"In Sarasota, on the Gulf Coast, a place like the Kompose Boutique Hotel is novel indeed. The rooms dispense entirely with tropical motifs and Art Deco, opting instead for an industrial-chic look, complete with raw concrete and minimalist built-in storage. There’s a pool, a sauna, and a fitness center complete with Peloton bikes, as well as an in-house bar and café, and plentiful flexible workspace; there’s even a podcast studio." - Mark Fedeli

I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The room was spotless, very comfortable, and had a beautiful view. Every little detail was taken care of, which made me feel right at home. The breakfast was delicious and offered a great variety. The facilities —like the pool and common areas— were always clean and well-maintained. Plus, the location is perfect for exploring the area. I will definitely come back. Highly recommended! Thank you for such a special experience!

Excellent stay. Very hip and clean boutique hotel. Great staff. Shout out to the front desk employee on the night shift. Katie was extremely nice, knowledgeable and very helpful! I will definitely be back. Perfect for visiting the Ringling museum and local beaches. Very safe, beautiful area.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had such a great experience thanks to two absolute stars—Angel behind the bar and Melody at the host stand! From the moment we walked in, Melody greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel welcome right away. She was kind, professional, and super accommodating—exactly the kind of energy you hope for when you’re out for the night. Angel was an incredible bartender! Not only is he super personable and easy to talk to, but he also makes an amazing drink. His Old Fashioned was perfectly balanced—smooth, strong, and just the right amount of citrus. And the Banana Espresso Martini? Next level. Rich, flavorful, and just the right twist on a classic. We couldn’t stop talking about it! Both Angel and Melody made the entire night feel special. Great service, great drinks, and an all-around awesome vibe. Can’t wait to come back!

Positives - The staff is wonderful! They are positive, accommodating and always have a warm smile. Melody was very awesome! The amenities are cool, trendy, very IG worthy. The location is central and most things you'd want to travel to are within a 15min drive. I'd definitely stay here again. Negatives - $200 deposit, didn't love the exposed drain in the bathroom. The wet room was cool and beautiful, but the drain smells a bit.

This is a really cool place to stay! We loved the decor and the overall vibe of the place was really modern and laid back. The service was excellent with very friendly people. Melody helped us at the front counter and she was so amazing and polite and helpful. Only room for improvement was our plumbing in the room was poor (low water pressure, toilet only flushed on the second or third attempt, etc.) otherwise everything was great!

My experience at this hotel was truly exceptional. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I felt welcomed and well taken care of. The staff was attentive and friendly, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere throughout my stay.||The room exceeded my expectations—clean, cozy, and thoughtfully stocked with everything I needed for a peaceful retreat. I also loved the location—conveniently close to fantastic dining spots and just a short walk to the beach, which made exploring the area effortless.||I want to especially recognize Melody at the front desk. Her kindness and professionalism stood out, and she consistently went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. Her personal touch made a big difference in my stay.||This hotel has definitely earned my recommendation, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. Many thanks to the entire team, and a heartfelt shout-out to Melody for her outstanding hospitality!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great hotel in Sarasota! I loved staying at Hotel Kompose. It’s modern, clean, and has a unique vibe. The gym is well-equipped and open 24/7 — perfect to keep up with workouts. Denny and Chris at the front desk were super friendly and helpful the whole time. The location is great for getting around Sarasota. I’d definitely stay here again!

Google
I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Kompose Hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive. Check-in was smooth and quick, and I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and comfort of my room. The bed was cozy, the linens were fresh, and the view from the window was stunning. The hotel offers a range of amenities that made my stay even more enjoyable — the fitness center was well-equipped, and the breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety. I also appreciated the quiet, relaxing atmosphere throughout the property. What really stood out, though, was the excellent customer service from Danny at the front desk when we arrived/checked in. Every staff member I interacted with went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed. It’s clear that this hotel prioritizes guest satisfaction. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-managed, and welcoming place to stay. Five stars!

Super Friendly staff and very clean facilities. The pool is very nice and the restaurant is so good! The rooms were clean and spacious with very fun decorations!

Yelp
So, for someone who stays at high-end hotels, I cannot compare this to a W or a JW Marriott , Gaylord etc. what I can say is, since this is literally right next to the airport I was expecting a motel. This hotel has done anything and everything in its power to give it a very luxury high-end feel and look. The front desk staff is ridiculous! They all look the part and are so helpful and amazing. Even the overnight person is incredible. The ambience is great. The decorations are really tasteful and cool. definitely get the breakfast. The breakfast is not some basic bread and butter breakfast. They have so many cereal, options, eggs, bacon, waffles, and pancakes. They even have yogurt and fixings for it! GREAT coffee too. dislocation was reserved by my company through booking.com. I think there were some type of miscommunication because I continuously kept getting charged overnight. But I spoke to the manager and he was so helpful and corrected my issue. i'm a little spoiled so I probably won't come back here. Like the luxury amenities. The pool by the beach. But if I came here solo, I would definitely be happy in this place. So for a business hotel, too cool, amazing food, customer service and clever and fun marketing. 10/10 for what it is. Again.... I cannot stress enough, how amazing the front desk staff was. Pleasantly surprised.

Yelp
This is definitely more a "hip" hotel. The rooms has exposed concrete on the walls and ceiling, which makes it so you can't hear your neighbors. The floor is a concrete tile. The bed is very comfortable and made for a great night sleep. Bathroom step up is a little different with the sink being by the bed. Shower has some of that cool privacy glass which can be turned on and off by a switch. Speaking of switches, it'll take you a minute to find out how to turn off all the lights in your room. Switch placement in the room could be much better. If you're craving a snack they do have a restaurant and a little store to buy snacks. It's card only at their store, and you can't charge to your room. Parking seems very safe. They have a gate that closes at night. It's very close the airport as well. Staff seemed friendly during my staff, didn't interacted with them other than to check in. If you just need somewhere to lay your head at night, stay at a holiday Inn. If you'd like a more " bougie" hotel, this could be an option for you.

Yelp
This was my husband and I's 4th or 5th stay and I'm definitely disappointed. When we arrived the staff was nice as usual. I asked for an accessible room as I know that is the only way in this place you get a real bathroom. He didn't even know this kind of room existed. They didn't have any but no biggie. We get to our room and there's a funky smell. I know my nose is sensitive so I step out and back in and it smells like someone just finished doing their business in the bathroom. They switched our room. This was worse. It was MUSTY. But my husband didn't want to go through moving again as it was taking time away from our day. So we went and bought a candle along with a blackout curtain because the door to the patio is uncovered for reasons. The next day they put an ozone purifier in the room. That cleared the must but revealed the stench coming from the drains. There was also no full length mirror in this room that had clearly been taken out. Part of the shower set up was missing so there was only the overhead and the remaining part where the other shower head used to be. Our hot water in our sink wasn't working. As others said, both elevators sound and feel horrible. Like not being sure it's gonna make it all the way. There looked to be blood on the carpet in the hall on our floor. I think at least 2 or three rooms had people smoking serious weed even thought this is supposed to be a smoke free hotel with signs all over the place. They initially did a great job with this hotel. I don't mind the a la carte nature especially for the price BUT it's like they set it up and made it pretty and left it. It's only been 3 years since our 1st stay and the quality should not have slipped this quickly. And I super don't like the staff pretending to care and act like they don't know about the issues. Multiple people during our stay had room swaps due to the smell so you know they know there is a sewage issue but get money right. I really don't know if we'll be back. There are too many hotels in the area that are phenomenal to let things go like this. I fear if they don't improve this will soon be like a trap motel or just closed in general. Do better

Yelp
Overpriced food. Had to wait for my room until 6 because of no clean towels. And teenagers that are not nice checked me in

Yelp
This is our third stay here in the last two years. This time was not a great experience. It's seems the hotel keeps going down hill and fast. I'm in the hotel industry and thought this place was amazing when I first came here in 2022. We were there last week and so many things turned me off. The room.... the floor was so dirty that my feet were black just walking from the bed to the toilet. The toilet paper hanger was just hanging there broken. The pressure of the shower was like a trickle at times while you are showering. No Kleenex and only one garbage can. Beds seemed Lumpy this time and the pillows too hard. The pool area.... Not cleaned that day and those catapillers with the toxic hairs on them were floating everywhere. No one wanted to go in. Hot tub was broken all three days I was there. Furniture is all dirty from tree debris so we didnt even go out to the pool. Staff is friendly and try to be helpful with the knowledge that they do have. Not sure if we are coming back. Especially after reading the other reviews from the past month concerning bed bugs and cockaroaches. Clean up your act Kompose and be the clean and classy place you wanted to be.

Yelp
Same experience as Jean T! loud noises above us both nights. Front desk wouldn't answer phone for hours early on. Rude gal at front desk didn't care in am. spoke with manager who said we'd get discount and never received. called about it and was told to contact corporate (even tho hotel had our info!) and never heard back from corporate. We love modern but rooms felt more prison like. No water pressure in shower and hotel help said they were aware of it! Yet you still rent rooms with a dribble of water? Loud rooms due to airport next door. we paid extra for balcony we never used due to closed in cell feeling, no comfortable seating and half wall parking lot view. Really bad experience

Jean T.

Yelp
Our first night was a nightmare. we told the clerk the next morning and she gave me the email address and phone number of a manager, who never responded to my email nor my phone number. I called later in the day and spoke with Judy who was rude and hung up on me. I told my travel agent who booked our room and and she called Judy. suddenly, I get a call from Judy wanting to make things better..why couldn't she be like this the first time instead of hanging up on me? when we returned home I put a review of our experience at Kompose Hotel and immediately got a call from Alba at the Kompose Hotel. she said they wanted to give me a 20% discount for our inconvenience. it has been almost 3 weeks and no discount has showed up on my credit card. This hotel does not project hospitality or comfort as far as we are concerned! Save your money.

Yelp
Just stopped in for one night and decided on this hotel. The lobby was beautiful and the rooms are very cool, much different than your typical hotel room. The elevator was making some very scary sounds and jerked a lot and one time started going up before the door was even closed so we ended up using the stairs in fear of getting stuck. Overall it was a good, quick stay.

Luke H.

Yelp
BEWARE - I found bed bugs in my bed. I let the staff know and they replied "ewwww, others have been complaining about the same thing recently!" They are knowingly booking up rooms while the hotel is infested with bed bugs. Stay clear of this place. I had to throw away all of my belongings so that I did not bring bed bugs into my house. I contacted their corporate office and asked them to compensate me for my ruined belongings and they wouldn't. Through the entire process, their communication was extremely unprofessional. Their problem quickly became my problem. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else. Attached is a picture of an actual bed bug found in my bed

Yelp
This place was exactly what my family and I needed for a few days. We booked our stay for one night since we were in town for a trial and unable to predict if we would be prolonging our trip or not. The hotel was lovely, and staff was very friendly. The room was gorgeous, but I cannot talk enough shit about the mattresses. For this being a new hotel, the mattress is all spring. The customer service made up for our sleeping experience which makes sense why the bar was so packed.

Robin S.

Yelp
OMG love this hotel. Love the rooms. Love the check in. I am barefoot in the room and my feet are not dirty. Clean, relaxing, love the cement walls. So awesome. My new favorite hotel.

Sofia Z.

Yelp
I typically am not one to write a review but I was deeply disappointed with this hotel. To start off on a positive note, the gentleman who checked us in on May 2nd at 1am was probably the best part of the experience as he was very kind and funny despite it being so late at night, he was a pleasant first face to see. It all went downhill from there though. When we first got to our hotel, we noticed black hair in our shower and a random fork in the mini fridge, there was dust everywhere and it seemed as though the floors had not been cleaned. We tried to give them the benefit of the doubt due to our great check in experience, but soon the bad outweighed the good. If you want your sheets changed there's a 9 dollar fee each time they do that. They only gave us 2 towels and if you want more you have to go down to the lobby to ask- when I went to ask, they only had beach towels available. We then woke up to random dripping noises thinking the shower wasn't fully off- upon further inspection we found out there was a large leak in the roof that soaked all our stuff that was on the table by the sink- we quickly moved our things out of the way and went down to the lobby where we informed the front desk of the leak. The guy at the front went upstairs with us to see it for himself (sids note: when I told this guy about how dirty our room was at check in he didn't believe me and gave me a weird look like it's my fault) When he first saw the leak he expressed how it was obviously very large and more than he expected but he then made an excuse about it being from the fridge condensation... he wanted us to stay in the same room and just send someone in to try and fix the problem while we were there. Who knew what that leaking substance was? Sewage? Hazards waste? I practically had to beg him to let us just get a different room- even then there was no upgrade or apology or anything to help make it up to us. He didn't offer any solutions and I had to come up with my own ideas to present it to him (I'm happy to elaborate more on this if you'd like). He then told us there are no other rooms available and when I pushed back and said we can't stay in a room with a leak- then he said there is a room. He thought we would just put up with it. We had damaged things from the leak and they didn't bother to offer anything at all to compensate (no free night, no upgrade, no free cleaning... nothing!) I woulda had better luck staying at the Budget Inn. Not to mention our new room smells like sewage. Our drain in the sink takes a long time to drain as if it's clogged- nobody bothers to fix it (it was like that in our previous room and it's like that now). There was a random black box in our room and we didn't figure out that it was a safe until we got our new room and realized it was supposed to be a safe but ours had the door ripped off on it. Additionally, the so called handle on the sliding shower door has been chipped off and left with a jagged metal edge that cut my friends hand- and there's no other way to open the door. Everything you could think of costs extra. This is the stingiest hotel I have ever stayed at.

Andrew R.

Yelp
Avoid at all costs. Flight cancelled (due to snow storms) day of stay and hotel refused to refund. Provided all supporting information and refused to discuss over phone... have to email "the manager" so they can deny without talking to you. Their "policy" is to steal your money. Made a bad situation even worse. Pathetic.

John B.

Yelp
Koncrete! Kreativity! Kool! That sums up Kompose Hotel. This visit was a Christmas present from my Fav Fab One. She booked a trip on a train, to a museum and a stay at this trendy new hotel. For me, she won the Triple Crown, baby! I had a pretty good idea of what to expect after reading so many glowing reviews. But it was even BETTER than I expected! Nothing prepared me for the whimsy that would hit me as we walked in that door! Pink chandeliers. Giraffes holding chandeliers. Light, bright and airy. It was an immediate good vibe. The staff took it to an even higher level! We were treated like royalty by Fina as she ably checked us in. She introduced us to George as he walked by. He greeted us like we were repeat customers. That was so awesome. Entering our Double Queen room was a hotel experience like no other. The first instinct might be a shocking 'Wow! this is stark and barren'. But upon closer inspection we could see there was great attention paid to every detail. Sure, we're looking at bare formed concrete walls. But I challenge ANY sounds to penetrate that barrier! This room was like being in the vacuum of space. I heard nothing from within the hotel and only the occasional muffled jet taking off from the nearby airport. It was a RELIEF to NOT hear slamming doors, kids running or elevators! Soooooooooo nice. I'd read some reviewers had issues with the bathroom situation. In particular, some said there was no door. There is a door. A sliding barn-type frosted glass door. Slide it one way and Voila! there is the toilet. Slide it the other way and you find the large walk-in shower. Between the vanity and the shower is the COOLEST glass 'window' ever! In normal mode, you can look into or out of the shower. But press a nearby button and that window becomes frosted! Now, you cannot look in or out of it! Talk about being The Jetsons! Right above the vanity is the prettiest self-lighted mirror with an integral lighted magnifying mirror built in. I am going to install one of these in our home, that's how much I loved it! The BEDS were really, really comfortable. In such a quiet and cool environment, both of us literally slept like babies. I figure THIS is the biggest PLUS for a hotel. Kompose nailed it! There's even a little sign under the bed 'Your suitcase can sleep down here!' Attention to detail. I guess IF I had to find any negatives, there would be only two things. I agree that the 'bathroom tissue' is a little thin, being only one ply. And I was surprised they had no Decaf coffee in the lobby breakfast area. Hmm. Here's the coolest part! We had such a great stay AND visit to the area that after we checked out, visited the museum and ate lunch we decided we wanted another night of Kompose hospitality. Yeah! We drove back and checked IN for ANOTHER night! We felt like we had friends waiting for us as we strolled into the lobby. We were greeted by Steve with his mile-wide smile, Jessica with the chandelier matching pink nails and Allie Wowie. George stepped in with his big masked grin(I know he was grinning) to welcome us back! In closing, I confess I took way MORE pictures of this hotel than I can ever recall doing elsewhere! I was obsessed with capturing the feel and the non-barren Je Ne Sais Quoi of Kompose. I do hope you'll linger longer to pick through my pics! We can't wait for a return engagement! Tell them John & Beth sent ya! Bonjour....

Yelp
Super nice staff, great hotel super close to the airport and to downtown. Highly recommend this hotel

Carole H.

Yelp
If you are using this hotel at the Sarasota airport you'll have to Uber or taxi the .02 miles to the airport. It doesn't provide a shuttle and it costs $27.00 to get to the hotel from the airport. A very kind staff member drive us to the airport to catch our flight. Better to park at the airport then go though the hassle.

Al C.

Yelp
We were scheduled to arrive last November 10, 2023 and check out on Monday. We ended up arriving late and witnessed a screaming match between two male guests and young girl behind the counter. The two guests were screaming and yelling that they had just checked in about 6 hours ago and they were bitten up by cockroaches bed bugs and silverfish. They said it's absolutely filthy dirty, and I said to them "well you think we should stay here"? He said I wouldn't let my dog stay here and I'm a medical doctor and director for this Sarasota area. I'm reporting them to the health department commissioner. Don't pay the bill and get your money back so we left and never checked in - what a disaster! STILL FIGHTING FOR A REFUND NOW MARCH 28, 2023

Abby-Ann Y.

Yelp
Good location. Friendly staff. My room wasn't clean, obvious traces of the last traveler like black hairs in the shower and remnants of things left behind. Design of the rooms is boutique style but leaves little room for privacy or storage of items. They have a breakfast but you have to pay for it.

Gabriela E.

Yelp
This hotel sucks is unprofessional and gettho everything looks better just in pictures.

Ele G.

Yelp
Ok. So. Clearly states NO SMOKING within 50ft of PREMISES. Otherwise $250 fine. That was never enforced. Cameras everywhere but no monitoring so no one is held accountable. Staff is very inexperienced in handling complaints and issues. Manager is green and has no understanding on how to ensure customer satisfaction. Premises are not maintained so doors and communal areas are filthy. Trash and food left in pool area over our 6 day stay. Suspected someone had entered our room when we were not present, manager refused to believe this and left us with no compensation to keep us satisfied. Terrible hotel. Oh and we think homeless are living under the first floor stairwell. One more thing..restaurant owners allow there ~10 year old daughter to roam unsupervised in the hotel office areas , whilst hotel premise is not secure. Child trafficking anyone‍. WTH

Katrina G.

Yelp
Who knew sheltering in place could be so Bougie. Kompose is refreshing yet structurally sound. The exposed minimalist chic concrete, although aesthetically pleasing offers comfort admits a near category 5 hurricane. The majority of the staff has been patient and delightful. It's obvious the stress of the impending storm is wearing on some. They do not have an easy job. My one complaint is that with the storm and lack of access to outside food, I wish the breakfast lasted slightly longer especially since aside from an almost empty vending machine.. there food selection is dismal. Regardless. I will 100% return .

Shauna S.

Yelp
What an amazing hotel full of style, fun and comfort! It looks like an art museum and is full of beauty and positive vibes from the wine bar, to the great gym, pool, jacuzzi, store and market. The room is modern, incredibly comfortable and the delicious breakfast is complimentary! Parking is free as well! I'm honestly so impressed with this hotel! A hidden gem that I highly recommended!!! Charming and lovely staff too!

Mike G.

Yelp
AVOID AVOID AVOID Just not worth the cost. You basically sleep in an extended toilet. Right off the bed is a sink. Next to it is a shower separated by wall next to the commode. A sliding glass door will either close off the shower or the toilet area - not both. Think prisoner in solitary. A bed, a sink and a toilet. Did not get maid service. When I complained the answer was "we are a boutique hotel." If anyone cares, a boutique hotel has less than 100 rooms, in an urban area and provides personal services. None of thee apply to this disaster. Wet or dirty towels? Make sure you leave them outside your door. Makes me wonder where they leave the clean ones? Probably in foot traffic. All this for $570 for two nights. And yes, I gave it five stars because I want this review to be read. It deserves 0.

Valentina L.

Yelp
This was my first time booking this through hotels.com. But I have to say I absolutely love the entire concept of it. It's simple. Edgy. And super hit. It reminds me of something I would see in Los Angeles where I come from. I love the cement walls. Obviously those are very soundproof. I love the magnifying mirror on top of the mirror. I love the sink. Which is gold! It's simply. Effective and neat. Not to mention the eco friendly environment. The hallways boast many inspirational quotes. As you walk down them. Above your head is strategically placed open plumbing which actually looks quite artistic. And there's a tiny little bar there. Just for the necessities. My only complaint is I wish the room had a few more plugs since this is a technological age. Especially on both sides of the bed instead of just one. Also some more food and bread options would be nice since there isn't really much of a restaurant. I would suggest more items to purchase to eat and more vegetarian options for sure. I love that there is massage, sauna, Jacuzzi, as well as a workout room. You really can't go wrong here! If you plan on traveling out on an airplane the airport is right next door which also makes it really convenient.

Kiara A.

Yelp
I went back and forth between 3 - 4 stars before finally landing on 3 stars and here's why: The Kompose Hotel is the definition of 'you get what you pay for.' This modern boutique boasts an exceptionally well-designed lodging experience that includes an impressive array of amenities including: a fitness center, sauna, pool, coffee shop, yoga hub, podcast/recording studio, jacuzzi, breakfast, and on-site (gated) parking. Talk about convince right?...That's where it gets tricky. Each of the services is a la carte, meaning you've got to pay an up-charge in order to experience any of these services. But, the hotel attracts a wide variety of folks because of their alluring price point of less than 90$/night. Meaning you get every spring breaker this side of the Mason-Dixon, every runaway bride, every vacationing newlywed looking for a cheap deal near the beach, families on their way to Disney, and anything in between. So just know that when you book here you could have a drunk man screaming outside of your room for 2 hrs like I did because he forgot what floor his frat bros were are on and/or a pitbull that gets off the leash and starts running around uncontrollably as they also attract a lot of folks as a 'pet-friendly' property. On the upside, if you get lucky enough, you get to experience this expertly curated hotel at an insanely affordable price point in the heart of Sarasota. You get to create a unique experience that's customized to you/r parties liking and enjoy the waterfall showers available in each room. I wasn't a fan of the cement floors and concert walls as they felt very sterile / Orange is the New Black-ish. Also, as a light sleeper, I was bothered by the noise, which travels better when bouncing off a void and empty space. But, noise and cement aside, if you chose the right day/time I could definitely see the appeal in this new take on hotel living. ALSO! There was a gal who checked me in-- Abby? /I can't remember her name-- but, she was PHENOMENAL and deserves all the kudos for her patient and kind demeanor. She remained calm and polite while the above-mentioned dog lost its entire mind in the lobby as she tried to check in multiple guests.

Elizabeth E.

Yelp
There are no coffee makers in the rooms and despite being adjacent to the airport there's no airport shuttle. Those make it a never again for me.

Christopher C.

Yelp
This a great little hotel near the airport. The walls are concrete and the whole thing is very minimalistic. Everything is very modern and clean. Stayed here multiple times. The beds are really comfortable. Its great for a business trip to the city.

Crystal G.

Yelp
Worst hotel ever! Rude AF $$ customer service the older staff "sabrina" was about to leave in a week and she called me names C word and more threatened me alot of bs and couldnt care less i told the staff one believed me bless her heart but the man austin i doubt he believed me when i left it was like they could have thrown the issue away in a trash can. I felt abused emotionally and energetically. Never have I ever felt so humiliated and abused by an employee that suppose to do their effing job in good customer service and not throw racist remarks and I think the C WORD is also abusive as well

Bill S.

Yelp
Highly recommend. Fun and creative place! Decorations in lobby are amazing! We loved the pool and hot tub.

Susan B.

Yelp
This hotel has lots of charm, a welcoming staff, and complimentary breakfast, all at a great price and at a superb location by the airport. Love the pool, hot tub and delicious mixed drinks served poolside. Try the Marguerita and the Bloody Mary!

Angie L.

Yelp
This hotel looks nice from the outside but don't let that fool you, the elevator barely works for one. You wait hours for a 5 floor hotel. I was charged $80 for a pet fee when it was exempt because she's a service animal. They charged me without telling me also. this is supposed to be pet friendly and the lady at the front desk said i was charged because she thought my dog peed on the floor??? I spilled water. You have no control of the AC so that's that. A motel is even better then this place. 0/100 never staying here again. Terrible experience.

Yelp
We booked for one night. upon arriving we found out they have a broken elevator, actually two. when asked how to get to our room, they suggested the stairs. I have a handicap that prevents me from climbing stairs easily. what if I had been using a wheel chair? Sorry for you! I am flabbergasted. There was no shower curtain in the bathroom and the air in my son's room did not work. Boutique hotel? Absolutely not anywhere near that level...

Yelp
Once upon a time I thought I had to spend $350 a night to have fun... but now that I have found Kompose I know better. I booked this hotel at 4am after just seeing a couple photos. The price whispered, "Yes child, this is a good business decision for you and your bank account." The concrete room pictures sold me as I thought, "If anything, staying in a concrete room will be a fun and unique experience!" Little did I know I accidentally found the coolest gem of a hotel ever! We arrived at midnight and when I walked into the lobby my jaw dropped. A purple chandelier. Another purple chandelier. A giant white giraffe holding a chandelier from its mouth. A purple neon light in fancy cursive. Plants hanging from the ceiling. It was like stepping into my dream: a fancy minimalist modern mansion... it was like Miami had a baby with Los Angles. My point is the lobby is GORGEOUS. The sweetest woman checked us in and made me feel like she would have baked me cookies right then and there if I had asked her to (don't worry I didn't.) She explained to me that it was a family owned hotel - which blew my mind. What family is this and they need their own TV show. I refuse to believe they exist unless they are the Kardashians because who could come up with such a glamorous place?!? I glance over and immediately melt as I set eyes on their pool and pool oasis - which looks just like the pool oasis at the Beverly Hills Hotel *droooling* We pass the amazing snack area on the way to the elevador: think Whole Foods level snack and candy options. We get to our floor and are greeted by another lovely neon sign which says, "it was all a dream." I open the door to the room and take a moment to take it in: concrete walls and ceilings and minimalist design. It is refreshing and immediately sends me into this downward spiral of regret: WHY AM I PAYING SO MUCH FOR HOTELS WHEN A PLACE LIKE THIS EXISTS?!? ‍ If you want a traditional shower door or painted walls then this might not be for you, but if you are open to a new experience then this is it. We stayed there and drove to Siesta Key each day, which was a quick and painless 20 minute drive. Oh, which reminds me... I left my giant shopping bag and wallet in the lobby for an hour on accident and no one took anything! The nice receptionist found it for me when I called and held it until I got back. I could go on and on about what fun we had but instead I think it's better if you just go and see it for yourself. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did and thank you Kompose for the lovely stay we will definitely remember - Who knew affordable luxury would be so much fun!

Yelp
We did a mini staycation at the Kompose Hotel, and we were pretty impressed by everything for the price. We really liked the modern artistic decor and architecture. Only complaint was that we had trouble using the AirPlay feature to the tv despite following directions to a T, but we got the other features to work. The staff were very nice and friendly, and the breakfast was great! It was a very nice spur of the moment mini vacay stay! And so close to the Ringling museum, too! Definitely recommend, and it will be interesting once they fully begin their À la mode services.

Yelp
My rating is based off the fact that I couldn't use an HDMI cord on the TV because of their software system they use on the TVs. Well really, their response to it. I was between places moving and really wanted to be able to game during my down time from work, and it had really been a stressful time recently. I called after being in the room maybe 90 minutes to ask about the TV. It took me maybe 8 calls to reach someone. Finally, someone answered and got me supervisor, I guess. Apparently they just don't have the capability to use an HDMI cord. The woman on the phone was okay, but I asked to leave and she just preached 'policy' and kept calling herself an 'enforcer of policy' because I had booked a non refundable room. I have had these refunded- it's always up to the hotel ultimately. She said she'd have the manager call me and I never got a call. At all. No resolution, they didn't really seem to care. Also, please get rid of your 'green' one ply toilet paper. I had better toilet paper in the public school I worked in.

Yelp
The Kompose Hotel really cool place! The staff has been great especially George (Jorge)! You walk the halls and there are cool expressions and awesome lighting. Very modernistic. The only small deal for us was the toilet paper, very thin. I would guess that helps with toilet stop ups and so I get that. Also the soap dish in the shower needs to have smaller openings as items can fall through. Again, not a big deal, especially when you figure in the nice pool, whirlpool, exercise room and even a Yoga room! The hotel was VERY quiet even being near an airport! The walls and ceiling are all solid concrete. We are very sensitive to sound so this was a big plus for us. Even the TV is the latest and greatest as it is a totally smart TV, great for searching the Internet and a rechargeable TV remote. They do run deals in rooms at times too, so look for those. Thanks George for making our stay great!!!

Yelp
I stayed here on a budget for a good price. Close to the airport, and a very trendy look to the hotel. Breakfast was an add on price but they had so many good options. Comfortable bed- Would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Awfully rude front of desk staff. A guest's arrival and check-in is the most important part of the customer service journey. I wanted to feel attended to, and most importantly welcomed. This is the first impression of your hotel.

Yelp
I chose the Kompose Hotel for its value and the fact that I was told by a desk clerk at the hotel that I could walk to it from the airport as it was only a ten- minute walk on a sidewalk. At midnight, its a bit of a nervous walk for a 75 year old woman, but Kompose does not have a shuttle and they did not tell me about the airport shuttle. The way was lite and I was the only one walking the route. I arrived after midnight with two pieces of luggage and a backpack to a closed car gate and a locked door. Not sure what to do, I called the reception desk. I assumed that one of the two people I saw at the desk would either raise the gate or unlock the door. The woman who answered did neither, said something I could not understand and hung up on me. Neither one of them came out to assist me. I pushed my luggage under the gate, ducked under and made my way to the desk. When I said I had to duck under the gate, the guy said "good" and left the area. The woman said she didn't know how to tell me to duck (English not being her first language). My room was fine if you like modern which means shelves instead of closets or bureaus. The thing that was more dangerous was the metal door stop in the middle of the room sticking out about one or two inches from the floor. Not expecting that, I stubbed my toe in my attempt to hang up my clothes. The next morning I clicked on the ckeckout email and gave my key to the young person at the desk, telling her I was checking out. I'm still not sure my attempts to checkout registered since I continued to get checkout requests. From my experience, next time I would try the Holiday Inn nearby and skip the Kompose.

Yelp
UMMM ..COVID...But more of that in a moment The Soho concrete rooms are spacious and the bed and linens comfortable. If you're comfortable with this exposed concrete "I'm staying in the garage"aesthetic...you'll like it just fine. I like it The suggestion that the rooms were "soundproofed" doesn't really hold water. Every door that slams in the corridors can be heard very distinctly. I was in a handicapped -accessible room so it had a "normal" bathroom with a regular door. Apparently that's not available in most rooms. This would be very uncomfortable for a family, friends, or people who were desiring privacy. The price for the facility was AMAZING for my stay and was an outstanding value As the purpose of my trip was to go to the Ringling museum... The location worked for me . You can walk there in 20 minutes or drive there in a couple of minutes But this is an airport -area hotel... So offers no restaurants in walking distance Public areas are whimsically designed and clearly intended for the Instagram- set The staff was friendly and accommodating. Ally is delightful and her staff is remarkably warm and friendly. I'm in the hospitality industry and would gladly hire any of them Things that are standard and most rooms come with additional charge... Like a coffee maker and housekeeping. But even adding on those charges it was still a good value for my stay Now to the issue if COVID. The staff was wearing masks... And most of them were wearing them properly, although it soon became clear that the folks were pulling them down. Housekeepers and some staff seem not to understand the "over your nose" protocol. Naturally, if these protocols are not being followed carefully in sight... They are not certainly not being followed in the kitchen or by housekeeping At this point in the game, if people can't figure out how to wear a simple face mask... well... I fully understand this area of Florida just doesn't care about masking and Covid... And as somebody in the hospitality industry I also fully understand it is nearly impossible to control what the guests do. But some effort would have been appreciated The restaurant is buffet -style... And since zero of the guests were wearing masks when I came down for breakfast... I decided to pass. Don't need a side of Covid with my scrambled eggs If you are concerned about Covid and mask wearing is an issue for you... You may wish to pass on this area completely... The stated mask policy... Which was masks in the lobby... is not enforced. As I was disinterested in getting into elevators with unmasked people... I would frequently have to wait for six or seven elevators before I had an opportunity to enter one safely. I was comfortable and physically able to take the external stairs... But as I was on an upper floor realize this might not of been an option for some people... Or if you're carrying luggage I was also surprised that the wheelchair -accessible guest rooms were located so far away from the elevators. Although folks in wheelchairs are perfectly capable of rolling down the hallway... It's uncommon to make them do so It is also important to note the second you place your reservation it is nonrefundable. Period. So despite the great price and the "fun" concept... One might want to think very carefully and just check into a conventional hotel... There are several on the block that cost slightly more. People concerned about masking and Covid should probably book an outdoor Motel or hotel to avoid the kind of cluster mess that is present in the lobby Set a two star rating as my experience based on my priorities... The product itself is good PS... Yelp has warned us, and it is quite obvious, that many of these reviews have been placed here either by the property or someone acting on behalf of the property

Yelp
The Kompose Hotel is very quiet and modern. Had convenient blackout curtains that let me sleep very peacefully. Cool arrangements on the walls with storage space. The bathroom was uniquely laid out and was very useful to use. Loved the encouraging signs anywhere I went. The breakfast had a varied amount of food and beverages. Was a little slow on the waffle maker because there was no spray oil but was really delicious with all the toppings! The front desk and staff were exceptional and super helpful to me and my entire family. I could practically live here! I would 100% recommend staying here!

Yelp
At $91 a night this was a decent hotel. Nothing fancy, it's like an upgraded hostel, but it's a really fun vibe for younger people and possibly middle aged. I dont think my grandparents would appreciate it though lol the front lobby has lots of snacks and a vending machine that basically microwaves food for you, including pizza and breakfast sandwiches. Sink is in the bedroom if that matters to you so it's definitely noisy and the light is there. Bathroom and shower have a shared door so if one is open the other is closed and vice versa. So overall it's a very cute boutique hotel but i wouldn't stay long term.

Yelp
I loved this hotel all modern, classic, elegant, I recommend it 100% if you are going to visit Sarasota, and the delicious breakfast and at a very good price and I would like to thank George very attentive with my stayed

Yelp
The hotel has that distinct "Pinterest" style of decor all over the lobby, hallway and rooms. If you like that kind of style then you are in heaven, if not then you might want to look into other reasons to stay at this hotel. That may include... 1.) The hotel staff are great, they generally can accommodate most of your needs. 2.) The hotel offers a decent breakfast at a reasonable price everyday till 10am. 3.) Free laundry room & fast WiFi ! However, this hotel does come with a price tag and it's alway good to check if it fits your budget!

Yelp
You do not want to stay here. Price is cheap but that's because you have to pay to get your room cleaned daily, for coffee because your room doesn't have a coffee maker and breakfast is not complimentary!! This place is such a joke! Pay a little extra for a nicer place that actually has private bathrooms in the rooms for goodness sakes.

Yelp
I stayed for 3 nights and absolutely loved it. The staff is friendly, the beds are amazing and the breakfast is the best I've had. I would definitely recommend this Hotel and I will be back! It's very eclectic and clean. Hot tub was great and the pool is beautiful. A++
