We've been ordering from Kona Kakes for years, and every time, their cakes are consistently amazing and worth every penny! Fresh, moist, light, and fluffy, and a beautiful presentation! We get tons of compliments from guests whenever they try it. Our favorite is the Pineapple Macadamia Nut cake. Absolutely delicious! I always highly recommend them to anyone who's looking for an exceptional cake for a special occasion. 👌🏽

We were absolutely blown away by how beautiful and delicious our guava strawberry 1/4 sheet cake turned out for our baby shower! I popped in to order with Bebe and she was spot on with her recommendation for the flavor and size for a 34 person event. I trusted them to decorate and they did an incredible job. Everyone is raving about it!

OMG!!!! This was one of the moistest cakes I’ve had from a bakery. The chocolate macadamia nut cake has a great softness of cake sponge paired with a very subtle crunch of macadamia nuts in the chocolate layer icing. The cake itself holds a great amount of moisture with a subtle chocolate taste. As a person who does not like chocolate cake, I ate every last bite of my slice. It was a bit pricey but I know the effort that went into this cake as it is evident in every bite.

In the past year, Kona Kakes Tropical Cake Bakery has become one of my favorite bakeries in San Diego, CA. My husband and I ordered a mango mousse cake and a couple of miniature strawberry guava cakes for our civil wedding on 09/28/2022 after a word-of-mouth recommendation from a family member. After tasting the cakes, we fell in love with their flavors and knew we had to contract Kona Kakes again to make our 3-tier cake for our church wedding on 09/30/2023. Janice was amazing to work with. She is genuinely a nice person, always happy to see us throughout the year, and very passionate about the cakes she makes. For the church wedding, she made a 3-tier cake, each layer with our top 3 flavors: strawberry guava, mango mousse, and chocolate macadamia. We specifically asked her to keep the cake's design with the traditional frosting piping seen in their Hawaiian cakes and decorate it with palm leaves and plumerias to match our reception's decorations at the San Diego Natural History Museum. The 3-tier cake tasted and looked amazing, with many of our guests approaching us to inquire if we bought our cake, as they wanted to order some for their future events. My husband and I look forward to ordering more cakes from Janice and Kona Kakes in the future, such as for our wedding anniversary next year ;-)

Kona Kakes created the most beautiful cake for my sister’s birthday. I worked with them on a customized cake and they were super helpful. Highly recommend!

Google
I absolutely LOVE Kona Kakes! I have come here a few times after discovering them in Point Loma. My first time, they didn’t have anymore lilikoi mini cakes and the sweet woman behind the counter told me she was working on a layer cake and had no problem making me a mini if I waited a few minutes. After, we had such a great convo about the island and how not too many people order the lilikoi. This place brings me back to Hawaii and the cakes are just so good. If you’re looking for something different, please try them. The lilikoi is delicious, the guava is great, and the salted caramel macadamia is awesome too. I will keep coming back!

This is our favorite cake ever!!! We bought multiple mini cakes this last weekend for a late Father's Day picnic celebration and all the flavors were a hit. My brother, who lives in the Bay area, even wants to see their website if they would deliver. 😅 it's definitely better to call ahead of time and order, so you won't miss out. These are the only flavors they have for the mini cakes.

Our family tried the haupia cake, and EVERYBODY who tried it LOVED it. The frosting was so light, the coconut shavings were very fresh, and the haupia was so good. The cake itself was very full and delicious. The cake overall was not overly sweet, and it made us wanting to keep eating more. The freshness stayed until the cake was completely gone, although that was only 2 days because everybody wanted more and more of the cake. Can't wait to try more of the flavors of the cake!

Yelp
My sister did a great job finding Kona Kakes for my Hawaiian tiki theme wedding. After looking at their Instagram page (@konakakes) and checking their website, I knew that this was the perfect place to order our cake. Their Chocolate Caramel Mac Nut With Hazelnut Cream flavor was simply divine and delightful. What made the experience even more convenient was that Kona Kakes delivered the cake directly to our reception venue at Bali Hai, eliminating the stress of having to pick it up ourselves. It truly was the ideal addition to our special day. Kona Kakes Cake Bakery specializes in creating authentic Hawaiian cakes that exude quality and expertise. What truly set this cake apart for me was that it was not too sweet. I highly recommend Kona Kakes' Chocolate Caramel Mac Nut With Hazelnut Cream flavor to anyone searching for a delicious and unique cake option. Whether it's for a wedding, special event, or simply a treat for yourself, you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
We had them custom make us an anniversary cake. Excellent service! Cake was ready for pickup on time. This was by far the best tasting cake I've had in a long time. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Amazing every time. The macadamia crunch cake is my go-to for every event. Love that they have the mini cakes available to grab and go.

Yelp
Kona Kakes is a Hawaiian Cake Bakery. It's known for their Caramel Macadamia Nut Cake! This local business has been opened since 1995 and serves a variety of authentic Hawaiian cakes! Some of their cake options include the following Caramel Macadamia Nut with Hazelnut Cream Chocolate Caramel Mac Nut with Hazelnut Cream Guava Cream Marble Caramel Mac Nut with Hazelnut Cream and so much more! When my husband and I stopped into Kona Kakes on a Thursday afternoon, there were smaller cakes available! Some of those flavors were Ube Cream Cake, Pineapple with Macadamia Nuts, Guava Strawberry, Salted Caramel with White Chocolate. Some of the other flavors such as Chocolate Caramel Macadamia Nut were sold out for the day. We ended up splitting a Caramel Macadamia Nut. The ingredients included Butter cake, Kona Kakes Signature Caramel, and Hazelnut Cream. It was delicious! You could taste that it was freshly made and had such unique flavors! The combinations of the macadamia nuts and caramel was so good! The cake was light and fluffy. The cream wasn't too sweet! The mini-cakes and desserts are $7.99 each. The team member whom helped us at the register was awesome! She went through all of Kona Kakes offerings with us and even recommended which mini-cakes to try! Next time, we'll have to try out the Ube mini-cake!

Yelp
Amazingly delicious kakes here! My hun & I tried their cakes at our friends' wedding & instantly fell in love! Their wedding cake was gorgeous & they had several flavors from Kona Kakes. I learned that they sell mini cakes of their most popular flavors at their store & I went immediately. I called first to see what flavors they have & unfortunately, you cannot reserve them, it is a first come first serve basis so make sure to come early! Their store is located in a shopping center. Ube Cream Cake Guava Cream Cake Salted Caramel Cake Caramel Macadamia Nut: I ordered this cake & the 3 above & all were delicious! However, this cake definitely "takes the cake"! I highly recommend you try this one, it is so flavorful & I love the tiny, sweet crunches all throughout. It is not too sweet too (which I know is a definite plus with Asians haha). I am already planning my next trip down to Point Loma to get it again & my hun & I are definitely thinking about ordering it as our wedding cake too! Try it now!

Yelp
Best cake I had in the US. for my birthday we looked far and wide in SD and Orange county to find an exotic fruit cake, passion fruit especially (my favorite). And with Kona Kake we really found the place where I will get cakes from now on. Very light sponge, flavorful mousses, really light and not overly sweet cream frosting. Custom white chocolate shaving cause this is how I roll... We tried their individual cake as tasters before ordering. The ube cake was original and awesome. The guava strawberry was tasty as well. What I really love is how light and easy to eat the cakes are, not the usual heavy super sweet with fondant and frosting found in the average bakery. Top notch

Yelp
Hands down the absolute best cakes you will ever have the pleasure of tasting! I especially live that they use whipped cream frosting on a majority of their cakes. Our go-to is their caramel macadamia nut crunch cake! OMG!!! Pure heaven! Every time we have this cake it's a huge hit and everyone wants to know where we got it. A bonus with this bakery is that they can take special orders on fairly short notice (1 week) and their cakes are consistently tasty and perfect! Warm, welcoming family business that I am happy to support every chance I get!

Yelp
The best place to get unique flavors in a cake. Great taste of the islands like haupia, macadamia nut, guava and passion fruit. Friendly staff and quick service. They have some ready made cakes and mini cakes to go. Around the holidays they make delicious pies that are soooo good. Small bakery with a tropical feel. Love to support local businesses.

Yelp
We ordered 9 mini cakes for my kiddos birthday and they were so delicious!! Fresh and fluffy and packaged so nicely for transport to take on the pink boat excursion. The bakery was very communicative on any questions I had and even put a flower on my daughter's mini cake upon request. Our favorite was the guava strawberry YUMMY! My kids even licked their plates lol

Yelp
Last weekend was my husbands birthday. Even though we were going to dinner and I knew we would have dessert there, I wanted a little something to serve at home. I called ahead to make sure the store would be open that day and to see if I needed to order in advance. I had already decided that I would get a variety of mini cakes and was told that they always have some available when they open, but usually run out partway through the day. I arrived just after they opened Saturday (11AM). I was readily greeted at the front desk. It is a very small storefront and the staff was busy decorating cakes. I chose 3 mini cakes: pineapple coconut, caramel macadamia with hazelnut frosting, and chocolate macadamia with hazelnut frosting. They were all delcicious and both of the macadamia cakes were simply amazing! Something about having some texture from the macadamias really added to the cake. I also liked that the frosting wasn't too sweet. As long as you are not too hungry, one mini cake can probably serve two people. I would definitely order a whole cake from this place in the future.

Yelp
The Best Macadamia Cake! Small shop and homemade feel and vibe! Love supporting small businesses.

B S.

Yelp
They were so kind and helpful in making our gender reveal cake. They patiently looked up the results so we didn't find out and ensured it looked the way we wanted. All of our guests loved the taste, as well as the fresh, natural ingredients. Happy to have somewhere reliable to continue to order our cakes and desserts from. The ube pudding cake is also unreal!
google avatar

Samantha W.

Yelp
Wasn't sure if they had ready made goodies to buy on the spot. They had a few small versions of their cakes. We asked what the most popular out of the selection they had available that day and we were told the caramel macadamia cake so that's what we ended up with. It was delicious. The whip cream with caramel on top was kind of reminiscent of the topping on a caramel frappe. The crunchy bits of macadamia sprinkled on top were great. The cake itself was good, moist and had nice flavor. Would be really nice if they had a bigger variety of ready-made options but this was better than nothing at all. Definitely looking forward to ordering a cake from here one day.

Maridel S.

Yelp
I ALWAYS come here for my cakes. It reminds me of the cakes I get from back home. Nothing can compare to Kona Kakes. I've tried others around the area that have made the same style of cake but they're either too dry or just not good. Every single cake I've gotten from here has been moist and not overpoweringly sweet. The frosting blends perfectly with the cake and although it's pricey and a drive from where I live, it's definitely worth it! Trust me you won't be disappointed! My go to is the guava cream (not pictured) and the chocolate caramel macadamia nut with hazelnut cream!
google avatar

Yelp
Mahalo to Kona Kakes for bringing the flavor of Hawaii with their delicious cakes that are so good they "broke da mouth." There aren't many bakeries in San Diego that bake cakes with these flavors: pineapple, coconut, guava, lilikoi, and their signature caramel macadamia. All of em taste great, and I like that they're not too sweet and the cream is light. These cakes definitely make the rounds at family parties and never disappoint. I've ordered cakes online which is really simple and Janice even sends a confirmation email to follow up with any details.
google avatar

Stephanie E.

Yelp
Omggg my mouth is still watering thinking about their cakes! We had their caramel macadamia nut for a friend's birthday, and it was so moist and fluffy! This is one of the best cakes I've ever tried. The frosting is not too sweet, and you can really taste the macadamia mixed in the cake. I wish it was closer to home... please open one in Orange/LA county area! If you're looking for a flavored Hawaiian cake, this is the place to go!
google avatar

Sylvia O.

Yelp
Probably the best bakery in San Diego for your cake needs! I will agree that their cakes are expensive, but when you think about it, you're paying for beautiful decor and flavors that aren't served from your normal bakery in SD. Plus almost every single flavor I've tried is freak'n delicious!! Give them about 2-3 days to prepare your cake and make your cake look and taste glorious. Drooling for cake as finish typing this...
google avatar

Stephanie M.

Yelp
Went here for the first time and bought their caramel macadamia nut mini cake ($7.75). All I can say is wow.... Amazing. Made me think about the Ted's Bakery mac nut cakes in Oahu, Hawaii!!! I literally inhaled this cake. Perfect bite of cake and cream, caramel and a hint of toffee I believe? Anyways... I'm definitely going to keep coming back to try other flavors! It's a bit pricy but it is totally worth it.

Yelp
Loved Kona Kakes for years!! We live in North County and make the drive near Sea World to get cake every few years, and the flavors never disappoint! This Strawberry Guava cake was a hit!

Yelp
We were staying nearby for our family vacay in SD. My bday was coming up the following week. Hub couldn't find a bakery that specialized in Hawaiian cakes. Fortunately, we came across Kona Kakes and knew this was the place to get it! So glad we were able to order the cake in time during our trip there. Hub placed an order for the 10" Pineapple Macadamia nut with orchids. The size is meant for 10-16 ppl. It was stunning. I couldn't believe how huge the cake was in comparison to bakeries in NY. A cake this size would easily go for a lot. It looked even better in person. Photos can't do it justice. I wish, we could had tried all of the flavors. All of the flavors sound and look yummy. The cake itself was moist and airy and soft. It was not dense or heavy at all. Even the macadamia cream was light. The combination of crushed pineapples with the macadamia nuts was absolutely heaven. The cake came out really pretty with decorated orchids. You're definitely missing a great thing if you're not placing a cake order with them! I wish, I could bring one home. We had about 1/4 of cake left over (since we were departing that morning). It was 5 of us and we tried to eat whatever was left of it. This was after also giving two huge slices away to friends. I can't recommend this place enough. It's super affordable. The hours are limited (Mon-Thu 11am-3pm and 4pm on Fri & Sat) I love that they take a limited amount of orders. Staff was also attentive to boxing the cake in addition to letting us know the serving size, etc. This bakery is definitely a keeper for me. I will be sure to return in the future to place a cake order.

Yelp
This place is the bombbbbbbbbb. First off, there is a sticker shock with the pricing. I am telling you as the resident cheapskate on this app that it is worth every cent. The cake/frosting/filling is like nothing I've ever tasted and the finished product is more like a work of art than something you'd consider eating. If you want a cake, you'll need to order from their website in advance. I'd say try to order a week prior to give yourself enough time. You'll get to choose the date and time for pick up and pay online ahead of time. The location is a little congested in the same strip mall as The Cravory and Grocery Outlet. I'm telling you, it's easy to miss because the store front isn't large. This has been my go-to for my gf's birthday the last few years with the most popular variety being the Carmel Macademia Nut with Hazelnut cream. It is amazing and also not super heavy on your stomach so you don't feel like you're in a food coma afterwards. This is a must try if you want to impress for someone's birthday or a special occasion!
google avatar

Yelp
Picked up their macadamia crunch cake for a party. I don't normally eat frosting but it was so delicious Cake was moist and they do not scrimp on the expensive macadamias
google avatar

Alan R.

Yelp
Been ordering cakes from Kona Kakes ever since we were picking up from her home. Never disappointed. Picked up a POG (if you know, you know!) birthday cake recently for my son...SO good!
google avatar

Nelson Q.

Yelp
We celebrated my 50th Birthday Week in San Diego back in July and wanted to find a bakery specializing in Hawaiian style cakes. Kona Kakes popped up on Yelp and had solid reviews so perusing the menu we went with the POG cake(passion orange guava) and two mini cakes(guava and caramel macadamia nut). I guess my expectations were too high, for those of us who grew up in Hawaii with flavors like Haupia, Guava, Chocolate Dobash, and Chantilly cakes from places like Liliha, Kaneohe Bakery(CLOSED), and Dee-Lite/St Germains(CLOSED) there's that taste you hope for, but unfortunately for me, it was just okay. Not bad, but not the best...Cake layers were a bit dense and dry, but I guess that's the best that San Diego has when it comes to Hawaiian inspired cakes. ALOHA!!! SHAKA METER: \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ 3
google avatar

Kate L.

Yelp
Janice and the Kona Kakes team made our wedding cake and it was a hit with our guests. Our family and friends raved about the flavors (caramel macadamia nut and guava cream) and thought it was one of the best wedding cakes they've tasted. We planned to save the top tier to freeze and have it on our 1 year anniversary, but we enjoyed it so much we ended up eating it all! The new plan is to visit Kona Kakes on our anniversary and order the same cake!
google avatar

Wendy M.

Yelp
This place was good but a bit pricey. Not sure if I would shell out this kind of money again. I ordered a passion fruit cake and it had very little passion fruit flavor.
google avatar

Layla S.

Yelp
Picked up a birthday cake (Caramel Macademia Hazelnut) and sides of their small cakes (Guava-Strawberry, Chocolate Macademia) Delicately and intricately decorated cakes. Not too sweet, but so flavorful that you have the aftertaste of having another slice Super yummy Friendly, and courteous staff. From this day onward, I will only buy cakes here, it's worth the drive; and, it's worth what I paid for. Keep it up Kona K.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
This place was recommended by a friend. I needed a birthday cake for my moms birthday and wanted a place that had really GOOD cake. She recommended the Caramel Macadamia Nut with Hazelnut filling. OMG this was heaven on a sheet. Our guests wouldn't stop talking about how moist the cake was and how delicious the filling was. I had to stop serving when the corner was left because I refused to NOT bring some home for later. It was THAT GOOD. I highly recommend this awesome cake shop. Online ordering, was easy, and order was ready for prompt pickup.
google avatar

Edith N.

Yelp
WOW! I am not a cake or dessert person, but this was delicious!! We had the caramel macadamia at a family birthday and I had to ask for the bakery for our next event. It was, of course, very sweet and decadent so it is definitely a special occasion treat. Love you, Kona kakes!!
google avatar

Dung N.

Yelp
I got to try a slice of lilikoi cake from here and it was so light and moist. I love cakes that aren't too sweet and this was perfect for my friend's baby shower. The frosting was creamy and just a tad sweet for me, but I'm sure you'll enjoy this cake as much as I did. I can't wait to try their other flavors!
google avatar

Yelp
Really? I haven't left a review of Kona Kakes? Well, let me be very clear.. awesome. I have ordered birthday cakes specially designed to my sister's Purple Prince Dreams to monthly cakes for my company to specially designed cakes for my recovery meetings. Those go over great with everybody! Now, here is the reason why. White fluffy creamy frosting that is not too sweet AND full of flavor. I mean, you can just eat the frosting alone by the spoonful. Okay. Maybe then it would be too sweet. After all, it is frosting. That "Not Too Sweet" theme continues in that light yet robust texture of the cake. How do you get a cake both light and robust without it being heavy? Well, they obviously incorporate aerating mixing technique into the preparation of their batter. What? I bake. I can throw down on a cake myself. But I ain't trying to bake a cake for 20 people or more. I don't have the time or the..... Who am I kidding? I don't wanna. I love people enough to spend money on them.... not my time. No fondant here. What you get is great frosting creatively designed with flowers. Orchids to be exact. Yay! Orchids. Shhhhhhh. Don't tell nobody, but a bite of cake and a bite or orchid is delicious. Yes. You can eat the fresh orchids. They pair very well with the flavor of the cake. I love this bakery. I am so glad that with their recent move to Pt Loma just before the pandemic that they were able to make it. I'm picking up a specially designed cake to celebrate my 12 years clean and sober this Saturday. I can't wait to show it off.

Yelp
We just came back from Hawaii 2 weeks ago and this cake tasted better than any dessert I had in Hawaii.
google avatar

Autumn B.

Yelp
Luckiest girl in the world. Janice was so sweet on the phone and helped me a few times. My lilikoi cake was perfect, my friends were so impressed. A delicious cake to remind me of home couldn't be any better.

Yelp
a weekend surprise and flew to San Diego for our besties birthday. I pre-ordered my cakes ahead of time. I picked it up same day I flew in. So, this place is very accomodating. They will let you know the hours the store closed. I highly siggest to call them first, pre-order and re-confirm your order to make arrangements for pickup. Location: somewhere along the plaza so definitely easy to find of your local. for us we had to find the spot. lol. It is very small, this is mainly pickup only place. as soon as you walk in, you can smell that fresh, baked frosty cake. and greeted by this cute guy. Cakes: OMG, definitely hard to choose from. They were all so good. But if anything, my best bet is to go with either Chocolate Macadamia Nut with Hazelnut Cream or Guava Cream
google avatar

Kristy S.

Yelp
One of my favorite cake bakeries, I ordered my daughters birthday cake here and they are a little on the pricey side but nothing beats this place! Our guest always compliments on how delicious the cake is. My favorite is their caramel macadamia nut! One days I have random cravings I like to stop by and grab their mini cakes.
google avatar

Heidi A.

Yelp
We ordered a the chocolate caramel macadamia nut with hazelnut cream cake and pumpkin haupia pie for Thanksgiving. The ordering process online was simple and easy. Our family was so pleased with how the cake and pie turned out in both looks and taste! It pleased the sweet lovers and non-sweet lovers alike. Our favorite part is the frosting, which is more like whipped cream so it was much lighter to eat and kept the cake moist. The pie was more haupia than pumpkin, but it still satisfied the pumpkin spice craving. Our only complaint is that the crust was a little on the thin side, but we still loved it. Overall, would recommend! We look forward to trying all the flavors.
google avatar

Jericho T.

Yelp
Alohaz Janice! The Chocolate Caramel Mac Nut w/ Hazelnut Cream for my daughter's 21st Birthday Luau was "Da Bomb " Cake. People RAVED about the cake. We'll definitely order again! Mahaloz again for great TASTING CAKE but the ALOHA SPIRIT SERVICE as well. Continued blessings & successes!Jericho

Yelp
We ordered the queen lili cake for a Mother's Day party. The cake was amazing. Lovely, perfectly sweetened, fresh mango and coconut. It was the star of the party. We will definitely come back to this bakery. I can't wait to try the mango cake.
google avatar

Victoria L.

Yelp
I have been getting a few mini cake from them once a week now and quality has been so consistent that I have to give them a 5 star review! I bought a few for my friends and they were so turned off to hear "guava"... j made them try it anyway and they were blown away by how fluffy the sponge cake is & the cream was beyond delicious.

Lorri B.

Yelp
They truly represent the mahalo spirit. Their cakes are great and their staff is friendly. Once I had a small issue, and they were terrific in how they handled it. Unfortunately I waited too long to book my wedding cake through them.. but I would have given the chance and will be a lifer customer!

Tina M.

Yelp
I ordered the macadamia caramel cake for my granddaughter's birthday. It was so beautifully decorated and delicious. I have ordered Kona Kakes for special occasions and have never been disappointed. Kona Kakes is always my first choice in cakes.
google avatar

Ronnie D.

Yelp
Pretty darn good. My wife and I had a craving for some island flavored cakes, we took the chance in calling Kona Kakes to see if they had any cakes that was prepared same day. To our luck we learned they carried smaller mini versions of their cakes and made the short drive to satisfy the cravings. The cakes were sooo delicious that my wife ended up ordering a full size cake for my birthday the next week as a surprise. We were not disappointed and look forward to trying other flavors as well!!

Yelp
I have been on a hunt for good cakes and this place was on my list for some time. I was lucky enough to get my hands on these since I arrived nearly close to them closing. So glad to finally try these and it did not disappoint, sooooo good!!! I got them for my sister in-law's bday and we all LOVE LOVE them!!! The cakes were nicely moist, not fluffy nor thick but a good consistency. The frost is fluffy, light and not sweet at all. You can definitely taste the macadamia nuts and not crazy chunks or anything but perfect size for that good crunch. The caramel was a tad bit sweet for me but that's only because I'm not a big sweets person. Everyone did agreed the chocolate caramel macadamia is more sweet tasting then the reg one though. The single serving size seems small but it's actually a lot for one sitting, you can definitely share with someone else. Overall, I am a huge fan and will be returning!!
google avatar

Theresa B.

Yelp
I've been ordering cakes from a Janice for a few years. No they are not cheap but for me you get what you pay for. Always worth it and everyone loves it.
google avatar

Larivhie D.

Yelp
Ordered a Marble Caramel Macadamia nut cake for my son's birthday, and it was delicious. The frosting is so light, I think that's what makes it yummy. I also decided to try the service where you provide a picture to put on the cake. It turned out really great! The picture quality was a slightly darker compared to the original photo but it was totally fine! As a leftover cake, it is just as delicious as the first day :) Planning to order another flavor cake to try very soon!

Yelp
Super fresh and extremely tasty Cakes infused with fresh fruit. Very expensive but well worth it for that really important occasion!

I had Kona Kakes as my wedding cake over 20 years ago. I recently bought a cake for my wife for her birthday. It's was so delicious. I highly recommend this company to all of you in SoCal! I can't wait for our next cake!

Yelp
Love the new store front in Point Loma! Parking is so much easier and it's easier to find. It's even located a couple stores down from The Cravory cookie shop, so you can definitely get your sweet fix in this area! I've ordered a couple of cakes for parties and they never disappoint. Our guests always love the cakes. The favorite flavors are their POG (passion orange guava), strawberry guava, toasted coconut with pineapple and of course their caramel mac. You really can't go wrong with any flavor though!

Yelp
It's been a while since I've bought a cake from Kona Kakes. When they were in Mission Valley they were my go-to place for any and all occasions. When they were in Linda Vista their food was sooo good. So it's a little disappointing they don't do food anymore but I'll settle for amazing cakes. It's hard to choose with all their wonderful flavors the Haupia is amazing as is anything with pineapple! A thin slice goes a long way because it's so thick. The cream is soo creamy and not overly sweet. For my daughter's special birthday she chose the chocolate caramel macadamia nut. After her first bite, she said she wants to see them battle it out on a baking show because she's sure they will win!

Yummy. Very delicious. I'll definitely come again although it gets busy during lunch time
