Terrible food, terrible service, and bordering on fraudulent (see the second paragraph for details on this). Like many others, I was fooled by the iPad - my previous experience ordering from an iPad happened at MSP and it was a positive experience, so I thought it would be like that. Let's start with the food. The agedashi tofu was a joke. This dish is supposed to be served with a broth made from various Japanese ingredients and with some green onion on top. What I got was slathered in Sriracha sauce, I kid you not. This is the Asian equivalent of serving pasta with ketchup instead of proper sauce. The curry beef bowl wasn't as bad, but still sub-par. The texture of the beef was rubber-like and not tender at all, and the vegetables were undercooked. But hey at least they got the basic ingredients mostly right.
To make matters worse, they didn't have the beer that I wanted. Okay, fine, just remove it from my tab. Except, the waitress said she couldn't remove it until I closed the tab and finalized payment (which is already weird and suspicious). Then, without my agreement, she started pressing buttons on my iPad to close my tab, which included giving her the default tip of 18% - ON THE AMOUNT THAT INCLUDED THE BEER. Let me repeat: she reached onto my iPad and gave herself a tip THAT I DID NOT AGREE TO. And again, she tipped herself the amount that included the beer, and later refunded the price of the beer (but not the proportional amount of tip). So basically I ended up giving her something like a 25% tip that I did NOT agree to! Fortunately my credit card company readily refunded me the corresponding amount when I disputed the charge, but this is shady as hell, bordering on fraudulent.
Oh yeah, and service sucked all around. I really would have liked to not tip at all. They never refilled my water or cleared the plates when I was done. If you're hungry and in Terminal C at LGA, I strongly recommend any other option over dining here.
