Chef Daisuke-san is a genius! I’ve been following his journey for over 10 years from Umu to Hannah and I’ve always loved the way he takes traditional Japanese flavors and makes them feel fresh and exciting.
His menu at Kokin shows him at his best: sushi, sashimi, tempura, wood-fired grilling and smoking etc. You can tell his kaiseki training is behind his commitment to freshness and flavor balance. Every single dish hits!
I came with my mother and girlfriend. We each ordered a lunch set with a few snacks to share between us and loved every bite. For this level of quality, the price is a STEAL.
Chef Dai and his amazing team (shoutout to sous chef Zoe) haven’t just picked up where they left off from Hannah, they’ve taken it to a whole new level.
I’ll definitely be back again and again, and can’t wait to witness the next decade of Chef Dai’s cooking.
