"Nikkei East Williamsburg spot Koko’s opened in January 2022, but the restaurant already flipped to a new concept in the same space, under the same owners. The bar, located at 588 Grand Street, near Lorimer Street, is now called the Last Call, with a yakitori menu, the team tells Eater. Last call at Last Call is 2 a.m." - Emma Orlow

Cute place. Food was pretty good. The cooked hamachi was very good. The liche ceviche was interesting and worth trying but didn't love it. Good salty and sour flavor but didn't like the texture/taste of the fried corn. The salmon tartare was good. Yuzu cake was good (reminded me of lemon meringue pie).

Was here for brunch. Very cute place! The food is quite good—Peruvian with a twist. As you’d expect from Peruvian, the presentation is on point. Excellent drinks. Fast service. My favorite dishes were ceviche (although I’d prefer fish cut smaller) and French toast (melts in your mouth yet has that nice toasty crunch). Also tried pork bao but the meat could have been softer. The chicken in the chicken and waffles also wasn’t super tender. Still, I’d come back to try their dinner menu.

Amazing meal! We went around 3pm and caught the end of the brunch menu. Ended up ordering multiple things- scallop, Japanese potato salad, chicken and matcha waffles, lucuma French toast, and a pork belly bao bun. All were delicious with nice presentation and complex flavors but the stand outs were definitely the potato salad, scallop, and the French toast. The vibe inside is also really cool, looks like it would be a great spot for happy hour.

Props for having the first Nikkei style restaurant in nyc area that I’ve experienced (I could be wrong). Although I am not quite sure if this is Nikkei or Nikkei inspired. The happy hour specials are great and there a great deals to be found. We ate a mix of happy hour and regular menu items. Recommend the Macchu pisco cocktail. The ceviche was interesting and tasty although something was lacking to bring it over the top to five stars. The takoyaki were tasty and not traditional. I think they might have been deep fried. The salmon tartar was good, but I could do without the mound of squid ink. I ended up just swiping the salmon off of it. The really enjoyed the octopus dish. Quite flavorful and tender, my favorite. The tornado potato was good, needed a touch more salt although my taste buds could have been impacted by salty soy based ceviche. Overall, I would give them a couple more months to figure it out. I think they have what it takes to go from 4 to a 5.

This is a great spot for Japanese-Peruvian drinks and food! We ordered off the happy hour menu (4PM to 7PM) and a dish off the regular menu plus their Yuzu Pie. Everything was beautifully plated and tasty. Drinks were delicious. Bonus: They play Studio Ghibli movies in the back on a projector screen 😄

Amazing food and drinks! Happy hour is a great deal, but the food was the real star. All the dishes were synergistic and spectacular, some of the best executed fusion cuisine I have ever tried. I hope to come again soon!

Even though I’d prefer a lil more sour the ceviche it still The best ceviche I’ve tried in the us. Perfect for a hangover brunch with friends. So for me the ceviche was 4.7/5 and pan con chicharrón and the burguer were 5/5: Sooo delicious. Definitely going back for diner dishes . Excelente customer service btw.

Incredibly tasty and intricate dishes. This was my first time sampling Japanese Peruvian (Nikkei) cuisine. Noriko, the server, even shared a bit of Japanese Peruvian history with me which made my eating experience all the more fun. I got both maitake and fried pollo baos, ceviche nikkei, takoyaki, and the salmon tartare. My personal favorites were the Ceviche Nikkei and Salmon Tartare. Definitely coming back!!
