Koin Coffee is hands down the BEST coffee spot in the Bay! I literally go almost every day because I can’t get enough. The coffee is absolutely delicious (and yes, they do the cute designs in your cup!), the food is always fresh and tasty, and the service? Amazing. The people here are genuinely kind and welcoming—it’s the kind of place that just brightens your day. Love coming here and will keep coming back! ☕✨

A quaint cafe near Kaiser Park Shadelands area. This place just various baked goods, sandwiches, and toast delectables. I grab a few items along with a chai latte. Service was friendly. A great place to come visit if you need to use the clinic. I believe they are also open on the weekends when there is a farmers market in the parking lot.

Google
What a fun, neat little spot! They have light breakfast and pastries. Their coffee is AMAZING!! My husband said it’s “soothing to the soul,” and honestly, that’s a great way to explain it lol. The staff were very kind and helpful as well! Come visit 🥰

Upon entering I was greeted by every team member working and they were all a delight! The space is super clean and has different seating options, tables, comfy chairs sofa style. Very inviting. Super cute merch section too! I was super excited to try their dirty chai oat latte because they make their chai in house. Unfortunately I was thoroughly disappointed. The 16 oz tasted like an entire cup of oat milk. I couldn’t taste any chai spice or espresso. Maybe a different drink will be better. Next time I’ll just try an espresso and cortado to compare and see how those flavors are.

Google
Koin coffee has a very unique atmosphere and great staff. I have to acknowledge, this is one of the larger space coffee shops in the Bay with plenty of seating. On top of that, it is very clean and well maintained. Now for the coffee review. There is a state of the art La Marzocco machine. The coffee itself had some very bold notes. I was a bit bummed out my latte felt watered down even though I ordered with whole milk. Personally, I expected a creamier texture. Overall, I do recommend anyone in the area checks them out.

Delightful staff, quality lunch items (specifically the Turkey Pesto!) & great ambiance/atmosphere. A new frequent spot for myself fore lunch - and highly suggest to others!

Google
I wanted to change up my morning coffee routine and decided to give Koin a try. I ordered the seasonal drink, the Orange Coconut Latte ($7.37) — I can't recommend it enough! It even had shredded coconut, which was delicious. The inside of Koin is very spacious and modern; there's ample seating too. My only wish is that they published the seasonal drinks online! Other than that I love this place - I'll definitely be back.

Google
This coffee shop is large with plenty of seating, big windows, and a sleek, modern vibe. The natural light pouring in creates a really inviting atmosphere—great spot for working or relaxing. I tried the drip coffee, which had a noticeable berry flavor. Personally, that’s not my preference, but if you like fruity notes in your coffee, you’ll probably enjoy it more than I did.

Yelp
I've been here twice and I love it. It's a cozy shop with lots of seating room. It's in a great location, easy parking, and makes it easy for me to hit the gym in the morning and grab a coffee on my way home. I learned while ordering a vanilla latte that they make their own syrups which I think is great & Ive never known another coffee shop who did the same. The vanilla made my latte perfectly sweet. The cherry on top is the service, they have always been friendly and seemed to enjoy their job. I will be back for sure.

Yelp
I used to work right by this place, and am so sad Koin Coffee wasn't around during that time! I visited Koin Coffee after driving by, and was really pleased with my experience. The shop itself is really cute - it's modern and spacious, and the glass windows throughout the store allow for so much natural sunlight to come in. I would love to grab my laptop and get some work done inside the shop. The staff was nice and attentive. To drink, I ordered a vanilla oatmilk latte and it was really good. I really enjoyed the strong taste of the coffee and the house-made vanilla syrup really complimented that. I also ordered an avocado toast with a boiled egg on top, and it was pretty solid! I loved the touch of the fried onions on top, I would never have thought to add those. It was a pretty standard avocado toast, but the onions really brought it over the top! I really want to try the other syrup flavors because I was so pleased with the vanilla. I'll be back soon!

Yelp
Found this place after attending the farmers market! Service was prompt and helpful! Cool little place tucked back in the shadelands area. We enjoyed the coffee and the atmosphere of the shop. The pastries and food were super tasty and we enjoyed the variety vs your coffee chains. We will be back!

Yelp
A lil gem of a coffee shop in the middle of a business park. Menu has all the staples and milk options. A few bite options, I like the avocado toast and the captain (banana /nutbutter). Lots of seating

Pink L.

Yelp
Stopped here as they're located very close to my doctor's office. The seating area can get busy with people chatting and doing work. Appreciate they have housemade syrups, not including the dark mocha. Dark mocha latte has a light flavor and so does their vanilla latte. Could be also because of the roast of the coffee bean they use as well. FYI: 2 shots of espresso no matter what size you get They have a corner with some goods to buy like greeting cards and things which is cute. I liked their Christian inspired clothing messages, but they didn't have them this time around anymore. Maybe they sold out? Now it's only their coffee shop hoodies. Love that this is a small, women & local owned business.

Yelp
Koin coffee offers the perfect spot after visiting the local farmers market. Though there's limited charging outlets, this cafe offers amble seating for those looking for a place to study.

Yelp
I am so happy we finally have a great option for coffee and food around park Shadelands. The ambiance is beautiful. It is spacious, peaceful and modern looking. The food was delicious and seems very fresh. I had their salad which is conveniently packed if you are in a hurry. The turkey pesto sandwich was delicious and I wanna go back to order it again. I tried their chai latte and it was ok. I am beyond happy to have this great option for good food but also a great hang out spot.

Yelp
My new favorite place! I co worker got it for me last week and now I have gone everyday since. Around the same price as Starbucks but so much better tasting. I also recommend the sourdough cookies. They are delicious!!

Yelp
Soft Opening This coffee shop just opened twelve days ago. It is located in Shadelands Business Park. The aesthetic is so cute and there is so much space which I LOVED! I ordered the House Made Vanilla Bean Latte. This drink was so DELICIOUS and the perfect amount of sweetness. You can even see the Vanilla Bean on the bottom of the drink. Not only was it delicious but it had a good amount of caffeine. The only thing I wish was, if they had already put a straw in my cup instead of going across the room. I had to wait for a minute for my straw because the lady in front of me was putting in creamer and sugar. Other than that I honestly think this is one of the best coffee shops on the Bay Area. I can't wait to come back and try different drinks!

Yelp
Perfect place to meet friends. The "flat white" was delicious, not bitter. The coffee cake (almond flavor) was excellent. Atmosphere a ten, parking easy!

Britany R.

Yelp
Place was so clean and peaceful food and drinks 10/10 I got a vanilla iced latte and a turkey pesto

Yelp
This spot is a hidden gem for the Shadelands community - I stopped by on my way to work this morning and it was so convenient to finally have a solid coffee shop right around the corner! I got an iced vanilla latte (my usual), and it was made perfectly. The staff are all super friendly, and the inside has plenty of seating if you want to come in and get some work done. I liked that it was lively but not bustling like most other coffee shops in the area. Koin definitely has a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy some of your favorite coffee!

Yelp
The best taste coffee in the area they have huge area for dine in and hang out! highly recommend friendly staff

Yelp
I came here 5 times in the past week and a half. Enough said! Love their house made syrups. Their vanilla oat milk latte is my go to. I also appreciate how clean it in inside. Service was usually great every time I went. Yesterday (Dec 30), I went in the afternoon and I did not feel that the staff was very warm or friendly. HOWEVER, on all the other days I went, I was floored at how kind the staff was! Super happy this place opened up - a place with great coffee, and spacious enough to get work done here too!

Yelp
Awesome new little low key Coffee shop that recently opened in Shadelands area in Wc. Conveniently located by Kaiser and Ultimate Fieldhouse on Wiget lane. I had recently saw a sandwich board and was curious on trying it out. It was a bit hard to find but I ran into this spot on a routine Dr. appointment at Shadelands Kaiser. It had plenty of seating and lots of room to spread out. They have free WiFi and a few patio chairs and table out side if you wanted to be outside. I had a Hazelnut Kough Amman pastry and a Flat white with Almond milk. They also had a fridge stocked with snacks for on the go Breakfast or lunch items. Both gals were super friendly and they informed me that the Coffee shop is only 2 weeks old. It is definitely worth a stop and the Flat white was really good!! So next time you're in the area and want a pick me up, stop by in for a quick bite or a caffeine fix.

Yelp
Tristyn and Donna have created a great option for craft coffee among the traditional chains in the nestled business area. Poetic in ambiance and solid in service, Koin has only good things going for it. Derived from koinonia meaning fellowship, community, contribution and participation, I can see this place mature to be a real center for surrounding area. Tried the cashew butter toast and bacon onion croissants for a snack. The floor is so spacious that I could go Joy Boy (Luffy from One Piece reference) and wouldn't knock over a thing. Come get your next coffee from Koin. Break bread and eat together.

Yelp
I've been more times than I can count! It's delicious every time! You can't beat the house made syrups, no nasty aftertaste of chemicals! The beans they serve have a sweet and deep flavor I haven't experienced anywhere else in the Bay Area! The service is top notch, even during the busy times, the staff is patient and friendly. The ambience is beautiful, a carefully and thoughtfully curated space with sweet mercantile section. It's a MUST VISIT!

Yelp
The Vanilla latte is amazing. And the coffee is very strong. I would say it's equivalent to Peet's coffee

Yelp
Coffee (9/10) - Really good coffee. Got an iced latte. Prob my new favorite in the Walnut Creek area. Service (10/10) - Very friendly and communicative staff. Ambiance (8/10) - Modern, clean decor. Great background music for working and casual convos. Only thing is there's no chargers readily accessible. Otherwise, plenty of parking. Love the concept of breaking bread and fellowship, meaning of Koinonia here. Will return again for a cup of coffee and a book, but maybe not with my laptop.

Yelp
I just found my new favorite coffee place. Koin Coffee is off the beaten path, nestled in business park. It's next door to the Kaiser Credit Union and part of a community of businesses and medical offices. The whole business park is beautifully landscaped, flowers, trees and a few ponds. It offers a nice escape from the busy-ness of the world. Koin has a clean and open floor plan w plenty of tables and a comfy couch. I'd vote for one or two more comfy chairs or a loveseat. It's also got a small outdoor area so perfect for dog owners who want to take the pup on a walk. The coffee was smooth and the avocado toast was delish. They offer standard coffeehouse beverages and a selection of pastries and "toasts."

Taylor L.

Yelp
I really enjoyed stopping by Koin, I'm always excited for a new coffee shop. It's very clean but almost a bit sterile (I think some more comfortable seating-couches, large chairs would make it feel more welcoming) however, the coffee was good, and I'd return to try more of their drinks.

Yelp
This was my first time trying Koin, a new coffee shop near Park Shadelands. The space has a very clean and open atmosphere with a modern feel. The staff were friendly, and the service was quick. I tried the cinnamon toast made with sourdough bread, which was delicious, though a bit pricey. My drink was a cookie butter latte which was beautifully presented and served at a good temperature, with a nice flavor overall. My sister had a pumpkin spice iced latte, which she enjoyed, but it could have used an extra shot of syrup for sweetness. The café offers plenty of indoor seating, a few outdoor tables, and a ramp for accessibility.

Yelp
New coffee shop! It's so cute. I'll be coming back to do work and hang out on the weekends. Huge spacious area. Very clean and adorable. We tried 4 coffees and all were amazing. My favorites were pumpkin spice latte and the brown sugar latte. The lady that helped was really nice and read back our order to make sure it was correct. Can't wait to come back

Yelp
Stopped by today for their soft opening. At 11:30 am they were still pretty busy (a good sign). A few people in line ordering, lots of people gathered enjoying their drinks and eats at the many tables. We ordered a coffee and tea, and a sample of each type of cookie (sea salt and chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, and oatmeal - all great!). We enjoyed our drinks there. We will definitely return, and I could see having meetings or working groups here too.
google avatar

Frances M.

Yelp
I was there a week before Christmas midday and I had a nice cozy ambience. There were young people, moms with young kids, people working on their computers and people who work in the neighboring offices. I had the avocado toast which was delicious and a chai latte. I can see the place being a Local hangout. The place was inviting and relaxing. A nice place to hang out or just stop by to pick up something to eat or drink.

Yelp
Such a great space! Loved the decor and the vibe. The staff were all very friendly. My tea was great and the morning bun was hands down the best I've ever had. I'm impressed that they just opened, it's all running very well. Will definitely be back soon!

Yelp
Koin coffee is AMAZING! All syrups are house made! We tried the vanilla and seasonal pumpkin lattes. They were delicious! Then we tried the house drip coffee. It was very good. No need for cream and sugar. The staff is very friendly and welcoming! There is plenty of space to enjoy your coffee and the company of others! My daughter enjoyed the toys and the vanilla steamer! We will definitely come back! So happy we have a craft coffee spot nearby!
google avatar

Jordyn T.

Yelp
My favorite neighborhood spot! The coffee - amazing. The food - incredible. The service - simply the best!!! I've also never been to a more kid friendly cafe. It's a mom's dream! So thankful for this place
google avatar

Yelp
Three stars because the ambiance was very sterile ... a little gift shop in the store promoting Christian books etc... made me feel uncomfortable
google avatar

Yelp
Got the House Made Vanilla Bean Latte and Seasonal Danish. Both are great! The atmosphere and employees were amazing! Will be coming back.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by to grab a matcha latte and I was pleasantly impressed with the space and staff. My drink was tasty, but it was the warm welcoming that made me feel invited as if I was stopping by to see a friend. I look forward to trying their other drinks as well as their food options!

Romina G.

Yelp
Koin is one of my new favorite coffee shops in Walnut Creek! The staff are friendly and cute, the space is bright and clean, the snacks are yummy and the drinks are cozy. There's a sweet little farmers market on Saturday in the nearby parking lot.

Yelp
This new coffee shop is one of my favorites. The ambience is welcoming with plenty of seating, and the offer delicious handcrafted coffees, pastries, and toasts. It's definitely a place where you can linger in conversation and relaxation without feeling rushed or crowded by other guests. They also have a great selection of gift items.
google avatar

Edel G.

Yelp
Coffee was awesome! Definitely get the vanilla bean iced coffee. We rode our bike to check this out. Service was great. Coffee has great flavor.

Kim M.

Yelp
The coffee tastes great, the food like the toasts are okay. The avo toast is super salty and was hard to eat. The employees are super friendly and kind which is great. The last time we went the table and chairs were so dirty that it really grossed us out. We're not super picky with this kind of stuff, but it was bad enough that it sorta made us lose our appetite. We will definitely be back, hopefully they can work on the cleanliness of the place in between customers using their tables and chairs.
google avatar

Roach A.

Yelp
The Vanilla Bean Latte is a must. Anyone who's a coffee fan has to stop by at some point. It's my new go to spot. Owner is super cool and down to earth as well. 10/10
google avatar

Yelp
Not a fan of the taste of their coffee. However, they have a nice choice of pastries and warm atmosphere . The workers were very informative and helpful.

Yelp
THE BEST COFFEE IN THE BAY AREA!!! Tristyn and DJ have created an amazing and welcoming environment! The only thing better than their coffee is their first class staff!

Tara R.

Yelp
This is my new favorite local coffee shop! The staff are always friendly and my coffee has been consistently delicious every time. I even took a bag of beans home to be able to make the delicious coffee at home. The ambience is peaceful, there's plenty of space and seating, and parking is so easy. I also love all of their merchandise and food options. I give this coffee shop 5+ stars!

Justin P.

Yelp
Good coffee, good food, and great staff. Wonderful new shop the area needed. Try their turkey pesto sandwich it's good!

Jessica P.

Yelp
So excited to have an artisan coffee shop in the wc/Clayton area! Coffee is great, toast is DELISH! I love that they have other snacky options too. Owners very involved and present, very quick to fix mistakes if there is any! Shop is in a great spot with easy parking! I love that they have puzzles and toys for the kids! Hoping they do mobile ordering soon & also add in vegan donuts cus those are so darn good! :)

Bekah J.

Yelp
Good vibes! The pastries and toasts are amazing. I tried the Smavo Toast, and it was delicious. The staff was friendly, and drinks were ready quickly.
google avatar

Yelp
i always get a brown sugar cinnamon latte with an extra shot of espresso and sometimes a pastry (their almond croissant is soo good!). Inside is super cute too with plenty of seating, and the baristas are always super friendly!

Jesenia A.

Yelp
So excited to have a new coffee shop nearby and not have to trek into downtown Walnut Creek. My iced chai was delicious and they had dairy free milk options! They also have a case full of pastries and sell fresh sourdough loaves. They were sold out of the loaves by the time I got there, but excited to try to get one another time. They have really cute merch and a few shelves with cute gifts to buy. Will definitely be back!

igs t.

Yelp
Awesome spot with top-notch coffee, super friendly folks, and a totally relaxed vibe. Definitely worth checking out!

Yelp
