Where to Find Terrific Thai Food in San Diego | Eater San Diego

"The winning combination of classic Thai dishes in a laid-back atmosphere has led to quick success, as the company has expanded under the Aaharn brand. Try the Boat Noodles. It’s a bigger rendition of the small bowls of hot soup served by the merchants who traverse Bangkok’s canals. They also offer jaew hot, a Thai-style shabu with lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, meat, mussels, and two types of noodles." - Helen I. Hwang

We came here for lunch on a weekday and to celebrate a birthday. We were seated right away and the wait staff was very attentive. The menu had pictures, which I appreciated, to help me decide what I wanted to eat. Though everything looked really delicious and they were! The food was authentic and we were able to pick our spice levels for each dish too. I really like the seafood Tom Yum soup, the Laos papaya salad, and the Ka Na Moo Krob. We will have to come back to try something different next time.

TL;DR: If you’re looking for authentic Thai food right in the heart of the Convoy Street food district in San Diego, Koon Thai is a must‑visit. My wife and I came here for a lunch date and loved every bite, from refreshing Thai iced tea and crisp fresh rolls to bold Tom Yum Soup with crispy pork. The highlight was the Pla Pad Cha, a whole deep‑fried fish with a spicy stir‑fry that was both crispy and flavorful. Friendly service, vibrant dishes, and generous portions make this one of the best Thai restaurants in San Diego. ———Longer Review—— My wife and I came here for a lunch date on Convoy Street, and it was absolutely fantastic. The ambience and service were both welcoming, but the real star was the food. My wife started with Thai iced tea, which was perfectly sweet and refreshing, and we shared Fresh Rolls (both shrimp and tofu) that were light, crisp, and paired beautifully with the curried peanut sauce. The Tom Yum Soup with Crispy Pork was bold, tangy, and comforting; it was delightful at the mild heat level my wife requested. And then there was the Pla Pad Cha: A whole deep‑fried fish topped with a colorful, spicy stir‑fry. This was the showstopper (hence why it deserves its own paragraph). Crispy, flavorful, and loaded with veggies and herbs, it was the kind of dish you can’t stop talking about. I went with the highest spice level (Fiery - 10) and they absolutely delivered! The crunch of the fish skin combined with the tender fish was enough to be worth the price. I tried to finish the entire thing, but even without eating the rice, I had to take home several pieces of fish. Everything was fresh, vibrant, and clearly made with care. Anyone looking for a great spot for a date, family meal, or even just a treat, absolutely must visit Koon Thai. We’ll definitely be back!

Fun atmosphere. Cute decor.. Attentive wait staff. A little bummed they didn't offer green curry. Decent size portions. Value in prices. The tables and benches were a little funky with mismatched cushions. We almost tipped bench when reaching over table but had a good laugh over it. definitely worth a try. I would say it was a 4.5. everything was good but not a solid 5.

Came here for lunch on a Saturday. There was plenty of parking since it was still early. But when we left the restaurant, so many cars were circling and waiting for people to leave. We ordered the spring rolls. It was pretty decent. My friend ordered the pad thai and it was good. My spicy noodles were delicious. I had it with crispy pork and it made it for a great treat. This place is a definitely go to for Thai food if you go early in the day or have patience looking for parking.

Google
The food was so great. Everything is around $20 and up but the flavor is great. The rib eye steak was cooked perfectly to my liking and the sauce under it was so flavorful. Service was also great. Very attentive and nice servers. I will definitely be back to try new stuff!! But I’ll be getting the steak again for sure.

Google
Koon Thai offers a diverse mix of traditional and modern Thai dishes, including vegan and vegetarian options. They have a very nice hip atmosphere and is nicely decorated. I ordered the Khao Khar Moo (F1 in the menu), and my wife had the Pad See Ew (G10 in menu), and the Tom Yum Soup. All of the food came out fresh and tasted very good. The pork in my order was very tender and flavorful. Most of the food on my plate, however, had a soup base almost drowning everything in my plate. The photo didn’t show it having that liquid. But whatever it was, it made the food so tasty. I will definitely come back to try more options. The service is very good and efficiently fast.

Koon Thai Kitchen is a San Diego staple, thriving for years in the competitive Convoy neighborhood, and for good reason. They go beyond the standard Thai fare with plenty of unique dishes. On our latest visit, we tried the pineapple fried rice, yum pla todd, and pad thai pu nim. All three dishes were spot-on in flavor. The only small surprise was that they didn’t ask for our preferred spice level like they usually do, maybe they noticed we had a toddler with us and assumed we’d want it mild. Service was excellent: prompt, attentive, and courteous. As a bonus, they offered us shrimp chips while we waited for our table, which was a nice touch.

I was visiting friends in California this past week but am writing this during my layover. I went with a friend and her family for my last dinner of my trip and Koon Thai’s food certainly didn’t disappoint. We had a variety of dishes to share amongst the four of us but of the ones we ordered I absolutely loved the crab fried rice and pad see ew. The host and wait staff were very friendly and on top of things with us as well as the other tables they were assisting. They would check in frequently to efficiently handle any needs we had during the meal. Another strong suit was that the decor inside the restaurant was gorgeous and I couldn’t help looking around while I ate (and even taking pictures). It felt very elegant while still feeling warm and welcoming. I will definitely be back the next time I visit California.

Yelp
The food was fresh, full of flavor, and came out quickly. Our server Gigi was amazing--super friendly, gave great recommendations, and made sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
I would give more than 5 stars if I could!!! Me and my boyfriend walked in this restaurant last night. Although it looked busy from the outside, you would never guess it was busy by how attentive and kind the staff was. We were seated at a beautiful table very quickly and ordered some very delicious drinks. I ordered the lychee cocktail and it was so sooooo good!!! It had two lychees and a cherry on top and it was served in a beautiful glass. (I got to try lychee fruit for the first time and I loved it! I always loved the flavor but the fruit is SO JUICY and sooo TASTY!! I made my boyfriend try it too and he doesn't even like sweet things but he liked it too!!) As we tried to decide what we wanted to eat off of their wonderfully curated menu, (with so many vegetarian options, I have to add that because as a vegetarian that loves to go try new restaurants, often you'll be stuck with one or two options if you're lucky but here- you have almost half the menu to choose from! which is so refreshing!), we couldn't help but notice the gorgeous decor inside. Every angle of this restaurant was picturesque. You can tell whoever decorated this space really took the time to make the atmosphere both visually stunning and unique! Our server was Ann, and she was the best server ever in the whole world! She made us feel like family, like we were regular customers, like how you would treat a close friend! She made sure we had everything we need, and that the food and drinks were to our liking. When the food came out we were so excited to try it because it was beautifully plated and there was no disappointment once we tried it- it was the best vegetable massaman I've had! They use real thai chili peppers- and you can tell! The aromatic spices filled your mouth and the peppers would creep up at the end (instead of overpowering the whole dish, the massaman here was perfectly balanced and still had a good kick to it!) My boyfriend tried duck for the first time here and he loved it! His dish looked very grand and beautiful! He is a spice lover so he got a level 10 spice and he had the same sentiment as I did with the spice. It didn't overpower the aromatic flavors but had a big kick at the end. We were both very happy we chose this restaurant for date night! Our server, Ann, made it an amazing experience, the atmosphere and interior design was incredible, the food was in perfect portions and was absolutely so delicious, every single thing you could want in a restaurant- this place has it. We will definitely be coming back! If you're reading this review wondering whether you should choose this place to eat at, stop reading reviews and go there now!! I promise you won't regret it. Thank you to all the staff working there! You gave us a night to remember and a restaurant we can always count on and recommend to any one we meet! You're all awesome!

Yelp
Absolutely amazing Thai food in San Diego - one of my favorites for sure. The PAD SEE EW with CHICKEN is so flavorful. Not pictured is the THAI YELLOW CURRY with CHICKEN. It has so much chicken - they are very generous with portions.

Yelp
Koon Thai was one of my go-to places when I was in college years ago, and I recently had the chance to come back and see how it's changed since. They have a massive menu with so many good options. I ended up getting one of the pork street food dishes and it was honestly SO good. They have a lot of the main things people might want from a Thai place, but also has a number of other things that aren't as common. If you're not as familiar with Thai food, they have photos and descriptions on most food items, which helped me try this new to me dish. The service was great when I went on a weeknight! They were super fast and constantly refilled out beverages. I almost never had to flag anyone down the whole time. Seating was fairly available when i got there at 6:30 pm also, but unsure if it gets busier on weekends. One downside is parking! This lot is full of many food places which makes parking difficult to get at times. Despite that, i still highly recommend Koon Thai!

Yelp
We were in the mood for Thai food and Koon Thai Kitchen was nearby. What a beautiful modern restaurant!! We loved their decor and ambiance. Of course, their employees were very friendly and patient with us. We interacted with a few. From the person seating us, the other taking our orders, and to the person taking our dishes. All were full of smiles and kindness. I was disappointed that they didn't have Pork Larb. They only offer the Chicken Larb. I ordered KA~NA Moo Krob. It's stirred fried pork belly with Chinese broccoli!! OMGOODNESS!! This was DELICIOUS!! I'll definitely order that again. The Sam Chan Tod Nam Pla was a hit as well! You can't go wrong with pork belly! We also enjoyed the Gyoza and Cream Cheese appetizers. Overall, a nice dining experience. Parking is a shared parking lot which was a tricky experience trying to find parking at the PEAK of lunch rush!! A little on the pricier side for small portions. However, it tasted GREAT!!! It was definitely a nice treat out!!!

Yelp
In the area with a friend and wanted to try this place out. Our server,Joe, was attentive and helpful with menu suggestions. We ordered Panang curry chicken and Pad Thai with Shrimp. So delicious, each bite a flavor bomb. The curry was both sweet and spicy with the right combination of earthy flavors. The pad Thai with shrimp was more of a comfort food,in the best possible way, everything was on point. Shrimp and noodles were succulent and delicious! The place is super cute too, Asian themed throughout. Seriously you should try it out! We will definitely return to try out more menu options.

Yelp
Not the best Thai place ever. It's decent but I just wasn't a big fan of the flavor or the pad Thai. Appetizers are decent but my favorite Thai spot is far superior. The crispy chicken curry with the noodle was my least favorite. It's just a mess to eat and the noodles just end up soggy. It looks so much better than how it tastes. Inside is nice and spacious and clean. I like the open windows that bring in a lot of light. Service was quite slow. We had to ask for waters and ask to order because they were taking so long and just standing there. I do appreciate their happy hour! That was actually worth it, but everything else was not.

Yelp
Decided to come back and give this place another try and order other dishes! Also discovered the buy one get one appetizer (only certain ones) free during happy hour. Food: Sam Chan Tod Nam Pla (9/10) - crispy, good protein, good flavor especially paired with the sauce Thai Jerky [Beef] (6/10) - a bit dry but paired with a good sauce Som Tum [Thai] - (7.5/10) - pretty refreshing and flavorful salad Creamy Tom Yum Goong Yai (7.5/10) - you can definitely taste coconut milk, it's flavorful and spicy. It was a bit too salty for me though. Spicy Fried Rice (8/10) - good portion to share, flavorful, spicy kick Crispy Tofu (8/10) - crispy but not too dry, yummy with sauce Gyoza (8/10) - nothing special but a decent gyoza. crispy and warm. Service: They were very nice and helpful as always! Ambiance: It gets busy even on a Monday. The atmosphere is buzzing with conversations at every table. The decorations are very floral and pretty!

Yelp
Koon Thai Kitchen is a longtime Asian eatery in the Convoy District. I have come several times in the past including once as a host of a group dinner. This visit was during a weekend lunch hour in which the place was nearly full during the first hour of operation. It seems that the decor has been updated over time to reflect a more intricate design reflective of Thai culture. One aspect of this restaurant is that the spiciness levels are authentic and not watered down for Americanized palates. Take note if you bring guests who may not be aware of this. On a sign posted outside the entrance was photos of several featured items. I chose the Goong Sarong from the grouping as an appetizer which was five shrimp skewers wrapped with fried egg noodles on the exterior. A sweet chili sauce was provided on the side. The presentation was quite photogenic, and the sauce was a perfect dip for the crunch wrapped shrimp. The Crab Fried Rice was my entree which took some time to prepare because I think it's one of the most popular choices. Their version is one of the best I have tried mainly due to the fluffiness of the rice. Add in the shredded pieces of real crab meat, and you have a simple well-executed dish. The service was slower than I expected, however the staff was trying their best to keep up with the volume of business. My latest experience at Koon Thai Kitchen was still at a four star level.

Yelp
Love... love.... love... We like this place a lot! Always on the point in every aspect!

Yelp
The Tom Yum soup here is incredible, I went with a spice level 6, and it had just the right kick while still being full of that tangy, savory flavor Thai food is known for. The Pad See Ew with chicken was amazing, perfectly savory with a nice hint of spice. The fried rice options were also fantastic, both the spicy fried rice and the pineapple fried rice were flavorful and satisfying. The Thai tea was alright, though a bit too sweet and didn't have enough of that classic tea flavor for my taste. Overall, the savory dishes definitely stole the show! The service is amazing and there is lots of seating.

Yelp
This was my first time trying Thai food that is not Pad Thai, and I was very pleasantly surprised! I ordered the pa nang curry and khao soi gai todd and loved both of them. The khao soi gai todd was a sweeter curry broth with pieces of chicken tenders in the dish. I liked the chicken--it made the dish quite filling! The dish also supposedly has chili oil drizzled on it, but I did not taste any spice at all. The pa nang curry was also very delicious. It was a curry made with coconut milk, and that made the dish quite sweet and creamy! I definitely would recommend both dishes. Overall, I had a great experience at Koon Thai! The food was sweet, savory, and unique! The only critique I have is regarding the portion sizes. The portions are a bit small for their price...

Yelp
Food here always hits!! This time for the Massamun curry and tom yum noodle soup. Super savory and flavorful! Our waitress, Gigi was super friendly and efficient with our orders. Restaurant has plentiful seating and interesting details/decor to look at. Parking lot here is big compared to rest of convoy which is nice.
google avatar

Annabel H.

Yelp
This is the spot for flavorful, authentic Thai food! I would personally give this spot a 4.5/5. Food: The spicy red curry was perfectly flavorful and rich with a touch of spice. I ordered it with chicken. The yellow curry was a tad too sweet and heavier but otherwise fine. Ambiance: Pretty nice interior, nothing crazy but it's clean and warm. Interior noise level was good, not too loud not too quiet. Service: Our server, Gabe, was very nice and attentive. Service was wonderful and we were promptly seated and taken care of. Other: There's a huge parking lot, especially for Convoy so parking is super easy even on weekends.

Yelp
Great place for authentic Thai dishes you can't find at other Thai restaurants. I really enjoyed the shrimp skewers, spare ribs and pad se ew. The tom yum soup is was good but needed more broth. I think I prefer the original one without the pork belly added. Overall, Koon is one of our go to Thai places.

Yelp
The Thai food at Koon Thai is authentic and delicious. They have a lot of unique options on their menu that you won't find in other Thai restaurants in San Diego. However, my group experienced a few issues with the service. Firstly, they did not provide us utensils - we had to ask for forks and spoons, chopsticks, and then napkins, which all came separately after our food was plated. Second, a server brought out my order, left it on another table, and didn't place it on our table until 5-10 minutes later. Lastly, they didn't give us to-go boxes, and when we asked, they didn't give us bags either. We felt like our group was an afterthought. I had no issues with the quality or pricing of the food. The establishment's interior design was also gorgeous. However, I am a bit disappointed in the service my group experienced at this restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
The service was slow. But it was a very nice place. When in San Diego got to try this place. The portion are big and flavorful. The spring rolls could have been rolled tighter. But it was still good

Yelp
Ordered catering so I can only comment on the food. Got 3 small trays for 8 people at the recommendation of the staff on the phone, but it was probably too much for a party of that size. Their website says each small serves 4-5, so I think 2 small trays for 8 is a lot more reasonable unless you want more variety/plenty of leftovers. I want to say the small was about a half tray size, roughly a large casserole dish. We got the drunken noodle tray, yellow curry tray, and the thai fried rice tray. Drunken noodles w beef: Flavor was good but the noodles were a little mushy, possibly the result of having it prepared in a larger quantity and delivered. Yellow curry w chicken: Comes with white rice, super savory and a little sweet from the coconut. My favorite of the 3 dishes. Definitely the item to order, and great value as you get one full tray of curry and one full tray of rice for the same price. Thai fried rice w chicken: It was good, but I have tried their pineapple fried rice before which was much more standout in flavor and texture from the cashews. I would get that instead (small upcharge for getting catering trays of that since it's under their specials). Chicken is the better of the two meat options, the beef was a little overcooked and tough. The mild spice level is barely noticeable, doesn't register as spicy. I wouldn't hesitate to do mild if you don't like spice, or at least medium if you want to taste it. Overall I would try their food again, perhaps some of the less people-pleasing party options and also choose to dine in at the restaurant. A lot of the bold flavors I love in Thai food are there, but for now it's a 4 stars because the execution wasn't 100% on the catering items we ordered.

Yelp
Still one of my favorite Thai spots in SD! Been coming here for years and our favorite server is still Sandy! She is always so friendly and welcoming!
google avatar

Yelp
Solid Thai food. Full transparency that we came here days after returning from a trip to Thailand. The menu actually has a lot of the classic Thai dishes from all over Thailand. So it was kind of cool seeing some of those dishes, like the khao soi. We got the pad woon sen with chicken and the pineapple fried rice. Both at a spiciness level of 7. Both dishes were tasty! A good amount of ingredients in both and good flavor. The 7 spice level is definitely high but I still found it enjoyable while my partner said he'd probably do around a 5 next time. Pick your poison! The only negative would be that everyone's food came out at very different times. Not just 5 or so minutes. Probably close to 15. With a group of 10 it just made to a slightly less great experience. Service was nice and friendly otherwise.
google avatar

Julieanne H.

Yelp
As a self-proclaimed Thai food snob, I'll admit--my standards are sky-high, especially when it comes to my ultimate benchmark dish: drunken noodles. While I wouldn't say these were the best I've ever had in my life, they were undeniably fresh, and the noodles? Absolute perfection. Cooked to that magical texture--soft but still with a little bite. The flavor was solid, though I found myself wishing for a bit more punch--more Thai basil, maybe some tomatoes--but overall, it was a seriously satisfying dish. The craftsmanship in those noodles alone was impressive. I also got to sneak a few bites off my tablemates' plates (lucky me), and they were absolutely raving. They're San Diego locals and regulars here, which says a lot. I'm visiting from Northern California where we've got so many stellar Thai spots in Sacramento San Francisco, Berkeley San Jose in Fremont and even then, I'm already plotting my return visit with my whole extended family in tow. There are so many dishes I'm dying to try, especially the Tamarind Duck--one of my all-time faves. The menu is so extensive it was honestly painful not to order half of it on the spot. The vibe is effortlessly cool, the ambiance relaxed but stylish, and the staff? Super on it--efficient, friendly, even with a giant crowds, trying to get in for a weekday early lunch This place truly deserves a full five stars. Can't wait to come back and feast properly.

Yelp
We were quickly seated on a busy Saturday night. The Tom Yum Noodles were so flavorful and had a strong amount of lime in the broth. The boat noodles were spiced very well and had a healthy amount of beef in the bowl. The curry was also well made and was a decent size. The casual eatery was packed and lively. Service was quick and helpful.
google avatar

Sandy N.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday and was seated right away. We ordered Crab Fried Rice, Pad Thai with Mock Duck, and Boat Noodle Soup. The Crab Fried Rice was the best one out of the three. They put a generous amount of crab meat which made every bite worth it. Each bite was very well seasoned and got me wanting more. The Pad Thai was okay. It had plenty of flavor but maybe a bit too much to the point where it was very salty and sweet at the same time. Noodles were also a bit overcooked. The mock duck that came with it was cooked perfectly, chewy and had a unique taste for those new to it. Lastly was the boat noodle soup. I felt like it was again very flavorful, however, I thought the soup was very salty. I also didn't really like the texture of the soup, but I guess it's supposed to taste like that. Overall, I did like the generous amount of meat and portion size they provided. Service was quick and attentive. Large dining area for large parties. Parking was easy since it's shared with other restaurants in a large lot.

Yelp
Tom yum noodle soup with crispy pork belly. That's it. This bowl was just as good as it sounds. The creamy tom yum was incredibly flavorful and so well balanced. The rice noodles soaked up all of the yummy broth. The crispy pork belly was top notch. The skin was super crispy and the meat was juicy and succulent. The onsen egg was creamy and delicious too. One of the best bowls of noodle soup I've had in a long time. Service was friendly and there was a great lunch menu. Price is on par with the rest of town. Beautifully decorated inside. A great spot all around for a date or to catch up with friends.

Yelp
This place is YUMMY. Perfect for gatherings with booth seating, and great menu offerings. It's always nicely decorated in a different theme when I walk in. Service is attentive, and they offer combos/deals on appetizers and meals. F 5 Tom Yum Noodle Crispy Pork: really awesome. The soup is delicious and sour, a hearty tomato-based flavor I am starting to fall in love with. The crispy pork has this satisfying crisped chewy coating that pairs it well. I think this street food special dish has the best of three worlds- broth, noodles, and crispy pork. Massamun Curry: Spice is tolerable for the weak, and it's a sweeter flavor many might enjoy. Panang curry: more savory, stronger flavor profile. Apps: Fried tofu and gyoza are a good bite to share. The cream cheese wontons and the satay skewers knock it out of the park- top choices for sure! Try the 4-apps deal if you have a party. Koon Thai earns their popularity as a well established thair restaurant. Can't go wrong here.

Yelp
Lunch at Koon Thai was so delish and comparable to Thai cuisine in LA. We got the basil duck and fried rice for 2 people and it was more than enough. This duck was so crispy juicy and went so well with the vegetables. Our server Gigi was also so kind and quick with service! Will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
Service was quick and helpful, and we came when it was not too busy. I actually do not recommend the spicy fried rice. As pictured it was not spicy at all when we told them we were ok with a level 5 out of 10. It was like a level 0. Also it was lacking some flavor. Otherwise the pad see ew was super flavorful, hot, and not too salty. The Khao soi ga todd fried chicken was super crunchy and tender, but I did wish there was more soup with the noodles.

Yelp
Koon Thai hits all the right notes--great happy hour deals, tons of unique dishes, and a menu packed with variety you don't see every day. Appetizers are especially worth it during happy hour--flavorful, well-portioned, and affordable. From traditional staples to more adventurous picks, there's something new to try every visit. Great spot if you want to mix it up and still get authentic Thai flavors.
google avatar

Yelp
This isn't about the food--it's about the service. When I walked in, I let the hostess know it was just for one person. I politely asked if they had Wi-Fi, and she said no, which is fine. But the way she followed it up with, "Do you still wanna eat?" came across as dismissive and rude. It really set the wrong tone right from the start. So I decided to just say, "No thank you, have a good day and good luck." With that kind of attitude from the beginning, I knew I wouldn't have enjoyed my meal.

Food was amazing!!! Me and buddy especially loved the saucy flavorful pad Thai, but personally I would rate every dish we got at least a 9+ out of 10. We got the -massaman curry -khao soi chicken (super good) -pad kee mao (drunken noodles) -Thai tea Our server Katy was awesome too. Checked on us frequently and accommodated to my peanut allergy smoothly :) Place was super nice and cozy with a lot of Thai feel! Plenty of seating as well Only thing is I wish the pad kee map have more veggies than just bell pepper. Maybe some tomato or leafy greens would nice.

Yelp
Food was great as usual but the service was shockingly a turnoff ( -1 star here). Koon Thai was our goto place and we were pretty loyal diners here, that might change. Other experiences were good in the past but the latest time left a sour taste for us. We went on a Thursday night and surprisingly, the restaurant was pretty crowded (not packed but had good traffic). The occasion was a send-off gathering, so naturally we were trying to get as much conversation in as possible. Our waitress came to our table and asked what we wanted and we had some general ideas but we were still discussing. Rather than give us more time, she stood there and waited. When we discussed amongst ourselves for what protein we wanted, she gave us a pushy, "What would you like to order?" We rushed to finish ordering and she walked off. Our dining experience was alright but we had an empty pot in front of us for a while which got in the way of our dining since we were eating family style. The waitress walked past us many times to other tables and simply ignored us. When we tried to ask her to take away the empty pot she gave us a, "I can't," with a tone that told us that we were being a nuisance for asking for a simple item to be taken away. We moved it to the DIRTY table next to us (Dirty emphasized since we weren't willing to be rude and place an empty pot on a clean table) and of course that earned us a nice side eye when she went and cleaned that table up. We finished our meal and got our check. We asked to order a dish togo and when asked about the spice level, she gave us so much attitude - as if we were supposed to know that the restaurant doesn't have 1-3 spice on their range of spices, only 0, 4-10 for this ONE specific dish. Specific since when she asked us what we wanted for our other dishes, we said 3 and she said Ok. We got our stuff and left. Honestly, at least the food was good. That was the one thing that saved this review from hitting 2 or 3 stars for the service. Highly likely will not be coming back. I don't like being petty and picky with servers and service, but I'd prefer to not have to pay to be treated like a nuisance. Unfortunate since the food here is really, really good. Overall Rating: Food: 10/10 Service: ....LMAO / 10 Menu: 10/10 Restaurant Vibes: 10/10 Price to Overall Dining (POD): 7/10 - Don't get me wrong, the price of the food items are good, the service just makes it a terrible overall dining.

Yelp
IG: @allysxn.eats tried their pad thai, pineapple fried rice, and red curry. all were tasty and fresh, satisfied the thai food cravings. go-to spot for a lot of my friends! of note, sometimes can be difficult to find parking.

Yelp
Crab fried rice was a little bland but it's ok after the chilly sauce or salt. I had the crab seperated. Love it! Pad Thai need more wet and seasoning. Need spicy level 7 next time :) I also wished there were more peanut and fried tofu.

Yelp
Koon Thai Kitchen in Convoy offers an authentic Thai dining experience. As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by a pedicab; an iconic three-wheeled bicycle with a carriage, which added to the cultural atmosphere. The staff, dressed in traditional attire and speaking Thai, made us feel as if we had stepped right into Thailand. The service was friendly and attentive and the restaurant was kept clean. As for the food, it did not disappoint. We tried lemon-seared seafood, stir-fried tofu, shrimp curry and white rice. Each dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. It was a delightful meal all around.

Yelp
Drunken noodles were good. Not as hot as I thought an 8 would be. I'm really disappointed with the tom kha soup. It was a few shrimp, cabbage and mushroom. Most places do bell pepper, carrots and onion. I asked for chili and they never came back. Just got our order and brought the bill lol.
