What a delightful surprise! The food was delicious (with excellent vegetarian and vegan options) and owner Michael was great to chat with. Liked the touch of the curated playlists on the menus as well. Saving this place to return to often!

This place brings Egyptian street food to the next levels. We order Koshary cause it seems the signature here and it was good! Tastes more fresh than in Cairo. The Hummus is pretty delicious as well but the bread is far from aish baladi (traditional street bread in Egypt) . We try their homemade lemonade, the mint with lemon is very refreshing and the rose with orange is amazing. The staff is friendly and speak English cause their German bit limited but they always nice and helpful. Price is okay might be due to the location.

Excellent food! We took a good variety of warm and cold mezze and the date-walnut and feta salad. Together with some rosé and white wine. Small restaurant, reservations are necessary. Very kind staff!

Everything was so tasty! Honestly I went in without much expectation because the place didn’t look super appealing. But the food wowed me. The rice in particular was very delicious! The place was quite small and the seats were uncomfortable, but well, I guess that’s kind of authentic street food vibes :D

Google
A cozy Egyptian restaurant who’s trying to offer some of the traditional, authentic dishes at the heart of the German capital. Staff are polite and friendly, but the food is not more than average. I’ve tried two different dishes, Koshary and Hawashi. The first was okay, where’s Hawashi was a horrible story, unless they’re using very good spices, the magic salad with feta and Arabic date doesn’t make any sense next to this sandwich and definitely the portion is very small for such a price.

Google
Great authentic and flavorful food and very friendly service. I had the Koshari and Egyptian style meatballs - it doesn't happen often that I come across new entirely flavors but this combination tastes unique! Wine was good too.

Delicious middle eastern/north African inspired food with friendly staff. Definitely one of the highlights in the neighborhood. Prices are very fair, service is lovely. Food is great for sharing.

Fun little place with flavorful dishes at a great price point. Come here for casual, street-food vibes while sitting in their bustling place. They use organic ingredients, especially for their meat dishes and have plenty of vegetarian options as well.

Yelp
We came here for lunch by recommendation of a friend on our very last day in Berlin, right before we left for the airport and it was the most perfect and tastiest send off! You order and pay at the counter and they give you a beeper so you know when the food is ready. When it goes off, you go back up to the counter to get your food, condiments, etc. there's ample seating indoors with a few tables outside as well. I got the koshary, my husband got a falafel sandwich, and we split sakalans for dessert. There was also a big bowl of a hot sauce/spicy condiment near the water station by the counter and, of course, I had to try it. The wait for our food wasn't long at all, but it seemed we had just beat the rush. The koshary here is the best I've ever had! It wasn't lacking in anything and it came out hot! The sauce was plentiful and the flavor warm and inviting. The chickpeas were perfect cooked and the fried onions were super crispy and tasty, not at all bitter! The hot sauce was actually spicy, but also went really well the koshary in terms of flavor. My husband's sandwich was loaded and he really enjoyed it. He had gotten it wrapped to go in anticipation of not finishing it, but he claimed it was so good he couldn't stop. The sakalans was nothing like I've ever had before, but now I crave it so much! I highly recommend it even if you're skeptical! This was a wonderful meal and we hope to return to it one day!

Yelp
I guess you have to like this type of cuisine. We certainly didn't. It tastes like things we would be able to make ourselves at home. We liked the owner who was nice but that's about it.

Yelp
This place is really cool and unique. The food is very traditional and different, definitely worth a try if you're a fan of trying something new. We waited for really long and had to remind the waiter of our order. Also, the portions are really small but after all the prices are fair.

Yelp
Best food in Germany so far in this trip. Small home style authentic Egyptian and Saudi Arabian cuisine. Service was excellent. Highly recommend if you like Middle Eastern cuisine.

Yelp
this was recommended to us by a Berliner and I AM SO GRATEFUL SHE DID! we had SUCH a wonderful meal here. both my partner and I have had a lot of Middle Eastern food, and are familiar with that palette - we were still unprepared with how saturated with flavor the food was - every bite was almost worth talking about, if we weren't so busy enjoying it. tapas style is the way to go, if only to experience a bigger diversity of plates, as Koshary encompasses several different cuisines from North Africa to the Levant - and they're all worth experiencing. can't wait to visit Berlin again to see friends - and to revisit this delightful restaurant that provided one of our very favorite meals.

Yelp
I like the way they offer these North African flavours, especially that we can choose a gluten free or meat free dish if we wish. Yet not too many options for these, that I personally regret. Nice, colorful interior and authentic background music with a contemporary twist. Simple menu with takeaway option, too.

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise. Authentic Egyptian street food in a colorful, clean restaurant just off the Main Street in Kudom. The flavors are amazing and the caramelized onions in one dish were almost like candy. Try their Koshary, foul and garantita. Any of their soups are good. Any vegetarian or vegan will love this place. Vegetables never tasted this good.

Yelp
Good and tasteful food, not very traditional (Don't expect authentic or genuine middle eastern food). A bit overpricey. Colorful nice interior design but uncomfortable chairs.

Yelp
The best place where you can eat Koshary ever. Koshary is a typical egyptian meal from rice, noodels, lintel , garlic and chilli sauce. YOU MUST TRY IT.

Yelp
I came to the place with quite low expectations. Afterall, who could do something as obscure and specific as Egyptian street food so well? But being an Egyptian and a Koshary fan, it was simply obligatory to give it a try. So I ordered the Koshary, selected the ingredients, and lo and behold: I got one truly authentic serving of Koshary that is absolutely no different from what you'd get from a Koshary joint in Cairo. The place also offers some other Egyptian street foods like Ful (mashed fava beans, a typical Egyptian breakfast) and Hawawshi (baked minced beef in flat bread), and a changing set of traditional Egyptian drinks which was all a nice surprise. All in addition to some North African/Moroccan dishes as well. I was excited to find a place that fills such a paticular niche with no compromises with regards to authenticity. Definitely recommended!

Yelp
Amazing! Loved the food and the atmosphere. Colorful in style and taste. A very big thank you to Ashraf and his team.

Yelp
I think this Egyptian-street food is a matter of taste. Personally, me and my husband hated it. I got a sort of lentil-purée with a pita bread & the second dish was a sort of "eintopf" of chick peas, bread, curry spices. The latter had such a vinegar flavor that it was not enjoyable; and the lentils purée as a single dish was, after a little while too overwhelming flavor; as a small-side element adding to a dish, could have worked but on its own, I couldn't finish it. As I said, it's a matter of taste, sadly not my type of cuisine.

Yelp
Vegetarians, try the Koshari. Big bowl of lentils, chickpeas, rice, tiny macaroni noodles with a tomato sauce covered in incredibly caramalized onions. Amazing

Yelp
Reading about this place in the papers we've decided to give it a chance. First of all... it was great. We ordered several Levantine dishes from Egypt, Marocco and Lebanon and all of them gave us a new tasty experience. The service was good, the restaurant clean and kids friendly.

Yelp
Typical Egyptian street food dishes by a German who lived in Egypt most of his life. Relaxed friendly setting just off Savignyplatz, relaxed prices. The dishes are modified to cater to European tastebuds (somewhat less spicy), but flavourful. Worth to go!
