We have been clients of Kolonialen for seven years and have always loved the food, the French style, and the way the wines were presented.
Last Friday, however, the experience was very different. The restaurant seems to have lost its French identity. The fun sommelier who used to present the wines in an engaging and irreverent way is gone, and the food was just okay.
The frog legs arrived soaked in oil, without salt or pepper, and with a questionable sauce. The main courses were acceptable, but lacked flavor. The dessert was completely uninspiring, a kind of bread pudding with a white cream.
I truly hope the restaurant does not become just another standard place, without charm or a clear identity.
