NYC’s New Restaurant Openings - New York - The Infatuation

"At this halal Cantonese restaurant in the West Village, you’ll find both hot noodle soups with braised beef, as well as summertime-compatible cold noodle dishes. I ordered the shredded chicken cold noodles and they were delicious! My friend ordered the classic braised beef noodle soup and loved it too! The staff was really friendly and helpful. The restaurant is beautifully designed and very clean. Our food came out quickly and we really enjoyed eating here. The portions were generous and affordable, so we didn’t leave feeling hungry. We would definitely come back again! Also noticed that they are halal.

New Halal Asian Place opened up. We first walked in, it gave a nice impression, Place is clean and big. A lot of seating, and nice dining area. The food was really good. We got beef fried rice, wasn't oily at all and flavorful. We also go beef lo mein and the General Tso Chicken. Both were really good and flavorful. We also got drinks as well. PLUS: Food comes out quick, they don't play with their service Would definitely go back to try different items, as their menu is huge. Definitely give this place a try.

Great place to come to with friends and family. They had a good variety of food to choose from and everything we tried was quite delicious. The Cantonese Beef Noodle Soup and Fried Rice W. Roasted Peking Duck was around an 8/10. The Stir-Fried Beef was my favorite and was definitely a 10/10. The Chicken Skewers were kind of basic so 7/10. I didn't enjoy the Crispy Roasted Duck Dumplings much - it was like a 4/10. The Jasmine Tea was refreshing. Besides the food, the customer service was absolutely phenomenal. The waiters and staff were patient and polite. They were also very attentive, bringing us our food in a timely manner and periodically checking up on us. 10/10 service.

It was my first time visiting KOL Noodle, and the environment was spotlessly clean and cozy — a perfect mix of modern and welcoming. The service was excellent; the staff were incredibly friendly and patient. We ordered the pan-fried beef noodles — the noodles were crispy and flavorful, and the beef was unbelievably tender with rich layers of taste. The braised beef clay pot was melt-in-your-mouth good and deeply savory. The chicken char siu buns were soft, slightly sweet, and full of flavor. The pan-fried chive and shrimp dumplings were crispy and aromatic, and the shrimp with broccoli was fresh, bouncy, and perfectly cooked. Everything exceeded our expectations. This place is absolutely perfect for gathering with friends and family. I’ll definitely be back to try more dishes!

Can’t wait to come back and try more from their extensive menu! Came to Kol Noodle with my family for lunch on a Sunday and we were seated quickly. We all loved everything we tried, from the black truffle dumplings (so good), crabmeat and shrimp dumplings (very succulent), and our favorite, the scallop and shrimp dumplings. The fried chicken wings with garlic were super crispy and flavorful! We got Singapore noodles that were so nostalgic and yummy, shrimp lo mein which was genuinely so good and not greasy at all, as other places sometimes have. We tried the braised beef brisket clay pot which was yum and the longli and tofu clay pot which was another family favorite! Lastly, we haddd to try the general tsos chicken- soo good, will definitely come back to get that again. The refreshers were so yummy, definitely recommended the mango green tea one. So glad we have a yummy halal spot like this. Everything was perfect, fast & kind service. Definitely recommend for any groups, or people who want a delicious and hearty Cantonese meal!

The Beef Shumai was so good we ordered two more!! Music also was at a perfect volume, not so loud that we couldn't hear each other. Everyone was so friendly - thank you! We're so happy to have found a halal dim sum spot.

Very expensive halal Chinese in the NYC. No parking . Little bit wait time . Food is ok. Chicken kabab wasn’t well cooked and chicken mix rice had no salt at all.

Everything was really yummy! They didn’t have the beef shumai with cheese so we just got plain beef shumai— I liked it but not everyone in the party did. We loved everything else, esp. the classic braised beef noodles and the stir fried beef with fermented bean sauce. Sahara our server was also very sweet and so was the rest of the staff!

Yelp
I am so happy that NYC finally have halal dimsum! I tried some of the dimsum : - Black truffle mushroom dumpling, the least favorite, the wrapper and fillings are too goey. - Scallop & shrimp dumpling, I like the filling, but not so much on the wrapper. - Crabmeat & shrimp dumpling, the wrapper are too thick, but the fillings were good. - Crispy duck dumpling, love it. - Pan fried shrimp & chives dumpling, the best!! - Beef shumai, the worst (sorry). - Chicken shumai, just okay. - Chicken feet, the sauce is good, but the chicken is too fishy/smelly. So overall, their dimsum fillings are good but the wrapper is not what I like. It's too chewy for me. I will order more the pan fried dumpling next time. I also tried their fried rice with peking duck, which is good, and beef chow fun stir fried that taste amazing!!! I will comeback regularly because of that. The place is immaculate! Not only the seating area, but also their restroom is very clean and nice. The staff are very kind, welcoming and helpful.

Yelp
This venue, already well regarded as a high quality and good value asian restaurant, retains these advantages under new ownership. In fact the new management have redecorated, entailing better lighting and layout. Service staff here combine first rate timing and freedom from errors or omissions; all the while retaining an unforced famiarity which is the sort of thing which encourages nearby customers to make return visits. Since reviewers who published before I submitted this review have presented high praise on the kitchen I will simply say here that I am entirely in agreement with their highly favorable assessments.

Yelp
Such a great option for the area - it's giving modern Taiwanese with braised beef noodles and beef cold noodles, with some apps that serve as mains. On opening day they were serving entrees on the house, which was pretty sweet! There was minimal wait to be seated but first day operations needed to be smoothed out. I was seated with my friend and her family at the first booth and after we ordered, we were basically forgotten about for 40 mins. I didn't think to ask since I didn't wanna be annoying but after seeing a couple that came in way after us being served, I went to ask and then was served and brought water after about 5 mins. That was a little frustrating but considering it was on the house on the first day I suppose it's "ok". The food itself was pretty good - the beef from the braised beef soup ($17) was super tender and my friends mom loved the noodles. I really enjoyed the noodles from the beef cold noodles ($17) (it was a thinner noodle with a sesame soy sauce I think) and the beef here was leaner and firmer. My friends kids really liked the food and especially the chicken spring rolls ($11) which were freshly fried and had lots of mushrooms inside! It was super bustling for the first day and it looks like you can usually order from the kiosk and then take a seat so this waiting issue that happened to me likely won't happen again. The lady in charge was kind and seeing that the kids liked the spring rolls, brought us some more! If it wasn't for the waiting mishap, this would've been an amazing experience. I will likely be back regardless. People seemed to struggle to know where the entrance is - I had to help the couple that was served before me find the right door lol which is all the way to the left!

Yelp
Kol Noodle is a new entry in the 14th street area for Halal style noodles and dim sum. Stopped here for lunch and was impressed! Beautiful atmosphere, friendly service. I had the chicken garden salad with home style tahini that was superb. The chicken was fresh and grilled just right. Along with it was black sticky rice, cucumbers, red romaine, broccoli and red peppers topped with a Bim n Bap egg that made this dish a winner. Definitely coming back.

Yelp
Visiting NYC and was happy to see a halal Chinese spot that serves dim sum. The place is in Greenwich and close to the subway station. Restaurant is clean and staff are friend and attentive. We ordered some dumplings, duck fried rice, general tso chicken and beef chow fun. Everything was delicious!

Yelp
I came in here with my wife not too long ago and had an inadequate experience to say the least. The food came out cold and the dim sum wasn't the best; the shrimps they use are severely undercooked and the garlic chicken wings were pink on the inside. absolutely disgusting. My wife is 4 months pregnant and I had to take the plate away from here the minute I saw that. The overalls ambience is alright, but the service? Horrible. My wife and I were continuously getting approached by a young lady in a hijab every 5 minutes about our food. I understand that might be a restaurant standard here but it was absolutely ridiculous and annoying. Management here seriously needs to reevaluate their policies.

Yelp
Great place for chinese halal food. We ordered cold noodles wonton soup noodles dumplings and singaporean rice noodles - we enjoyed all the food and the chilli oil as well! Attentive and kind staff.

Yelp
The food was so fresh, flavorful, and delicious! The staff were also very kind and helpful with recommending dishes. Plus, HALAL Chinese food? I will definitely be back!

Yelp
I tried some dumplings here because it was right on 14th and there were several people eating inside, including a couple of larger groups. All three dumpling dishes were terrible. Big pieces of celery and other frozen vegetables, too salty, gross! I continue to be surprised by restaurants like this having good reviews.
