Koko's Cafe Uptown

5/9/25 came here because my sis loves this place. So I came to check it out. The food is good but it's not like other places it seems less, but don't get me wrong the food is good. Service is great the waiter was very attentive. The environment was good too, even though it was packed. My parents had a chile relleno and a meat skillet of some sort I had a botana.

We had a group of 11 and they were ready to pull tables together for us. Service was great and the food very good. The prices were reasonable and we all had a great time.

Wife & I took a road trip through South Texas just to explore. Made it to the city of McAllen a bit hungry. No idea where to go. Google search began. List comes up. The heck with the reviews we decide. Just close eyes & point to one…. Now to the service & food. Service was quick & attentive & not overbearing 👍 Chips & Salsa first to the table. Chips a bit over fried but good. The 2 salsas were very very good! One had a nice smoky taste. The rice & Charo beans very very good!! Fajitas, enchiladas, guacamole and everything else all made for a Great meal & find. Will be back kinda place. Koko’s cafe ! If you live in the city & have not been aware of this little Gem. Go check it out. Passersby! Well for us 2. Wife & I.. when back in the area will definitely stop there again. AND reasonably priced! Thumbs up from start to finish!

Service was excellent. Jorge was our server and he was very attentive and friendly. We ordered the beef botana for one, and my wife had the beef fajita enchiladas. My fajitas were super tender and full of flavor. We could've really shared it as it was alot. I really enjoyed it. My wife enjoyed the fajitas enchiladas and said she would ordered these again as they were very good. The place was packed when we got there and waited about 15 minutes for a table but everyone was real attentive and friendly. Overall, we really enjoyed it and will be coming back again.

I go there for their botana platters, they don't skimp, always plenty of food/meat. The softest fajitas/chicken I've ever had at a restaurant. I was very impressed by the service, food quality, presentation of it, portions, taste, and the atmosphere. I would highly recommend this place.😋

Catered event: This was not the first time that we chose Koko's for catering and as usual, it was amazing! The food was kept hot and delicious, and the servings were very generous. All our guests raved about the food! The waiter made sure everyone that came in immediately had a drink and was very attentive the entire time. The staff was friendly and helpful and when they left, they left the place spotless! Highly recommend!

This was my first time going to this place. The menu has something for everyone. We had a very large party. They provided two servers. It took a while to take our orders. Food came in hot and fast. This food was delicious. The atmosphere was nice. I recommend this place for individuals or groups.

When in the valley, this is one of my go to's for Mexican food. I love the bean and cheese nachos. Generous portion of bean and cheese deliciousness. My husband ordered the Koko special this time and commented on the small tender chunks of fajita wrapped in a soft, fresh, flour tortilla. So good.
