Kohr Brothers Frozen Custard

I’ve been to this location several times in the last couple weeks now and the product is always the same, great! Occasionally the young staff is a little preoccupied with their phones or being distracted by other staff. But it doesn’t really affect their speed or friendliness to the customers.

Stopped here for frozen custard most days of my vacation in ocean city! The custard is so good and refreshing! They have a nice selection of regular flavors, seasonal flavors and twists. As a heads up, the three different locations on the boardwalk can have different flavors so if you’re looking for something in particular it might be worth checking out the other spots. I’m usually a chocolate fan but I think the vanilla and organize sherbet swirl was my favorite!

Delicious soft serve here with extremely long lines!! It was worth the wait and they have so many different toppings to add to their delicious flavors of soft serve:) They also had a extremely sweet staff!!

Main thing I wish they would change is to be more accommodating for customers with allergies. People with nut allergies can't safely get toppings like sprinkles here because they dunk all the nut flavored ice cream into the same tub of sprinkles as the chocolate, coffee, etc.. Prices have also increased significantly. Great ice cream that I have loved since I was a kid, but $7 for a regular cone is tough.

Came here while visiting Ocean City, NJ, this ice cream is amazing! I had a peanut butter soft served with Jimmy's on it. It was delicious!

It's an absolute favorite every summer. The frozen custard here is amazing, and the price is really good. It's perfect for a hot summer day to have a frozen custard. Plan on waiting in line though, because there always is one.

They have many in the north. So not much of a difference down here. This was only soft serve tho. Which I was a little upset . Service was fast and enjoyed….

Kohr Brothers is a tradition when we come to OCNJ. Their custard is on the pricey side, but it's absolutely delicious. We always make sure to stop by at least once. There are several locations along the boardwalk, so if one of them is busy you can just walk a few blocks and you'll find another.

MY FAVORITE ICE CREAM - well, custard, on the boards by far! We got the chocolate peanut butter - mine, with chocolate sprinkles - of course! Dense & delicious. Supposedly low fat, but come on - I think it's like that one Seinfeld episode!!! ;) Cash or credit.

This is my go to for soft serve ice cream on the boardwalk. Staff are usually friendly and don't mess your order up . The ice cream is all ways good and the cones are fresh and not stale tasting. It looks clean inside from what I can see . Although I do like my dipping dots Kohr Bros is the kind of cones.

Good product and service and price. I plan to go back to Ocean City boardwalk and have another ice cream cone as soon as I can.The flavors were fine

I love Kohr's ice cream, especially when it is available on a boardwalk. The location in Ocean City NJ is no exception. The ice cream is excellent, the best soft ice cream available in my opinion. Their vanilla and orange sherbet is one of my favorites. My only knock is that a small cone is approx $5, a bit out of line. Other than that it's perfect.

An Ocean City tradition! There is nothing better than the orange vanilla twist cone on a sunny summer day! I always have to grab one when I'm on the boards! The lines can sometimes get very long but it's worth the wait! A must have if you haven't already tried it!

They offer good soft serve at a decent price, with very friendly service. The large size is quite large and sprinkles were added liberally. And I appreciate that the history of this chain goes back to creating this product. But some expectation management is in order for Midwesterners: having experienced many richer frozen custards in Wisconsin and Missouri, I was a bit let down that this version apparently uses a different serving style, yielding a consistency more Carvel soft serve than Ted Drewes concrete.

I am torn between 3 and 4 stars, it's more like 3 and a half. I have ended up in Ocean City during several heat waves. When it is really hot I always have a Kohr brothers frozen custard. Peanut butter is my favroite flavor. But for me it is all about the texture and not the flavor. The flavors are a little muted. But it is still creamy and delicious!

The wonderland pier has a smaller offering with only vanilla, chocolate, and orange creamsicle machines BUT it's still the greatest custard on the boardwalk. I will eat this til I die.

I definitely enjoy going to Kohr Bros every time I go to the boardwalk in OC. I love ice cream and honestly the sucky part about going to any other boardwalk is that I always crave for Kohr Bros?! They have a decent flavor selection and what's great is that they give you a lot of ice cream for your money. The counter is also really clean and they have a napkin dispenser on both sides of the counter for the messy eaters, which is really convenient, I noticed that other eateries hide their napkins so when customers need it they have to ask for them. Anywho...need I say more? Ice cream, clean and friendly! What else can you ask for?

There are tons of little ice-cream, sno cone, water-ice and other frozen novelties for sale on the Boardwalk. In my opinion the best is the old-fashioned favorite Kohr Brothers soft ice-cream. It is the creamiest, tastiest soft serve ice-cream around. I prefer the vanilla twist with rainbow jimmies (sprinkles.) Everyone loves soft-serve, but there is something really different about Kohr Bros. Once you've had it, you'll never be able to go without it again, kinda like crack.

I wish they had frozen custard in California!!!! I got mint and chocolate swirled in a cone, I could eat this every day if it didn't effect my waistline haha! I would say this is better than frozen yogurt!

The best custard ever. Been coming here Gor 40 years. Recommend the orange sherbet and vanilla cone.

The best frozen custard I've had & better than Rita's! There are a couple locations on the boardwalk so even though this review is specific to this address, this review really compliments all the locations. They have different combinations, and if you are peanutbutter fan like me, you really need to try their custard! You can get plain peanutbutter or chocolate/pb twist! I would drive an hour for the icecream. There are other flavor combinations which I would have to say are very good as well. Ask for a free sample before buying too! Enjoy!

There is nothing else out there like Kohrs ice cream. I recommend the vanilla and orange twist. It's always a must have when going to the shore and has become a family tradition.

Kohr Bros is a pretty good place if you like soft serve ice cream. A bit pricey. I prefer hand dipped ice cream. If you prefer soft serve then this place is commendable.

The Dulche de Leche (available at one location, I think the one closest to Shrivers) is fantastic!

Good stuff. Grab a cone, twist two flavors together and add some sprinkles. No complaints. I am sucker for sprinkles...just the kid in me I guess. The texture is perfectly smooth and the taste is rich no matter what flavor you get. They a few flavors outside the typical chocolate vanilla soft serve like orange sherbert (great swirled with vanilla for that creamsicle taste), strawberry, banana, mint, coffee, etc. and the ever delicious peanut butter. In addition to sprinkles or Jimmies (rainbow or the chocolate kind) they have the chocolate shell dip too for that added sugar bonus on top. The cone option is the only way to go as far as I am concerned, but eat fast as the portions are big and on a hot night, the stuff melts quickly. Unless of course you can lick from your elbow to your fingers. There are multiple locations on the OC boardwalk and throughout the shore. But I always seem to get Kohr Bros. while on the boardwalk.

There are several locations on the boardwalk. They have many flavors. I had a swirled cone with sprinkles. Expensive at $6 but that's the boardwalk. It tasted OK and I enjoyed it.

In search of a tasty frozen treat down in Ocean City, I got myself a vanilla/orange twist at the well-reviewed Kohr Bros. I was a bit underwhelmed...the custard had a good creaminess to it, but the orange flavor had an artificiality to it that dropped my score down a notch.

Kohr Brothers' custard is the ultimate Ocean City boardwalk food! A trip down to Ocean City was a yearly vacation when I was a kid, and Kohrs was the only game in town when it came to dessert. Anyone can serve passable frozen custard. The Kohrs' is delicous, and the real beauty is in the combinations. They will combine different flavors every day to give you different choices of swirls (ie. chocolate/mint, vanilla/strawberry, lemon/lime). The story of the Kohr Brothers opening their first store on Coney Island in the 1910's and selling tens of thousands, possibly millions of cones, in the first two days, is legendary. They use all natural ingredients, and though it's not health food, you could do much worse than custard. A classic. They're all along the boardwalk.

There are five locations on the boardwalk. We had them all. All consistent and delicious. If you visit the Ocean City Boardwalk - it should be a must. Ice cream was excellent. If the line is long at one location try another.

I heart this frozen custard. I'm not sure why their stuff is the best, but it is. My favorite flavor is the chocolate and peanut butter twist. Yum yum yum. So why am I not giving this place 5 stars? The cones can't handle the amount of ice cream in them. They might as well give me the ice cream in a rolled up piece of paper and hope doesn't disintegrate by the end. Also, the price. It's not like I'm getting 52 toppings, why does it cost $4.50? I can imagine the hesitancy for parents with a slew of kids. $4.50 can add up quick.

Mack & Manco's for dinner... Kohr Bros for dessert... and rides at Wonderland PIer. Something tells me we aren't the only ones that have this tradition during summers in Ocean City. I have no idea what the differences is between frozen custard & soft-serve ice cream, but whatever Kohr Bros is serving up is perfect on a warm summer day on the boardwalk. Classic chocolate... or my latest favorite, the orange sherbet (on its own or swirled with vanilla for nostalgic creamsicle goodness)

A shore tradition. The best frozen custard in Ocean City. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Every time I am down at Ocean City I stop in for a Kohr's custard. I have been coming to Ocean City for 52 years and always love getting a huge cone on the boardwalk. The vanilla custard is my favorite.

Baby and I always have to go to Kohr brothers for custard. Again, here is another example where she says 4 or 5 b/c of her history with the place. For me, I say 3. It's just fine.

I had a hard time debating whether to get Kohr Bros or to get George's homemade ice cream. But finally, being the tourist I was, i had to go with the more famous one. Because I'm kinda obsessed with waffle cones, I got the vanilla Waffle Cone, which made the whole cone + custard approximately the size of head. On a very hot day on the boardwalk, the custard melted very very fast. It was very delicious and made me satisfied to no end. The reason that I didn't give it five stars is because it just taste like soft serve. It doesn't taste any different or have a 'distinct/unique' flavor of frozen custard, which was what I was kind of looking for. It was also slightly pricey. The waffle cone cost me $6.00. Whereas anywhere else it would have been at least a buck cheaper. Having said that, it is wonderfully soft serve that is pretty natural in its ingredients. It wasn't too sugary, and even after a huge waffle cone custard, I wasn't exactly dying from fullness, I was very content. I would recommend it! p.s. Make sure to ask for small samples to help you choose from the flavors!

Another Ocean City must-eat and staple of my childhood. I usually get orange/vanilla, but this time I tried chocolate/mint. It was awesome as usual. Would eat again.

Not paying 5, 6, 7 dollars for plain custard. Joke's on you if you do! Good thing they accept credit cards at this racket!

I dont know how I cant give this place 5 stars when I literally ate it 3 times a day when we were down the shore this summer. Got every flavor and I wish they had it out here in CA.

Even though we live in Wisconsin (the world capital of frozen custard) I STILL look forward to Kohr's peanut butter and chocolate twist every summer. Warning: the small cone is quite large! Like everything else on the boardwalk it is relatively pricey -- about four and a half dollars for a cone.

So delicious I could eat it everyday! I recommend peanut butter and chocolate swirl! It's also delish when they dip in chocolate or sprinkles. Even plain old vanilla and chocolate swirl is amazing!

Kohr Bros. is famous for their custard and it should be. Two boardwalk locations and they always are ready to serve fresh, delicious custard.
