Konoko Jamaican Restaurant

As of right now, this is currently my favorite Jamaican eatery spot in all of Maryland. Was afforded the wonderful opportunity to have a meal here and I was not disappointed. The drinks are amazing. The place is clean and organized and the food was out of this world! This is a place where you can have a lunch date, A dinner date, a business luncheon or enjoy some sports over jerk wings. What impress me secretly was the price for everything. Usually specialty restaurants like this charge a premium for ambiance and what I believe is unnecessary "flare" . The value for my date and I received in terms of drinks and food including a generous gratuity All came under $200. Go and give him a visit and enjoy yourself!

I took my sister here for her birthday. The food was very good. The service was even better. Our waitress Crystal was fabulous. She was knowledgeable about all the dishes, and the drink recommendations were great. I will definitely be back.

Great spot in White Marsh for authentic flavors. Highlights were definitely the oxtail and curry goat—very tender and well-seasoned. The Rasta Pasta is a must-try too. Shoutout to the bar for the refreshing mocktails! Service was okay, but the food and ambiance was great!

Rasta Pasta, the creamy sauce and fresh peppers and onions. Shrimp. It was a great portion size for lunch. The atmosphere was modern-contemporary with a Carribean flight vibe. The service was great and it has been consistent for years at this location and the Aberdeen location (Island Spice). The price is a little high but it is worth it for the food, service and atmosphere. Overall, Konoko is worth a visit if you have never been and you will not be disappointed. My favorite part about this restaurant is the music, it fits the vibe well.

I couldn’t wait to write this review. It was a super cold day in Bmore and we decided on Jamaican food . First , the establishment is located in a sort of outdoor outlet mall. Very nice area . The building itself was a statement . They prefer reservations and while we thought our reservations were solid we actually scheduled them for the wrong day , but they quickly accommodated us and that was very kind of them . The service and hospitality was above board . They really went above and beyond to make sure we were having a good experience. Can’t say enough about their customer care . The manager was exceptional. The only reason I didn’t give the restaurant 5 stars is because our wait time for the food was a little long , and the seating was snug . The booth was a semi - circle and it was nice but it was just a tight fit . If you’re voluptuous or a big guy you may not need a booth . But they did squeeze us in after our own failure to make sure we reserved for the correct day . Now for the best part . The food . When I say 10/10 I mean that with my whole chest . I don’t give 10s a lot . This Jamaican food was the best I’ve had . I ordered their famous braised oxtails with rice and peas and a side of plantain . Top notch . The oxtails were tender falling off the bone and the flavor was rich and savory and just plain wonderful . The gravy that was made was so freaking amazing and I scooped my rice and peas into the bowl and ate it that way . Now , I don’t do Jamaican often so I may not be well versed on the flavor profiles but the rice and peas alone isn’t my thing , a bit dry and lacking in flavor but when added to the oxtail gravy it’ll make you slap your mama . My dinner partners went with the Rasta pasta with oxtails and there wasn’t anything left on their plate . My nephew had chicken tenders and fries and he left nothing . He got a chance to taste one of my oxtails and he cleaned the bone . He says he is now an official oxtail eater lol … Drinks were had and from what I heard from my dinner partners they were absolutely amazing . So the bartender was superb . I think there was rhum punch , bob marley, and a few glasses of moscato which was top tier . They do have a lounge that opens at a certain time in the evening , but we left right before that kicked off , but seemed like it gets pretty live and if you like live music and that sort of thing if could be right up your alley . I cannot wait to go again .

Crystal was the BEST server I’ve had in a long time! If and when you go, make sure you get seated in her section. She is attentive, fun, and honest. She made such great food and sauce suggestions that we left here basically in a coma. She also made my early birthday celebration such a fun one. Thank you, Crystal!

KONOKO's food will definitely take your taste buds on a trip to Jam Rock! Reserving a table was fairly simpe and they have a rewards program for those whom wish to frequent the restaurant. Me amd my date had the oxtl platter, shrimp rasta pasta, salmon bites and 2 drinks from the bar. It was all well worth the $$$!

Crystal was our waitress who was absolutely the best. Great energy and very efficient. This was my very 1st time at this establishment and it won’t be my last. When you go there ask for her and she will be very attentive to you and explain everything with a smile. We had the seafood pasta and we already saying when to come back and try the lamb chops

Believe every good thing you've heard about this restaurant. The airline theme is a nice touch, but that's just the start of it all. The food is just so good, like... really good. We had everything from the Shrimp, to the chicken dishes, the coconut bread, etc... everything was AMAZING. Our waiter was great as well. Very funny guy with a great sense of humor. It was my birthday and helped make it feel special. Much kudos to that guy. I think Konoko is on the pricey side, but it's well worth it for sure. You won't be disappointed in anything you have here. If you want Jamaican food. Or just good food in general, give it a try!

Brunch at Konoko is a whole vibe!! We made the trek all the way from Washington DC (area) to enjoy the food, music, ambiance, and service at Konoko. and Konoko delivered on all fronts!! We had two amazing servers, Sweet pea and Orin, who took amazing care of me and my group. We were seated in the cove, an intimate private booth, which I absolutely adored, since my reservation was for four people, however, a fifth friend decided last minute to spontaneously make the trek too, and popped up at the restaurant, and our cute booth quickly became packed, especially after a few drinks ;). But we made the best of it, and Konoko graciously accommodated us. The food was soo good!! everything bursted with flavor and deliciousness...so much so, that my friends had to repeatedly apologize to me for complaining about how I made them come all the way out to White Marsh. Shrimp and grits tasted just as good as it looked..probably THE best shrimp and grits Ive had in a very long time. The seafood pasta was amazing, and that snapper was perfectly seasoned. Everything was fantastic!! On that note: there's an option called Kitchen One Love on the dessert menu that allows guests to make a cash (only) donation to the "hands that prepared the meal". I didn't have much cash to make a generous donation, but yelpers, please remember to support when you get the chance.

Both sides of the restaurant are very different. Also, I wouldn't recommend just stopping in an a weekend evening, You will need a reservation! They are really popular right now because they are new. The service was excellent and the food was good. I would recommend all of the shrimp dishes. It does come with the veggie of the day and their version of rice & beans. I ordered also the chicken strips & fries for the kids and they loved them! I also ordered the side dish Mac and cheese because I heard it was good, but I don't agree with the recommendation, it's not. And for dessert the strawberry cream cake!

I am so upset I did not get photos of our food! Either way you MUST GO! Take care of the building, the staff and everything about this place! KONOKO MUST be protected, respected for All The FLIGHTS they serve daily! We arrived close to 9Pm and still had amazing dish options from the kitchen! I am an oxtail woman and cocoa bread and my wife is a pasta one. EVERYTHING IS EXCELLENT! The food, the vibe, the staff and the experience is TOP TIER AND TOP LEVEL! PRICES ARE REASONABLE!! Let's keep this a win win situation people!! It's amazing here!

I just discovered "The Avenue at White Marsh" and while I was driving around, I noticed Kokono. Fast forward couple weeks, I decided to come for lunch after a spa day. I ordered the rum punch and the jerk chicken Rasta pasta - both were delicious! The rum punch was strong and not too sweet and the pasta was flavorful. I also enjoyed the music they had playing.

Came here with a small group recently and had a good time! First, they have a great location in White Marsh near the mall so there is plenty of free parking, as well as being easily accessible through transit as well. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The decor inside is really thoughtful and cute, on theme and chic. A great place to come and celebrate any special occasion. They have QR code menus, which are becoming increasingly common. You can also look at the menu beforehand and figure out what you can afford/want. I ordered the breezy lemonade, which was so fruity and delicious! I got a likkle plate, which is an appetizer, and two sides. I wish I had gotten the oxtail! I tasted a small piece and it was very good. I got the salmon bites for $17, the Plaintains, and cocoa bread. The salmon bites were okay, I didn't like the sauce, it was a bit too spicy, I wish I had ordered it on the side. The Plaintains were fantastic, I absolutely loved them! The cocoa bread (and this was my first time having it) was very lackluster. It tasted like Hawaiian roll to me ‍. I wouldn't recommend ordering anything but the entrees really. Especially the oxtail. They are a bit pricey, so I would say to expect to spend $45-60 depending on what you want. The oxtails are $36, if you tip and want a drink, $55 is probably a reasonable amount to expect to spend. So don't come here expecting to spend $25, unless you only want appetizers, and you might be disappointed. And $55, to some, can be a lot! I wasn't expecting this price, I thought they would be a bit cheaper. But, it is authentic Jamaican food. They have seafood as well, which is a premium. Overall, I wish I had ordered different things, but I'm glad I got to try them so I know what to order for next time !

This place just never disappoints and stays consistently good. We came here on Monday to celebrate a friend's birthday and everything went so well. From making the reservations, to the service and the spectacular food. We had the jerk chicken wings and I licked every bit of the sauce. My partner doesn't like spicy food and I don't like food that isn't spicy but somehow we both managed to live these wings. He didn't think they were spicy and when i got the sauce on the bottom of the bowl, I thought it was a decent amount of spice. The coco bread couldn't have been any better. It was warm, soft, and pure perfection. Several of us ordered the oxtails and others the lambchops. The oxtails weren't overly fatty and had a good amount of meat in them. There was good quantity as well. My only thing I wasn't a super fan of was the rice and was, the rice seemed slightly mushy. I heard that the lamb chops were the best my partner ever ate. He said they were cooked perfectly and seasoned well. They were also a good size portion. We tied the strawberry cake and that was like a one cake with some strawberry filling. It was good as well, but we were pretty full by the time that came around. I really enjoyed our time there and keep thinking about the food.

I drove an hour to experience this restaurant and It was worth every toll I had to pay lol. The atmosphere was very welcoming and beautifully decorated, the service from start to finish was amazing! Our waiter Otis was on point from start to finish. He gave great recommendations, he laughed and joked with us and his customer service was A1. The DJ was playing all the jams! I really didn't want to leave. Our food came out fast, from the appetizer's, drinks, to the main course we didn't have to wait more than10min. The wait staff cleaned our table every time they walked passed. My group got the oxtail with rice n peas and salad. That may have been some of the best oxtail I've had in a while. They were so flavorful, meaty and they were generous with the portion. The jerk wings were alright, not really spicy. The Mac n cheese was blah, you can skip that. Please get the rum punch!!! Just one had me ready to get up and dance so I had to get another round. They have a nice size bar area. I'm definitely going to visit again. I wish there was a location closer to the DC area.

We came here for a good good friend's birthday. The ambiance was Lovely. The restaurant is located in a great location in the center of the White Marsh Shopping Center. I love the Decor and the feeing as if you are on a flight to Jamaica experiencing true Jamaican vibes. This is great space to celebrate a birthday for intimate setting or group. Music was not too loud and I enjoyed the reggae tones. My Oxtails and rice&peas were delicious. The drinks are fabulous so be careful. I had a great time. Will definitely return.

Konoko was a great time. Reservations were at 4. Arrived at 415 without issue. Melina was our server and she was super pleasant and nice. I ordered the boneless jerk chicken with white rice. Date ordered the bone in jerk chicken. We both enjoyed our food. Restaurant is beautiful and clean. Would recommend and return.

Back at Konoko again. Today I had the lamb chops with an extra side of mac and cheese. The lamb chops were excellent. It was my first time ordering. The Mac and cheese was not great. I could tell it was reheated and not really fresh. It kind of seemed like two batches of mac put together and then broiled before serving. The waiter was very pleasant and thorough in explaining the menu. I also had a mocktail, it was the one with ginger beer. It was wayyyy tooo sweet, but the waitress gave me an extra can of ginger beer to cut it. That was really nice of her. Looking forward to my next flight!

I enjoyed dinner at Konoko so much I decided to return for brunch. Super happy that the experience was equally exceptional. Our sever this time around was PJ Theo and he lived up to the "private jet" experience he promised. I was undecided on my drink and told him to pick and he went with the Feelin' Peachy mimosa. It was a good choice for me as I love a peach anything. I also went with the new menu item which was a spin on shrimp in rasta pasta sauce with a side of coco bread. I also ordered a side of mac and an order of sweet plantains. Everything was delicious no complaints. My friends were super satisfied with their food and drinks as well. We made reservations for 1230 on a Sunday so the DJ wasn't there yet but they still had music playing. All the staff were friendly and professional. The atmosphere was welcoming and fun. I'm now a frequent flyer.

Yelp fam!!!!!! This is not a drill! I've been searching for multiple years for a go to Jamaican spot. All of my previous attempts took me to MID-Ville. But in the 11th hour my amazing wife(love you B!) said we should try this spot Konoko. On god the first bites let me know we had arrived at the new go to. My first visit was fast We had a few drinks- Rum Punch- Yessir!!!! Bob Marley-ayyyyyyyyyyyy!!! Red stripe- classic The jerk wings- these were juicy, flavorful and spicy 2nd visit- The real test Went with the Ox tails I won't hold you, the oxtails we received SLAPPED!!! They were hot and fresh. Clean plate club dish for sure! Our server was very nice & helped us through the menu! The inside is chill, comfortable and has a nice vibe. Check them out!

10/10 the food, drinks, experience, service, and ambiance was amazing!!! I'll be returning at least once a month. Please bring a location closer Laurel!

Did brunch here yesterday with my husband and was pleased with the service, food, and location. The restaurant is in my favorite shopping center in White Marsh, right across from Carters. The theme is travel, which I loved because I love to travel. The waitresses and host are all dressed in cute flight attendent outfits. They definitely went all out with the theme. Its also jamacian cuisine, which tied into the theme as well. Our waitress crystal was very nice and helped with our menu selections. She was honest and took pride in her job. Below are the things we ordered. I did not try ackee and saltfish tostones but my husband tore them up. The only dish I was not too crazy about was the mac and cheese. Everything else was great. My husband let me try his lamb chop and it was seasoned perfectly.I would definitely recommend this place. Just be sure to come for brunch after 2pm to experience the live dj. I finally got the chance to try Konoko for my cousin's birthday dinner. We went on a Saturday night. The vibes in this restaurant are definitely right. The music was on point. I ended up ordering the lamb chops with rice and peas and cabbage. Of course, I had to get an additional side of mac and cheese. For my drink, I had the Island Gyal. Everything was delicious! There was a bit of a wait for the food, though. I would definitely return. This is a good spot for a girl's night out.

Food impeccable as always! Service was top tier! Ambiance was a vibe! 10/10 the rice a a tad dry and cabbage wasn't as seasoned as I would have liked.... However, everything else made up for it! Lastly, the cocktails........ My husband and I felt the JamRock vibes! We will be back soon! New favorite date night spot!

Konoko is a Caribbean cuisine restaurant that's is a MUST try. The food is perfectly seasoned every single time. The consistency is unmatched. From the time you hit the door the service is through the roof. It is basically a flight simulation to the Caribbean. Your server is your flight attendant and the concept is both unique and welcoming. The velvet booth area is my favorite. The music is nostalgic and the decor is pleasing to the eye. This visit we had the Chance To try some new menu items. The jam jam shrimp with coco bread was delicious. The bread literally melted in my mouth. The oxtail was perfectly spiced and the curry goat flavors reminded me of my trips to the islands. Chefs kiss! Try Konoko, you won't be disappointed!

Konoko was a fun place to visit, but not sure I'll be going back. I went in with a lot of expectations based on word of mouth recommendations. The place is done up really well - loved the decor, the tropical vibes, the music etc. The staff were polite and professional. Our waiter was nice, but sometimes felt like he was on auto-pilot, repeating the same jokes and one liners with every table, asking us how things were going but not waiting for our response before moving onto the next table etc. I also didn't really get the whole theme of being in an airplane? We went for Sunday brunch and tried their apple cider and pineapple upside down mimosas. Both were good. For appetizers tried the wings and the the tostones. The wings were fall of the bone, but the flavour was just okay. The tostones with codfish was delicious. We ended up sharing the "famous braised oxtail". The jamaican gravy was good, but it was very greasy. The meat was more fat than actual protein, which personally I'm not a fan of. The dishes are a little pricier than I had expected. 18% grauity is added is to the check so in total for 2 drinks, 2 appetizers and one entree we paid about $115.

This was my second time to this establishment and I WILL return for many more! The "About to take Flight" theme is perfect...meaning all the staff are dressed as flight attendants and when you make your reservation or "booking" you are called a Passenger because you will be whisked away to the islands. The service is top notch with attention to each and every customer from the host to the server to the runners to the busboy to the doorman. The food is out of this world. The Oxtails, the Snapper, the Coco Bread, the Jerk Wings, the Calilou are all phenominal. I even heard a gentleman from the next table that drove up from VA ask how they (meaning himself) could bting this restaurant closer to DC and into VA. The bar scene is hopping as well with a live DJ and the party gets poppin'. Now remember, you do have a 2 hour limit on your table so don't expect to sit there forever, this is a business and a restaurant has to turn tables to stay profitable and provide a great experience to as many customers as possible.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Konoko and it was an exquisite experience from start to finish. I kicked off the evening with the Koko Chanel cocktail, a delightful concoction that really hit my taste buds. The culinary journey continued with the salmon bites, and I was immediately impressed by the burst of flavors in each bite. The perfect balance of seasoning made it a standout dish. The main course featured jerk lamb chops accompanied by rice and beans and cabbage, was nothing short of a feast for the senses. The lamb chops were succulent and packed with a tantalizing jerk spice, while the sides were expertly crafted, each complementing the other seamlessly. The attentive service and cozy ambiance added to the overall charm of the evening. Shouts to Kelsey who was our serve for the evening. She was nothing short of amazing!! The dining experience was quite memorable. I'll be anticipating my next visit to savor more of their culinary delights.

This was my first time coming here and I must say it does live up to the hype. It's located in the Whitemarsh town center so parking is on the premium. If you are going doing prime time make sure you give yourself extra time to find parking and walk over. You absolutely should make a reservation because they are very popular and there is no guarantee you will get a table if you just walk in. I made reservations for 9 and arrived a little bit early so I had to wait until my reservation time to be seated. The theme is airline so all of the waiters and waitresses are dressed as flight attendants. The take your taste buds on a flight to Jamaica. The waiter we had this evening was Shawn and he was fantastic. Very friendly and knowledgeable. He recommended the rum punch as well as the Ackee and Saltfish as an appetizer. The rum punch was sweat and tasty. The Ackee and Saltfish was delicious as well. I also had some of the jerk wings that we shared at my table. They were hot so if you like spicy it's for you. Shawn also recommend the Lamb chops. The presentation of all the dishes was immaculate. Visually appealing and the flavor matched. I was definitely impressed. It's on the expensive side and they do automatically include a gratuity. For a group of 4 the bill came up to about 400 after tip. But this included 4 appetizers and drinks. Most if the entrees run from 30-50 dollars. A nice place to come every once in a while to treat yourself.

I travel 3 days a week for work and was happy to see this hidden gem on Yelp. It's the best Jamaican food I've ever had! The jerk chicken, rice and beans and salad were all phenomenal! Top it off with The Bob Marley drink with three different rum's in it and you will leave very happy! My bartender Sweet P has the personality of an angel and was superb! Will definitely be back!

Konoko was a pleasant experience and is likely worth a visit. The airline theme is sweet--the staff really commits to their roles. The establishment is very pretty, the staff was attentive, and the food was quite tasty if a bit on the expensive side for dinner. The music selection was mostly Afrobeats which is just fine by me. Luckily, we arrived just in time to catch the tail end of their lunch hour specials. (Lunch runs from open until 3 during the week as of this writing. ) The jerk chicken lunch special was flavorful and, just as importantly, the chicken wasn't overcooked as often occurs at Jamaican spots. The portion was a good size as well. I would absolutely come back for lunch though I can't imagine a world where could justify their dinner+drink prices without a rooftop or pool to be found.

Still a solid experience. Came for a birthday dinner. We averaged $100 per person for our food, which seemed costly considering not everyone got dessert or drinks. With that, the service and overall experience was good (they sing happy birthday--dessert should be complimentary but it's not). ***still wishing they had curry chicken on the menu

I had been meaning to try this place, and finally got an opportunity to do so! Came here after watching a movie. The service is great; they are very attentive to your needs and super helpful in answering your questions about menu items. I loved that the waiters are called flight attendants because they're taking you on a journey to Jamaica. We had the oxtail with rice and beans and ordered sides of collard greens and plantains. It was the best, most tender oxtail I've ever had. Fall off the bone and well-seasoned. All the other sides were just as good, but the oxtail stole the show. The cocktails are also delicious! I think I had some sort of punch, and it was perfectly sweet and fruity. Can't wait to go back again!

My man planned a date night here after I has been raving about us coming for dinner here. I was super excited when we pulled up. I had been dying to try the seafood pasta others had been posting. We made a reservation and while waiting to be seated we were greeted by the manager which was nice! The inside is decorated so nice and makes you feel like you're on a resort in Jamaica. The hostess and waitress, Tia, describe your experience as a flight which was super cute! Tia was attentive and helpful throughout our entire dining experience. Now the food and drinks were amazing!! We had the pineapple ginger margarita and old fashioned! The drinks were strong but not overpowering. For an appetizer we ordered the salmon bites and THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! There were crunchy and moist and the sauce was a nice touch. Of course it was a no brainer that I was ordering the seafood pasta and my man got the oxtail. The pasta was so good! Full of seafood and the cream sauce had a nice but settle kick to it. We wrapped up dinner with the cheesecake after our waitress made the recommendation. It was exactly what she described - light and creamy with a nice sweetness! We will definitely be back!!

This place gave me all the vibe It's Jamaican-inspired. The decor gives you an island feel it's like you're not even in White Marsh anymore . Shawn was our waiter he gave us a rundown of the menu items he suggested. For Entrees Rasta Pasta and Oxtails with Rice and peas, Signature drinks Rhum Punch and GingaRita( made with tequila, ginger, and pineapple ) There are only 3 appetizers so you can't go wrong with any of them. They have at least 5 cakes for dessert but I was toooo full to indulge.Shawn advised because the food is made fresh and to order it may take awhile but everything came out fast and hot!.. We has such a great experience I can't wait to go back.

A gf and I decided to try Konoko after seeing them featured on an episode of Real Housewives of Potomac and we're so glad we did. Konoko is located within an outdoor shopping mall with limited street parking directly out front of the restaurant but ample parking behind the restaurant which is convenient because the restaurant is located at the end/corner of a strip of stores. The food was delicious. Never had fried salmon bites but this works. They had a nice crunch but the actually salmon was soft and moist. Very delicious. My friend enjoyed her pasta and I absolutely loved the oxtails. They were fall off the bone tender and full of flavor. The service was fantastic as well. We made reservation prior to going, which I highly recommend, and were seated immediately upon entering. We went during lunch time on President's Day and they were packed. Enjoy!

Popped in for a quick $56 lunch. 18% tip included. The Ambiance and service were excellent. The jerk chicken and oxtails were juicy and flavored perfectly. For $35 I would want beans and carrots with my oxtail with a side of cabbage or a choice of few sides and the side salad. The price does not translate to the dish. Way to high. Maybe $25 but not $35. Would I come again? Maybe for drinks but not food. Although good, I can't justify the price. The music was enjoyable. I can see this place being a vibe a night or weekends.

Upon entering you get a warm welcome at the door . They give a full on flight experience . Staff were courteous, well dressed and the restaurant is so nice . We went on a Sunday for brunch and it was well worth the 1+ drive . Our server was so knowledgeable and sweet she made us feel at so comfortable . I love how they give the vibe that you are on a flight to somewhere in the Caribbean . This was my first time trying ox tail and I've been eating it ever since theirs was so tender and full of flavor . Price wasn't too bad for the quality of food and portions . Our drinks were very much on point and aesthetically pleasing everything was actually . The manager who had on a crisp clean white logo blazer so kind and asked us how our experience was and was also very kind and genuine . We will be back for sure !

We made a reservation on a Friday for 4. We were seated on the lounge side and the Dj played music around 7pm. This restaurant is such a vibe. We ordered the Island Gyal drink which was delicious and I really liked the coconut shrimp as well. The cabbage medley was just okay. Our flight attendant, Kelsey was very nice and attentive to our table.

Ok Konoko was surprisingly really good. The food was all good, I have no complaints there. I sat at the bar so I feel like I didn't get the whole experience. But would I go back? Yes! Went here for a birthday event. The restaurant had a modern, clean look and feel. There are two sections, with private party space available upstairs. The decor was vibrant and welcoming. There was a DJ was awesome. His music selections were thoughtful as his Playlist included a variety across all music genres. The servers were very responsive and worked as a team. The food was served hot and came out quickly. For appetizers we had the signature salmon bites which were delicious! I ordered the boneless jerk chicken with white rice - the sauce was tasty and the salad on the side was yummy! I also had some of the goat with rice and peas. Extemely flavorful, tender, perfectly seasoned. I had a few bites of the braised oxtail. It literally melted in my mouth. Food was absolutely delicious. Worth the wait! Treat yourself to a visit.

Let's get into this review!!!! I have been wanting to try this retiring for over a year as many of my loved ones have said it was a must go and they were not lying! Tip number one book a reservation well in advance if you don't want to sit at the bar. We got a seat at the bar and loved it! The staff upon arrival were extremely friendly upon entry and throughout our whole visit. Their customer service was really really impressive. The restaurant was extremely clean and well ran. Upon being seated we were immediately served water and then our server came over to take drink orders. The drinks were extremely delicious and strong which was perfect for me haha. Lots of tropical drinks but they do have a full bar. I felt like some of the the drinks were a little expensive for what you get. We ordered the shrimp to start which was a good value and well cooked. There was a DJ who was there that really helped the vibe! The vibes were really giving and perfect! The music was so good and I was dancing the whole time in my seat. The food did take a little long to come out about 45 mins. We ordered the lamb chops which are market price at $50 dollars ( slightly steep), the cocktail, greens and plantain. The food was very tasty and delicious! We ordered the cheesecake to end as well which was tasty as well. Overall for the value the prices in my opinion are a little high but the food and service are enjoyable as well as the crowd. I would recommend trying their brunch and happy hour. This is a great place to hang by the bar, for a birthday party, date night or just because. Can't wait to go back

Making a reservation nearly a week out was definitely worth it! I went on a Saturday evening. My party arrived about 10 minutes before our reservation and was seated immediately. After a few minutes our "flight attendant" came for our drink and appetizer order. She was knowledgeable and answered all of my questions with a smile and sincerity. I ordered the ginger rita and it was fantastic! As far as dinner I had the goat, plantains and cocoa bread. The food was absolutely delicious! The service was excellent! Our table was cleared frequently and respectful, meaning we were asked if plates could be moved beforehand. Staff stopped just to check that everything was alright. Not to mention they also had a DJ. He played a nice set with a mix of Soca, dancehall and reggae. It added to the ambiance without being loud and taking away from the ambiance. I'm looking forward to checking out happy hour!

This spot really surprised me! When you walk in, you genuinely feel like you've been transported somewhere else. The theme gave me "traveling to Jamaica" vibes and they even refer to your dining experience as a flight. Now let's get into the food and drinks! All of the goodies we had were easily 5 stars. The jerk wings had AMAZING flavor. The shrimp was so tender and not over cooked! The drinks were unbelievably strong but still had great taste. On top of all of that, the service was exceptional! I genuinely loved the staff and they always checked in to see if we needed anything. I'll definitely be back!

This is a vert exciting place to eat. This is also one of the few west Indian restaurants on this side of town. Out for a business dinner we had so many different selections of food. The atmosphere was very tropical and all the servers were dressed like flight attendants . Love that theme. Food: we had so much food. Jerk wings, boneless jerk chicken, friends salmon bits, Rasta pasta, rice and peas, oxtails, salad. Omg it was all so good. I over did it. Please don't come here if you don't want to get food drunk. The oxtail's literally melt in your mouth. Drinks: the drinks are bomb especially the bob Marley. But hey are very expensive. I mean 20$ for a drink in Baltimore is kinda crazy for 6oz. I don't think the drinks cost that much in Washington DC. The last time I went they were 5 $ cheaper. They also scaled down on the hh drink menu. They at least had rum punch before now it was just crushes. I would certainly come back for the food. The food is to die for. My favorite food is the whole snapper. He (the snapper) will tell you a story before you eat him j/k. If it was not for the overly expensive drinks I would have given them 5 stars. Still coming back though. Konoko Restaurant everyone needs you in their life!!! The food, the ambiance, the service were all amazing!!! We were greeted with a smile at the entry and seated by Asia who clearly LOVES what she does! Shawn was our server/Flight Attendant and we were definitely treated to 1st class service. He was friendly, professional, knowledgeable on all the entrées and his recommendations were spot on! Shawn did a great job managing our expectations too by informing us up front that everything is made from scratch AND love, so things may take a little extra time. OMG, you can taste the "one love" in EVERY bite!!! Fresh ingredients, large portions, incredible Jamaican flavors! We WILL be back!

While I think it is a little over price, the food was delicious. The drinks are delicious. The service is exceptional and it's a cute vibe.

This is my second time here and again this spot is top tier. The waitress was fantastic! She knew what we needed before we could even ask. The food was delicious, and came out so fast. The menu alone was so tempting that it really was hard to decide. While we were there a DJ showed up and it was a party.

I joined a large group celebrating my cousin's retirement. There were around 20 adults. We took up an entire dining section near the bar. The staff welcomed us and then seated the entire party. I enjoyed EVERYTHING! I mean this wholeheartedly, and I can't wait to return. The salmon bites, jerk chicken, plantains, and Goat - all AMAZING! I enjoyed my cocktail - Ginger Rita. I loved the ginger in this cocktail. Our waitress was great in the beginning by doing a wonderful job pacing all the food. Towards the end, to-go boxes were forced upon many who were still eating before we even asked. This resulted in a 4* instead of 5. Overall, great time and experience up until the end.

From the time I made reservations, entered the restaurant and sat down to eat, couldn't ask for better service than Konokos. Very friendly attitudes and vibes from the wait staff throughout our dining experience tonight. Everything we ordered was so delicious and plenty of, had to get to go boxes. The decor is amazing and we loved our seating area, very unique.

It was my first time and I enjoyed everything. Food was very flavorful and portions were a great size! We had drinks and they were strong and good. I had sangria and my friend had the bob marley drink (strong & good). For appetizer I had the salmon bites 10/10, they were a great portion and tasted amazing with the sauce! I also had the seafood pasta 12/10, it was great and delicious flavor. I would recommend for a date night, girls night or family celebration. I enjoyed everything snd the service was top tier!

Words cannot even begin to express how amazing my entire experience was at Kōnōkō!!! From the minute I walked in to the resturant, I was greeted by hosts, and brought onboard the Konoko Jamaican Restaurant flight & service/experience !!! The resturant is really beautifully decorated, with different seating options offering tables with additional privacy or to be in the thick of things with the live DJ on Friday - Sunday. As I didn't have a reservation, I was fortunate enough to get a seat at the bar - which was great, because it was a front row seat by the mixologists that were preparing the most gorgeous and tasty cocktails. Going through the menu, I really felt spoiled for choice! There were so many options that I wanted to order, but I settled for the oxtails with rice and peas and a side of Mac n cheese & my friend went with the Kōnōkō seafood pasta. The music and general vibes throughout the entire dining experience was really top notch! It felt like I was teleported to Jamaica for the ultimate vibes!!! Will I be back? Most definitely... Next time, I think for their bottomless brunch! Yes - you read that right... Cannot wait to sample more of the menu, and soak up more of the Kōnōkō vibes!!! "Come fi di food. Stay fi do vibes. Our family decided to check this place out on a whim for a celebration. I am so glad we did! This was by far one of the best restaurants I have ever been to! Pros -Love the flight service we received from Shawn. The theme of the service is airlines and all the servers are dressed as flight attendants. Shawn was personable, accommodating, made great recommendations, and kind -Reservations are highly encouraged. We got lucky as the restaurant just opened up with no reservations. -Ambiance was absolutely beautiful! The restaurant is tastefully decorated! We definitely felt fancy when the moment we walked in. I mean there is a gentleman who personally opens the door for you! -Bathrooms are individual rooms, handicap accessible, and baby changing tables available. -Live DJ spinning some great tunes. -Gorgeous bright bar for hanging out and chatting -Drinks were so fresh, beautifully displayed, strong, and delicious! Various mocktails offered. My kids loved the breezy lemonades. The Three Little Birds is a nice sampler of the KoKomosa. It is in the most beautiful bird glassware! -Food is to die for here! We had the brunch menu and started off with the salmon bites (which my two kids ate) and the jerk wings. OMG them wings.. just a kick of heat and spiced perfectly. Our main entrees... I think nobody talked during that because we were so busy stuffing our faces. The ox tail grits was a large portion and just melted in your mouth. I personally had the seafood pasta.. OMG WORTH EVERY $$$. They do not skimp on the seafood! Lobster tails, scallops, shrimps, crabs.. I am still drooling over it. and the sauce is a cream (not lactose intolerant friendly lol) but again just had enough kick of spicy. Hubby had the jerk lamb and waffles.. I heard not a peep from him LOL. They do not have a kid's brunch menu but did have a side of Belgian waffles with fruit and syrup. Totally my picky kids choice! -Great with diet and allergy restrictions. Shawn was very kind and asked the chef if he/she would prepare an entree that was completely lactose free. Very much appreciated!! -Cheesecake desserts were not overly sweet -Great place for celebrating special occasions Cons -Parking can be tricky in this area since it is a busy shopping center. Maybe in the future they will offer valet. -Prices are on the high end side but it is worth it!! Treat yo self! -I live too far from it but will visit again when I am in town
