Kostas Grill

A wonderful family-owned and run Greek restaurant that has never disappointed us. The food is always fresh, seasoned and cooked perfectly. We normally order a lamb gyro platter with orzo and salad to go, and that is what we ordered tonight. As always, everything was delicious. The good folks running the show are always kind and gracious and are more than deserving of your business. We highly recommend them for your next dinner.

On our way to Long Beach, New Jersey, we found this restaurant and from the moment we walked in the door, we were promptly greeted by our server, Bryle who is an excellent front of the house person, was also very kind and knowledgeable. The lemon chicken and sampler are amazing as was the complementary fried chick peas and ice cream.

Very delicious food, loved the service, and the owner is an amazing person very attentive and friendly. We love this restaurant 💗

Pleasantly surprised by the quality of this South Jersey Greek outpost. Cavernous but comfortable, with a nice flow of local clientele. We were quickly seated, and well tended to throughout by the staff, its a BYOB and many of the tables had bottles on them, we settled for Cokes that were refilled without extra charge. We began with an excellent and warm bowl of avgolemono, lemony and flavorful, we moved on to the gyro platter which was among the best I ever had, it was accessible by a delicious Greek salad, classically made with feta cheese and olives, excellent french fries came with the dish. We finished up our meal with a piece of spectaclular baklava, fresh, flaky and loaded with honey and nuts. We were glad that we were able to check this place out and can’t wait to come back yo try some of their other Greek and Mediterranean specialties.

I have to say it's been a long time since I've found a restaurant family owned, where you're greeted like family. It feels like you're eating at your grandmother's home. This is one of my favorite places to eat, atmosphere, service and most importantly, quality delicious food. I'll be back many times lol loved how one of the owners asked how our meal was at the end, you don't get service like that anymore. It was a real treat ❤️

Great Greek restaurant serving all of the foods you know. Servers are attentive and make sure you have clean dishes for the courses. The lamb burger is definitely a try. Great selection of appetizers along with the Greek flaming cheese, served with pita. Kosta salad is another great choice with great lemon flavor. They are BYOB, so bring your favorite wine. The owner visits the tables throughout your meal.

WHAT A HIDDEN GEM!!! Always nice to find a solid Greek restaurant near the shore and this place delivers! Lots of what you'd expect and enjoy but all very well done and of good quality! I especially loved the Kethedes for an app. The seafood orzo is absolutely the way to go for a larger dining party! The staff are a masterclass example of food service, not skipping a beat and reading the table well, never had to ask for a refill of any drink or anything. The decor is the best of a good situation with very cool accents and decorative pieces without overdoing it or looking tacky at all. Very classy, clean feel.

We've been coming to Kostas for the great food for many years. Tonight we were there for our 15 year anniversary with our kids. Not only was the food fresh and flavorful as always, but Bryle was a great server. We told him that we wanted to bring some food home for our elderly neighbor who is struggling with mobility issues. We were hoping for a suggestion that would be easy for him to handle without much mess. Not only did we get a great recommendation, but the owners were consulted and decided to take care of our neighbor's dinner. We were astounded not only at the generosity, but the initiative of our server. I just delivered the meal to my neighbor, and his face lit up with delight. We've been here many, many times and we'll be back many more. Thank you, Kostas!

Expensive for a plain Jane strip mall restaurant, but our meal was worth every penny. We shared yummy, zucchini/eggplant appetizer, the crust fried to crunchy, yummy perfection. Our gyros were huge, ingredients supper fresh and well prepared. The baklava was crisp, perfectly sweetened with just the right amount of honey. Not cloy and soggy as many are. Even the coffee was above par. Our waiter, a young, college student and the bus boy were as well trained and thoughtful as any I've experienced in a white table cloth restaurant with an eagle eyed maitre d' guarding the door and managing the floor. We'll be going back again. Soon.

Kostas grill is definitely a worthy place to eat. Thank goodness for the sign because you can't see it from the road. It's in the far end of this shopping centre. Once you get inside, there's about 20-30 tables. Music isn't too loud but there is mild-moderate din from people talking. The food? Buckle up friend! It is SO GOOD. This place has everything from gyros to souvlaki to other Greek meatballs I can't pronounce. Amazing selection of both surf and turf. Awesome salads. I got the pork gyro special (with orzo) which came with a Greek salad for $21. Salad was my favorite, because it's. The hot entree was filling and tasty but the salad was my favorite. I'd love to try them all! (It didn't just have feta sprinkled on top, it had a block haha!) Highly recommend. (And yes there are selections there for the faint of taste)!

I had takeout but there are dine-in options with indoor seating. The indoor seating looked nice and the staff looked attentive and friendly. It is a clean-looking place that can accommodate groups. Regarding the food, the gyro platter and kostas pork were definitely a pricey option and I expected more than what I got for the price or at least for it to be absolutely delicious. The taste of it was decent but not amazing in my opinion. It also wasn't in easy pieces to eat with the pita triangles given. I enjoyed the gyro alot more then the kostas pork. All-in-all I enjoyed and finished the food but not sure if I would recommend it without giving it another try.

Nick was our server and he was an amazing host! He was really so friendly and personable and only added to our great experience at Kostas Grill. It was lunchtime and Nick really provided us with excellent service and made it look so easy. I could tell being at Kostas Grill in the off-season was in our favor. I'm sure Summertime is absolutely crazy busy so we took advantage of it. The halloumi appetizer was very good and went perfect with the fresh veggies and pesto. The Horitaki salad was excellent as well. Everything is as fresh as can be. The dressing was so good and the feta was too! We added falafel to the salad and it worked perfectly and gave the salad some crunch and texture too. Missing from view is the Baklava and coffee because they disappeared too quickly for a photo. Sorry about that. But you get the idea, that too was like you just stepped out of Athens! The next day we went back and took food out to bring home to our family for dinner. We tried some different dishes and each one of them was cooked to perfection. When you see a rating like this on Yelp you know you can expect to enjoy your meal. Try it and don't let the crowded strip mall scare you away. It's worth every bite.

Great food! We enjoyed the soft shell crabs, gyro and salads. Plenty of food with entrees. Our service Nick was great. Owner Nick made us Greek coffee. Had key lime ice cream for dessert. Warm atmosphere with beautiful pictures of Greece.

While I was at the gym, I saw their specials outside of their store and that brought me in today. Another satisfying meal here and as always I enjoy it, the soft shell crab was very delicious. The service was very good and our server was very attentive! There were more people here this time which makes me happy because this place is such a sweet spot in this town. I love the decor inside and I real enjoy the experience every time I eat here.

I just came here for Valentine's Day with my husband. We have been here before and we have also done take out. THIS PLACE IS HANDS DOWN IS EXCELLENT!! Delicious HOT food! It's fresh and the portions are ..... forget about it!! HUGEEEEEE!! I love the service & staff as well! BEST PLACE in town. It beats every place around including the "golf restaurant" THANK YOU !!

My family and I dined here for the first time and it was absolutely delicious. The staff was so nice and very efficient. The owner came over and chatted with us and was so social. The food was fresh and we loved how they serve traditional, authentic Greek dishes. The servings were huge and we all had leftovers to take home. We will definitely be back!

Kostas has the best Greek I have ever ate. I grew up eating Greek food and Kostas is the best. Once you try Kostas you will be hooked. Great service.

We are new to the area and we just found our Greek spot! The food is beyond delicious. Everything is super fresh and a ton of flavor. The portions are very generous and everything was very hot. We ate in and the restaurant is super clean. Staff is welcoming and friendly. We can't wait to go back. Highly recommend. Also it's a BYOB which y'all know is my fav!

Updating my review from more than 4 years ago. Came back here and really enjoyed my dinner. Same friendly and wonderful service too! We ordered the flaming cheese after seeing several others order Thai. Very interesting dish. When it comes out, there are flames! The cheese is good, but it has a strong alcohol taste so may not be shit ale for kids. I ordered the chicken gyro platter and it was so good! Highly recommend this dish. It came with chicken chunks on a metal skewer, pita triangles, tzatziki sauce, lemon potatoes (from a choice of several options) and a bowl of salad. I'm not a salad person but this salad was good because of the dressing. ! My husband kept commenting on how I looked like I was really enjoying my meal! We also ordered lemon chicken, which was moist and tasty. It came with lemon potatoes (from a choice of sides). Note that this is bone in chicken. My husband got the gyro platter. He didn't enjoy his meal as much but said it was ok. We also ordered the orzo with meatballs. I didn't try this myself but my kid wasn't a huge fan. The Espa (Greek orange soda) is really good. It's like an orangina. Dessert should not be missed! We got the baklava with graham cracker ice cream. It was delicious!

I've been looking for an authentic Greek restaurant for a while. The one near us is awesome but has unusual hours. We hit a home run with this place. From the appetizers to desert, everything was excellent. And the service was top notch. We will he going here on a regular basis. If you like Greek food (and who dosent ) I highly recommend this place. They also do catering.

As others have said in their reviews, Kostas Grill is a hidden gem that offers very tasty, freshly-prepared Greek food served by attentive staff in a very unexpected location. My dining companion and I were looking for a late dinner somewhere along our drive back from Cape May to Morristown.. and we weren't expecting much from this unadorned, family-owned and -operated Greek restaurant located in a strip mall next to Retro Fitness on US Route 9 in Tuckerton -- but both of us were pleasantly surprised by both the food and the service at Kostas Grill. We walked into the restaurant about 20 minutes before closing and were worried that the staff would turn us away, hurry us through our meal, or serve us dried-out food that was destined for the dumpster. Thankfully, none of those happened. The hostess greeted us with a smile and sat us right away, quickly followed by our friendly and energetic server who brought over a small bowl of dried chickpeas to munch on while we perused the menu. I opted for the "Spicy Kostas Pork" platter ($21), comprised of two large pieces of marinated pork loin served with a small Greek salad, tzatziki, pita triangles and lemon potatoes. My dining companion opted for the Falafel platter ($21), comprised of a generous portion of falafel balls served with a small Greek salad, tzatziki, pita triangles and Greek seasoned fries. YUM. We both thought the combination of flavors and quality and freshness of all of the ingredients was OUTSTANDING and the portion size was very generous for two hungry adults. Gus and his staff made what could have been an uneventful meal on our drive home into a memorable dining experience. If we are ever back in the area, we'll definitely return to Kostas Grill. Pro Tip: Kostas Grill is a BYOB establishment, so feel free to bring your favorite wine or beer to enjoy with your dinner.

I wasn't expecting much in a strip mall down Route 9 in Tuckerton, and so happy the we were blown away. Walked in to a nice clean spacious place, not overly decorated. We were quickly sat by the owner. Waitstaff was beyond amazing. Menu was nice and varied. The food was beyond fresh and plentiful. Reminiscent of a great Greek diner (NJ people will know). With large plates and great food. Even the side salsa were delicious with fresh feta. The Gyro platters were the best I have had on east coast, sorry NY. The homemade dessert, was so good, no one got a picture. Will not only go back, would consider using them for catering TLDR : worth the short drive from LBI for amazing Greek food and outstanding service

The food was magnificent. The ice cream superb the waiter just fabulous and the owner came over to us very personable. We will definitely be back again. The restaurant was crowded that night with locals.

I've wanted to try this place for some time! It's not fancy or anything... But the service is overwhelmingly Friendly! The lady kept graciously touching my arm. They are very descriptive when you have questions about the food. The chamomile tea was even Greek and delicious. The salmon gyro was large and fresh everything was! I definitely can't wait to return to try Other dishes!

The food was exceptionally good, correction, great, and the staff was extremely friendly. We met the owner and he was a gentleman. Just a really a great experience.

I love everything about this place. Their apps are amazing. The fried eggplant and zucchini are delicious. The Greek Mac n cheese is amazing but my two favorites are the fried kefalograviera cheese and their (pistachio and olive oil) ice creams.

Heard this was a great Greek spot so we wanted to give it a shot, very happy we did. Not pictured is the chic peas that go to every table (I could eat that all day) and the Kosta's lamb burger. All the food was delicious and very authentic. The lamb burger was fantastic, freshly ground and cooked perfectly. The spicy feta spread on the burger was incredible. Everything was terrific, now we just need to figure out how many more trips it will take to try everything else on the menu. And if you have picky little eaters like we do the orzo with butter was a big hit at our table...and a big serving.

My husband and I were in the area on vacation and wanted to try something different- we are SO glad we did. We both got gyros which where fresh, delicious, and HUGE. We shared a large fry which was deliciously seasoned and also huge. For dessert we shared the Baklava- so moist and yummy! 10/10, 100% recommend this place

I love this place! Showed me that there is a lot more to greek food than just good gyros and chicken kabobs! In a small little tucked away town in South Jersey, there opened up the only Greek place that has been down here in probably 30 years. And when i tell u it's phenomenal i make no exaggeration! The restaurants decor transports you back to Santorini with its blue walls and ancient greek statues. The aroma that wafts out of the kitchen is truly intoxicating, combination of tskizi sauce, paprika, and lemon. I ordered the fried eggplant and zucchini which was incredible. Also the lemon chicken dinner and the crab cake dinner were phenomenal! BEST GREEK FOOD AROUND

We drove past one day going to a friend's house and put it on our places to try list. We are very happy we did! Us and two other couples enjoyed the fabulous food. For the table we ordered the grape leaves, octopus and flaming cheese appetizers. We all agreed all the appetizers were delicious. For dinner, I had the Moussaka which had a layer of potatoes on the bottom with a cinnamon flavored beef covered with thick pieces of eggplant covered in cheese baked to order. My husband got lamb souvlaki which was tender, moist and cooked to a perfect medium. The lamb came with red and green grilled peppers, onions and rice. The Greek side salads were a good size and the ingredients were super fresh. All in all, every dish exceeded expectations. The baklava, rice pudding and ice cream portion sizes were on point and were excellent. If you order the baklava sundae it is easily big enough to share. The wait staff were cordial, attentive without being intrusive and professional. Timing of our appetizers, main course and dessert were nicely paced. Our waiter was knowledgeable on the menu items and was able to answer our questions to our satisfaction. The owner even came out to chat with us. It was a nice atmosphere. If the lights feel a bit bright just ask them to turn them down for a more cozy restaurant feel. We are all looking forward to going back soon.

Always a pleasure. Foods always great, a little bit of a wait because it's always freshly cooked. Falafels are great, chicken platters are always a favorite and the flaming cheese always our go too appetizer. Servers are always kind and helpful

The chicken kebabs and tzatziki are delicious!! The lemon potatoes are good too. But definitely try the tzatziki!

Always good services and yummy food, the menu has so many options to choose from. The sea salt olive oil ice cream is the best ice cream I've ever had and there is always a good vibe in the restaurant.

We had the gyros, falafel, and Mac and Cheese. ALL was amazing. Falafel came with pita and the pita was SO soft. Which is critical for good Mediterranean food!

One of the better Greek restaurants I have been to in a long time. Staff is super friendly, and the owner even came over after the meal to ask us how our meal was, which I always appreciate. First off, the baked chickpeas they give you when you sit down are addicting, they did not last long at our table. We got the appetizer that came with an assortment of finger foods, hummus, and a brick of feta cheese. Everything on the platter was on point. From the crunch of the spanakopita, to the creaminess of the hummus, I would get this platter for my main course. For my main course I got the lamb burger. It was more than reasonably priced, seasoned to perfection, and when I asked for medium-rare, shocker, I got med-rare. The bun was soft, and was smeared with some kind of sun dried tomato aioli that was delicious, and added a little heat. Wish this was local to where I lived because I would be here weekly.

For the sure the best and most authentic Greek restaurant.. it's always amazing fresh and delicious! The staff is always friendly and service is great! We come back time and time again for this fantastic food! Run don't walk..

Every single thing is amazing! We love the salmon, gyros, Greek salad, moussaka, pastistio, shrimp keftes, baklava sundae, roasted strawberry ice cream. Wonderful staff and the chef always comes to the table to see how everything is. BYOB. Our favorite restaurant.

I feel somewhat guilty for not updating my initial review sooner as I now frequent Kostas often. If there's one thing I learned, it's not to post a review until a restaurant has a year or so to become established. This restaurant is a fantastic, much needed addition to the area. You truly can't go wrong with anything on the menu. There's really nothing I wouldn't recommend. The pride and attention to detail the owners take in their food does not go unnoticed.

Gus and the entire crew go above and beyond! I absolutely love Kostas! Best vegetarian options too! Love the Lentil Soup!

Outstanding!!! I have eaten here so many times and the food and service never disappoint!!! I believe I have probably had every dish on the menu and every special that Gus has concocted! Everything is OUTSTANDING!!! The salad is amazing... let that sink in! The salad, the soup, every appetizer and every meal is the best one that you have ever had!!! If you visit Tuckerton and don't go to Kostas, you have made an error! If you live here and don't routinely go to Kostas, there is something wrong with you!!!& THE ABSOLUTE BEST FOOD IN TOWN!!!

Me and my friends love this place. My favorite is their super greek salad! They have such a great variety of food too. Perfect for meat lovers as well as vegetarian options.

Always get the chicken gyro with tzatziki sauce. There's always a really good amount of chicken on it and the sauce is pure heaven. It's also very flavorful and the service is always great. I have also gotten french fries from there that were outrageously delicious.
