We had a truly lovely experience at Kolkata Cricket Club at Crown Melbourne. From the moment we arrived we were warmly greeted by our hosts Jordan and Marmit who set the tone for an exceptional evening. The service throughout was absolutely outstanding. Jordan was excellent at recommending a wine that perfectly complemented our food selection and was extremely knowledgeable about the menu helping guide us on what to order with confidence. Marmit was equally impressive attentive professional and genuinely welcoming. This was a business lunch with a very important client and he was extremely impressed by both the service and the food. The Bengali butter chicken was a standout classic and so was the prawns however every single dish we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. Dessert we ordered one of each and they were yummy!!Jordan and Marmit elevated the entire experience and their brilliant service made the lunch memorable. We will absolutely be returning and highly recommend Kolkata Cricket Club for both business and special occasions.☺️😋

Good take on Bangla and North Indian Cuisine. Flavours were close to authentic. Very nice ambience, great seating, super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Flavours overall could have been taken up a notch. The lamb cutlets and the seekh kebabs were nicely charred and juicy. Butter chicken was flavoursome, Prawn malaai curry was super tasty and the prawn heads were a Knock out. The kosha mangsho texture was superb and definitely cooked to "kosha" but lacked the real garam masala and caremelised true flavour profile. Deserts were quite ordinary and the mocktails were quite disappointing. Overall a decent experience with a semi fine dining take on Indian cuisine.

Kolkata Cricket Club at Crown Melbourne is a restaurant that arrives with expectation. The setting is polished and atmospheric, the welcome warm, and the service attentive throughout the evening. The bar, in particular, deserves praise, boasting an impressive and well-curated collection of whiskies and wines that suggests a serious dining experience. The drinks, however, set an early tone of inconsistency. The Negroni and Old Fashioned were competently executed but lacked distinction (3/5). The Aam Panna mocktail, on the other hand, was entirely devoid of character — little more than flavoured soda without the expected tang or depth (0/5). Entrées showed flashes of promise. The Seekh Kebab was well-seasoned and satisfying (3.5/5), while the Scallops were cooked with confidence and restraint (3.5/5). The Spatchcock Chicken Tandoori looked the part, with a pleasing char on the exterior, but fell apart on tasting — excessively salty within, making it difficult to enjoy (1.5/5). The mains continued this uneven trajectory. Kosha Mangsho, a dish that demands patience and depth, was one of the stronger offerings: rich, aromatic, and well balanced (4/5). In contrast, the restaurant’s signature Chingri Malai Curry disappointed. While the prawns were cooked perfectly, the curry itself was surprisingly bland, lacking the coconut richness and gentle sweetness the dish is known for (3/5). Portion sizes across the mains were notably small for a restaurant of this calibre and price point, to the extent that an additional main had to be ordered mid-meal. That decision proved unfortunate. The Butter Chicken was the weakest dish of the night — thin, watery, and almost entirely flavourless, bearing little resemblance to the dish it claims to be (0/5). It appeared to share the same base as the Malai Curry, further highlighting a lack of distinction in the kitchen’s approach. Dessert, a Crème Caramel, was pleasant but unremarkable (3/5). In summary, Kolkata Cricket Club excels in ambience, hospitality, and beverage selection, but the kitchen struggles with consistency, portion size, and flavour depth. There is clear potential here, but at present, the execution does not justify the reputation or the pricing. A restaurant with such a strong concept deserves a far more confident and cohesive culinary performance. We paid around 470 in 3 People with dissapointment.

I had the lamb mince egg entree it was quite nice the sauce that it came with was delicious. The butter chicken was also quite good but definitely much milder than most butter chickens I’ve had, very distinct Smokey taste to it which was different also to most I’ve had but all in all good. The chicken itself was great. The garlic naan lacked a bit of flavour. The rice was good. Very small menu I must say.

Enjoyed the standard set menu. My favourite was the Matcha Kulchar ohh and the Goat 🤤. Everything was tasty and we loved 90% of it. Didn’t love the Puchka and the desert, they were ok though. We were absolutely stuffed afterwards and the service was excellent. Great atmosphere and we’re looking forward to coming back. Thank you 🙏

Loved the service, ambience and the food. The mains were spectacular, truly wholesome. Cocktails were great (old fashioned). Omg those scallops and Seekh kebab were fab! Something to work on is the king fish salad, it’s definetly an acquired taste if you like a hit of mustard. Didn’t like getting a few bones in there :( But overall all the favs were there and honestly was one of the best fluffy naan breads I’ve had in ages. And lastly that sauce for the prawns… mate you need to bottle that or sell it as single shots - bloody wicked good :) - if the Latin spots can do ‘Leche Tigre’, you can easily make a ‘BTS’ Bengal Tiger Shot!

Fantastic meal every time we visit Kolkata cricket club!! From being greeted at the door by manmeet to the end of the meal the staff were very attentive and friendly. Aryan explained the menu very well and recommended that we try dishes from each section of the à la carte menu. Also we had a nice bottle of Pinot noir from burgundy. Would certainly come back for more food.

Very impressed trying a restaurant in crown that I had not been to before. Great service all night from staff, went above and beyond to make the dining experience amazing. Portions were good but not the best, but this is fine dining and we did not order off the set menu. Which made wait times between meals a bit long but it was during peak time.
