I've driven past this place several times both before and after they opened and finally decided to try them. I've heard of them before from a friend who had been either to their other location or a food truck. I was just thinking it was going to be an asian restaurant, but I was completely wrong.
When you walk in, the place looks pretty plain - the graphic art is really cool, but there's still a little bit too much white. Add an accent wall or something, guys!! The menu is off to your right, and here is where I was confused -- tacos... burritos... cheese-steak... this isn't asian! Then I noticed the ingredients and was intrigued.
I ended up ordering the cheesesteak with the bulgogi beef and man was it good. The staff helped me choose between the short rib and the beef (you choose your meat and sauce heat), and I chose correctly (though I tried the short rib in my husbands burrito and it was also fantastic). The cheesesteak was totally not what I was expecting -- wasabi mayo, kimchi, beef, onions, peppers, cheese - bursting with flavor and tender, flavorful meat. My only complaint was that there was so much flavor and juices that the sandwich fell apart - but I didn't really care, because I still ended up eating every bite. I got the mild sauce and it had a kick to it to the point that I still had like 3 cups of water, but I'm also a weenie. If you don't like spice at all, this might not be for you. My husband got the short-rib burrito and was also super impressed. He got hot sauce and said it was the perfect temperature. We also got the chips and medium salsa and again, the salsa was not at all what we were expecting but it was still really good.
I'll admit that I haven't had a lot of korean food, so I'm not quite the best judge of if it was authentic or "great" for korean food, but I do know that I'm a pretty picky eater and I managed to down my entire sandwich without complaint. I'd definitely come back. And the tacos were 2.75 a pop -- hell yeah!
