be accommodated.

Shahir A.

Yelp
Amazing food, loved the ambiance. Services was awesome as well.. they cooked the steak right in front of us. As you can see we cleaned everything!!! Great good!!

Yelp
Make reservations. Place is very busy. Also the online menu, to me, was confusing. The $100 plates served 4. Other than that, the people at the restaurant were very helpful and friendly. Food was promptly brought out all request for refills were quickly answered. It's an enjoyable experience to sit around eat at your leisure and have food cooking in front of you.

Yelp
particularly good service among kbbq, otherwise 3.2 stars. we arrived late evening and got seated immediately despite our party of 5 expecting a small wait. highly recommend barley tea, brisket, and miso pork belly. the grill plate is kind of small and gets crowded quickly. sauces are experimental and interesting, but don't match the kbbq palate. we chose ($33) AYCE Option A! you get a lot of food but it's mostly porky. the meat quality + marinades were a little different from how we remember, but they weren't bad! change is cool! some of us couldn't keep up with the fattiness and richness. we noticed they likely copy the marinade for the soy brisket + soy pork - and their spicy sliced pork tasted like they added spicy sauce to the regular soy marinade option. tofu was solid! i liked the mushrooms! sauces: we all think they could be adjusted. the horseradish sauce is passable (interesting vs insulting), but the yuzu-y citrus sauce needs a bit of help in order to compliment the meat. sides: everything great. soup and steamed egg rocked. their garlic was a little odd but the taste went away once it was fully cooked. the white radish slices were thick and seem to have horseradish added! we all really wanted to cook for ourselves to get the right fat sear, but we were a little rushed in the end (totally understandable) when a very sweet and kind server took over. she stuck with us the entire night and remembered every request we submitted -- even unofficial passing comments!
google avatar

Aimee G.

Yelp
We had a reservation but that meant nothing, still had to wait almost 30 min for our table. Ambience was a little cold since everything was metal and industrial themed. The meet quality was pretty good. Banchan could be better and the sauces but overall a good experience.
google avatar

Allen H.

Yelp
Kogiya is back, baby! My last visit must have been a really off-night, or maybe Kogiya has really stepped their game up. I got the all you can eat option A, and they were bringing massive, generous platters of brisket. The new brisket item on the menu - the soy marinated brisket - is really really good. In addition to unlimited banchan and two (count em, two!) soups + eggs, Kogiya is back on my list of places to take out-of-towners.
google avatar

Sam W.

Yelp
By far our favorite kbbq place we've found in Annandale so far. Definitely want to make a reservation - it's a small place inside but the staff does great work to turn tables over quickly. We love the bulgogi, spicy pork belly, spicy bulgogi, and the pan fried dumplings. Such high quality meats and banchan. a good beer and sochu selection. We often brings visitors here for an amazing kbbq experience. We haven't tried their all you can eat or combo selections yet - usually because the ayce doesn't have beef bulgogi, which is unfortunate for us - but we also end up more than enough food that we can then take home for leftovers.
google avatar

Shirley Z.

Yelp
Kogiya is my favorite AYCE Kbbq restaurant in this area. It's always packed, food is consistent, and service is great. My go-to every time is the miso pork belly. Out of all the meats they offer, that one is always a hit. The bulgogi is also fantastic. The ones I'm not too fond of are the spicy chicken, which is cooked separately, and the brisket that's very thinly cut. The service is fantastic in that if you have a big group, the servers will sometimes help you cook on another table to speed up the process. Otherwise, the cook time is a bit slow for having to share a grill with multiple people. If you're looking for kbbq in Northern Virginia, this is the place to go! If you have a big group, make sure to call ahead.

Yelp
We used to really loved this place. But it seems that their quality of food and amount of food has dwindle down over these past years. We still go once in awhile but not as often as we used to.

Yelp
I've frequented this Korean BBQ spot multiple times and it continues to impress. While it's usually busy, I've never had trouble finding a table for two without a reservation. The interior design is simple with metal accents, creating a casual vibe that's perfect for friends, and relaxed outings. I would not say it is not ideal for a first date however. Their unique touch of providing a decision card for self-cooking or staff assistance is a nice addition. The quality of the meat is above average, with fresh and flavorful cuts. The staff is skilled at cooking the meat to perfection and are friendly throughout the experience. The prices are fair, offering value for the delicious food and great service. Overall, this excellent Korean BBQ spot is ideal for casual get-togethers, offering fantastic meat options and a laid-back atmosphere. Just arrive early if possible to secure your spot at this popular eatery.

Yelp
I remember years ago when Kogiya opened and it was amaze balls. What a disappointment in 2023. I struggle with giving this place a 3 but honestly I feel for the price they need to step it up. We got the all beef combo with shrimp. With a bottle of soju and a soda our bill was close to 200 for two people! The beef cuts were good but lacked a ton of flavor. The sauces were mediocre. The side plates were just ok, and they didn't bother to ask if we wanted more of something when empty. Also no bottled water of any kind. Also the place was excruciatingly hot and we also felt 45 minutes in with a ton of food in front of us to wrap it up and go home with the check. Bummer.

Yelp
Serve doesn't have much knowledge of the menu and options. I believe that was her initial week or two. The quality of the food is decent. It's not fancy or amazing. I felt like I was at home in this location, which has a long history of Korean restaurants. Good job

Yelp
Food: Beef brisket - 8/10 Spicy pork belly - 8/10 Beef tongue - 8/10 The meats here are delicious and the sides complement well! Im glad this restaurant has potato salad because other kbbqs dont have it. Im pretty simple when it comes to kbbq, so brisket and spicy pork belly are my go to meats. We tried the beef tongue and i am glad we got it! Nice and soft and delicious! Restaurant: The vents are nice and strong so you dont smell like meat when you leave. The parking is a little tight when the restaurant is packed.

Yelp
With the few selections of meats plus a mediocre service, you are better off going somewhere else for AYCE Kbbq.

Yelp
I love love love this place! My partner and I have been meaning to go to Annendale to try the different Korean restaurants and I'm so glad we tried this place. The meat here was fantastic and fresh. Everything came really quickly as well which is key for a korean bbq place. I appreciate that each portion was smaller so that we can try a bunch of things without getting too full. I also really enjoyed their sides. There was a great variety and everything just paired so nicely together. They had an option for soup and steamed egg which you don't always see, so that was a fun surprise. If I had to say something about this place it would be their chairs. They were small stools so kind of uncomfortable, but honestly the food made up for it. Can't wait to come back to this place!

Yelp
Came here in a group of 12 with all of us doing the AYCE option, and the servers handled us with no problem - the service was fast and efficient. The meats were all very solid. I'm normally a fatty brisket fan but the spicy pork belly and spicy chicken were the standouts to me. The spicy chicken was surprisingly good - it was extremely tender and was served in a spicy sauce with veggies and onions. All the banchan were good as well. This may come from inexperience, but they also served a dipping sauce that I don't think I had encountered at other KBBQ places I'd been to. The sauce was tangy and very citrus-based, and I really liked it. In terms of atmosphere, this place is fairly small and everyone is pretty packed in, but that gave the restaurant a lively vibe that I enjoyed. Seats fill up quick, so I'd recommend calling ahead and making a reservation. Kogiya is definitely a great choice if you're in the mood for KBBQ.

Yelp
Been here a few times since around 2015 or so. The meat itself and sauces they provide taste great! The atmosphere though, is a bit too loud because of the fans and music. It also just overall does not feel very clean. The floors are oily and need to be cleaned better along with the table tops. My group made a reservation for 6 and the table was not thoroughly cleaned when we were seated, so I had to take a napkin and wipe it myself. Other than that, my friends and I did have a nice time, despite having to shout at each other. There were plenty of side dishes which all tasted delicious as well and comlimentary steamed egg plus a spicy squash soup. We ordered the Choice A meats, all contained the standard kbbq meats that people are usually familiar with at $33/person. We ate so much and enjoyed every bite! The server did come by often to grill and refill our cups when needed too. I would return again because the food itself all tasted great and had plenty of sides for a great price.

Yelp
The Hangry Girls @hangryindc make sure to enjoy life simple pleasures. One of the main ones being kbbq. You can never go wrong with the spicy (which still isn't spicy although they will add some jalapeño peppers if you ask) and miso pork belly here. A 4/5 and 5/5 in my humble opinion. As of late I've been partaking in the mixed veggies and tofu as well, which taste great after being grilled. Some of my favorite sides are and will always be the wasabi daikon, kimchi and the pickled chayote (all three a 5/5). I'll definitely be back to enjoy more kbbq whenever I feel like indulging in life's simple pleasures. #hangrydc Tips: it's usually not too busy Monday through Friday before 3pm. Anytime after that I would suggest that you call ahead to be placed on the wait list.

Yelp
Service Really Bad. Server keep forgetting orders and hardly came by to check if we needed anything. What out for cost of beers! They charged us $112 for 7 bottles of beer! What the heck! $16 bottles of beer! How outrageous!!!
