Koo Thai - Review - Upper West Side - New York - The Infatuation
"Koo Thai, a neighborhood Thai spot on the Upper East Side, has a second location across Central Park on Columbus Ave. They have a big section of Thai teas, like brown sugar milk tea." - Will Hartman
Wonderful experience! The crab meat fried rice is amazing, everyone must try it! The staff is so cute and nice. We ordered pork spring rolls, duck, pork chops, crab meat fried rice, soft shell crab. I’ll order one more fried rice if I had another stomach lol. It seems just opening, but the food quality is great!

Tried this place and honestly everything was sooo good. The lemongrass grilled chicken with vermicelli noodles was super tasty and full of flavor. I also got the chive pancake as an appetizer and it was crispy and delicious.
For drinks, I couldn’t stop at one — had both the Thai green tea with boba and the Thai iced tea with boba. Both were amazing and super refreshing.
The vibe of the restaurant is really nice too, super cozy and welcoming. Definitely one of those spots I’ll keep coming back to.

I would’ve taken a picture of my food but I ate it too quickly. Some of the best drunken noodles and summer rolls I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to come back and order it 100 more times.
Edit: went back and this time took pics of my food. Absolutely delicious, I LOVE the pad see ew and the tofu summer rolls. I would eat here every day if I could.

I chose to celebrate my birthday dinner here with a few close friends, and it was a wonderful experience. The food is probably the most authentic Thai in the neighborhood—rich flavors, perfectly balanced, and beautifully presented. The dining atmosphere made the night even better: warm, relaxing lighting and a comfortable indoor temperature that set the mood just right. Overall, a fantastic spot for both special occasions and casual nights out.

I ordered several times for picking up because it has great flavor and close to where I live. Every time I walk in, i can feel a very friendly dining environment! Love crispy pork fried rice, and Drunken noodles.

Koo Thai is an absolute gem that manages to elevate familiar Thai classics while retaining the heart and soul of authentic cuisine. From the moment you step through the door, it’s clear this isn't just another neighborhood spot—it's an experience defined by incredible food, impeccable service, and a truly wonderful atmosphere.

Yelp
New Thai spot in Manhattan Valley with a walnutty interior, attentive service and good food.
The pad see ew was tenderly cooked with a generous squid portion. The Thai iced tea was substantial.

Yelp
Guess what? I finally found amazing Thai food on the west side! No more long treks east--just hop on a bus and a quick walk to Columbus Ave, and I'm all set. The flavors are bold, fresh, and totally authentic.
You absolutely have to try the Nam Prik Ong, and it pairs perfectly with an Oolong Tea or Brown Sugar Milk Tea. The staff is super friendly, the place is cozy, and the food always hits the spot. I'm so thrilled that Koo Thai UWS opened--it's now my new favorite spot!

Yelp
The food here was really flavorful and the service was splendid! The portions were pretty big, and the food presentation was good as well. I would definitely come back again! Definitely one of the better Thai restaurants in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Koo Thai/Vietnamese Restaurant is located on the corner of West 105 St. & Columbus Ave. Formerly 'Mekong'. Once again the ambiance is appealing with its brown tones & gold utensils. The staff is young but very accomadating. The dumplings & rolls are very good. The sándwich was a bit bulky but ok & as always, the iced milk teas are creamy & delicious. A nice, quiet place to go eat individualy or as a group.

Yelp
We got the pad see ew, pad thai, eggplant over rice, and 2 Thai iced teas. Portion wise - decent but the flavor could be better. The beef in the pad see ew could also be fresher - it was really hard to chew. Overall I think the quality could be improved.

Yelp
Overpriced and at least 2 items were incorrect: No chicken was inside the Massamun (ONLY PLAIN BREAD). Ordered Brown rice and only got white. The food was average and portions were small. Most and not up to bar of an $80+ price. If I wanted street truck food I would go there. This place and chain should shut down as they do not care about customers orders. Finally I only got a partial refund for the incorrect items, the rest was kept with the supplier. I will never order large again for a new establishment with forged reviews.

Yelp
I tried the Tom Kha, and Tom Yum soups. In one sitting. They were both excellent. Kind service as well. Clean, pleasant atmosphere. I'll be back.

Yelp
We received only three out of the four things we ordered but were charged for all four, $14 extra. We would like to be reimbursed. I wrote to the Koo Thai UWS website and registered my complaint. I hope I hear back. Otherwise, the food was okay, not great. The Tam Yum soup was good, but fried rice wtih chicken.....the chicken was like leather. Probably not a repeat.

Yelp
Great service and the place looks nice. Food was good but nothing crazy to get 5 stars.

I look at food multiple ways and Koo Thai checks off all the boxes. The tastes, textures and sense of nourishment from the dishes I just experienced were phenomenal and extraordinary. You can NOT go wrong dining here. WONDERUL!
