Koja Sushi

I’ve been on the hunt for a new favorite sushi spot and I found it. The owner and staff were phenomenal and beyond kind. They are very generous with their portions, have affordable pricing and creative with the menu. There are many options for anyone to enjoy. The atmosphere was quaint and intimate, highly enjoyable for friends and family to gather over delicious food. I ordered the Hamudi Roll and the Chefs Special since I wanted to be surprised… I was! Thank you Koja Sushi for your sincere hospitality and sushi craft. I will be returning.

As a long‑time sushi lover, I’m always on the hunt for creatively delicious bites—and Koja Sushi in Dearborn definitely hits the mark! I tried a variety of rolls, but the Michigan Roll was my favorite—especially with the lemon slices on top. It gives the roll this bright, zesty lift that’s so unexpected but so good. I always add a drizzle of sriracha on top for an extra kick!

Sashimi deluxe is our favorite every time we go. Fish melts in your mouth and it’s always consistent the quality of the dish. I also found my new favorite salad, octopus salad 😋.

Everyone was so nice and the food was great. It's been a while since my husband and I has sushi this good. We'll definitely be back.

Koja sushi. We decided to try this place due to all the high reviews. I must say firstly the food is quite good indeed. I apologize for the first empty dish picture. It was Fish Tempura graciously from the chef. And surprisingly good. The deluxe bento, beef tataki I believe. And the seafood noodle bowl. This place is great if you want it to go. But if you dine in, the bathroom was for employees only. I dunno if this is temporary or a normal thing there. So just a heads up, and some of the menus are falling apart. And when asking the waitress about the menu items she didn’t know much on it like what vegetables are in certain dishes etc since it doesn’t list or show it on the menu. Lacks atmosphere, but great for a quick pickup order.

One of my go-to sushi restaurants. Definitely as good as it gets at this price range!! The menu is huge, sushi selection super diverse. The fish all tastes really fresh, always has beautiful presentation. They also have delicious bibimbap!

I came to Koja Sushi for my Birthday because they had such great reviews and a good menu for people who like sushi/fish and other Japanese dishes for people who don't like fish. They had a great menu with very affordable prices and delicious menu items, we went in a group of 5 and were impressed by everything! The service was the best part!! Such lovely people and such attentive service, we felt like we were at home! I would recommend this place to anyone who loves sushi!!!

This place is small but food is big. Very tasty very fresh. Nice service came here to pick up two California rolls with spicy mayo and soy sauce . Delicious.

I highly recommend this place. It's my last day in Michigan, and I regret not trying it sooner. I would have definitely returned multiple times. The sushi here is incredibly delicious. We ordered the spider roll, firecracker roll, and popcorn roll. My favorite was the firecracker, while my partner loved the spider roll. This spider roll was the best I've had in the states; they prepared it differently, and I enjoyed the texture. The firecracker roll is bursting with flavor, a must-try. I also appreciated that the popcorn roll had perfectly crispy fried shrimp, not overly fried. Their hot stone bibimbap is phenomenal! They used my favorite veggies that complemented the dish perfectly. The service was both fast and excellent. The owner is very friendly, and the locals seem to know him well. The place is clean, with a modern ambiance. Highly recommended! I want to mention that I had been avoiding Japanese food in Michigan due to a previous disappointing experience in a highly rated area. However, I had a sushi craving and decided to try this spot, and I'm so glad I did.

Ordered chicken katsu and received " " katsu. Could not eat. It is just breading, no meat. Good stars for very kind service.

This was a impulsive decision to come to this place but boy am I glad we did. This Sushi was absolutely amazing. It's a kind of small intimate restaurant so much so that the chefs greet you as you walk through the door. Our waitress was so kind and attentive and went above and beyond to make our experience phenomenal

Small hole in the wall with incredibly good sushi. Really enjoyed our meal, the owner was so kind, the sushi was so fresh, the space is small but can fit a large party if the place isn't too busy I would probably call ahead. My favorite roll is the Michigan roll, we also got the dragon egg with crab soo good. The owner brought out a new item he plans to feature on the menu and it was amazing can't wait for it to be on the menu. I recommend trying this place and come hungry, you won't be disappointed!

No alcohol. No sushi bar interior. It looks like a Chinese carry out place. Sushi rice is loose. They play some weird dance music. I totally don't like the place. No idea how it got a 4.7!? I'm very generous to give a 2 star.

The food is GREAT! The service is great and the ambiance is nice. It is a small sushi spot with really good food. I had the popcorn lobster roll and the Philly roll. So yummy

Excellent quality sushi, excellent service. I would definitely come here again. Prices were competitive for a sushi dinner. I'm a sucker for spicy tuna and their hand roll was loaded with filling and tasted great. Sashimi was cut perfect and into large pieces. The red tuna was perfect and "flakey." Would definitely come back.

Spicy salmon avocado roll, spider roll, yum yum roll, and popcorn lobster. EVERYTHING was delicious including the ginger salad and best miso soup I've ever had!

We ordered take out and we were not disappointed! Restaurant is small with limited in dining seating, but the food and service are terrific! The staff and chef were extremely friendly. We ordered three rolls and a chicken fried rice appetizer. The sushi was fresh and the fried rice was well seasoned. The menu has lots of options and is very affordable.

Service: A Food: A Great place for some sushi , teriyaki and bibimpap. They get very creative with the sushi and the rolls are very filling. Some good appetizers with the dragon ball which is avocado filled with crab salad. The ginger dressing on the salad is tangy , I really enjoyed it. They are very clean and the service was great.

The food is amazing and the delivery service is quick and the food arrives hot. Simply delicious!

My boyfriend and I went here on a whim one night and it's our new favorite Asian food spot!!! He had the seafood bibimbap and I had a shrimp tempura roll and the udon. Both of mine were delicious but I will definitely be getting the bibimbap next time as his was delicious!!! The owner was very nice and it was very clean and casual inside. It seems like there's a lot of regulars that knew the owner by name and vice versa! I'm excited to have a new place for Korean/Japanese food since moving away from Ypsi/Ann Arbor. We will definitely be back!

I randomly stumbled across Koja with my gals and we were happy that they had indoor seating during COVID19. The tables were spread apart and it was a neat place! The sushi was so fresh and good, which left me speechless that somewhere in Dearborn could carry such good fish!!! ESPECIALLY THE WHITE TUNA - It's so hard to find a good quality white tuna anywhere. We got the lunch box and a few special rolls. The White Castle roll was really unique and I've never had anything like it! It was super good and changed my life and perspective on baked rolls. What made me fall in love further was the customer service. They were the friendliest people I've met in Michigan and the host was so attentive even while dealing with our indecisiveness. The chef is SO passionate and it really shows in the quality of the food as well as him experimenting with different things that we got to try for free!!

This place is amazing. The food is great. The hot stone seafood bi bim bap is particularly great. The beef in their beef bi bim bap is spectacular and I also had the teok-bokki - delicious! The staff is very friendly. Great service! And the owner is friendly and welcoming!!! Highly recommend!!!

Amazing food, amazing service. The owner always gives us something on the house to try and everything is always so good. Smells good so nice there 100% recommend... I drive an hour just to go eat there... I love them

One of my favorite sushi spots. The owner Jean is such a cool guy and will continue to ask about your experience. I first ate here in 2021 and honestly haven't been anywhere else for sushi since. I recommend trying out the Philly Roll or the Vegas Roll YUMMMMMMMMMMMM

Went to Koja Sushi for takeout and was quite pleased. One doesn't often find Tamago in Michigan, but theirs was excellent! The smoked salmon sashimi was also a pleasant surprise. We ordered the large combo sashimi-sushi platter, salmon skin roll, Unagi, and a mixed fish sunomono salad. Simply put, it is the best sushi we have had since leaving California.

The food here is always amazing, I can come here every week and never get tired of the food. The workers greet you very welcoming. Not only the food presentation is so pretty but it's so good too. The place is very cozy. I would definitely 100% recommend this place :)

Service and food were awesome. Loved the Michigan Ave roll . Edamame was great. My mom doesn't do sushi so she had fried rice which was a very large portion Only thing that would make it better is if the menu had pictures of the rolls

The best sushi I have found in Michigan hands down!! I truly consider myself to be a sushi connoisseur! And I've had some of the best and most freshest sushi/fish in the South. This place is the BEST in Southeast Michigan I have found! The staff was friendly, even the guy cooking says hi and bye to you! Got the Sumo Roll and a house salad. Both were amazing. Their ginger dressing is wonderful! Will be back any chance I get! Don't question your decision to eat here, it's AMAZING!!

Horrible. I ordered 3 rolls on door dash and 3 salmon roe nigiris.. ( Cancun Roll , California tempura Roll and a spicy scallop roll ) . They were just not worth the money at all. The California Tempura Roll was soggy, all breading and avocado and the tiniest sliver of crab. The Cancun roll was almost all rice and avocado with a tiny piece of over cooked shrimp . The toppings were literally every where for the Cancun roll. I was just so appalled by spicy scallop roll. The scallops were over cooked, rubbery, and it made me sick ! I ordered the 3 salmon roe (fish eggs) nigiri and they sent me salmon nigiri. Like the whole ordered was so messed up and was not worth almost the $40 that I paid for. Don't waste your time and your money. These 5 star reviews are not dependable because I did not get 5 star quality food.

Truly 6/5 hehe! The sushi was phenomenal, freshest ingredients, great atmosphere, super clean restaurant, and the absolute nicest staff! It's my new favorite sushi place in Dearborn & highly recommend them. So attentive & the photo of their sushi speaks for itself. Their miso soup was also super delicious. Shoutout to the sweetest female waitress/cashier there as well!!! My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our time.

My new favorite sushi spot in Dearborn! Everything was very fresh and the service was excellent when we went to pick up. The spicy tuna has that extra kick to it with lots of flavor. My favorite was probably the S&T roll but everything was great.

We originally were skeptical about all the 5 star reviews but decided to try it out for ourselves. This place deserves all the praise! From the minute we entered we were met with unwavering customer service. From the miso soup starters to the chef's special appetizer roll, to the the seaweed salad, sushi rolls,tans complimentary mochi dessert. Everything was fresh and delicious. We ordered 3 speciality rolls based on the waitress's recommendation and we were impressed by all of them. The waiters and the chef came to check on us multiple times throughout, and based on their hospitality alone we will definitely be back, not to mention the quality of their food. Best of all, everything is halal! This place is highly recommended.

Best sushi I've had in a LONG time! The place is new so the atmosphere is sleek, clean, and beautiful. The server was very kind and checked on us frequently. The chef even came to ask how our food was. Everything was great from the food to the service. My favorite was the Las Vegas roll - we even got some to-go! Definitely coming back and supporting this local gem.

I ordered the chicken katsu. It was so dry I couldn't even finish it. They even burnt it. Will not be coming back.

I love this place, I come here every week. It is a cheat day spot! We try to bring a new friend each time and it never disappoints. The owner and the staff are so polite and always take good care of their costumers. We have tried different items on the menu and haven't found one that we don't like. I would recommend this to anyone the place is always clean and the atmosphere is so amazing!

This was my first time trying sushi here and I was blown away. The owners are the friendliest, kindest people. I was greeted with a smile when I walked in and had the best service ever. The sushi is delicious and was made quick. I have nothing bad to say- truly an incredible experience! Thank you!

Clean, and very fresh. I think that's the main reason I'm giving a five star rating today. When eating raw fish I at least find it super important that the fish is fresh. The owner is very welcoming. And the service was excellent. I definitely had a great experience.

always amazing service. honestly, i'm not just saying this they treat you very respectfully here and i've been to every sushi restaurant within 50 miles food always tastes fresh as well just overall a good hidden gem.

So good! The chef's special was fantastic and the service was incredible. The restaurant was very clean. The chef came over multiple times to check on us and ask how we liked our meal. Sushi was fresh and reasonably priced. I'll be back. They even have Japanese soda!

Stopped in for lunch really quickly. A small place. Maybe 6 tables. More so for carry out, but I dined in. The service was attentive and fast. My sushi was very fresh and tempura batter was perfect. I got a side of eel sauce and spicy Mayo (the real test of a good sushi place to me) phenomenal sauces. Quality ingredients, friendly staff. Will definitely return. Jin was SO nice! He said he was the owner/chef. I love this little business and I would love to see them succeed!!

This place is the best! My BF & I wanted late night sushi but nothing was open past 9:30. Luckily this place was and the service was amazing and the owners / staff was beyond lovely and really made the experience wonderful. Our server/women running the front counter was a gem, so sweet and just wanted us to have a nice meal. I hope she gets amazing business because she deserves it. The sushi chef even came to our table and asked how our meal was. The place was super clean, newly renovated and our food came out quick. It was delicious and we most definitely will be back.

Finally another affordable sushi place in Dearborn! Brand new business doing fantastic job on traditional and special sushi rolls. The nigir sushi was very fresh and ample slices. The chefs and staff are really nice and attentive. I'm definitely coming back!

Super fresh sushi! Reasonably priced. Waitress was super nice and service was excellent. Owner came and visited our table and wanted to make sure everything was great. Popcorn lobster roll was super delicious. We ordered more rolls of that because it was that great. Miso soup was really good too. We will defiantly will be back to explore the menu more.

We're not from the immediate area, but saw this place when we were at the kid play place. I've had great sushi, and this place is as good as the best. Our go to is normally in the downriver area (BPT) and this place is even better. Even after a 25 minute drive home since this was takeout. Our order was exclusively rolls, but the ingredients were fresh and the selection is huge. Highly recommend!

We had intended to just get take out beforehand, but when we walked in, we were greeting with such genuine service, we couldn't help but grab ourselves a chair and sit at a table. To our delight, a chefs special was brought as an appetizer that tasted amazing, being the perfect cursor to the rest of our meal. We also got three rolls and a bowl of ttaboki, all having amazing flavor. Be sure to try the salmon skin roll for a nice umami flavor. With such perfectly executed service and dishes, I couldn't help but feel the need to rave about this ASAP. Don't let its location scare you, it's the perfect hidden gem for your next outing.
