"This long-running College Station burger joint resembles a roadhouse with wood paneling and neon beer signs. The menu doesn’t break new ground, but who needs to innovate a chicken-fried steak? Takeout orders can be placed online; there are indoor and outdoor dine-in services." - Brandon Watson

Come out of CS proper and find this place. Quintessential old school CS burger-bar place, still family friendly though. The atmosphere is comfy, service friendly and fast. Try the burger basket and huge chicken fried steak. 4-stars because the tables felt sticky even though the wait staff cleaned up immediately after everyone left.

Koppel Bridge has been a family tradition since 2000, when our children started at Texas A&M. The beer is cold, burgers are large, and home cut fries are served in large portions. The hot wings were meaty and flavorful. It can sometimes get really crowded really quickly. We came with our granddaughters volleyball team and parents and were fortunate enough to have enough space in the back room. We had a good time ate our fill and enjoyed the visit. We will return on our next visit to Aggieland.

Great little hike in the wall place. The fries were off the hook. The chicken fried steak sandwich was delicious. Beer selection is ok, would be great if they offered some local drafts.

We came here a lot before the COVID-19 pandemic because they had the best burgers in town, no doubt. Their fries are also really good and have a nice crispiness to them. However, something changed after 2020 with their burgers, and I guess I get it, money got tight. The burgers may have been frozen or I don't know what. We stopped coming. But then we gave it another shot after over 2 years of nothing, and I am glad to report they have returned to the fresh burger patties from before! This is awful for my wallet but so good for my belly. I ordered the 1/2 pound burger with cheese and fries and it was the heavenly beef I once knew. My wife got the same and couldn't finish hers. My kids got the grilled cheese with fries, which drives me crazy because I could make that at home in less then 2 minutes and for WAY cheaper. But kids will be kids. We all got drinks (no beer) as well and it came out to around $55. The girls at the front weren't particularly friendly but the cooks in the back are always extremely helpful and polite. Any dumb questions I throw their way and they always answer promptly with a smile. Like, "Where is the ketchup?" To which I found out they have about 15 FULL containers right there near the cash registers. Whoops! This place also has pool tables in the back but we've never played here. We always sit outside when the weather is nice like it was last weekend. They have plenty of tables out there and the kids can run around and get some energy out. They have a speaker outside so you can still hear your order. This place is great and we will be back --- just waiting on my paycheck!

Google
The service when ordering is great. Kitchen service is a little off. The food is good, but the appetizers are something that need work. The prices and portions are off and definitely not worth it. We had the famous burger. It was good, but not award winning or fantastic. Much better burgers all around college station and the rest of Texas. Very cool atmosphere, sitting at a former President’s favorite table was a cool experience. Very cool vibe and a cool place to be. Overall, they deserve a 3.5 star rating. Definitely worth a visit, the food is good. Also, the burger and fries were a very nice portion.

Google
Great hangout spot. They did a lot to get the atmosphere, and an awesome outdoor space which was enjoyable. Staff was very friendly. Food was about average for a college burger place. Tasty and filling but nothing too special or over the top. I would go again if I got the urge for a good burger.

Google
Fun burger spot with lots of meat lover options for a great price. Got a burger with grilled onions and mushrooms along with some tater tots. Has a lot of indoor seating and some outdoor seating. Definitely nothing fancy here, but it’s solid, filling food. Would recommend as a lunch spot if you’re having cravings for some classic American food.

Google
If you want a good burger stop in here. One of the best places for a hamburger in College Station. They also have good chicken fried steaks and I love the French fries! Good prices and good service.

Yelp
Was in College Station recently and was wanting to hit a spot that was local approved. Asked around and a few folks recommended Koppe. It's a few miles from campus and A&M stadium and is situated in a historic building that used to be a small Shiner Brewery. It's no frills- Cheap beer, burgers, and a ton of character. We started with the fried pickles and they were absolutely awesome, tasted fresh and not of some frozen variety. Followed that up with a third pound cheeseburger with fries, some dipping sauce and it was solid. It was big and the hand cut fries were awesome. The place has amazing tables with carved initials and messages on them. You can smell the history in here. Staff was friendly to a fault too and very welcoming. It's an awesome spot if you're wanting something more casual in the area that's not a chain with some personality. Loved it.

Yelp
Five star experience at this College town burger joint Great wings, Cold beer, juicy burgers 5/5!

Samuel C.

Yelp
Koppe Bridge is reputed to have the best hamburger in College Station. I had the wings. My advice: Get the burger.

David C.

Yelp
Lots of food in a rustic atmosphere. Burgers are great as are the fries. Can be very crowded during events such as game day weekends.

Yelp
Great catfish and burgers nice place to check out. The tartar sauce is really great too good place for a beer.

Laura K.

Yelp
They have great burgers . Not a fan of the French fries though. The service is always good

Melanie G.

Yelp
Solid burger. Pleasantly surprised with this little hole in the wall burger joint. The burger actually had flavor; and the bun was toasted--after being coated in butter probably. Terribly delicious. The fries looked terrible, and I figured I wouldn't eat more than one or two, but again, I was pleasantly surprised. Much tastier than they look.

Yelp
Do NOT GO HERE if you are a large party! We went on Sunday and someone had taken all the outside tables for a bday party and inside the tables are all bolted down 4 tops! We were a party of 5 so we took the bar area but it was not a great spot for conversation and *right* next to the trash can. The food is great, but they really need to have a better set up for larger groups. Expect a long line. We arrived about 15 min after open, and there was already a line about 20 people long. Moved relatively quickly, probably 10 min or so.

Deborah R.

Yelp
Food is great! The outdoor seating area is amazing for families or groups. Highly recommend the catfish basket. Fresh (never frozen) fish. Breading is crispy.

Mike T.

Yelp
Wow, what a really good burger! Pro tip, show up early to avoid the lunch crowd. Very well seasoned and juicy burger, the only reason it's not a 5 star is the fries. Fast and friendly service

Chris P.

Yelp
I lived in Cstat for a couple of years and I've never understood the hype about Koppe bridge. It's a small little shack that feels tight inside and gets overcrowded very easily. The people working at the register seem to be frustrated or annoyed taking your order and they don't offer table service. I will say the burgers are good not great. The fries are terrible. They are soft & limp with no seasoning. Overall you'll probably enjoy eating at whataburger more than eating here. Management / Owner if y'all see this for the love of God have someone else announce when the orders ready. The regular guy y'all have ordering sounds like a screeching Turkey and is very annoying!

Anna Lisa G.

Yelp
Great place to get a burger! There were signs proclaiming awards for best burgers and they sure didn't disappoint. Really delicious with toasted buns...so good! Very generous helpings of homemade fries. They have a big patio our back with additional seating. You order at the counter and they bring out your food and you serve your own drinks at the fountain. Very well priced place to grab lunch or dinner. The only suggestion I have would be to add some dessert to the menu or at the very least a root beer float or some pie and ice cream. That would have been great after them meal.

Yelp
Really great hole in the wall in College Station. Was at a sporting event at A&M and everyone was going to chains like Bryn and Hopdoddy, both of which are great, but this place was a great local hub, about 2 miles from campus. Old wooden building and really nice staff. Megan took care of us and she was great. I had the burger, medium rare with jalapeños and fries. My wife had the "small" chicken friend steak but of course, size is relative as It was huge. Burger was solid, fries good and CFS was excellent, nice breading and great gravy. Had a couple of beers and watched Michigan be Nebraska. Thumbs up for a local place with great folks!

Ryan M.

Yelp
My family and I entered the restaurant around an hour before closing, and all ordered their burger platters which they were most known for. They ran out of any type of fries, which forced us to order their onion rings. About 15 minutes goes by and our food is ready. To say this meal was a waste of money is an understatement. The bacon in 2 of our sandwich's were totally undercooked and chewy, so chewy even our friends that had accompanied us to the restaurant claimed it was raw. The burger it self was okay at best. However, going into the sides, the onion rings were good, until I reach into the basket and pulled out a undercooked onion ring that they seem to have forgotten to fry, as the batter just simply started to goop off the raw onion. We also got their wings, which in all honesty tastes great! However, some of our pieces were very veiny, fatty, and chewy as well. It's very unfortunate we did not take pictures of our meals from that day and will not be coming back to this establishment.

James R.

Yelp
food was great and atmosphere was very comfortable for a casual Friday lunch....we both had the burger basket

Madelyn D.

Yelp
I got a grilled chicken sandwich and it was great! The main thing I was impressed by was the fries. Very similar to five guys. Food came out fast and staff was pleasant.

Kate B.

Yelp
Good burgers, great BLT sandwiches, homestyle fries, fun ambience...we had a great time!

Dakota K.

Yelp
This was definitely average. The chicken fried steak was about a 5/10 it tasted like it was fried in grease that hasn't been changed in several days. It also didn't have much flavor. The catfish was a 6/10. It tasted like lake water and wasn't friend in the correct batter for fish. The tartar sauce was absolutely terrible. It was sour and tasted like rotten milk. If you have other options I would choose them.

Evan S.

Yelp
The burger was a 2 out of 10. It had a lukewarm patty and was shaped exactly like the CostCo frozen patty. Machine formed (uniform star shaped) for sure. The bun was grocery store national brand level not artisan bakery level. The Swiss cheese was the Kraft singles kind you get at the grocery store and it wasn't even melted in the bun. The fries were soggy and cool to the touch. 81 cents extra for the gravy. Four of us ate for $75 (including two appetizers and one drink) the queso had a film on top and was bland. Think melted white cheese velveta. The chips were store bought generic chips not something they splurged on and gave very little chips for an $8 appetizer. The sweet tea was not sweet and the lemons were tiny nearly-juiceless dried out wedges that needed 4-5 for one cup of tea. The line was long from counter to the door so it took 20 minutes to place the order. The line ran through the middle of the restaurant and led outside. Meaning you have to cross the line multiple times to get to your table and back again to get your food. Because of the crowds there were not many tables available to sit once you get your food. The cashier and cook were friendly but didn't make up for the food. Would not come back.

Connor B.

Yelp
If you're looking for a comfortable environment to get some good food this is the place to go. The food has gotten a little more expensive since the pandemic but that is expected. The staff is very helpful and the beer is ice cold.

Janet A.

Yelp
I've never eaten inside, but the pickup service is always fast, friendly, and the burgers are melt in your mouth delicious!

Jen D.

Yelp
This is a local burger joint and it is a little hard to find driving up (no giant commercial sign). The burgers were good, cooked through and fixing were fresh and tasty. The fries were delicious. We tried the fried dill pickle spears and onion rings- also cooked to perfection.

Terry S.

Yelp
Staff Friendly a little slow on the food. Chicken fried steak heavily breaded with no taste.

Kimberly L.

Yelp
Great food and great atmosphere. Busy before games but they do a good job of moving the line quickly and getting food out fast.

Lisa H.

Yelp
One of the best burgers in Brazos Valley. This is our go to burger joint. Never had a bad one here. Counter workers always nice and helpful.

Jack H.

Yelp
The best service and food for a local restaurant that has been here forever Try the chicken fried steak sandwich it's the bomb

Renissa M.

Yelp
Food was very good. Service was very good. Restaurant ambiance good. Restaurant temperature was HOT!! Ceiling fans weren't on or working. The ones that were, were struggling. We went in the evening.

Suzanne D.

Yelp
Super huge chicken fried steak as big as a platter! Tasted AMAZING! Atmosphere was cool as well!

Brad M.

Yelp
Our table ordered burgers, philly cheese steak, chicken wrap and onion rings. All were great. Once we ordered, it came quickly.

Jim O.

Yelp
Just a oh . Ambiance looks better from the road was extremely loud inside for such a large place but was able to move to more tolerating noise level. Burger not impressed

Don B.

Yelp
Very good burgers at a fair price. I have tried a few of their other offerings which were good as well, but the burgers are hard to beat. Highly recommend them.

Rebecca D.

Yelp
I am not a person that likes to complain. However, this is happened to me three times the last three times I have ordered from Koppe Bridge. My husband will call in an order and say I need a hamburger with mustard pickles and onion. Please do not put mayonnaise or American cheese on it because my wife does not like that and every time we get it home it has American cheese and mayonnaise on it. this is not only an inconvenience, because we have to go back and get another burger to replace it, I just don't understand how hard it is get the order right. This is why I'm ready for chicken oil to open up again because I have never had this problem with them Or even Whataburger for that matter. Koppe Bridge, sorry but I'm done. sad thing is, y'all would get a 5 star from me if you could get the order right. you give me the exact opposite of what I ask for.

Heather H.

Yelp
Such good food!! I love the fried pickles :) The hamburger fills you up!! I need to try more next time I go!

Mike L.

Yelp
Great burger fun atmosphere cold beer fair price. What else could you ask for. Was visiting from Mississippi and was a great recommendation

Texas L.

Yelp
I have a dairy allergy, and they were able to accommodate it easily. I had a salad with salsa instead of regular dressing and a burger patty paired with their fresh french fries. Their outdoor seating area is really nice and we will definitely return.

Bernard D.

Yelp
A friend recommended this place to me and maybe oversold it a bit. It's not bad, but what it is is a sports bar, not a gourmet burger stop. You go here for the atmosphere, which includes an array of televisions that show games, rustic decor, parlor games, and pool table. I'm sure the local students enjoy it. And it's fine for that. As a food stop, I felt the burger was overpriced for what you get. There are other local options for similar prices if you're looking for upscale beef, bun, and fries. This one was serviceable and filling but don't make it the headliner for your visit. Average patty, commodity bun, and average fries. Didn't try the other items on the menu, the other reviews don't look encouraging.

Kathy S.

Yelp
This was our first visit and we were very pleased! We were in town visiting our daughter and her family and decided to go there for lunch. We chose the burger basket and it was delicious! We think this might become one of our favorite places when we're in town! The food was fresh and the restaurant was clean. We enjoyed sitting on the patio! The staff was busy but friendly! Loved it all!

Trinity M.

Yelp
Tried the burger today and was very disappointed. It and the fries were not seasoned much at all. The fries are not good at all but the cheese dip or ranch helps a little. I won't be coming here again

Patti F.

Yelp
Food was fantastic!!! Great burgers....we also had queso with salsa and it was really good, the salsa was fresh and homemade. Quick service.

Austin K.

Yelp
Place is never open. I hear urban legends of them having quality food but the last 5-6 times I've been in town they closed. Food can't be that good if they can't stay open‍. I would pick a place that can keep their doors open..

Bob M.

Yelp
Having moved to the B/CS area just before the pandemic, I had not had a chance to try Koppe Bridge which advertises the "Best Big Burger in Town." Friday that changed when my wife and I stopped in for lunch. I had to try the burger and it was okay. It was juicy and tasty, but hardly extraordinary. Hopefully the "Big" and "in Town" are important modifiers of the "Best" claim; otherwise B/CS area has nothing but run of the mill burgers. But that's not the case. I've had better burgers in Bryan at the Shipwreck Grill, even though not as big. I've had much better burger in Burton at the Short Stop; even though a good jaunt from "town." Brenham could boast a better burger at the Dairy Bar, but again out-of-town. But Five Guys has moved into town. I haven't tried the local franchise, but burgers and fries at other locations would easily beat a taste test. More importantly, by late Friday afternoon I was making repeat visits to the porcelain throne. The next day, I was still keeping within a quick jog. A big ordinary burger with a side of diarrhea; I seriously doubt I will be back.

Phillip F.

Yelp
Really cool atmosphere. Burger and fries are solid. Definitely recommended! I will be back!

Barbara W.

Yelp
We were very disappointed. I had eaten there years ago and was the best. It had no seasoning and would not go back. Too pricey for what you got.

Michael B.

Yelp
The best burgers in town. Always stop there when visiting Texas A&M. Highly recommend this place.

Renae T.

Yelp
Very busy for a Sunday. From the time we ordered and our food to come out was in good time. Staff was great too. Most definitely will be back.

Trevor H.

Yelp
The food is good but more expensive then similar restaurants. They nickel and dime you for everything so it runs up the bill. Much more expensive then Chicken Oil especially for beer pitchers. Then there is the temperature inside the restaurant. It is freezing. It is so cold no one wants to eat inside. Woman are all complaining and when you mention it to the staff they say that they are not allowed to change the temperature so basically deal with with it and freeze as your trying to enjoy your meal. What should be a great meal turns out to be an unpleasant race to eat before your food is cold!

Kerra S.

Yelp
Came in for lunch today around 1:30 and was greeted by a very friendly bar attendant and a fairly empty building. The place was super cutely decorated with road signs, posters , and little knick knacks around . We ordered the chicken Strip basket ( 5 piece with fries for 8.99) and the 1/4 lb burger. For the appetizer we had chili's cheese curly fries which were delicious !! In fact all the food was great , and it was massive ! Definitely enough for a full meal and leftovers . This place has friendly staff , quick service , and yummy chicken so I will definitely be coming back .

Mallori B.

Yelp
The fries were awesome! The burger was very good. But I didn't care for the toothpicks (the fried onions and Jalapeños). We got our food fairly fast. I'd eat here again.
