Love the feel of this place. The decor and lighting is relaxing and cultural. The food was amazing. I have eaten a lot of sushi but the combinations of flavors she the ingredients were nothing I have ever seen. The orchid roll was so tasty with the raspberry sauce. The pacific roll was delicious too with the scallops on top and eel sauce set it off. The fruit roll was absolutely amazing the combination of fruits with the rice and avocado with the raspberry sauce was the perfect ending. The service was outstanding as well. He waitress was very welcoming and friendly. Definitely recommend this place.

Google
Quiet hideaway in walking distance from St Thomas. Saved my sanity today (hubby in hospital) with tuna tatarre, cold wine, & miso soup that'll cure ANYTHING. I was very comfortable as a single diner. Attentive, but non-intrusive waiters, & delicious food.

The cowboy sushi roll is delicious! The pho is made with love -wonderful flavor! I really enjoyed this experience!

Google
Delicious! I got the sushi and a ramen bowl. My only mistake was not realizing how much food they were going to bring me. I could not finish everything. Which was disappointing because the food was so good.

Google
The food here is delicious. They have a lot of options from countless rolls to fried rice and noodles. It comes out quickly and they always make it look beautiful. The staff is also incredibly friendly and very attentive. It's never been super busy inside when I've gone. they have sports playing on the TVs and calm music. It's pretty dark inside, but they have light up menus. You can validate your parking for the garage behind or find street parking nearby. Overall I love this place and highly recommend

Google
This has to be my favorite sushi place by far. We have visited multiple times while on vacation visiting friends in town. We always make it a point to go here at least one time during our long weekend. The sushi rolls are very original, with very unique flavors. There is always a variety of ingedients that seem to blend in a very mild but rich tasting fashion. On top of that, the roles are huge so you will not go hungry. The staff always takes good care of us Canon Shores that everybody has a good time.

Google
It was good restaurant and I spent great time. I had Panag Curry and it became my favorite. It had many vegetables and coconut based. My friend ordered Beef Pho and it was also delicious. The server said they run same restaurants somewhere in Nashville.

Google
I go to the Midtown location probably once every week and a half on average. The staff, food, and consistency are what keeps me coming back. My photos are from several visits over the last month. Pictured are the Massaman Curry with shrimp and the Shrimp Pad Thai. Those are my two main favorites but I have had plenty of other dishes over the years but I always come back to one of those. The sushi is excellent, the bartender is a cool guy and I like that everyone knows me, including my name! It's my favorite place to go for Thai food in town, for sure. Plus, free parking 🅿️ is a Nashville "luxury" and cannot be beat.

Yelp
came for sashimi only, super fresh and delicious. Service was great and ambiance is chill- will be back !

Yelp
Stopped in for a first visit. Service was generally good, but the interaction felt off--asked the server what she recommended and got a quick "pad thai" before she walked off. Not rude, just...awkward. Went with the pad thai. It was mid at best. This is someone who's worked in a Thai restaursnt before and had authetic dishes in Thailand. Noodles were cooked right, but the flavor didn't hit. Lack of sauce. Slightly sweet, slightly salty, but nothing that stood out. No depth, no kick. If that's the go-to dish here, I'm not rushing back for the rest of the menu. Atmosphere was casual, clean, and the food came out fast. Might be a decent spot for a quick bite, but not one I'd recommend if you're chasing standout Thai.

Yelp
We were in Nashville for a sporting event, we were lucky to stay in an area very close to many restaurants. We found this spot after a quick search. It's located right on Elliston near several hotels. When we first entered the restaurant is very dark, and wasn't too crowded. The menus light up, which the kids thought was pretty cool. Even better, they had happy hour pricing on food and drinks on a Saturday! We ordered several happy hours appetizers including edamame, California roll, gyoza, shrimp roll, spicy tuna, and spicy crab roll. All about $5-6 each. For mains, we ordered the pho and Seasame chicken. Everything arrived extremely quickly! The pho portion was huge and very good! The Seasame chicken was also a big portion and was shared with several people. Overall we had a great experience and will be back next time we're in town!

Yelp
Very well done! The smoked salmon nigiri is on point! Service was decent. The way the dining are is set up is very nice. Love the ambiance of the place.

Yelp
it was my second time here, but this time, I tried their Thai food instead of the sushi. I had chicken satay skewers and the pad thai. both of these were pretty average in my opinion. The dishes had decent flavor, but certainly not the best I've had in Nashville. I probably would opt for a different Thai place in the future, but it's not a bad place for a quick meal.
google avatar

Yelp
Diner here for dinner bring it was in walking distance of our air bnb. They have a very large selection of sushi rolls. I ordered a roll with lobster and it was topped with fried snapper. I ordered a drink that was a lychee ginger martini. I didn't taste the ginger much at all. It was good but just didn't taste the ginger.

Yelp
Visited Koi due to an Offline offer and was really pleasantly surprised. They have an expansive menu (which I know is to try to ensure maybe those with a preference for fusion have options too), but it's almost too big. Either way, at the time I was doing a gluten free diet and they had several options for me which was a huge relief! All of our food was served quickly and was hot which was great for me as I am big on temperature. Everything was tasty and great portion size. We'll be back to try more of the menu. Attentive service, quiet atmosphere. Definitely check them out.
google avatar

Yelp
Koi is a casual dining place with a rustic atmosphere. Server was very friendly and quick to make great recommendations that I am thoroughly enjoying. My meal tonight is edamame in garlic sauce, ginger salad and basil salmon. All topped off with a huge mango margarita! My menu items are large in proportion and tasty. Two people could easily share a meal, all priced reasonably. This my first time in and will definitely try the sushi menu on my return. I highly recommend you check out this restaurant!

Yelp
The food was incredible, I got the Honolulu Roll and my friend got the Hawaiian. They were both delicious!! We also split the fruit roll, I'd definitely recommend it was similar to mango sticky rice and was just like a fruit dessert. The staff was really friendly and the atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. I'll definitely come back.

Yelp
Everything was amazing! I've had a lot of sushi and being from south Florida this is the freshest sushi I have had since leaving. The staff was so sweet and the restaurant was really cute and clean. The volcano roll was huge! Definitely recommend.

Carol M.

Yelp
I am in town due to my husband being in the hospital. My daughter and I had a chance to get away for a few minutes so we ate here. Right off the bat, I knew it would not be a good experience because when I opened my napkin, it was dirty. My daughter asked if she could get her sushi without avocado and cucumber. She was told yes. She was served sushi WITH avocado and cucumber. I chose between 2 dishes. One had 3 shrimp tempura and the other had 5. My dish had 2. The server decided to tell me AFTER she served me. We live out of state, but may be in Nashville on a regular basis. Unfortunately, I will not eat here again.
google avatar

Jaime W.

Yelp
The service was great. As far as ambience, it's a casual and small place. We went in for lunch. The food was just OK. One of us got a bento box with teriyaki chicken and shrimp tempura. The teriyaki sauce was very salty and it wasn't mentioned on the menu there were mushrooms in the chicken teriyaki. One person got Sushi and thought it was good but not great. Chicken lo mein was OK, not amazing. Gyoza was good, the sauce was basic. For the price, we probably won't come back as it wasn't fantastic, but it was alright.
google avatar

Andrew K.

Yelp
If you've ever had Sushi before, this deserves only 1-star. Sushi rice is terrible, bad quality no flavor of rice vinegar as it's the key ingredient to prepare. Like munching plain white rice. We're here for REAL Japanese Sushi not plain white rice "cake". No second chance.
google avatar

Stephen L.

Yelp
We ate at the bar. Me and my best mate ! We ordered vodka waters ! A great pour. The vibe in there is killer! It's location is amazing ! We had the gyoza - and it was better than most places - we also got the king scorpion and super crunch roll !! Sooooo goooooddd ! We added cream cheese ! Forgot to do lite rice but Still wasn't too much rice - our bartender/ waiter was cool AF and we totally love this new location ! Can't wait to go back ! And they don't take off from 2:30-4:30pm like all the other places. So that's nice !
google avatar

Yelp
Koi is a casual dining experience. I went to use an Offline offer. Upon walking in, I was caught off guard with how empty it was but it was peaceful and the service was great! The food was generally good but wasn't anything that knocked me off my feet. The sauce in the main dish was missing something. I'll go back but will need to try something different. The sashimi was good but you can't quite mess that up!
google avatar

Patrick Z.

Yelp
I had been visiting the uptown Nashville area for about a year for a project. We stopped by Koi several times while staying in the area and had always been quite happy with the service, ambiance, and the food. The restaurant was never super busy when we were there, but there were always at least a handful of tables occupied. They had TVs on over the bar if you were interested in watching whatever sports were on. It wasn't dark, but it wasn't bright either. Kind of "loungey." Between my sushi-loving colleague and I, we would get a few rolls and a couple orders of sashimi/nigri/handrolls and were always very happy with the size of the roll, the freshness, and ratio of fish to rice to veggies. This may not be a super fancy sushi joint that you would take a first date on, but it was our go-to for over a year while staying nearby. I'll be back for sure next time I'm in town!
google avatar

Amy P.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the pad Thai! While the restaurant didn't get our online order so it took longer to get our food, it was very tasty! Also the portion was large! I will say, it was spicier than I expected. I'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Cara H.

Yelp
This is disgustingly. Just picked up this salad and it's brown and wet. I so grossed out I am not sure I want to eat my sushi.
google avatar

Lisa M.

Yelp
Food was good. Server was kind of snippy and didn't really let you ask questions. It's like "order and get On with it."Asked to add an egg to pho and it was a flat no. But you can have it with udon. Makes no sense. Sweet and sour chicken was just chicken and a side of sauce...But it was good food. I just feel if you have a lot of questions and are new to ordering- you may need to research the menu before you go. I feel Like it's not the best service.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
Nice daddy. - daughter night . Server was so sweet. Great portion for noodles . We liked the cherry blossom roll . Will have to get sashimi next time. Had a nice bar area. Would come back

Lea R.

Yelp
As "out of towners" we are so happy we chose this restaurant. From the fresh rolls, to soup and sushi all the food was delicious. Shrimp Tom YuYum was the best we have had. Wait staff was attenative and asked each table if the food was good to them and if they were enjoying it. Would 10/10 recommend.

Yelp
Decided to try this place for lunch and so far it's amazing! This is in the old Ihop location and showed up on nashville.eater at some point. It is not in anyway related to the other place by the same name on the other side of town. Had the Chengdu Spicy Beef (right? Who even has that on a menu?) and Chicken Satay. Satay was delicious but the Chengdu beef was amazing! Perfect portion size for a lunch as well, and no skimping on the protein. Also the spring roll was great, and no little packet of manufactured sauce, it appears to be made in house and is delicious. I can't believe this place hasn't been reviewed yet, but I'll continue to add pics as I eat my way through the menu!
google avatar

Sofia Q.

Yelp
Solid place with quick service and large portion sizes. This may be the largest nigiri I've ever eaten. This place is on the pricier side for average sushi and Thai but you get what you pay for in terms of portion size. Everything was good but wasn't particularly blown away by anything in particular.
google avatar

Mia L.

Yelp
If you want amazing sushi and service, Koi Sushi & Thai in Midtown has the most amazing everything and the service is a DREAM. Honestly, it's a ball and a biscuit to eat sushi anywhere on this little street in the West End. But you cannot beat a happy hour here. The chefs have put in years and their presentation is always a work of art. The wait staff will love you for your respect and appreciation of the places they have been and what life has brought you to the table. I'm glad hearted and happy kitten when u come with me to Koi -- so don't be a joker! Get your own.

Alexys B.

Yelp
All the food was overcooked and tasted like dishwater. Nothing was as expected and the peanut chicken was actually inedible.

Yelp
Average food with suck service and mandatory 20% 'gratitude' fee. Will never come to this place!

Yelp
Food is always fantastic. Drinks are mixed well, low lighting helps the relaxation of the dinner. 15/10

Yelp
SCAM ARTISTS! I called in an order based on the prices I saw online. I ordered 5 rolls total off of the menu on their official website. I ordered 3 Fuji rolls ($9.95 online), Honolulu ($13.95 online) and Lobster roll ($15.95 online). I go in to pick up my order expecting it to be around $65. I look at my ticket and my total was $82, each roll increased by about $2. I showed the manager the online prices and his response was "Our prices increased and we haven't updated our online menu". He refused to honor the online prices. So I said ok and left the food right there on the counter. I am very big on great customer service and that was Not it! I'll never return to Koi midtown.

Yelp
Great little sushi spot right in downtown. I had the bento box and we ordered three other rolls and they were excellent. Fresh sushi, nothing beats it

Anon Y.

Yelp
I stopped by here on the way home and go a beef pad Thai and a tuna sushi roll. Both were the best i've had in Nashville since moving here three years ago. The vibes were nice for after work with jazz playing and a chill vibe. The staff were respectful and friendly, checking in if I needed anything. Truly my new favorite spot in Nash, I'm surprised it wasn't packed for a dinner rush!
google avatar

Yelp
I forgot my wallet and they threatened to call the police if I didn't pay before I left, despite assurances I would go and get it and be back within 30 mins to pay. I live nearby and have been there a few times over several months. So, big drama. Paid, won't go back. With that said, the food is good, the place is comfortable and nice; just don't ask for 30 minutes to get your wallet to pay. Sushi chefs are nice. Waitress not so much.

Cordaryl W.

Yelp
Basil Rice w/Shrimp Spice level 2 Always hits the spot Some locations are closed on Monday make sure you check

Karen R.

Yelp
I live right by here and grab to go food on my way home from work all the time (dine-in on rare occasion). Some of their items are very hit or miss, can't say I'm overly fond of the sushi rolls I've tried. However their curry dishes, crab Rangoon's, Tom Yum and their Pho are really solid. I've started sticking to my regular dishes and order Beef pho to go quite often. Super underrated pho broth and beef. Their bartender is nice as well, can't remember his name unfortunately.

Annie M.

Yelp
Decent sushi and thai food. Not my favorite spot in Nashville but it's good for a quick and easy takeout meal!

Ed B.

Yelp
I was impressed by the sushi selections and also enjoyed the soy noodles. The chicken was a little dry but still very tasty. Service was excellent.

Burgess E.

Yelp
Delicious every time. They even make sure your take out stays warm and doesn't spill with extra wrapping. Love it!

Yelp
The inside of the restaurant is nicely decorated. I came here for lunch. Female waitress was friendly and welcoming. However she was the only waitress working the bar and the floor , so as the typical lunch hour approached and more people were coming in, it was not easy getting a hold of her. The pad thai was decent , the noodles were cooked perfect , but it was missing meat. This entree literally had 2 shrimp in it with a few pieces of chicken. The Volcano roll , I did not too much care for. The spices overpowered the crab meat. I expected whole pieces of scallop but instead it was pieces of scallop in the mixture of mainly imitation crab meat mixed with spicy mayo. I also expected for the mixture to sit inside a deeper seaweed cup then baked. The roll I received in my opinion was not worth $14-$15 dollars. All of their sushi rolls actually was highly priced compared to the other 4 sushi restaurants on the same street. The California roll was pretty good. The sushi rice nicely flavored and great texture of the avocado inside. Would I return or recommend the restaurant , probably not.
google avatar

Yelp
Been to this place twice, and while the food is fine, the service I had, especially during my second visit, was the worst service I've ever had in my entire life. The waitress Jasmine NEVER checked on us. She would make direct eye contact and walk away as if she was purposely not checking in. She would check in on every table but us. We had to beg people to help us and I will never ever be back.
google avatar

Uriel C.

Yelp
Had their basil fried rice, it was amazing... service was great, ambience is great and extremely close to where i was staying.
google avatar

Autumn S.

Yelp
The sushi was delicious! I loved being able to read the descriptions and see pictures from the iPad at every table!
google avatar

Sydney D.

Yelp
Love this place! Such a great atmosphere with amazing food. The menu is extensive but in the best way, you can't go wrong with anything you choose. Highly recommend!

Ryan E.

Yelp
Was handed a menu and sat at the bar. The sushi menu was not included.. waited almost 15 minutes until someone acknowledged me... had to ask if there was a sushi menu and finally was handed a tablet to look at. After 20 minutes I finally got a beer. Ordered the seared Ahi salad. That took forever to arrive. Was very disappointed, it was just a bowl of lettuce with a small portion of pretty much unseasoned tuna. Would not recommend.

Christopher D.

Yelp
Took girl on first date here. Great experience. Crab wonton for appy; and blue ocean and super crunch rolls for entrees. Service was amazing, and saki was delicious. Would recommend.

Fred T.

Yelp
I have eaten at this place several times before and always had the Tom Yum soup. It was always, like many other Thai restaurants around the country, spicy with a touch of citrus in its taste. I ordered some to be deliverer to my hotel and what they delivered was a chicken soup. I called them and told them it wasn't Tom Yum soup that they delivered. They started telling me that if I wanted spicy I had to ask for spicy. I told them that I had previously had their Tom Yum soup on multiple occasions before and that I had never ordered spicy. It was like you ordered fettuccine Alfredo and they told you that if you wanted a cream sauce you had to ask for it otherwise they used tomato sauce.

Bob T.

Yelp
Great sushi, fish is really fresh, friendly staff. Ample amount fish in the sushi, which is unusual these days

Toby W.

Yelp
I had a great dining experience at Koi midtown! Ordered Hot and Sour soup-- serving size was impressive and great quality! Very delicious! I also ordered 3 sushi rolls- which were just what I wanted! Very nice atmosphere and service all around! Much better than the East Nashville location-- which I haven't been back to in a few years due to bad food quality and service.. However, Koi midtown has stepped up the game and I will definitely be back! Such a nice experience!

Jasmine L.

Yelp
I've been here a couple of times before and the food was reliably decent. This time, I tried something else and ended up not liking the appetizer or either of my dishes. I called the waitress over to see if there was a way I could switch out my dishes and pay a difference for something else if necessary. She was completely unwilling to do this. She claimed I was "trying to eat for free" when I clearly just wanted to eat something I'd enjoy. She claimed that restaurants don't do substitutions and it said that on the menu. I asked for her to show where it stated this previously in the restaurant or on the menu and it was not listed anywhere. She became upset and said she would just take it off my bill and my friend and I (who ate their food and paid for their meal even though they weren't satisfied either) could get out because other people were doing the same thing and reiterated it's a restaurant not a tasting. I just felt that I should be able to eat something and enjoy it or switch it out if I didn't like it, simply.

Sherry N.

Yelp
I had to cancel my dish because by the time my dish was ready both of friends were done with both their sushi dishes. which is genuinely confusing considering 1. sushi usually takes longer to come out anyways 2. the restaurant was not busy. like at all. there were only 3 small tables including us. so i'm just confused as to why the kitchen took over 25 minutes to make a simple chicken dish. one of first things that is usually taught when it comes to serving is timing. the drinks should have came out first. one person's drink came out in the beginning and the other person's came out half through their meal. and they both got their food and finished it and i still hadn't gotten my dish. on top of that, neither the waitress or owner offered any compensation for situation or apologized and even went out of the way to charge me for the miso soup that was supposed to be included with the meal that never got. i honestly don't know how this restaurant's business is still running.
