We had an incredible dining experience at Kolkata Cricket Club, opting for the 5-course menu—and what a treat it was! At $95 per person, the menu offers amazing value. The portions were generous, and we left feeling absolutely satisfied. From start to finish, the service was flawless. Both managers were present on the floor, incredibly friendly, and went out of their way to explain each course and accommodate a few custom requests. The food runner also stood out—professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to introduce each dish as it was served. Every course was beautifully presented and packed with flavour. The dishes showcased a perfect balance of creativity and authenticity, and you could tell a lot of care went into each plate. The atmosphere was warm, stylish, and inviting—ideal for a night out with friends or family. Overall, we loved our experience and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended!

Excellent dinner! Ambience cracking good on a Friday night. Service very personable from genuinely friendly staff. Butter chicken on par with the best we have tried, Seekh kebab and the Prawn curry was insanely delicious, and for a venue like that doing Indian seafood cuisine so well, it’s pretty unique in Melbourne’s culinary landscape. Will definitely be back!

Still thinking about our feast at Kolkata Cricket Club last Friday… we went all in and honestly, worth every bite 😍 From the moment the prawns hit the table, we knew we were in for something special. The scallops? Perfectly cooked and packed with flavour. The goat was fall-apart tender, rich and comforting, and the smoked mushrooms might have been the unexpected star of the night. Every dish was a hit, layered with spices, generous portions, and so full of soul.

Good take on Bangla and North Indian Cuisine. Flavours were close to authentic. Very nice ambience, great seating, super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Flavours overall could have been taken up a notch. The lamb cutlets and the seekh kebabs were nicely charred and juicy. Butter chicken was flavoursome, Prawn malaai curry was super tasty and the prawn heads were a Knock out. The kosha mangsho texture was superb and definitely cooked to "kosha" but lacked the real garam masala and caremelised true flavour profile. Deserts were quite ordinary and the mocktails were quite disappointing. Overall a decent experience with a semi fine dining take on Indian cuisine.

My recent visit to Kolkata cricket club Indian restaurant in Crown, was a delightful experience overall. The food was exceptional, bursting with authentic flavors. The butter chicken was creamy and perfectly spiced, while the butter garlic naan was soft and fragrant. The Saag paneer had a rich aroma and balanced spices, showcasing the chef’s expertise. However, the menu was somewhat limited, offering fewer options than expected, which might disappoint those seeking variety. The decor was a highlight—elegant and warm, with vibrant Indian artwork and soft lighting creating a cozy ambiance. The intricate wall designs and traditional touches transported us to India, enhancing the dining experience. The staff was incredibly friendly, greeting us with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. However, service was a bit slow, with orders taking longer than anticipated, which could be frustrating for those in a hurry. The food also took some time to arrive, though the quality made the wait worthwhile. Despite the limited menu and slightly slow service, Kolkata Cricket Club offered a memorable evening. The delicious food, charming decor, and welcoming staff made it a place I’d recommend for a relaxed dining experience. Overall, a great spot for authentic Indian cuisine.

Delighted with the butter chicken at this spot! Rich, creamy sauce and tender chicken. Flavors were well-balanced and authentic. Cozy atmosphere and attentive service added to the experience. Highly recommend for Indian food lovers! The portion size on the other hand is quite small for the 38$ price tag. In the duck roti my slice had limited meat pieces which i was quite displeased to. Lamb curry was the favourite dish with many pieces of meat at a desirable flavour.

The food was average and quite overpriced for what you get. It also doesn’t really capture the authentic Indian taste you’d expect from a place with this name. A bit of a let-down overall. ✅ Pros - Nice concept/theme around cricket & Kolkata - Friendly staff and decent presentation ❌ Cons - Average food quality - Expensive compared to portion and taste - Lacks authentic Indian flavour

21/06/2025 – We ate here on a chilly evening in June (Winter Solstice) and the restaurant was certainly getting into the theme of winter, with the AC cranking and the place colder than Antarctica. I had on 5 layers of clothing, including a large scarf and heavy jacket and I could not remove any of them as it was so cold in there. We ordered a nice bottle of Wirra Wirra Chardonnay to warm us up which did help but really, the restaurant should turn on the heaters. We ordered the STANDARD SET menu for $95pp. Food all very lovely with some of the CHAAT SNACKS being rather spicy, which was great. Our biggest complaint, besides the frigid temperature was the service. The issue with the service was not that it was too slow, but that it was extremely fast. We sat down at 6:40pm, ordered the food by 6:45pm, then it started to arrive by 6:50pm, with the first three dishes coming out and we were yet to even finish these, when more arrived. Luckily the tables are large (so we could fit all the food) and well spaced apart and the atmosphere is good for talking. We were yet to even finish the five CHAAT SNACKS (which included a lot of food, with bread, kebab, etc) when all of a sudden the mains arrived. This was beyond ridiculous. The timing gave us no time to process the food and we felt like they were trying to push us out prematurely even though it wasn’t an overly busy night. We switched the goat for the prawns and they were very nice, though only getting one prawn each was a little disappointing. The butter chicken was yummy but for a high-end restaurant, it would have been nice to have something more adventurous that boring butter chicken. Luckily, they gave us a reprieve from eating with a longer break between the main and dessert. Dessert was a disappointment, however. Like all Asian cuisines, desserts are always below average and not worth eating. We had the Mishti Doi (yoghurt with pineapple) and it was odd and not a joy to eat. All up, the food (besides the dessert) was very nice, though the extremely fast service made us feel as though we were being forced out which put a downer on the night. The heating MUST be turned on and if they can’t afford it, then they should at least provide blankets or warn people before they come to bring one themselves.
