Came in to try the Ethiopian food, doro wot and greens were particularly good, 6-8:30pm two for $5 cocktails and lentil sambusas, good location close to up and coming and established petworth/park view, local neighborhood restaurant, bartender and manager was very friendly and accommodating, hookah downstairs

This place is delicious, and amazing, everyone is super prompt and friendly and it’s all at an incredible price. We love Kokeb! and everything we’ve tried has been good, but the lamb tibs are particularly awesome. Highly recommended Ethiopian food family spot

Delicious, friendly, good service. In a town with an abundance of Ethiopian restaurants, this unassuming spot could easily be overlooked - but for those who visit, it will stand out. I had the cabbage, collards, berbere lentils, a sambusa, and an Ethiopian amber beer, and all were delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive. I could not figure out why this place seemed dead on a Friday night. (My only minor quibble is that this small restaurant has four TV screens -- I am not a fan.)

The food was excellent, very well seasoned, and at a good price. The only negative about the restaurant is that the ambiance is closer to a bar rather than a restaurant. But they do have takeout. If your looking for good Ethiopian food or just want to be adventurous, i would recommend this restaurant.

Owner/chef was so kind and gracious. The food was soooo good! The collard green were amazing as were other dishes. We over ordered but couldn’t stop eating until it was all gone. Don’t let the humble setting put you off - this place is worth going to again and again.

Best Ethiopian food I've had in DC by far. I was raised in an Ethiopian household where my mother and I always loved to cook so I know a thing or two about authentic tasty Ethiopian food! I highly recommend!!! They lamb awaze tips is my absolute dish! So tender and juicy !!! I found out about this place about a week ago and I've been back 3 times!

This was my first time at an Ethiopian restaurant. I wasn't sure what to expect and had no idea what to order. The owner came out and helped me negotiate the menu. All the food was excellent. I'd recommend this place to anyone.
