Houston’s Best Coffee Shops | Eater Houston

"This pristine Japanese-style coffee house in Sugar Land is a destination for coffee enthusiasts. Top sellers include the Moshi Moshi, an iced combination of banana, brown sugar, espresso, and a dash of matcha for bitterness. The Okinawa latte is another standout, combining black sesame with rich, smoky Okinawan brown sugar for a balance of savory and sweet. Matcha here is offered in multiple ways, including traditional, Americano, or a latte made with housemade syrups. Pair your drink with treats like doughnuts, cookies, bundt cakes, and other pastries from local Filipino bakery Jambeto’s for a delightful experience." - Brianna Griff

The Best Matcha Drinks, Dishes, and Desserts in Houston | Eater Houston

"This Sugar Land coffee shop is a true destination. Kohiko prides itself on Japanese-style coffees and drinks, including ceremonially grade matcha offered in strains of soft, almond-forward Seion and the creamy, slightly grassy Uji Homare. Enjoy in more traditional forms — as a latte, cortado, Americano, or as a tea, or try the Moshi Moshi, a light combination of banana, brown sugar, matcha, and milk that might remind you of banana bread in drink form." - Brittany Britto Garley

Finally gave this place a try after hearing many good things about this place. I tried going back in December but unfortunately wasn't able to as there wasn't any parking spots available. The park space is limited as it is small, gets packed easily, and some spots are reserved for the business in the same plaza. So I tried again on a weekday got lucky since it wasn't busy. The space is well lit up, has outdoor and indoor seating, and a great place to study by yourself. The staff were super friendly and nice along with giving they recommendations. I got the Moshi Moshi and The Tea Time (staff recommendation). The Moshi Moshi (7/10), I would have like there to be for matcha than espresso as the espresso was strong and hid the matcha flavor along with there being a strong banana flavor after which tasted out of place. The Tea Time (8.5/10), the peach espresso cold foam was delicious, next with the cold brew made it next level, and you can definitely taste the ginger. Overall a great place with unique drink and good quality matcha. Only downside is that parking is limited.

The drinks here are genuinely great — really solid coffee and good flavor. That said, I had a frustrating experience. I ordered a cold brew with no ice because I didn’t want it to get watered down as I drank it. I get that removing ice means the cup won’t be as full, but what I didn’t expect was to get barely six ounces of cold brew in what looked like a much larger cup. I actually measured it when I got home because it seemed so little — and yep, six ounces. That’s honestly ridiculous for the price they charge. If removing ice means I get barely half a drink, I’d expect a heads-up at the counter or for them to adjust the pour to a reasonable amount. Other coffee shops in Houston (and Sugar Land) manage this way better. Also, their syrups are extremely inconsistent. Sometimes you can barely taste any flavor, and other times it’s perfect. It’s all over the place. They really need to start properly measuring or standardizing how much they use because it makes ordering your favorite drink kind of a gamble. Would love to keep coming back because the coffee itself is good — but they need to fix how they handle no-ice orders and get more consistent with their syrups.

Google
It’s a small, clean and cozy coffee/drinks shop. I came for the matcha, and was pleased with the quality and service at the shop. Most of the customers stayed to work or study, so it’s pretty quiet and chilled to enjoy the drinks. We had the matcha latte , matcha & sesame latte, and the Genmaicha. The drinks looked great and tasted good too.

Google
i was not a fan of my order: matcha latte with oat milk and brown sugar. HOWEVER, i realize this may be because i enjoy sweet coffee/latte drinks. i can tell the matcha is high quality. it tasted nutty and earthy to me. my biggest complaint about the drink is that i paid $10 for more than 1/2 cup of ice (see photo). that feels disingenuous. even in the houston summer no one needs that much ice. i couldn’t imagine letting this drink sit for too long. otherwise, the service was kind and the aesthetic of the space is well designed. i do agree with another reviewer— the parking lot is not ideal. however, this was not an issue for me as there are 2 10-minute spots in front of the cafe.

Google
This is such a cute coffee shop to get some good quality coffee or matcha drink. My husband got the Okinawan latte, & I got a matcha latte. Both were delicious, as it was perfectly subtly sweet. The staff are very nice and professional as well. Happy to stop by here again when we’re in Houston.

I was excited to try Kohiko Coffee House and I am so glad I did — Their limited drinks are very creative and full of flavor. I wish the menu explained the taste profiles better because the flavors are so different than anything you get at a typical coffee shop, it’s hard to understand what you are ordering. My suggestion would be a menu that explains the limited drinks in a way where you can compare to someone most people have tried in a more traditional setting. They also offer the traditionals, like americano, cortado and espresso. We enjoyed the limited offering drink, Houjicoco. It was robust, sweet and nutty. The space has a large table where you can sit and work, individual cubbies, a living room style couch area and another small bench seating for two people. During peak hours, the place is packed. You should know that there is limited parking and many folks park along the street. The staff was very sweet and welcoming. The reasons for a 4-star rating is the smaller size drink, the lack of offering several sizes, and the limited explanation on the menu - I will, however, return to try other options.

Google
Kohiko Coffee House has been my go-to coffee shop for months, and I can't recommend it enough! The owner and staff are incredibly friendly—I’m on a first-name basis with the baristas, and they always make me feel like a valued customer. The drinks are amazing, and the atmosphere is perfect for working, studying, or just hanging out. Whether you're a coffee lover or just looking for a cozy spot to relax, this is the place to be. I always recommend Kohiko to my friends and family. Definitely a must-visit!

Yelp
Went here on for a date after deciding on a matcha for a little drink, and honestly going in already had pretty high expectations from previous reviews raving how good the matcha and I'm glad to report to the chat, that the matcha was indeed as the kids say "bussin". So I went with the houjicha matcha latte, with simple brown sugar syrup and whole milk. Now if you love matcha, you'll for SURE love the shop but if you love matcha and just maybe wanted a slightly different horizontally similar flavor profile you know with a little bit of a stronger nutty flavor then for sure go with the houjicha. My date went with the same one but with a black sesame syrup and it honestly slapped even harder. Employees were a great vibe everyone was super nice, the shop was small and quiet and had a lot of natural lighting I with a little outdoor area. Large island counter that was free from clutter and had these cute Pokemon figures. Vibe was an 11/10. ALSO we got a free croissant since they were closing up and had an extra one. Sometimes when life gives you delicious lemonade and you wonder if it can get any better, boom out of nowhere...comes a croissant. You want good matcha flavored latte/tea/drink, you want some nice vibes, you wanna bring your partner or even a date, check out Kohiko!

Yelp
Came by on a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed with a line out the door. Parking is a little tricky since most spots are reserved for the other suites, but there's street parking nearby. I ordered the matcha latte with Uji Homare matcha and brown sugar syrup. It was really good, but I was a little bummed that the cup wasn't filled all the way to the top.

Yelp
If there's one thing about Kohiko that you should know--it's that these baristas really know what they're doing! I've been here a couple times, and each time, my drink has been a unique blend of flavors and consistently high quality. I think their matcha especially stands out. It is unsweetened, but very high quality and rich in flavor. Adding a syrup to your matcha latte also adds a perfect dash of sweetness. This most recent time, I ordered an Iced Uji Matcha Latte with oat milk and buckwheat syrup. I had never seen buckwheat syrup offered at another establishment, so it definitely caught my eye on the menu, and I decided to try it. It was so yummy--earthy, nutty, and sweet. I highly recommend trying it. This place also has a nice ambiance. While it is a bit small, it's a great place to come study, especially if you're alone (they have a wall of little study nooks built for one person). Overall, I'm impressed by Kohiko and look forward to coming back.

Yelp
Alfajores from love croissants Tea time tea time - new drink (please don't ever take this off the menu) Matcha with oat milk brown sugar and banana Service is always on point, beautiful totally inspirational space. AND they have their new space open 2 doors down!!!

Yelp
The Matcha comes unsweetened, it has great color and doesn't get over powered with the ratio of syrup they add. The ginger syrup was a had all the right notes that highlighted their vibrant matcha powder. There is so much natural lighting and the open kitchen is just so inviting and aesthetic. A great matcha cafe to get some work done at. The parking is EXTREMELY limited and indoor seating as well. This place is constantly busy so don't be surprised if you can't get a table inside.

Yelp
Stopped by on a Friday morning and had no trouble finding parking, I scored a spot right out front! I was super excited to try the matcha here. I'd just come back from a trip where I had amazing matcha multiple times, so I was looking for my next good find. I love exploring new coffee shops, and this one looked adorable online, so it was an easy choice. I ordered the Iced Uji Matcha with buckwheat syrup. Heads up: their matcha comes unsweetened, so you'll need to pick a sweetener. Buckwheat wouldn't normally be my go-to, but the barista's description piqued my interest. Taste wise, it reminded me a bit of Honey Nut Cheerios (in a good way!). I didn't hate it, but I'm not sure it was my favorite. I'll probably try the mango flavor next time. To eat, I grabbed the dulce de leche shortbread cookie and the turkey & goat cheese croissant. Both were delicious! The croissant had just the right amount of filling, and the outside had that perfect crispy/soft texture. The ambience was really nice, cozy, modern, and definitely a spot you could hang out in for a bit to work or catch up with a friend. There's a good amount of seating and some pretty cute merch, too. Definitely a solid, aesthetically pleasing vibe. Overall: I had a great experience and will be back to try another matcha flavor. Can't wait to see what the fruit options are like next time!

Yelp
You know a place is good when its constantly a rolling amount of customers within a few minutes. Most of them taking their drinks to go. I typically a little hesitant to trust content creators as they hype up everything without really reviewing it without bias. This time was a success. I went to a coffee house yesterday and it was nothing my liking. This for sure is good quality and the match is rich in flavor. I don't like sweet and the Barnstable helped me out by saying I should try the Buckwheat along side the match. It paired perfectly. Ver light in sweetness level and doesn't take away from the matcha. The bariatas and staff are super nice. The inside is small, but they make good use of the space. They even have little books for those who have to focus on work or school. They have an outdoor patio as well. I. Not used to humidity so I sat at the bar. There's a few chairs here and about two tables inside. One that is a community table amd another that would be good for a small group or family to use. Parking area is small, as there are many other businesses within this complex that seem to drive I. A lot of customers. Overall a good coffee shop. They have coffee for those coffee lovers. I already had a few cups this morning. Wanted something that was refreshing and still gives me that energy.

Yelp
The service and vibes are great in here. I love the open bar and the open windows, which makes for great lighting and atmosphere. You can tell they are very centered around the community and the staff take care of you and your experience. I do love a good matcha, and i've since learned that I enjoy a 50% sweet matcha. I'd say Kohiko definitely knows their craft and you can tell that the matcha source is great, but on the scale of sweetness they are like 10-20%. I'm not complaining, since you can really taste the flavors of the matcha and the flavors added (I enjoyed the Ginger brown sugar), and you can tell it's a real deal matcha. However, I would love if it was slightly sweeter (maybe i'm the problem ...) !

Yelp
Nick has truly created something special here. I love coming here on an early Sunday morning and grabbing a brown sugar latte. The workers are very friendly and the space is good for you to study. It's not very big so I would not recommend bringing a large party (but apparently they're opening up an additional room so you might not have to worry about that.) The baristas are all consistent in terms of making a good, not burnt latte. And it definitely has an industrial/homely feel.
google avatar

Yelp
Great little spot for matcha and lattes! Owner is super knowledgeable about the drinks and sources the matcha directly from Japan. They have very unique flavors and combinations.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is no secret to Houston anymore, and for good reason! This is probably one of the better cafes for a good Hojicha. I've been multiple times now, even though it's quite out of the way for me the drinks are certainly worth the hassle. Their aesthetic is really strong, lending itself to be a great spot for people to come study with a limited outdoor area that might be good for larger groups. It's worth the drive if you're looking for some gooooood drinks.
google avatar

Yelp
Come in to see the interior design. Watch the matcha whisking process. Leave with a great matcha drink to taste. It's a small tea shop. It's a nice set for work / study but try your luck first. Parking is rather limited. There are some 'cubies' for individual sitting, 5-6 chairs facing the matcha making bar, 1 coffee table for 4 and a long table for a bit more. Otherwise, try sitting at their covered patio (?!). There are many choices of matcha style, hot or cold, latte and even sesame style. Or if you want coffee, that's fine too! The staff is really kind at explaining the difference of all. Once on order, you can watch their drink preparation process and I think that's mesmerizing. Hot water is a station, cold water is another, whisking is behind, coffee machine in the other corner. So many steps yet, organized and smooth. Just like that tea. Taste is very matcha so you gotta like it. Not the prepared green drink you'd buy. This place is giving me inspiration for my own dreamy tea/coffee bar at home. A bit far from town but definitely remembering to pass by when I'm in the Sugar Land area! Recommend!
google avatar

Christie L.

Yelp
The ambiance and service was good! We had the almond and chocolate croissant (ask for it to warmed) and it was fluffy and crisp. We also tried all of their matcha specialties series and they were all v good. You can test the matcha in all of them! Theres cute sitting area so it's a perfect place to study - highly recommend if you're in the area.

Yelp
I've heard so many good things about Kohiko's matcha and I had high expectations! I came on a sunday morning and it was packed! There was limited parking and only a couple of seats at their big table available. A lot of my relatives did not know what to get and the barista was super helpful with recommendations according to the taste profile that we described. I got the uji latte with brown sugar. I loved the matcha flavor and felt like it balanced with the milk nicely. My only complaint would be that I couldn't really taste the brown sugar. 8/10 though! My aunt got the uji latte with no syrup and thought it was perfectly bitter and earthy. My cousin and grandma really liked their Okinawa latte too.
google avatar

Angela K.

Yelp
I was super excited to try kohiko after seeing all the hype on social media, but it ended up being so disappointing. I don't even want to say I tried the wrong drink because regardless, the matcha should be good, right? I got the uji homare latte with brown sugar syrup. I paid over $8 for the drink. At a price like that, I'd expect a specialty latte... It was way too milky, and I couldn't even taste the brown sugar syrup. Literally looked like there was only half a pump in there. I just chugged it to finish it, not because I was enjoying it. While there are two different options to choose from for the matcha, I honestly don't think there would have been a distinct difference btwn the two... both would've still just tasted super watered down/milky. At least the service was great, and the interior is nice! However, I won't be back.
google avatar

Iman Z.

Yelp
I loved working at this cafe. I wanted to try something different and the black sesame latte was amazing. Perfect balance of nutty and umami flavors without being too sweet. Would highly recommend trying it out. They have plenty of seating and even an outdoor area. The vibes are perfect if you're looking to get some work done. The only downside is that parking is a little limited. 10/10 would come back!
google avatar

Ashley C.

Yelp
cute cozy little matcha spot. i came here to try as people on social media had been raving about it, saying the matcha was life changing. price isn't bad until you start adding syrups, changing the milk, and making it a latte. i tried the hinata matcha latte with whole milk and lychee syrup. my friend got the uji homare matcha latte with oat milk and vanilla syrup along with moshi moshi. i could definitely tell the difference between the matcha lattes so that was pretty cool. i also loved their variety of syrups and flavors. i couldn't really taste the lychee syrup tho. my friend noted that it wasn't as sweet as she was expecting. i would love to come here again but the price isn't worth it. the service was friendly and helped us walk us through the menu.
google avatar

Peyton H.

Yelp
I love walking into a coffee shop and having baristas make recommendations! This looks like a great place to study, the patio was a nice touch with plenty of seating. I got the Moshi Moshi- light non acidic banana flavor. It was so yummy! My sis got the Vanilla latte, I wish all lattes tasted like their!! I'll definitely be back even though it's 20min away!!
google avatar

Yelp
Came on a Saturday morning around 1030am and the place was pretty much packed already. Keep that in mind if you were meeting a big group here. They do have cubbies hole seating against the wall. Great for those studying. A small love seat and a community table then bar stool seating. Parking can be a bit tricky. Very limited parking in the actual lot only because it is a shared lot with other businesses. Your best bet is going to be street parking. Pastries are delicious. They have sweet and savory croissant and mini ones also. Different selections on matcha and well as non matcha and non caffeine options. Matcha is delicious and can choose your sweetness level. Love the pokemon decor and they have a pokemon stop if you play Pokemon go. They do have outside seating but not sure how it would be in Houston heat.
google avatar

Anh P.

Yelp
I love the vibe here. It's very chill and such a nice hangout/study spot Matcha was so good with a strong nutty note. Staff is nice and friendly.

Yelp
I was so excited when I heard about Kohiko opening as I love their concept which is essentially a Japanese inspired coffee shop. They are located in Sugar Land in a small plaza, there's usually not much parking available and even when I go during the day the coffee shop is pretty much full. I've waited awhile to write this review because I wanted to give them another chance and to try more drinks. So far I've tried the: Okinawa Latte Moshi Moshi Kohi Momo Matcha Latte Unfortunately, while I love the idea behind these drinks I find that their espresso and matcha both seem to be watered down to me. I'm not sure if it's because they use smaller pebble ice or for another reason but I just don't get that stronger coffee taste that I prefer in my lattes. Overall, I wouldn't be opposed to coming back since I work in the area and have found myself returning when I see a new drink on their menu, hoping this is the one that I"ll love. But it's not my first choice in general
google avatar

Harris N.

Yelp
Ambiance is really pretty, and relaxed. I love the Japanese inspired venue and feel this place is a must for coffee lovers around this side of town. I like the outside sitting area too which I spent time with friends catching up on our lives. Definitely would come back here. Oh, and try their matcha drinks (my favorite)!
google avatar

Brandon D.

Yelp
I went to a pop up and they happened to have a Kohiko popup inside as well. I decided to try it since I've never been to Kohiko before. They only had 3 options, I chose the regular matcha latte and added vanilla as a sweetener. This is the most expensive matcha I've ever had in Houston so far. I didn't like how they had a hidden $1 latte fee when the menu with the price has the word "latte" in it already. The color looked promising though and I was excited to try it. The first half of my drink just tasted like vanilla and when I got to the second half of my drink it just tasted like unsweetened matcha. I was pretty disappointed with this. Their lid had double slits so it was really hard to move the straw around to mix the drink, but I suppose it was my fault for now fully mixing it. Kohiko is far though so I probably won't go back again, and it is very pricey
google avatar

Tiffany M.

Yelp
I've been drinking matcha for several years now, and now with the current matcha craze it's hard to find actually good matcha. Also can we please stop putting concoctions in our matcha!?! Rant over, matcha 10/10 at Kohiko I specifically order the matcha cortado it's equal parts matcha and milk. It only comes hot and I do not add any sweetener. The service is fast and the baristas are friendly. The place is usually packed but they have lots of seating indoor and outdoor. It's a great place to work/study and also meet up with friends. Definitely on my match rotation!
google avatar

Carina H.

Yelp
I got this order to go, so I can't speak much about the coffee house's ambiance or service, but the Orchard in Bloom was exactly what I was looking for in a drink. While I didn't get much of the osmanthus, I loved the nostalgic taste of the apple cider flavor. The Biscoff coffee paired well with it.
google avatar

Khánh P.

Yelp
This place is cute but the drink is not my type The matcha is too bland. Maybe I should ask for extra sweet?! And the price is overprice for me. My drink was cost around 9$ and for my opinion it's not worth it.
google avatar

David P.

Yelp
Nut allergy friendly - flavors say "nutty" but the drinks are not actually made with nuts except for their Seion drink that has almond paste. Parking is interesting here - a lot of people just parallel park along the curb. We arrived at around 4:30PM near their closing time and got our drinks within 6 minutes of ordering, with about 3-4 people ahead of us. It seems like quite a popular spot for people to work and study, as there are a few single-seat desks in the corner of the shop. Their croissants are delicious (from Love Croissants). The small ones are exceptionally flaky and they serve them nice and hot. Happy hour nearer to closing, which makes them half off with a drink order. I got the moshi moshi recommended drink. The hints of banana definitely come through. It was a tad sweet for me (I believe they mention that they use 20g of simple syrup, and you can definitely see them performing measurements while they make drinks). It is an expensive drink (around $8 for a 12oz matcha) but the care and quality put into it is clear. It's far from main Houston but I'd definitely recommend it to anyone that happens to be in the Sugar Land area.
google avatar

Frank C.

Yelp
$8 drink + $1 oat milk + $1 tip = $10 drink I ordered a matcha latte with oat milk and black sesame syrup. I asked for light ice and this was the drink I got prior to drinking it. I think it's pretty shocking to receive a 1/4 less of a drink from an already small cup to begin with. The matcha flavor wasn't fragrant, the syrup was a bit too sweet and over powered the black sesame flavor. I see this place all over social media with great review. Sad to say it was pretty overhyped and was disappointed with the drink. I've had much better matcha elsewhere for half the price.
google avatar

Kimberly D.

Yelp
Was visiting SugarLand for a wedding and stumbled upon this place! I ordered 2 drinks the moshi moshi and the Houjicoco. Idk why I was thrown off that there was coffee in the moshi moshi bc I was expecting more matcha-y lol, wasn't a huge fan of the artificial banana flavoring tho. Their descriptions of the drink is exactly what it was as far as taste and mouthfeel!
google avatar

AJ H.

Yelp
Friendly staff, good environment to work and study. Limited parking, but they do put really unique types of coffees and matcha for sale. Pro tip, just park in the lot next door or street parking in the neighborhood
google avatar

Tabitha H.

Yelp
Kohiko is a clean and inviting café with a nice atmosphere for working or studying. They offer free Wi-Fi, and I saw quite a few people set up with their laptops. The café also has a parking lot. I ordered the Okinawa Latte, and while it was good, it was also on the pricey side - $7.31 after tax. There's only one drink size which is 8oz. Overall, it's a nice spot, but the price point might make it more of an occasional treat rather than a regular go-to.
google avatar

Jenny G.

Yelp
I highly recommend the Okinawa latte. It has the perfect amount of sweetness. The place was packed on a weekday morning but service was quick and everything was clean.
google avatar

Kristen P.

Yelp
Love love love Kohiko! I usually get an iced matcha which runs about $7. The tea is very high quality and tastes unlike any other matchas I've had. The staff are very knowledgeable and can answer any questions or make recommendations too. They also have study pods which is nice if you need to focus and not be distracted by other people. I will mention that they usually get pretty busy and sometimes it's hard to find a seat, so I wouldn't recommend it for a meeting with a large group of friends.
google avatar

Daniel T.

Yelp
A bit overrated in my opinion. Like some of the other reviews, I think it's worth checking out this place, but it doesn't exactly blow me away. A few cons right off the bat - the parking in the plaza here is extremely limited and the seating space is also very limited. If you're trying to study out of this cafe there's only a few private booths. The drink flavors definitely are pretty unique and the service was very friendly as expected. I tried the Okinawa latte and the Moshi Moshi. You can definitely taste the banana in the Moshi Moshi and the seasame in the Okinawa latte, but surprisingly, they both tasted a little underwhelming to me. I didn't get the bold taste of espresso in either drink and the banana in the Moshi Moshi was lacking a ton. It almost tasted as if the drinks were watered down a bit. The sesame taste in the Okinawa latte is defnitely stronger and sweeter, so I liked the Okinawa latte over the Moshi Moshi, even though on paper the Moshi Moshi sounded better. Aside from that, I don't think I'd ever be a regular here because of the limited parking and seating space and the drinks tasted mid to me.
google avatar

Sandra Y.

Yelp
I got the matcha tonic and it was nice and refreshing. I like that they don't add syrup or sweetener but you can taste the matcha. There were a good amount of seating and people either studying or doing work and it's in a convenient plaza with plenty of parking.

Yelp
Had to try the new and popular coffee place in southwest Houston and I felt like this place lived up to the hype. This cute Japanese style coffee house was in a small shopping center and didn't have much to be flashy about on the outside hut stepping inside, there was a beautiful and clean ambiance. I loved the clean lines, the warmth of the soft wood accents, and the varied seating options from single cubicles, to a group table, to the bar, or even a couch. The drinks were also quite special. They of course have your typical coffee house menu but they have their own specialty which I highly recommend. The one thing that wasn't my favorite was that parking was limited. I lucked out with a parking spot but not sure where others after me parked.

Yelp
Tried to visit their opening week missed it! So excited to finally come by and see it. Super super cute inside with plenty of seating (some outside as well). I love the little desk nooks for doing work! Such a good idea for a coffee shop. It was clean inside and the staff were so pleasant and welcoming!! I ordered the Okinawa latte and really enjoyed it. It was a really good latte in general and was super smooth. The sesame flavor was light and a nice touch. But personally I love black sesame and would've loved it to be stronger and more of the main flavor. The only issue is not a lot of parking (some of it is for nearby businesses only). And some of their parking is only for 15 minutes. Luckily there is a bunch of stores and giant public parking around the corner if you ever need to find a spot. Hope to visit again soon!

Yelp

Yelp
I was in the area one day and I am so glad that I stumbled upon this place! I needed a place to study, I like matcha, what a perfect combination of the two! I have been here 3-4 times and also participated in their popup with Moneycat last month as well (: Everyone was so helpful in explaining the different drinks, flavors, and they were all very knowledgeable about the matcha that they use. I have gotten the regular iced matcha with brown sugar syrup, matcha with black sesame, OC Nikkei, and the Moshi Moshi. Out of all of them, I really liked the iced matcha latte with black sesame syrup! I would describe the flavor as nutty (kinda like peanut butter) and it goes really well with the matcha. The OC and Moshi had matcha and espresso and the only reason I didn't like it as much (although very good and unique!!) was because I am sensitive to caffeine and the double caffeine from the matcha and espresso was overkill for me. However, I know that a lot of people like these two very much! Whenever I am able to get a seat, I am able to study comfortably for a few hours. The internet is reliable, fast and even with a lot of people also working on their laptops, the internet never crashes. A very comfortable place to hang out and/or study as this is a nice, cozy, and aesthetic place to be. Definitely recommend this place if you are in the sugarland area!

Yelp
A local friend told me about this place and raved about the drinks. The ambiance was very relaxed and the space is designed with working spaces and casual sit-in spots. I went with the Houjicoco which had a nice light not too sweet. The barista's recommendation was super helpful and was friendly. My husband also thoroughly enjoyed the drip coffee as well.

Yelp
Moshi moshi would have to be my favorite drink from this beautiful Japanese coffee shop. They have such a great staff and customer service. I'm always greeted upon entering the door and staff always gives their recommendations on what to order. It took no longer than 5 minutes to get my drink. Will def come back when I'm in the area. If you like matcha, definitely come here and give it a try!

Yelp
Our first time...needed an espresso drink. Very welcoming vibe, calming music in the background, pleasant, patient, & helpful staff. Met the owner Nic, very nice! He was brewing tea, very authentic! Lots of great options and custom made drinks available. Got a latte and matcha latte to get the original flavors. Not disappointed at all, very balanced taste. Will definitely be back to try one of the specialties.

Yelp
To start with, the banana syrup flavored matcha was PHENOMENAL. I loved every bit of the drink, truly. The match itself was amazing! The young male taking my order was kind and welcoming. I ordered a matcha latte, a vanilla iced coffee, and together my total was around 16 dollars, with a 2 dollar gratuity. I would say it's a little bit pricey and that was with me adding just one flavor to each of the drinks, also not changing the milk (which would have increased the price). It was my first visit and I would go back for the matcha. Unfortunately, when it came down to the iced coffee, the girl who I watched make the coffee did not fill it up nearly to the top of the cup with an obvious amount missing. I would have appreciated at least a little bit of more milk if anything. I think this bothered me so much because I work in the food industry as well, and would have went back to fill it fully, especially considering the price this cafe charges. This usually isn't a problem because most times it isn't intentionally done, but as someone with discernment and social cues, I could tell it was intentional. That young lady in particular was not welcoming. The matcha, on the other hand, was filled fully and made by a separate girl. Additionally, the vibe and ambiance of the store is very warm and cozy. It's definitely a nice place to work/study at. Overall, I would have been pleased with more friendly service and better tasting coffee, considering this location is trending on social media and perception is everything nowadays.

Yelp
This is a cute college hangout. Service was quick and kind but a regular matcha latte that starts at $6.75 ended up at $10 when you get the oat milk $1, add a sweetener $1, and get iced $1, and wasn't even filled up. I came looking for a strawberry matcha and sadly they don't have one.

Yelp
Love this new coffee spot in Sugar Land. The interiors were modern and simple. Very chill atmosphere for studying or getting some work done. They have individual booth if you want your own space. Also love the Pokémon plushies scattered around for decor. The staff were friendly and service was pretty quick. I tried the matcha latte and the moshi moshi. Also added some brown sugar because I like mine on the sweeter side. The quality was solid and the matcha was my favorite. Would definitely stop by when I'm in Sugar Land. Hope they open more locations in the future.

Yelp
This is such a cute coffee shop to get some good quality coffee or matcha drink. My husband got the Okinawan latte, & I got a matcha latte. Both were delicious, as it was perfectly subtly sweet. The staff are very nice and professional as well. Happy to stop by here again when we're in Houston.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped here for a cup of coffee after lunch. We tried the matcha seion (sweet and creamy) and houjicoco (unique taste). I'm not a big matcha fan so I was surprised that I liked the seion drink. The houjicoco was quite different. It's kind of hard to explain it. It was kind of smokey and nutty. It definitely gave that toasty like flavor. The staff were nice and spoke loud and clearly . This place was filled with a lot of people studying or working, even on a Sunday. There's also an outdoor area and a few private booth desk seats. The parking is free and out front.

Yelp
My friend and I visited Kohiko Coffee House to get some work done and it did not disappoint! My friend frequently visits Kohiko and she told me all about the calming vibes and yummy drinks. I'm so glad we went with her recommendation for this productive hangout! I got the Moshi Moshi drink which was essentially matcha and espresso, made magical by banana and ginger brown sugar. I had to consciously make the decision to not slurp it down in one gulp! Such a great drink! As someone who loves matcha and coffee, the Moshi Moshi was truly the best of both worlds. Also, the ambiance of the coffee house was perfect for a productive morning with a friend. People are talking inside but the noise level is low (my optimal work environment). We felt comfortable talking to each other, but we weren't the only ones quietly plugging away on our computers. The baristas were kind and friendly. And as a lover of Pop Mart and all things nerdy/fandom, I loved the decor! Such a well-kept space that screams comfort and modern warmth. Definitely going to add this to my coffee shop rotation. Highly recommend!
