Truly outstanding stay! We enjoyed every moment of staying at Kokkini Porta Rossa as part of our honeymoon and hope that we can come back. Niko was so helpful in giving us recommendations and helping to plan our itinerary around Rhodes. The custom app is an incredible tool to help you navigate the island in the best possible way. Angela’s magical breakfasts made the start of each day a true delight. The accommodations are beautiful and special. A truly unique place to stay. Highly highly recommend!

I can't say enough good things about Kokkini Porta Rossa, possibly the most enjoyable hotel stay we've ever had. The location, a short walk from St John's Gate inside the walled city, is perfect for a visit to Rhodes Town. The hotel is immaculate and filled with interesting collections of books and objects of interest. Our suite was spacious, homey and comfortable despite its being beautiful, and every small detail was thoughtfully attended to. A delicious breakfast was served each morning with the same thoughtful care as the rest of the hotel. Our hosts, Nikos and Angela, were delightful, friendly, interested in us, eminently knowledgeable about Rhodes and eager to get to know us and our interests in order to be of the greatest possible assistance, which they were. We had an itinerary planned, which we learned Nikos had worked on with our trip planner, and after meeting us and discussing our interests, he helped tweak it to make it even better. Each day, we were greeted upon our return from the day's adventures with curiosity about our experience, and a desire to keep their information current, from restaurants to excursions of all sorts. Everything, from the in-room amenities, to the cocktails and treats prepared if we liked after an evening's meal, to Nikos and Angela's son Paris' piano music each evening, everything about our stay was flawless. Until this experience I would not have considered visiting Rhodes again from California, but Kokkini Porta Rossa makes a compelling case to do so.

Amazing place, amazing hosts in an amazing setting! Kokkini Porto Rossa has thought of everything to make your stay unforgettable. Nikos, Angela and son Paris will make you feel welcome from the start. From incredible breakfasts in the courtyard to evening drinks, you won’t want to leave. But, Rhodes is a magical place and Nikos will customize an itinerary based on your time and interests. Special shout out to Julia, who was able to track down and retrieve a cell phone left in our rental car.

From the moment we arrived until we left, we were completely wowed. The room was absolutely fantastic, the breakfast was simply unbelievable, and the hospitality was altogether outstanding. We travel extensively, and I can truly say that this is one of the best small hotels that I’ve ever stayed at. Nikos and Angela made us feel completely welcome and at home. They even provided us with an app for our phone that had thoughtfully curated activities as well as restaurant recommendations tailored to us. It was a wonderful experience.

When a hotel and its hosts accomplish perfection coupled with warmth, it simply stays with you and delights long after you say goodbye. We have stayed at many beautiful, luxurious hotels in the US and Europe, but in my opinion, Kokkini Porta Rossa far surpasses them all, especially if you gravitate towards elegant yet supremely comfortable, smaller boutique hotels that express the local culture. Physically exquisite and inviting in its medieval renovations— so much so that passersby’s often entered, mistaking the hotel for a historical landmark— its designs are a feast for the eyes that beckon you to sit down, sip a cocktail that’s always offered by the incredible hosts Niko and Angela, and take in the decorative art, books, historical objects, and garden patio. Every spacious suite’s decor is unique and possesses everything the hosts can imagine you’d want: including ever- replenished complimentary fruit, wine, liquor, plus all sorts of items they predict may be needed by someone at some time (pull-out clotheslines in the bathroom, for example). Breakfasts on the patio are Angela’s creation, and are sumptuous and delicious; and every day is an opportunity to hear as much as you’d like from Nikos about how to improve on your daily adventures in Rhodes. His advice and knowledge are impressive, always tailored to your interests. I could go on and on, but very simply— magical.

We loved our experience at Kokkini Porta Rossa. Nikos and Angela were fabulous hosts and so generous in sharing their time and experience. The hotel is incredibly well located in the Old City and is truly beautiful and Angela's breakfasts were a highlight each day. Nikos touring tips were priceless, and we were able to visit some brilliant sites across the island. Highly recommended.

A home from home. Exceptionally engaging and knowledgable hosts, who still manage to respect your privacy. They went out of their way to make the stay as comfortable, enjoyable and memorable as possible. The daily planned itinerary, backed up on a dedicated tablet, was a unique touch. ||They went one step further and very quickly helped to sort out a medical issue I had on arrival. This kind of support is priceless.||We arrived as guests and left as friends…

From the moment we booked, the owner’s proactive outreach set an extraordinary tone. They aligned with our itinerary, recommending a fantastic local guide for a medieval town tour and arranging a seamless rental car for island exploration. They provided tablets with suggested driving routes and recommended eateries, even making dinner reservations for each night—flawless planning! A flight delay meant missing a self-guided walking tour they’d prepared, but their warmth never faltered. The property is stunning: our room was exquisite, the private dunk pool was a delight, and both private and public outdoor areas were ideal for unwinding. Complimentary drinks, including local liquors with their histories, were a highlight; they’ll craft any cocktail you desire. Live piano one evening created a magical vibe, perfect for our 10th anniversary. The family-run team’s care shone through, from the immaculate property to the to-go breakfast and coffee for our early departure. With so much to see in Rhodes, this hotel is the ultimate base—we’re already planning our return. A true gem for couples seeking luxury and heartfelt hospitality.
