"A setting within the medieval city center of Rhodes would be remarkable enough; in Kókkini Porta Rossa a local family has transformed a derelict house, long ago associated with the Knights of Saint John, into a richly detailed and uniquely atmospheric six-room boutique hotel. It’s an amateur production in the best possible sense of the word: made not out of professional obligation but out of sheer love of the place.
