"Guests are cosseted from start to finish during this theatrical dining experience at the 14-seat counter in the Capella Hanoi hotel basement. Affable Chef Hiroshi Yamaguchi skilfully cooks teppanyaki dishes that are rich and complex in flavour. The menu's distinct decadence is epitomised by the premium ingredients flown in fortnightly from Japan (abalone, spiny lobster, sea urchin and Hokkaido hairy crab). The certified Kyori beef arrives from Yaeyama monthly." - Michelin Inspector

Izakaya by Koki

"Tucked away in the basement of Capella hotel, Izakaya is a modern and chic setting, with various seating areas, including more intimate sofa areas. Guests are welcomed with a complimentary sake with aromatic notes of tropical fruit. Sourcing 70% of its ingredients from Japan, this restaurant has an extensive menu including a specialty of grilled dishes: the grilled black cod with Saikyo sauce is particularly impressive. Be sure to save room for the signature dessert: housemade yame matcha or black truffle ice cream." - Michelin Inspector

An absolute amazing experience. The food, service, and ambience were top notch. We loved seeing the all the food prepared in front of us teppanyaki style. The chef was very friendly and explained every dish to us. Each course was an interesting flavor profile that was very diverse but blended well with the whole meal. The plating was absolute perfection with attention to detail. The highlight had to be the Japanese Waygu. They showed us the authenticity certificate and cooked it to perfection to a melt in your mouth experience. Would highly recommend to anyone passing through!

The food is beautifully and elegantly presented. The fish dishes are incredibly fresh, and the salmon sashimi even tastes richer and fattier than fresh salmon in Japan. The miso-glazed fish is flavorful, with a perfect balance of sweetness, saltiness, and richness. The hotpot, however, is not particularly outstanding. The restaurant has a sophisticated ambiance, clean restrooms, and friendly staff.

Yes ok, the ingredients quality is top-notch. Yes ok, you've a Japanese chef cooking for you. And yes, you're at a restaurant inside Capella. But the price is outrageous. More than 20.000.000 dong for 2 people, drinking excluded, means making fun of the customers. The food is cooked well, but nothing that would be minimally worth that price. In Hanoi there are so many options, offering a real experience for a fraction of the price. To avoid.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Izakaya by Koki and had the most wonderful time. The service was amazing, friendly and attentive. We felt totally spoilt and appreciated the recognition of our anniversary. They offered us a complimentary dessert, a specifically created drink and a digestive. The food was delicious and some of the best Japanese food we’ve had outside Japan. The atmosphere of the dining room is intimate and romantic so perfect for our celebration. All the staff were wonderful, but a special shoutout to Tham who looked after us in the dining room, Quoc who is the head bartender (we recommend sitting at the bar for crafted Japanese influenced cocktails) and Chi on reception who helped book and manage our reservation (from Australia). We would highly recommend Izakaya by Koki!

An Unforgettable Culinary Journey! Wow, this place is seriously next-level! If you're a major food lover, you HAVE to check it out. The vibe was super lively, and I noticed a lot of younger, really into-food people there, which was cool. They definitely seem to attract an international crowd, probably because they're so focused on getting the best ingredients from all over the world. But the absolute highlights for me were the Yaeyama-Kyori Beef – it's Japanese Wagyu perfection, and it even came with a certificate so you know it's legit! And the rice, oh my goodness, it seemed to be this super luxurious kind called "Yuki no Megami" (Snow Goddess). Just those two things tell you how committed this restaurant is to using only the absolute best. Watching the chefs work their magic, from making delicate soba to crafting other incredible dishes, felt like being part of something really special, a truly exclusive food event. Seriously, if you're looking for more than just a meal and want a truly curated, edible adventure, this is your spot!

This is the best Michelin star restaurant I tried in Vietnam. Price is on a higher side, but I felt it's worth it. The service is amazing. Pre booking is a must for this place.

A 5/5 experience at Koki. The atmosphere was elegant yet welcoming, and the attention to detail in both the food and service was exceptional. I went with my family with kid, so we chose A la carte menu. Each dish was a beautiful fusion of flavors using finest ingredients. The restaurant’s well-deserved 1-star Michelin rating is reflected in both the food and service. Highly recommended!
